This is the one and only guest cottage on our property, which we adore but are rarely able to visit. As such, it gives you access to a very private dock, a comfortably furnished screened gazebo, three kayaks, a lakeside fire pit, a smart TV and other toys we're happy to share.

Built in the '90s, the cottage is bright, cozy and modern. It's an open layout, with no interior walls except around the spacious bathroom. You'll have access to WI-FI, Roku, a gas fireplace, a microwave, a patio with outdoor seating, and all the normal amenities.

But by far the biggest selling point is the generous stretch of lakefront (166 ft.) you'll find here for your private enjoyment. Just sitting in one of the comfy chairs on the dock and watching the eagles, herons, loons, otters, ducks and other wildlife go by... It's hard to put into words how glorious this little corner of the world can be. The level frontage and sandy shoreline afford easy lakefront access to anyone who might have trouble with more than a step or two.

Our favorite spot is the screened gazebo we added in 2021, which provides a shady spot to read or snooze during the day and a bug-free outdoor space at night.

If boating is part of your plan, the dock can easily handle your fishing or pontoon boat. With 1,100 acres of water, the Shishebogama/Gunlock lake chain is great for fishing, cocktail-cruising, sailing and kayaking. (We like to kayak from our place to the Black Bear Bar.)

While the cottage is only about a third of a mile north of HWY 70 (and 6.5 miles west of downtown Minocqua), there is very little drive-by traffic on this horseshoe drive. It's a residential neighborhood with no other rental units that we know of. We have year-round residents living on both sides of us. So this is most definitely NOT a party place. It's important to us that our guests act like good neighbors and respect the rights of others.

PLEASE NOTE: The minimum stay during 2025 peak season (June 13 to September 5) is seven nights, usually running Friday to Friday. Before and after those dates, there is a three-night minimum stay.

- "This is the loveliest rental we have ever had, very tastefully decorated and supplied with all the essentials one would need (except bring your own towels). The cabin is larger than it seems in the photos, the yard is park-like, and the gazebo — well, it’s just wonderful. The boat is very leaky, though, so be prepared for that. I think the place is better suited for couples than for families, as kids couldn’t have their own room(s), there’d be little room to play indoors, and there isn’t a beach. The location is ideal — central to everything “up north” has to offer. Finally, while internet and cell phone service were great, we were not able to get our Netflix code to work (perhaps that has to do with Netflix’s recent crackdown on sharing codes?), but we could find things to watch on YouTube and the Roku channel. We appreciated excellent communication with the owner, and the thorough notebook to read upon arrival. Thank you!"

Lakefront cottage will accommodate 5 people with two bedrooms. Formally a part of Sunset Ridge Resort, now under new ownership. Sleeping arrangements include one full size bed, two twin beds and a futon. Both bedrooms feature closets and nice sized windows. There are open rafters with cathedral ceilings from bedrooms to Living room. The interior boasts real tongue and groove wood walls of yesteryear with beamed ceilings. Cottage has a freshly renovated bathroom with a vanity and full size shower stall. This floor plan is an open concept for the living room, dinette, and kitchen (with stove and refrigerator). New flooring in Living room The enclosed porch/sun-room overlooks the lake and connects to your own private deck. A free-standing charcoal grill is available for guest use off the deck. Experience a truly quiet and relaxing setting amongst the mature trees. You will encounter plenty of wildlife, including: bald eagles, sand hill cranes, ducks, geese, deer, and nesting loons. This clear water two lake chain (connecting to Gunlock Lake) has approximately 1,000 acres with an island and many bays. This is one of the best lakes for water quality in Oneida County. Fishing is excellent for the musky, northern pike, walleye, bass, crappies, bluegills, and sunfish. The cottage is about 75 feet from the shoreline, so bring your reading materials and/or just relax & refresh yourself. The star-filled night skies are brilliant and inspiring. Take a refreshing dip in the lake or canoe/kayak along the shorelines. A row boat, a paddleboat, and a canoe are available for guest use upon request. Horseshoe pit and basketball hoop on property. The resort is only 5 miles from downtown Minocqua, 10 miles to casino, near lots of hiking trails, and right down the road from the wilderness wildlife zoo.

The Stateroom at Hidden Harbor Resort is a large two bedroom Lake Home overlooking a Protected Boat Harbor, Resort grounds and Big Beautiful Beach. Bed linens are included but patrons are to bring their own towels, wash cloths, and kitchen cloths and paper products.

This is indeed a summer cottage and the all the fun quirks that go along with it. It's not the Ritz rather this is a cottage to simply kick back and enjoy the simple things.

Located on Shishebogama Lake, part of the Shish/Gunlock chain of over 1,200 acres. Cottage is 1,000 sq. feet. Level lot with sandy 100' frontage. Good fishing (shhh...) off 95' pier. 3 bedrooms, outdoor grill, fire pit. Includes a row boat and canoe.

We love furry friends, but we are NOT able to accommodate pets.

Our cottage has 100 feet of private water frontage. Neighbors' cottages are about 100 feet away, separated by a woods. Property is part lawn and part wooded on a Private Drive.

Our cottage on Lake Minocqua is ideally located to enjoy the walkability and atmosphere of island life! Keep your boat at our pier during your stay and enjoy the chain of lakes, stroll around town, or simply sit on the deck and watch the boats go by. We made great efforts to restore the character of our cottage by salvaging and refinishing much or the original woodwork, while modernizing some features for a comfortable experience! We think you'll love this island gem!

Every feature of our cottage has been deliberately chosen. From making our own kitchen cabinets, refinishing many pieces of furniture, salvaging the original trim and doors to the design of our one of a kind bathroom! We have so many favorite things about the house, but we love hearing why YOU love it so much! :-) That is our favorite part of hosting.

Other things to note
We have two homes on our property. This one is in the front, with superior views of the lake. Pets are welcome, however there is no backyard with this home. There is a small front yard but we prefer that this small yard is not used for dogs to go to the bathroom, to keep it looking nice. Therefore, if you do bring a dog you should expect to walk the dog for bathroom breaks. Walking the shoreline across the road is a good option, and there is a piece of publicly owned vacant land just down the shoreline that makes a great spot for pups to do their thing. Of course, please bring a bag and pick up after your furry friends wherever they go :-)
