- "The house and property was clean and looked newly renovated. About a mile away from downtown Saugatuck, so a great location. Easy find and access from the highway. We had two days of rain when we stayed so I appreciated the game cabinet and pool table - they were a fun way to get my kids off of their screens. We had a great time. We’d definitely stay there again. Only suggestions - perhaps a baking (cookie) sheet or two and a veggie steamer to insert into a pot. Thank you!"

- "Brower cottage did not disappoint! The views from the living room are picture perfect, especially when sitting in the comfy chair and ottoman. All the furnishings were attractive and comfortable, including the beds. We enjoyed watching our favorite shows on TV and listening to my Pandora stations. The kitchen had all the cookware, utensils and dishes I needed to fix meals. The cottage was also well stocked with paper goods and cleaning supplies. I didn't have to buy anything! My grandsons came for a visit for a few days. They loved the bunk beds, playing on the dock and swimming. We did do some exploring in the area. . . the Outdoor Discovery Center, shopping in Holland and Saugatuck and visiting Windmill Island Gardens. The flowers everywhere were beautiful. Of course, being close to Crane's Restaurant and Pie Pantry, and their U-pick orchards was a real bonus. They have 30,000 trees! Anytime I had a question or concern the owner was quick to answer my messages and offer his help. I will definitely stay at Brower cottage again."

This Quaint 2 bedroom cottage is part of Saugatuck history as Structure that was moved from the town of Singapore. Renovated down to the studs in 2019 with all the updated and amentities of a new home, central heat, central AC, Dishwasher, washer and dryer, outdoor webber gas grill. This two bedroom home has two bedrooms upstairs with queen size beds Which brings the capacity of this cottage to 4. Stay in and prepare dinner in the full size kitchen, outfitted with granite countertops, gas stove and full size refrigerator or walk to any of the great restaurants downtown Saugatuck. There is a round table in a small dining room for for and room for two more at the island. There is a full size bathroom on the main level with a walk in shower. The living room has a 50" tv outfitted with a soundbar for your entertainment. After a full day out come back to the cottage and relax in the private 4 person hot tub. This Quaint little cottage has it all.

Rental Rules (RULES ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED):

1.) All of our rentals are non-smoking.
2.) You and your guests are using our home at your own risk. We nor the owner of the property will be held responsible for any injuries that occur at the vacation rental or for any lost or stolen items.
3.) No boats or trailers are to be parked at our rental properties. Tents of any kind are not allowed.
There is parking 2 vehicles and you must park in the drive. Please do NOT block the sidewalk or you will be towed. Parking is also allowed in any legal public parking spot on the street.
4.) Do not move the furniture.
5.) Each cottage has a maximum number of guests that is listed on this contract you must verify that it is correct. That number is not to be exceeded - this includes children and adults. For fire safety, we are required to limit the number in each home. If additional people are found to be staying at the cottage the entire group will be asked to vacate with no refund. Inflatable mattresses or alternative sleeping other than pack n plays or cribs are not allowed. Tents are also not allowed on the property.
6.) Pets are not permitted. If a pet is on the property then there will be a $1500 fee and it will be required that the owner board the pet immediately.
7.) Damages are to be reported during your stay. If we find damage after you vacate, you authorize the charge to your credit card for replacement or repair or provide another credit card number, pay by cash or check. Damages reported upon arrival will not be guests' responsibility.
8.) Cleaners will come to the cottage after you have departed - they will not visit to clean, change linens, or replace towels during your stay. Please contact the office should you need assistance during your stay regarding any cleaning items.
9.) Grills are to be cleaned after each use.
10.) Quiet time is after 10pm nightly. We do not tolerate loud groups and college like parties anytime of the day or night. Drinking games are not allowed on the property. Neighbors must NOT hear you inside or outside the cottage after 10pm.
11.) You are at least 25 years old and will be able to verify with valid identification during your stay if needed.
12.) Weddings and formal events are NOT permitted on our properties, if there is found to be a formal event on the property the entire group will be asked to vacate the property with a no refund. It is acceptable to have a visitors during the day hours but that number can not be more than 1.5 times the maximum occupancy of the cottage.
13.) No more than 4 people in the hot tub at a time. Please rinse of all oils and lotions before entering the hot tub as the filter will not be able to keep up. KIDS CAN NOT BE IN THE HOT TUB WITOUT AN ADULT! Hot tub towels are provided. Neighbor is close and must not hear you outside after 10pm. Please do not use bath towels for hot tub.

15.) No fireworks at the property at any time.

The house itself is well designed and maintained. I particularly enjoy sitting on the screened porches listening to birds and the breeze through the woods. It is just a great place!"

Escape from the hustle-bustle of everyday life. Disconnect from technology and reconnect with your family, friends, or yourself. Take long walks on the beach, enjoy the water, build sand castles, bring bikes to ride along the trails. On rainy days, watch the storm blow across the lake, be amazed by the lightning show or take the opportunity to play board games, read or explore nearby Grand Haven. At night, appreciate the thousands of stars in the sky or enjoy a campfire in the include Solo Stove on the deck.

Just 6 miles south of Grand Haven but a world away. Wake up to the sound of birds and sip coffee while watching boats sail by, enjoy sunset dining in the comfort of the screened in porch or on the outside patio deck, then fall asleep to the sound of the waves.

*NOTE: After the high water levels, our beach is coming back and, we have re-built stair access to the beach from the cottage. The views from the cottage are fantastic as well as the sunsets.

The Cottage offers free Wi-Fi, a newly renovated kitchen, coffee maker, stove, microwave, refrigerator, and pantry area. Beach umbrellas, Beach towels, and beach chairs are also a part of your rental.

Indoor dining area features banquette seating. A charming antique walnut table is perfect for family meals or a game of Scrabble.

Sleeps 4 comfortably. There is 1 bedroom with a double bed and a sofa in the living room that converts to a queen-size bed.

The cabin includes a bathroom with a shower stall. There is also an outdoor shower, with tempered water, adjacent to the outside deck, ideal for rinsing off before entering the cottage.

Gas BBQ grill on the outside deck allows for grilling. Solo bonfire stove on the deck for S'mores or the joy of a campfire at night. Savor the great Lake view and one-of-a-kind sunsets as you dine at the picnic table.

For other recreation, Kirk Park is 1/2 mile away with nice hikes and Pigeon Lake is a few miles south for putting in boats and/or kayaks. These are easily accessed via the bike trails that run directly in front of the entrance to our neighborhood.

**Please note there are a set of stairs from the parking area to the entrance of the cottage as well as stairs from the cottage to the beach. Additionally, please know this is a 1930's cottage and had a rustic nature to it. While we have made upgrades, it does have that old home charm and the nuances that come with it.

As this is in a neighborhood, we ask that you please respect the community quiet hours of 10:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.

The air-conditioned vacation home consists of 3 bedrooms, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and a coffee machine, and 2 bathrooms with a bath and a hair dryer. Towels and bed linen are provided in the vacation home. There's also a seating area and a fireplace. Guests can also warm up near the outdoor fireplace after a day of cycling. After a great night on the town, coffee is essential. We kept this in mind when we stocked coffee, creamer, and sugar in our convenient coffee station located in the kitchen.
Should you want a cozy night in, our cottage has all of your culinary needs taken care of. We provide our guests with pots/pans, cutlery, spatulas/utensils, a blender, kitchen knives, various gadgets, and spices.
Our cottage is pet-friendly--We know how important our furry friends are to our family, so we did our best to provide amenities for your pals that will pamper them as well! The back yard is large and fully fenced in so they can roam and enjoy the outdoors, and a fresh & clean set of food and water bowls is set out for them and ready for their next feast! Blankets, cleaning supplies, and a crate is also supplied in the front bedroom closet for your convenience.

And of course, should you need any additional supplies our co-host lives locally, is easily reachable, and is more than happy to stop by when you need. We appreciate you showing love to our cottage and are so excited for you to make lasting memories in this home that we love.

We will make every attempt to ensure the hot tub is in service, hot, clean and ready for your arrival. However, there is the unfortunate reality that there is always the possibility that the hot tub may not be in service due to things beyond our control (i.e weather, power outages, misuse, animal damage, carelessness by a prior guest, malfunction, etc.). Because of this, we cannot guarantee its functionality. We do not charge extra fees to use the hot tub and offer it as a courtesy. We will ABSOLUTELY let you know if the hot tub is out of service before you book our cottage. Because of this, a full refund will NOT be issued if the hot tub is not in service for your stay.

By using the hot tub available in the home, you personally assume all risks involving the use thereof including, but not limited to, the risk of personal injury or death to yourself and others, as well as potential damage to property while using the hot tub, whether negligent, intentional, foreseen or unforeseen.

It’s paradise on earth. At least we have thought so for the last 40 years. Situated on a secluded, private drive halfway between Holland and Grand Haven, our cottage sits on a dune on the Lake Michigan beach in an area known as Port Sheldon. Sitting on one of our two decks, you look north and see the Port Sheldon pier, the inlet to Pigeon Lake. Looking far to the south, on a clear day you can see Big Red, the lighthouse at the Holland pier.

Looking down and west, you see nothing but sand and water, beachcombers and sun bathers, power boats, jet skis, sailboats. You name it.

And since the cottage is close to Pigeon Lake it’s a great place to bring a boat. There’s a huge DNR boat ramp for anything you can get on a trailer, and there’s a small public launching spot a little closer for small boats or jet skis. Both ramps on Pigeon Lake lie within a mile of the cottage. When the waves are too big on Lake Michigan, you can pull a water-skier or an inner tube on the calm waters of Pigeon Lake.

The cottage itself has two bedrooms, a sleeping loft, and a large bath. As you can see by the pictures, the kitchen, eating area, sitting area, and game room are actually all one large great room. It’s perfect for a family with children.

But when you’re there, you’ll want to be outside as much as possible. Perhaps you’ll enjoy the huge outside deck as much as we have. We already know you’ll love the private beach. And the neighbors won’t mind if you want to take a walk on the beach – you can walk up to Pigeon Lake.

When you want to venture further abroad, there are many other options available. There is a wonderful system of bike trails that will take you all the way to Holland and beyond or up to Grand Haven where you can enjoy one of the best breakfast nooks in all of West Michigan (we’d be happy to tell you where it is). We do it every year.
Or you could take a drive to the twice-weekly Farmer’s Market in Holland and stock up on some of the freshest produce our local farmers have to offer. Or if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, a short drive up the street will bring you to our favorite blueberry farm where you can buy a quart or two -- or pick your own.

If you’re in Holland on a Thursday, you might want to check out the Holland Street Fair, or perhaps take in a play at the Hope College Summer Theatre.

Walk on the paths and sit by the pond and feed the koi fish.In the winter you can enjoy snowshoeing and cross country skiing or travel 30 min to Bittersweet resort for downhill skiing. You will be in a central location for several breweries and wineries and farm to table restaurants. Pick apples, blueberries, raspberries, peaches, nectarines when in season at Cranes Orchards.You can add to the list of visiting several local galleries. We live on the property year round in the main home, the carriage house is very private from the main house. When leaves are in foliage you can not see the main house. You may see us during your visit doing chores down in the barn. We do are best to keep the hot tub serviced and running however we can not guarantee 100% that it will be running during your visit.

* We expanded cleaning protocols to encompass the CDC guidelines and recommendations for cleaning (very thorough)
* We also use use an ozone generator to sterilize all rooms in the cottage between guests.
* Finally, based on the latest evidence, we plan to leave the cottage empty for two days prior to when guests arrive.
* Given the uncertainty of these times, we will use VRBO's more lenient plan for reimbursement of deposits in case you need to cancel.

If you prefer rustic, remote, and quiet, this is your place for respite.

The cottage comes with million-dollar views although this is not a million-dollar cottage. This is an old fashioned cottage, not a posh condo. There are no TVs, although there is now Internet. One sometimes has to walk 100 yards up the road to get cell phone connectivity.
When our boys were teenagers, they loved their social media and Internet-based games. When they came to the cottage, however, they ended up being outside all day and reading books in the evening. Many of our guests have written to say how pleased they were to see their own children being immersed in books, rather than screens.

Although the location is remote, the twin-towns of Saugatuck and Douglas are only 8 miles to the North and South Haven is 10 miles to the South. In these towns, there are fantastic restaurants, dozens of art galleries, charter boating, film festivals, crowded beaches (if you prefer that kind of thing) and so much more.

The Wau-ke-na nature preserve is also close and provides a great place to hike in the forests when one needs a break from all the sun and beach. A few tents are available at the cottage. These are wonderful for camping on the beach up or on the bluff. Sometimes it's fun just to set up a tent for children to play in.

If you like wine tasting or cider tasting, there are plenty of vineyards and a few open wine cellars where you can sample the products. Closest to the cottage are Modales Vineyard, Fenn Valley Wine Cellar, and Virtue Cider.

The cottage has a binder with information and descriptions of many of the local attractions. We enjoy them all but--most of all-- the cottage is about respite and doing little or nothing.

The mission of the Rustic Respite cottage includes a commitment to protecting the environment and becoming a carbon-neutral property by 2025. Guests will be expected to sort cans, bottles, and paper products for recycling and they are also expected to use the compost bin for kitchen scraps.

At first when arrived was worried about the no air conditioning it was so hot inside but once we opened all windows and found all the fans we didn’t notice there was no air conditioning. It’s a small piece of lawn squeezed in between other houses with other peoples boats and tables on it and when you arrive at the water there is no place it’s all covered with boats and docks of the other residents So if you wanted to sit there you feel like sitting In Someone else’s backyard and if you want to swim or get your boat in water you have to go in between and around all the docks and boats. So not really usable in my opinion. I would still definitely stay there again"

You have the cottage all to yourself with your own private drive. Our home is located on the property, but we give our guests privacy and will always ask for permission if we need to be by the cottage at all.

We have a large backyard but we ask that you don’t walk or allow your dog to go beyond the fire pit for the safety of guests and animals!

If you would like a tour of the grounds, we are more than happy to give you one, feel free to ask and we will do our best to accommodate!

Other things to note
We loveee fur babies! However, in order to keep our property clean and reduce the risk of damage we do have a $75 pet fee and do require your pet to be crated while you are not on site.

The state of Michigan does have laws in place stating dogs must be leashed when outside so please follow regulations! Please pick up after your dog and place in a baggie and throw away in the trash can under the deck.(We have doggy bags in the entryway table drawer).

There is a $50 fine for any pet related messes found by our cleaning crew.

We only allow 1 pet and a weight max of 50lbs. If you have questions, message us! Failure to follow these results may result in a fine. Thank you!

This vintage beach cottage is located in the sand dune hills of Historic Ottawa Beach resort area. Biking trails, sidewalks and board walks surround this cottage giving you access to Lake Michigan and Lake Macatawa. The space
This cottage is off of the main road and tucked up in the dunes of Historic Ottawa Beach. This late 1800’s cottage has been refurbished without losing it’s historic appeal but having all the modern amenities that one would need for a comfortable stay. Sit on the porch with your coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night and enjoy the lake breeze. Stroll down the boardwalk to Lake Michigan or walk down the road to the General Store or Lake Macatawa.
With 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and lots of history, this cottage will make for many family memories .

Serenity and Relaxation is what you will find at Vivian Cottage. This historic cottage has been fully renovated. It sits on a half acre of woods and gardens. And you are only .8 miles from Town, which has tons of art galleries, bars, restaurants and shopping. The cottage has its original claw tub, screened in porch and a full kitchen. The owners lives on the property and is able to help with advice on things to do - but only if renter initiates contact.

The space
At first glance this home defines the vision of a cute lake cottage. This house has the cottage look and feel, but with comfortable living on the inside. The house is tucked along south shore drive which runs along the shoreline of Lake Macatawa, where the road can go no further due to that super large lake called Lake Michigan getting in the way. The neighborhood has a true lake town feel, where you'll see glimpses of the lake, feel the nice lake breezes and hear boats zipping across the lake.

This home has a total of 2 bedrooms and is furnished with 3 queen beds; one bedroom on the main floor (1 queen bed) and one bedroom that is lofted up to the second floor (2 queen beds). FYI, the second floor is accessed by a pretty steep set of stairs so please be aware when booking.

The Oriole cottage is part of historic Bird Center Resort that has been catering to vacationers for 100 years and was fully renovated in 2005. This cozy cottage has all of the amenities for a great getaway that will keep you coming back. The studio space is small, but has everything you need with a kitchenette, queen size bed,TV and cable. Great outdoor Screened in porch and chairs on the deck with a partial view of Lake Kalamazoo, outdoor hot tub (open all year around) and a gas grill.

The space
Located just three blocks from all the shops, restaurants, and galleries of downtown Saugatuck, and just 5 minutes to any area beach. Walk to town or take a ride on the two bikes available below the unit.

By renting this cottage the below is agreeing to the following terms:

(RULES ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED):

1.) No smoking. All of our rentals are non-smoking.
2.) You and your guests are using our home at your own risk. We nor the owner of the property will be held responsible for any injuries that occur at the vacation rental or for any lost or stolen items.
3.) No boats or trailers are to be parked at our rental properties. Tents of any kind are not allowed.
Arrangements for trailers need to be made. There is a parking lot for the cottage.
4.) Do not move the furniture.
5.) Each cottage has a maximum number of guests that is listed on this contract you must verify that it is correct. That number is not to be exceeded - this includes children and adults. For fire safety, we are required to limit the number in each home. If additional people are found to be staying at the cottage the entire group will be asked to vacate with no refund. Inflatable mattresses or alternative sleeping other than pack n plays or cribs are not allowed. Tents are also not allowed on the property.
6.) Pets are not permitted. If a pet is on the property then there will be a $1500 fee and it will be required that the owner board the pet immediately.
7.) Damages are to be reported during your stay. If we find damage after you vacate, you authorize the charge to your credit card for replacement or repair or provide another credit card number, pay by cash or check. Damages reported upon arrival will not be guests' responsibility.
8.) Cleaners will come to the cottage after you have departed - they will not visit to clean, change linens, or replace towels during your stay. Please contact the office should you need assistance during your stay regarding any cleaning items.
9.) Grills are to be cleaned after each use.
10.) Quiet time is after 10pm nightly. We do not tolerate loud groups and college like parties anytime of the day or night. Drinking games are not allowed on the property. Neighbors must NOT hear you inside or outside the cottage after 10pm.
11.) You are at least 25 years old and will be able to verify with valid identification during your stay if needed.
12.) Weddings and formal events are NOT permitted on our properties, if there is found to be a formal event on the property the entire group will be asked to vacate the property with a no refund. It is acceptable to have a visitors during the day hours but that number can not be more than 1.5 the maximum occupancy of the cottage.
13.) No more than 2 people in the hot tub at a time. Please rinse of all oils and lotions before entering the hot tub as the filter will not be able to keep up. KIDS CAN NOT BE IN THE HOT TUB WITOUT AN ADULT! Hot tub towels are provided. Neighbor is close and must not hear you outside after 10pm. Please do not use bath towels for hot tub.
14.) Fireworks are prohibited on the property at all times.

These rules are strictly enforced due to NEW city and township ordinances. This contract is the only warning you will get. If any rules are not followed all local fines, security deposits and any other charges will be charged to guest and the entire group will be asked to vacate the property. This communication is necessary so that your vacation experience is a good one for your group and our neighboring community. Please ENJOY your stay!

Your very own Saugatuck secret getaway. Trust me, you'll tell no one of your new discovery, this private, pleasure place. Of course, friends will want to know where you found a renovated, 12-acre farmhouse just under 2 miles from town and a five-minute drive to the beach. BUT damned if you're saying a word. They don't need to know THE ZOO offers the best of both worlds...the private, RUSTIC, country setting with star-filled nights or the crowds awaiting you in town. Nothing fancy, just fun!

The Zoo was willed to me in 1976. My summers on grampa's farm were great. You'll get a chance to relax in an old farmhouse provided with the luxuries of today. Stream your favorite shows after days in town or at the beach. Or end each day around the firepit. Memory making at its best.

There is not central air conditioning but three window units. It’s a 90 year-old farmhouse originally heated with oil. The Airbnb boarding process only lists central air under air conditioning options.

• Our cottage was built in the 1970s and still boasts electric baseboard heaters. We have updated each room with a digital thermostat so you can easily adjust temperatures to your liking. Our wood-burning stove can heat the space fabulously in the colder months.
• The home is shaded by tall trees and stays fairly cool inside during summer days, however, we have two window A/C units (one in each bedroom) and ceiling fans (each bedroom and in the main living space) to keep you comfortable during warmer days.

💧 Water:
• This home runs on a well and septic system, common in this area. Please flush only toilet paper - no wipes, paper towels, etc.
• A reverse osmosis water filter at the kitchen sink provides clean, fresh drinking water.
• Our water softener is maintained regularly to help minimize any mineral buildup or sulfur smells, though you may experience occasional traces

Wild life sightings are very common due to the large woods that surround the cottage. This includes deer, wild turkeys, turtles, bald eagles, and many other species of bird.

There is a hiking trail immediately out of the front of the property that takes you through a scenic wooded trail through the sand dunes.
