The Falling Rock cafe is just a block away for fresh coffee, hand dipped ice cream, friendship, old books and local entertainment. The cottage will be immaculately clean upon your arrival. The cottage has a 'Pottery Barn-like style, with its' tasteful furnishings and interior decorations, which makes it irresistably inviting.

We have limited parking here. We can park two vehicles max, no trailers or snowmobiles.

- "This cottage was perfect for my 3 generation girl trip (teenage daughter, myself, and my mom). The cottage itself was adorable. Bright, cozy, and enough space for all of us. Everything was immaculate, and the linens/dishes were brand new. We used the kitchen well, cooking dinner a few nights. While the location was a 3 minute walk to town, the outdoor space still seemed private being set back from the road. The view out the kitchen window of the lake was a bonus. I honestly cannot say enough about this property. I even told my mom I could live here full-time."

Pictured Rocks Family Rentals welcomes you to The Pines! Quaint lakefront cottage on Furnace Lake. It is conveniently located right off M28 in Christmas, less than 5 miles from downtown Munising, the beginning of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. There are 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. Our cottage offers 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, and 2 full beds. Come up to enjoy Pictured Rocks & numerous waterfalls in the area. Only 2 blocks from Christmas ORV/snowmobile trailhead.

Central air conditioning was added to the home on the summer of 2021. The second bedroom here is a little odd, it used to be a jacuzzi tub room. The jacuzzi tub was removed, and now there is a bed in there. The room still has a toilet and sink in it. We have added a curtain to block toilet view from bed. While it is unusual, we think it is worth keeping to have an extra lavatory for larger groups. The third bedroom is a heated 4 season porch bedroom with both a queen bed and a full bed in it. We added a tankless water heater in January 2024, now there is unlimited hot water, so nobody has to dread being the last one to take a shower :) The home has a beautiful view (especially for evening sunsets!) overlooking Furnace Lake and is very quiet and peaceful. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Included with your stay is a row boat and a couple kayaks. The red outbuilding closest to the garage has some life jackets, oars, and the kayaks in it. Up to 2 dogs are allowed with preapproval, but there is a $75 non refundable pet fee that will need to be added.

Guests have full access to the home, garage, red outbuilding next to garage, and yard. The red outbuilding near the road is not available to guests.

We live nearby if you should need anything, but will not come over unless asked to. If you have any questions or concerns, please message through the app or call me if an emergency.

The neighborhood is an area of cottages and year round homes. It is quiet and private, and quiet time is from 10 pm to 8 am. The home is within walking distance to Foggy's Steakhouse, Kewadin Casino and gas station/party store. The trailhead for area ATVs/snowmobiles is only 2 blocks away and can be ridden to from home.

-Signed rental agreement and security deposit hold required for all reservations. Primary guest will need to send a picture of government issued ID and list names and ages of all other guests in their group.
-No parties or events allowed
-Quiet time is from 10 pm to 8 am
-No smoking allowed in the home, outside and in garage is ok. Please properly dispose of butts. $250 fine for smoking inside home
-There are 2 exterior audio/video recording security devices that are on 24/7, and motion activated. One faces the entry doors going into home and the garage, while the other one faces the driveway from the corner of the porch/entry door.

- "This rental was very cozy and spacious. Had many amenities. Beds were comfortable to sleep in. I usually wake up with a crick in my neck when not sleeping in my own bed, but thankfully, I never did here. The location was in between everywhere we visited and extremely easy to find. Loved that it had well water and not chemicalized city water. And I can't praise our host Danielle enough. She went above and beyond with the quick replies to our questions. We ran out of propane within the first day of our stay, and she was over with a full tank before I could blink haha! Silver lining is that I was able to meet her face-to-face and have a pleasant chat with her for a bit. We all highly recommend staying at this rental or any of their other ones just based on the perfect hospitality we experienced. This is a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath vacation cottage with a beautiful view of Munising Bay and located right next door to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. It boasts a nice fire pit patio in the front yard to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. It sleeps 4 comfortably but can accommodate up to 6 (+$10 per night for 5th and 6th guest). Pictured Rocks Cottage provides you with Wi-Fi and internet streaming TV. All linens are provided for you along with kitchen essentials for when you catch that big king salmon across the street at the fishing pier. Come and enjoy the grandeur of the Pictured Rocks while staying at the Pictured Rocks Cottage. In the winter, hop on your snowmobile in the driveway and you can be on public trails in less than a mile. For hikers, the North Country Trail passes by the front door! And you are less than a mile from downtown Munising with plenty of food options and local breweries.

Please note that in the winter we do have someone that plows the driveway, but it will be up to the guests to keep the short path in front of the door clear. There are snow shovels available by the door. Sorry, no pets...

Time Out Cottage - Located off of the Doe Lake Road, approximately 12 miles from Munising.

Everybody needs a little 'Time Out' once in a while. This hand crafted cedar log cabin has been our time out and we would like to share it with you. This is a family log cabin, built together from logs off of the property. It has 3 bedrooms and 1-1/2 baths and a large loft area; kitchen and living room surrounded by a wrap around covered porch. The interior is knotty pine with oak flooring and carpeted bedrooms. The cabin is heated by a gas fireplace. Wireless internet and satellite TV is included for your entertainment. There is a land line phone for local calls and limited cell phone service if you stand in the right spot. The cabin sleeps 10 guests max. Sit on the porch and enjoy the quiet, or within a short drive find excellent fishing, hunting, waterfalls, and site seeing. Located in the heart of the Hiawatha national forest provides miles of forest service roads to cruise in your ATV's. There is a fire pit with benches and horse shoe stakes. There are toys for the Kids and a VCR movie collection.

This 2 bedroom 1 bathroom cottage has one double bed in each bedroom and one full bath. There is a full kitchen with microwave, stove, full size refrigerator, coffee pot, toaster and everything you need to cook except for the food. The living room has a full size sleeper sofa that can sleep up to 2 additional people. The cottage is approximately 650 sq ft.

This cottage is located just 2.5 miles east of Munising on M-28. It is close to all area attractions. It is part of the Alger Falls Motel so there is someone on site from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. if you need additional housekeeping items of any kind or area information.

Our cottage is a cozy, two-story Cape Cod which includes all the conveniences of home with the sights, sounds and surroundings of Lake Superior. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with a new stove and refrigerator. There are beds to sleep 6, which includes a bedroom downstairs with a full bed and an upstairs loft with 1 full bed and 2 twin beds. In addition to the full bathroom there is a sauna with wood burning stove and an extra shower that allows for bigger groups to get ready quicker. The large wood deck off the back of the cottage has a charcoal barbeque grill and picnic table. The use of our detached garage is available. Evenings can be enjoyed sitting next to a camp fire.

Updated bathroom with a new sink/cabinet, toilet and flooring. All linens, towels and bedding are available for your convenience. Please bring your own beach towels. A washer and dryer are also available. The cottage has a television with Fire Stick and DVD player. There is WiFi service. The phone is available for local calls and 911 services.

- "This charming cottage was a perfect homebase for our weeklong UP August vacation. Right on the property we enjoyed views of Grand Island, Sun and Moon rises, strolls on the beach, dinners on the deck, campfire, black bear sighting and the Northern lights! Our host was incredibly gracious with quick responses and helpful guidance. The yard is nicely landscaped and maintained. We appreciated the Adirondack chairs and took those down to the beach. The place was tidy with lots of fresh linens, fully equipped kitchen and grill with tools. While we didn't take advantage of the sauna, the sauna shower was fabulous! Highly recommend!"

Stays must be a minimum of 30 days per our zoning rules. It is preferred that your stay runs from the 1st of the month to the end of that month... If you need different stay dates please inquire as during off times, we might be able to make it work. We are not currently renting during the winter months, but if you are interested, please contact me first.

Cancellations must be made 90 days prior to arrival date for a refund less cancellation fee.

- "The cabin was extremely well kept, and amenities were perfect. Trails on property take you to the water falls. Just a quick trip into downtown. It’s a great spot" - "Great cabin. The layout was just right to give our group room to spread out. When we arrived, we couldn't figure out why the kitchen only had three of everything (3 plates, 3 wine glasses, 3 forks, etc.) for a unit that claims to sleep six. Then we opened the dishwasher and found the remaining tableware (unfortunately unwashed). Everything else in the unit was clean, but discovering that definitely made us look twice at the rest of the unit. Overall, it's a nice property in a great location. There just seem to be some final touches still to be made."

- "Need many things to organize & finish. It is new & clean. Not ON the trail. The trail is assessable along a 4-lane highway. Trailer area is 10 min drive away. Problem getting hot water, not having correct room, no closet, dresser or hooks so could put anything away. Would consider again later in the future. "

Our camp is located just a few minutes from Munising and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. You will feel like you are in your own little private neck of the woods, but you are only minutes from all the sites and activities the Munising area has to offer.

EV and diesel vehicles are charged $10 a day to plug in. No guests can be added later. Thank you kindly.

Other things to note
We have a key box on side door. Please request combination before your arrival. In most instances home will be open upon arrival w/ welcome letter on the table explaining satellite, wifi, garbage, Netflix etc.. Keys will be on the table too. Let us know you will be arriving late and we will leave extra lights on.
