Location, location, location. This two bedroom house is situated on Lake Minocqua and is mere blocks from downtown! While close to the heart of the city, the cabin has scenic views, lake access and is backed by a large wooded area (so it would not be a surprise to see a family of deer during your stay). You are within minutes of many of the local restaurants, bars as well as retail shops. It is also walking distance to the local beach and water sports rentals.

"Lincoln's Lakeside" has been outfitted with rustic style furnishings to bring you right into the coziness and charm of the Northwoods. The property was very clean and had everything we needed. The backside of the home is on a dead end road which was nice for our kids to play outside. The dock is close to the boat landing so it was super easy to get our boat in and out and to go park our truck right back behind the house before we left on the boat. The view was amazing and we enjoyed sitting on the front porch having our morning coffee. We even had a little chipmunk visitor. There were also deer behind the home and we were lucky enough to see a doe and her two fawn. Check in was super easy and the host was very helpful and responded immediately to my questions. This is the one and only guest cottage on our property, which we adore but are rarely able to visit. As such, it gives you access to a very private dock, a comfortably furnished screened gazebo, three kayaks, a lakeside fire pit, a smart TV and other toys we're happy to share.

Built in the '90s, the cottage is bright, cozy and modern. It's an open layout, with no interior walls except around the spacious bathroom. You'll have access to WI-FI, Roku, a gas fireplace, a microwave, a patio with outdoor seating, and all the normal amenities.

But by far the biggest selling point is the generous stretch of lakefront (166 ft.) you'll find here for your private enjoyment. Just sitting in one of the comfy chairs on the dock and watching the eagles, herons, loons, otters, ducks and other wildlife go by... It's hard to put into words how glorious this little corner of the world can be. The level frontage and sandy shoreline afford easy lakefront access to anyone who might have trouble with more than a step or two.

Our favorite spot is the screened gazebo we added in 2021, which provides a shady spot to read or snooze during the day and a bug-free outdoor space at night.

If boating is part of your plan, the dock can easily handle your fishing or pontoon boat. With 1,100 acres of water, the Shishebogama/Gunlock lake chain is great for fishing, cocktail-cruising, sailing and kayaking. (We like to kayak from our place to the Black Bear Bar.)

While the cottage is only about a third of a mile north of HWY 70 (and 6.5 miles west of downtown Minocqua), there is very little drive-by traffic on this horseshoe drive. It's a residential neighborhood with no other rental units that we know of. We have year-round residents living on both sides of us. So this is most definitely NOT a party place. It's important to us that our guests act like good neighbors and respect the rights of others.

PLEASE NOTE: The minimum stay during 2025 peak season (June 13 to September 5) is seven nights, usually running Friday to Friday. Before and after those dates, there is a three-night minimum stay.

- "This is the loveliest rental we have ever had, very tastefully decorated and supplied with all the essentials one would need (except bring your own towels). The cabin is larger than it seems in the photos, the yard is park-like, and the gazebo — well, it’s just wonderful. The boat is very leaky, though, so be prepared for that. I think the place is better suited for couples than for families, as kids couldn’t have their own room(s), there’d be little room to play indoors, and there isn’t a beach. The location is ideal — central to everything “up north” has to offer. Finally, while internet and cell phone service were great, we were not able to get our Netflix code to work (perhaps that has to do with Netflix’s recent crackdown on sharing codes?), but we could find things to watch on YouTube and the Roku channel. We appreciated excellent communication with the owner, and the thorough notebook to read upon arrival. Thank you!"

Kandace has spent some 50 years in the Northwoods spending summers in various cottages owned by her family in Eagle River, then St. Germain and finally now in the Minocqua area. The original 20 acres that would become Lindwood was purchased on May 13, 1996. By the time the property was named Lindwood, the family had acquired some 40 acres of pristine timberland in Oneida County. It was her Father’s vision to create an estate for his children and future generations to enjoy.

The family name “Lind” comes from the German word “linta” meaning linden tree or lime tree. The original bearer would therefore have been one who dwelt “near the lime tree” or “at the sign of the lime tree”. A coat of arms was granted to the Lind family of Sweden in 1575 and contains three leaves sprouting from a log in base proper. Thus the name Lindwood seemed appropriate and embraces the spirit of adventure and resolution that those forefathers brought to a new land.

Sunset Bay is a family resort resting in a quiet bay on Lake Minocqua - right off Hwy. 51 (some highway noise) and just one-mile south from downtown Minocqua. The convenient location means you are only a short distance from hiking and biking trails, tennis, golf, horseback riding, shopping and fine dining.

The resort features a swimming beach, swim raft, fish cleaning house and plenty of dock space to park your boat (boat rental not included) and trailer for the duration of your stay. The famous Minocqua chain of four lakes is a fisherman's paradise teeming with a variety of fish such as Musky, Walleye, Bass, Northern Pike and panfish.

Please note that that this unit is not air-conditioned (window air conditions are not allowed) but equipped with ceiling, table fans and windows.

We do not offer boat rentals, but rentals are available in town. There is not a boat launch on premises, the closest launch is located in town by the Minocqua library.

We do welcome smaller dogs breeds (pet fee applies), please forward the breed of your dog prior to booking for approval.

Cabin features swimming pier with raft, and fishing piers, gas fireplace, air conditioning, cable TV , Wireless internet and DVD Player. Lakefront cottage will accommodate 5 people with two bedrooms. Formally a part of Sunset Ridge Resort, now under new ownership. Sleeping arrangements include one full size bed, two twin beds and a futon. Both bedrooms feature closets and nice sized windows. There are open rafters with cathedral ceilings from bedrooms to Living room. The interior boasts real tongue and groove wood walls of yesteryear with beamed ceilings. Cottage has a freshly renovated bathroom with a vanity and full size shower stall. This floor plan is an open concept for the living room, dinette, and kitchen (with stove and refrigerator). New flooring in Living room The enclosed porch/sun-room overlooks the lake and connects to your own private deck. A free-standing charcoal grill is available for guest use off the deck. Experience a truly quiet and relaxing setting amongst the mature trees. You will encounter plenty of wildlife, including: bald eagles, sand hill cranes, ducks, geese, deer, and nesting loons. This clear water two lake chain (connecting to Gunlock Lake) has approximately 1,000 acres with an island and many bays. This is one of the best lakes for water quality in Oneida County. Fishing is excellent for the musky, northern pike, walleye, bass, crappies, bluegills, and sunfish. The cottage is about 75 feet from the shoreline, so bring your reading materials and/or just relax & refresh yourself. The star-filled night skies are brilliant and inspiring. We purchased the property a few years ago from Richard Marx the singer.This lake is very fun and very peaceful . 2 dogs are welcome we have a small fenced yard for them

It has an expansive side yard that is truly a Northwoods getaway with a beautiful view of Patricia Lake, 2 wonderful spots for evening campfires and lots of firewood. The wildlife is abundant- we saw so many kinds of birds, ducks, several kinds of squirrels, and were visited at our evening campfire by deer and a raccoon. The steps to the lake are lovely and newly done and we enjoyed fishing on the dock where my husband caught sunfish, largemouth and bluegill. They also have a nice collection of kayaks, paddle boards and canoes lakeside along with life jackets in the storage shed. Patricia Lake has no public access so you cannot bring your boat here. It is a quiet lake with no gasoline motors allowed. The inside is newly decorated and just lovely with everything you could need- plenty of fluffy towels and blankets. The kitchen is well stocked too. We stayed in the king bedroom and the bed was very comfortable. This rental is close to shopping and restaurants and just minutes from Woodruff and Minocqua. The owner is very accessible and quick to respond. If you want a Northwoods experience with peace and quiet this is it!!"

The suites are located within biking distance to the Bearskin Trail State Park which is a wonderful bicycle ride to Minocqua and beyond. Perfect location, walking distance to town, easy for boat rental. There is a great supper club downstairs with a friendly staff (btw: noise from the restaurant is not an issue at all)The property is clean and so unique. The beds are crazy comfortable, bunk room in great condition with lockers and vanity mirrors, showers and bathrooms in perfect shape. There is a huge bar to sit at, and a full kitchen with every appliance you can possibly imagine (including waffle maker, coffee machine, cereal bar, huge fridge/freezer, stove, dishwasher, etc etc). The kids loved the arcade games, ping pong, pool table, and access to a pier for boating and pictures. The Outdoor firepit on the patio overlooking the lake was very fun post dinner.
