They had a leash, poop bags, and dog bowls to welcome Ginger. The host was also amazing with communication. We had a minor thing that needed to be fixed at the house and it was done within 1 day. We also stayed for 2 weeks and they had the cleaning company come by after 1 week to change the bedding/towels and freshen up the place. We truly appreciated it! Can’t wait to stay again next year :)"

Situated among white pines and oak trees, this 3 bedroom, 2 bath cottage was totally remodeled in 2016, with a bright new kitchen, fresh bathrooms and cozy bedrooms, which complement the classic features like knotty pine paneling, a wood burning fire place and the all-glass sleeping porch. The wooded setting provides ample privacy and the beach on Sleeping Bear Bay is unsurpassed for swimming, rock hunting or simply taking in the beauty of the surroundings.

Though they love their northern getaway, the cottage’s owners can’t spend all their time up here so have decided to make select times available to guests.

From the cottage it’s a quick trip into the small town of Glen Arbor, which is in the heart of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Among Glen Arbor’s amenities is a fully-stocked grocery store, restaurants, bars, art studios and apparel shops, most of which are open year-round. The cottage enjoys nearby access to the newly constructed Heritage Trail offering over 20 miles of car-free riding & walking through forest, dune and marsh ecosystems, spanning from Empire to Good Harbor Bay.

The Details

The bedrooms are as follows: King bed in master, queen bed in second bedroom, and bunk w/ twin over full in the lower level bedroom as well as a sofa bed. Please note that there is a separate outside entrance to the lower level bedroom. Sheets & bath towels are provided, we just ask that you bring your own beach towels.

The galley style kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, glassware and pots & pans, as well as all the major appliances and a gas grill is located right outside the kitchen. There is a stacked, front-loading washer & dryer. Seating for up to 8 at the dining room table.

The cottage is equipped with cable TV and wifi internet service.

Off the front of the sleeping porch is a large deck with ample seating, and a newly built boardwalk down to a beachfront lounging deck.

Check-in is any time after 4pm, check-out is by 10am. Pets are not allowed.

- "So many amazing things to say about this property! We stayed with our entire family, including our toddler. The location cannot be beat, you are steps from Lake Michigan while being a mile shy of downtown glen arbor. The house had spacious main areas such as kitchen, living room and the main bathroom. Plenty of room for our family of 8, and everything was super clean. My only complaint is the mattresses could be upgraded, as they were not very comfortable in any room. Like I said above, outstanding space and location. We loved our stay!!"

The 1938 Modern cabin was designed by eminent Chicago architect Harry Weese for his parents while in architecture school. It is a notable early example of a style that became popular and known as mid-centry modern. The wall of glass embracing the lake is the focal point for open-plan living, dining & cooking. Furnishings have been updated in keeping with its historic character.

Down a private drive, a short distance east of the Narrows Bridge, it is Ideally located adjacent to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Relax, enjoy your vacation at our bright, comfortable cottage. The large living area with fireplace has a dining table for 8 and a selection of comfortable seating. The adjacent screen porch has teak furniture & a table for snacking, dinner or games. Step out to the ample deck with lounge chairs. All areas overlook the crystal clear, spring fed lake. Four cozy bedrooms will accommodate 5-8.

The Cottage: Enjoy the peace of water lapping at the shore or the breeze passing the birches while reading in the hammock or rocking in a chair on the porch. A crackling fire will welcome you after an early morning or evening dip in the lake. Whatever your inclination, a variety of activities abound and you will have a memorable vacation at our family summer home.

Waterfront: The cottage has a private dock and floating raft, and fixed raft shared with our two adjacent cabins. The water is shallow at the shore with minimal beach. There is ample sandy shallow water swimming between the dock and raft. Kayaks, canoes & windsurfers can be easily accommodated, however we have no facilities for launching or mooring larger or motorized watercraft and the driveway cannot accommodate trailers. Public launch ramps are nearby. Kayaks & bikes may be rented in town.

Glen Lake is shallow for hundreds of feet which is great for the kids (be aware of swimmers itch) and we were able to moor our boat for the week just off shore to enjoy the entire lake (boat launch on Little Glen Lake). Close to downtown Glen Arbor for food, drinks and shopping. View of Sleeping Bear sand dunes from the fire pit. House was comfortable and modern on the inside and space for kids to play outside."

BRINGING THE KIDS? Ridge Way is located about 1/4 mile from Glen Arbor Township Park. The park has basketball courts, tennis courts, pickleball courts, and lots of playground equipment. In addition, bike rentals are available in downtown Glen Arbor.

Wouldn't recommend it for more than 2/3 people as the living area is limited. The firepit was an unexpected bonus space that we used both nights. Close to the road, but not much traffic at night so it didn't bother us. Definitely has hosted a dog or two (we found kibble and dog hair on the floor)."

A great vacation cottage located on Big Glen Lake's south side sandbar by the Narrows. The cottage consists of a main house and a four car garage with three bedrooms and two baths (Towers). Off the back of the house is a large two level deck with the most spectacular views of Big Glen Lake and Alligator Hill. There is a boat house down by the beach fully stocked with kayaks, paddleboards, life jackets, and many different kinds of toys for all ages. There is also a paddleboat and a boat mooring.

The main house has three bedrooms and two half baths (one is a shower and one is a toilet/sink in the two twin bedroom). There is a master bedroom with a queen bed, tons of closet space, and a master bath with a shower, oversized tub, and two sinks. The second bedroom has two twin beds with a half bath. The third bedroom has a bunk-beds with a trundle bed) Also in the main house is a living room, sunroom, kitchen, and dining area. Kitchen has built in appliances including a dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, and a trash compactor. In the basement is a washer and a dryer with a second refrigerator. There is a shower off of the kitchen and a full bath in the hallway, There are plenty of beach towels in the hallway closet.

Above the garage (Towers) there are three queen bedrooms and two full baths. There is another washer and dryer in the towers. In front of the garage is parking for four vehicles and the driveway can accommodate an additional three vehicles.

The property has 185' frontage and the water is perfect for small children. You can wade out in the clearest of water all the way to the Narrows, approximately 400 feet, where you will find one of the most popular spots on the lake. The dock is brand new and there is beautiful sandy beach as well as a large lawn area for people to relax by the water. Of course no beach would be complete without a nice fire pit to roast those marshmallows.

As this cottage is open all year it is also an excellent rental for hunters, snowmobilers, and skiers.(

Wildflower Depot sits on two tranquil acres of wildflowers under a canopy of trees. This lovingly restored 150-year-old train depot is a short stroll to beautiful Lake Michigan. The c.1880 historical Copemish train depot, known for the past several decades as the beloved Wildflowers Gift Shop, was moved to Bay Lane in 2021 from the outskirts of Glen Arbor.

The original structure has been renovated from top to bottom, including the addition of a gourmet eat-in kitchen with Wolf cooktop and oven, full-size stainless steel refrigerator, and dishwasher. Original details have been preserved, but the home has been updated with new custom windows, gas fireplace, bead board ceilings, and driftwood gray floors. The home is also equipped with a full-size washer and dryer.

A new addition has two bedrooms with queen beds and en-suite bathrooms, one with a walk-in shower and the other with double sinks and a soaking tub. Twin beds have a view of the treetops in a loft space which you can access by a built in ship's ladder by the hall bathroom.

- "This lovely old train depot makes an airy nest snuggled up against Sleeping Bear Bay. Steps from the very quiet and gorgeous beach, and tucked into very pretty woods not far from the Crystal River. I can’t say enough about how carefully and perfectly decorated this home is. It’s got super high ceilings, old tall ornate glass windows and hardwood floors. The owner has great taste and a real eye for mermaid and seaside art. The kitchen is spectacular, with top end brand new appliances. Very charming selection of unusual yet practical dishes and glassware gives you everything you could want from breakfast to cocktails under the stars. There are several lovely spots in the woods next to the house with a grill, fire pit and a hanging straw chair to cuddle into. I loved all the French design touches, and effort put into the gardens. Still a work in progress, but what’s there is terrific. Glen Arbor is a really wonderful up north small town we have visited before, but this place is the nicest we have ever seen in the area. The beach is a little stony, so if you have kids, bring water shoes. We went to a gourmet restaurant one night, grilled out a lot, and saw magnificent sunsets all week long. Beautiful and immaculate well-kept family cottage on the exclusive north shore of Big Glen Lake is being made available for the first time. Limited weeks are available for the summer. The property includes use of the main house, above garage sleeping area, yard, beach, and dock.

The main house sleeps 8 comfortably and the area above garage sleeps an additional 2 for a total of 10 people. There are 3 large bedrooms in the main house, all with queen beds. There are 4 full baths in the main house, 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs (no bathroom above the garage). Two of the bedrooms are master suites with full connecting baths, one upstairs and one downstairs. The upstairs master has a sliding door to a private 2nd floor deck. The loft space above the living room has two rollout beds, perfect for kids. There is a large dining room table to accommodate a big family adjacent to the cozy fireplace sitting area. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to prepare meals if dining in.

The expansive lakeside deck offers two seating areas to enjoy the beautiful Glen Lake views and warm afternoon sun. The deck also has a large grill for those interested in cooking outside.

There is a small sand beach down by the lake with sun chairs and a dock to enjoy the water’s edge and soak up the Michigan sun. The north shore is known for its very shallow water. Once past a small boat passage/trench, one could walk many yards into the lake and remain in only waist deep water. This unique feature limits boat traffic by the beach making it very private and safe for swimmers. Enjoy the firepit on the beach for those late evening sunsets and cool evenings.
The cottage is 2 miles from downtown Glen Arbor, well within walking, running or biking distance via the beautiful and low traffic Northwood Dr. In town you will find, restaurants, shops, and public access to Lake Michigan. The cottage is also located a short distance from the famed Sleeping Bears National Lakeshore and Glen Haven public beaches on Lake Michigan. There are miles of paved walking, running and biking trails located within the park, but they can also be accessed only 1 mile from the cottage off Fisher Rd. The head waters of the Crystal river can also be found where the trailhead meets Fisher Rd (1 mile from the cottage). The Crystal River is a clear, shallow river traveling mostly through national forest land eventually ending in Lake Michigan. Bring your kayak or rent in town from one of the outfitters. Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive is only miles away, offering some of Lake Michigan’s highest vistas.

If you would like to bring your boat, there is a dock in shallow water that can be used to onload and offload passengers and gear. It is not recommended that you tie off on the dock as the area is very shallow, rocky and often has waves. Small watercraft such as kayaks and SUP’s are suitable for mooring at the dock. Any boat moored to the dock or by anchor could be damaged if left unattended. The boatlift on premises is not available for use by tenants and will be locked. We recommend storing any boat during the week at either of the two marines on Big Glen. The public launch is located on Little Glen and the two lakes are connected. If you like to fish, Perch and Pike can be found in Little Glen, Big Glen and Fisher Lake. All three lakes are connected by water ways.

This beautiful lake property will provide the perfect setting for your family vacation providing many wonderful memories from all the area has to offer.

The 1938 Modern cabin was designed by eminent Chicago architect Harry Weese for his parents while in architecture school. It is a notable early example of a style that became popular and known as mid-centry modern. The wall of glass embracing the lake is the focal point for open-plan living, dining & cooking. Furnishings have been updated in keeping with its historic character.

Down a private drive, a short distance east of the Narrows Bridge, it is Ideally located adjacent to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Whatever your inclination, a variety of activities abound and you will have a memorable vacation at our family summer home.

Waterfront: The cottage has a private dock and floating raft, and fixed raft shared with our two adjacent cabins. The water is shallow at the shore with minimal beach. There is ample sandy shallow water swimming between the dock and raft. Kayaks, canoes & windsurfers can be easily accommodated, however we have no facilities for launching or mooring larger or motorized watercraft and the driveway cannot accommodate trailers. Public launch ramps are nearby. Kayaks & bikes may be rented in town.

Come enjoy the best of beautiful Glen Lake and surrounding areas with a stay at Happy Ours. Our house has been in our family for five generations. It features four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Each bathroom has a shower. The bedrooms are as follows: BR 1 = 1 queen with lake view. BR 2 = 1 queen and 2 twin beds (in trundle pull out) with lake view. BR 3 = 2 twin beds in trundle pull-out. BR 4 = Queen bed with cable TV.
There is a large living room area with beautiful stone fireplace and a game table. There is a second sitting area on the enclosed porch; both with full lake views. The kitchen has a spacious eating area. There is a lovely deck to enjoy the wonderful view of the beach and lake.
At the beach there is a fire pit to enjoy campfires and s'mores. You may enter the water from shore to enjoy the gently sloped, firm sandy bottom. Or you may choose to enter from the steps at the end of the dock for a short swim to the raft. We also allow use of our two kayaks, aluminum row boat, and paddle boat.

Prime time months, we rent Saturday to Saturday. Spring and Fall we rent Friday to Friday.

We are thrilled to welcome guests into this little “home away from home” hideaway by the lake and hope the cozy space we’ve created in our Little Glen cottage is just what the doctor ordered. Guests will get a glimpse of what the idyllic Glen Lake area offers.

About the space:
Situated right on M22, just steps away from Little Glen Lake with its sparkling pristine blue waters, this charming 1940’s beach cottage wields easy and spontaneous access to the lake by simply walking across the street. This four bedroom, 1.5 bath (plus an outdoor shower) is the perfect lakeside reserve to kick off your shoes and relax . Upon entering, a charming and colorful palette with a vintage vibe provide the utmost in cottage comfort. The main floor includes rattan and comfy white chairs and sofa, large windows that provide the most gorgeous views of the lake, (watch the sunset from your own living room!) vintage french doors to the back hallway that leads to a queen bedroom with a private half bath, and a second bedroom with 2 twin beds, and a completely renovated full bath. Upstairs are two more bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with two twins. Each bedroom has its own streaming tv so guests may retreat to their rooms for privacy and rest after a long day of fun. We use fresh white bedding and ensure all bedding is cleaned with each new stay (including duvets). The Shaye hideaway kitchen has been updated to include modern amenities while still retaining a vintage lakehouse feel with a drink fridge, coffee bar, apron sink and new Kohler faucets including one reverse osmosis water faucet for clean drinking water. The well equipped kitchen includes a table to seat 8, or extend the options for gathering for meals to the outdoors to the front deck with spectacular views of the lake, or out back for dining in privacy in a pretty wooded setting. Guests will also have access to the outdoor shower (one of our favorite things at the cottage), lounge chairs by the lake, your own private dock, 4 paddle boards, life jackets, and a ping pong table in the garage for more family entertainment.

The Shaye Hideaway features interior design by local Glen Arbor interior designer, Houtteman Interiors, and also features Serena and Lilly furniture and light fixtures, Tibault and Meg Braff wallpaper, goods by Studio McGee, NeXtime-usa.com clocks, artwork by Scout Design Studio, custom painted vintage Thomasville bamboo furniture, plus more cool vintage treasures.

Your private access to Little Glen Lake is just a few steps across the street (National Geographic once called it one of the most beautiful lakes in the world). Hiking and biking galore, pristine Lake Michigan access, Crystal River (fun rafting and kayaking adventures), cute shops in Glen Arbor, vineyards and distilleries, in addition to our beloved Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes and the crystal clear and iridescent blue Big and Little Glen Lakes, all draws families and couples throughout the Midwest and beyond. The Christensen's "O.C." (Original Cottage) was the owners first foothold in Glen Arbor, a town they've fallen in love with. This cottage has a huge amount of original charm, with one cozy bedroom with king bed, a loft with 2 twins, and a sleeper sofa in the living room. It has a well appointed kitchen, laundry area and bath with a newly tiled shower It sits on a large 100' lot with a spacious back yard, patio with gas grill and fire pit. And it's right in the heart of Glen Arbor.

There is one bathroom, a washer and dryer, and two bedrooms each with a queen bed. The bedrooms have closets for storage.

High speed Wi-Fi and a work desk with office chair are available in the cottage - just in case!

For the outdoors, there is a table with 4 chairs and 4 additional outdoor chairs that can be used at the fire pit behind the cottage.

This cozy, two bedroom cottage located in the center of Glen Arbor is the perfect place to call home while exploring Leelanau County and the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. A three minute walk to the sandy shore of Lake Michigan, convenient walking distance to all of the town’s shops and restaurants and easy access to the Heritage Bike Trail.

The space
Our cottage is located in the backyard of Glen Arbor Wines. You will have a designated parking space out front of the winery, and it’s about a 30 yard walk through the backyard to the cottage. A large privacy fence surrounds the cottage, giving you all the privacy you need. The backyard of the winery has a bocce ball court and badminton/volleyball net and gas fire pits that you are welcome to use during your stay. There is also a private wood fire pit behind the cottage available for you.

Our space comfortably sleeps five guests; we have a king bed in one room and a queen on bottom/twin on top bunk bed in the other. All beds have comfortable memory foam mattresses. If you are traveling with an infant, there is a pack n play available for your use.

The cottage has a mini split in the main living area which provides AC. The bedrooms do not have AC. Fans are available for use in each bedroom.

The kitchen is well stocked but we do not have a dishwasher at this time. There is also no washer/dryer.

The TV is a smart tv but we do not have regular cable.

One other thing to note, although we do not allow dogs - there have been dogs inside the cottage in the past and we want anyone with allergies to be aware of this.

Other things to note
The winery is open until 10pm, so there might be some noise up until then. There will also be live music a few times a week, always ending by 9pm. On the rare occasion the winery may host a private event in the backyard. This would mean more noise later into the night. Please reach out to me if you have questions about this.

My husband and I live in Glen Arbor. Although we are close by, we do not plan on face to face interaction (unless you need anything), as we know privacy is important for relaxing and enjoying your vacation.

Charming cottage with two bedrooms and two baths adjacent to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore forest. Across the street from Glen Lake at southern end of the Narrows. Lake Michigan beaches and dunes are two miles down the road. Public access to Big and Little Glen Lakes lies within walking distance, and some of the best road biking in the Midwest begins at the end of your driveway. Weekly rentals June through August starting on Saturdays. Two night minimum during rest of year.

The space
Walk your kayak or SUP to the Narrows and hop in. Begin a bike ride at your door and head to Glen Arbor village center to catch the Heritage Trail--or head northeast on MacFarlane for a challenging ride past Inspiration Point, around Big Glen Lake to the Crystal River and the Heritage Trail.

The cottage has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a screened-in porch. Outside there is a fire pit, back deck and front patio.

Rents Saturday to Saturday in the summer. Check in 4PM - check out 11 AM. House is just across Little Glen Lake from Sleeping Bear Dunes and the Dune Climb with Big and Little Glen Lakes across the street. Boat rentals available in walking distance. Bring kayaks and walk to public access on the Narrows Bridge.

Superb biking. Major hills surround the house, including on MacFarlane and a series of seven ascents on Benzonia, but equally possible to reach the Heritage Trail bike path stretching from Empire to Good Harbor Bay without a single significant climb by riding into Glen Arbor and catching the Heritage Trail there.

This new construction home makes 884 sqft feel both cozy and spacious. With 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, our cottage is ideal for a family of 5 or up to 4 adults. Water & Views! Our lakeside summer cottage sits on the south shore of Big Glen Lake. A comfortable family retreat with panoramic views over turquoise water, a private dock, & shared raft for your water-based activities.

The 1938 Modern cabin was designed by eminent Chicago architect Harry Weese for his parents while in architecture school. It is a notable early example of a style that became popular and known as mid-centry modern. The wall of glass embracing the lake is the focal point for open-plan living, dining & cooking. Furnishings have been updated in keeping with its historic character.

Down a private drive, a short distance east of the Narrows Bridge, it is Ideally located adjacent to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Relax, enjoy your vacation at our bright, comfortable cottage. The large living area with fireplace has a dining table for 8 and a selection of comfortable seating. The adjacent screen porch has teak furniture & a table for snacking, dinner or games. Step out to the ample deck with lounge chairs. All areas overlook the crystal clear, spring fed lake. Four cozy bedrooms will accommodate 5-8.

The Cottage: Enjoy the peace of water lapping at the shore or the breeze passing the birches while reading in the hammock or rocking in a chair on the porch. A crackling fire will welcome you after an early morning or evening dip in the lake. Whatever your inclination, a variety of activities abound and you will have a memorable vacation at our family summer cottage.

Waterfront: The cottage has a private dock and floating raft, and fixed raft shared with our two adjacent cabins. The water is shallow at the shore with minimal beach. There is ample sandy shallow water swimming between the dock and raft. Kayaks, canoes & windsurfers can be easily accommodated, however we have no facilities for launching or mooring larger or motorized watercraft and the driveway cannot accommodate trailers. Public launch ramps are nearby. Kayaks & bikes may be rented in town.

Guest access
This classic summer cottage fronting Glen Lake is entirely yours. It is the middle one of 3 family cabins along the lake with unimproved grounds at either end. Each cottage has its own dock in front, and parking area at the back off the shared drive.

A narrow path runs in front, lakeside, joining the cabins. It is traveled when family is present in all 3 cottages. That use is curtailed and guest privacy is respected during your visit.

A path runs in back, woodside, joining the cabins, This is used more frequently when family is vacationing. Use of this path is also curtailed.

Other things to note
SLEEPING: The cottage sleeps 8 with a maximum of 2 guests (children and adults) in each bedroom. The bed configuration is such that, depending on your preferences, you may be more comfortable with fewer occupants. The bedrooms are compact and only the bunk room may be able to accommodate a small pack'n'play. Please advise if this is of interest when requesting a stay. There are no additional sleeping accommodations in the large open plan living and dining area.

Ships Haven

Ships Haven is located on Lake Michigan, however, you will be within walking distance of all Glen Arbor has to offer! Enjoy 72 feet of lake frontage on Sleeping Bear Bay and a wooded deck with an outdoor dining area for four and a propane grill. There is a firepit right on the beach along with a beautiful wooded swing. The sunroom offers extraordinary views, a comfortable sofa, and a six-person round table. Spend a quiet evening at home watching a favorite show on the flatscreen TV. When mealtime comes around, a well-appointed kitchen with stainless steel appliances awaits.

Bear North is a 3 bedroom cottage that sits on 100' of Lake Michigan beach frontage just 3/4 mile from downtown Glen Arbor. The air-conditioned cottage has an updated kitchen and baths, generous seating in common areas and a large lakeside deck with gas grill. The private location offer plenty of peace and quiet and it a great launching point for all of the area's treasures.

Note: 3rd bedroom and bath is in the lower level and accessed via an outside entrance.
