- "Great, cozy little place for a winter trip. The cafe across the road was delicious along with the pizza place down the road. Parking lost and walk ways were always cleared and salted. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit. " - "Considering there are only two lodging establishments in this little tiny town, this was by far the best choice and most economical as well. It is rustic there is a stall shower but the lodge feeling of our room and the whole entire motel was perfect. It sits very close to the highway but being a very small town we never heard any noise at night from the road or traffic. In contrast the other establishment in town has a bar attached to it which is very noisy. We very much appreciated the fact that this was in a more residential area and it was quiet."

The pillows were small for a queen size bed, and also discolored. The price was fantastic, and if I’m in ever in the area again, I would stay again. But I’d bring my own pillow. Come enjoy a stunning, handcrafted log home, situated on well stocked, 63 acre semi-private lake. Although the official description is “cabin”, visitors invariably claim “Cabin? That is no cabin!”
While nestled in a large stand of red pines and birch trees, the girth of the cabin logs outsize the trees surrounding it. Visitors are immediately wooed onto the wrap-around deck providing a great perch to view the 400+ feet of shoreline. When you first enter the home you will be awed by the craftsmanship; from the log work in the 24 ft. high vaulted ceiling, to the local fieldstone fireplace. The antiques and cabin themed décor is just the icing on the cake.
our rate is based on 6 guests, but we allow up to 10. Additional fees apply for each guest over 6.
IInside you will find one bedroom on each of the three floors, providing a bit of solitude for each. The basement bedroom is decorated in the manner of old logging camps typical of the area. A handmade, reclaimed barnwood bunk bed is outfitted with new mattresses and can fit adults or children. Also in that room is a full sized sleigh bed. The room adjoins a well-appointed bathroom with a large shower and cozy woodland feel.
The main floor has an Eastern facing bedroom welcoming great sunrises over the lake. A walkout sliding door gives secluded, quiet access to the wrap around deck. The vaulted ceiling and fan, and two extra windows, allow sleeper to control the airflow in a myriad of ways. The bedroom is joined to the second full bath, with a vintage claw footed tub and reclaimed needle work art from area antique stores.
The loft bedroom is accessed by a lovely log stairwell. The view is stunning and the square footage impressive. The ½ bath provides a private place to get ready and for convenient restroom needs.
Besides these bedrooms, there is a hide-a-bed couch in the basement, and plenty of room for an extra air mattress. All together the house sleeps 10 people in beds (or hide-a-beds). Bring your own air mattress and linens if you require more sleeping arrangements. The main living area has plenty of seating (including around the dining table) and extra chairs are scattered around the home for use as well.
The owner can provide lots of ideas of things to do, but the local area supports hunters of all types, fishermen, snowmobilers, hikers, cross country skiers, antique hounds, and people who enjoy central Wisconsin in general. Day trip ideas will be provided in a separate excursion description. The lake is a private lake, but you can launch a boat with 10 hp max engine on a shared access across the lake.
Feel free to bring kayaks, canoes or paddle boats as well. The dock is outfitted with boat bumpers, a bench and a ladder for swimmers.
Our house is the only rental in the neighborhood. All of the residents are hard working folks and they aren't always happy when guests get a little rambunctious. Fireworks, music piped outside, drones, F'Bomb balloon fights, GUNS, blow up dolls....you have no idea. If you were looking to bust loose and have a "rambunctious" stay I might suggest you look for someplace a little more remote or in the heart of a vacation town. Ours is a quiet nights and working families raising-kids kind of neighborhood. You'll have a serene stay at our house and the neighbors appreciate this way.
This property has one security camera mounted on the garage recording only the driveway and front door.
- "What can I say? Excellent Excellent Excellent. This place was beautiful in every way. Great space for the family to spread out. It had everything you need to be right at home. Fishing was incredible. We caught over 40 fish but it was just for sport. We didn’t eat them . Kids had a blast in the clean clean water. Best place we ever stayed. You won’t be disappointed in any way. Stay here for your next vacation. Thanks to the owners for a great stay."

- "Beautiful accommodations in a gorgeous setting." - "The property was clean and tidy. The garage is nicer than some places I've stayed. According to the rest of the crew ALL the beds were comfortable. The atmosphere is like a cabin but the kitchen and bathrooms are modern. I HIGHLY recommend. We would stay there again." - "House was pristine. Exceptionally clean but warm and homey. The view of the lake was so relaxing and beautiful. Kitchen had all the items we needed to cook our meals. Plenty of blankets and pillows. Garage was so organized of water crafts but we weren't able to use them due to cold fall weather. Location of the home was perfect for us...a bit away from town in a sweet quiet neighborhood and walking distance from a restaurant. Note: the master bedroom mattress was much too soft for me and the dryer took longer than expected to dry clothes. Thank you for welcoming us in your home! It truly blessed our family!"

- "Had a wonderful weekend getaway. Everything posted was accurate to detail. Shed onsite with 2 kayaks and paddleboard. Great amenity. Too hot and windy for campfire but wood was onsite as well. Think we will definitely try and plan another trip." - "A little bit of a hunt to find the key. The owner was very responsive. Place was clean and welcoming. They were kind enough to have condiments and some bottles of water for us. Wish we actually stayed longer to enjoy the lake and hummingbirds a bit more!"

Welcome to the INN Good Spirit, The Sportsman's Bungalow! Situated with a lake view of Spirit Lake, WI. Spirit lake is known for fishing and recreating. Very close to bars/restaurants on Spirit Lake and a short 7 mile drive to Rib Lake. Perfect for a peaceful Northwoods stay or a Sportsman's retreat. Garbage for fish & game cleaning/disposal and UTV storage available to use. Full kitchen with appliances, satellite, wifi, private bedroom, queen pullout sofa and washer/dryer.
- "My husband and I brought our small dog and kayaks to get away from the Twin Cities and fell in love with the small cabin, isolated area that was about 20 min away from Rib Lake, and walking distance to Spirit Lake. Will definitely come back the next time we're looking for a quiet weekend away." - "Perfect size for us, who were visiting family 5 minutes away. Clean and really roomy. Had everything you need in the kitchen." - "This was a nice place, great land. Bugs were very bad due to water on the property so lawn spraying by owner or taking care of flooding would of been more ideal. Also, neighbors kept a beagle out all hours of day and night that barked constantly so that was difficult by no fault of the owner. A picnic table would be nice to be able to cook around the fire, the grill did not work and is rusted out with bugs in the bottom of it. Curtains in the bedroom and bathroom would be nice due to when neighbors are working in their backyard they can see into bathroom and bedroom. Overall easy stay with a clean home."

If you need to relax, unwind and get away from all your worries, we have the place for you. Come experience what life is like Up-North. Our home can be yours for a week of fishing, swimming, boating, hiking on the Ice Age trial, mountain biking on a rustic road, snowmobiling, hunting or just plain relaxation. You can wake up, walk onto the deck and see all that North Spirit Lake has to offer. Walk down to our beach, not fifty feet from the house, and go for a morning swim or wet a fishing line off our peer or boat. If you are an avid fisherman or just a beginner, North Spirit Lake is calling you. It contains plenty of panfish (bluegills and crappies) for the kids, while still giving you the chance to land a lunker with all its largemouth bass, walleye, northern pike and muskie. North Spirit Lake is 224 acres and 22 feet deep. Take a boat ride through a small channel and you can try Little Spirit Lake with its 126 acres. While enjoying the lake, be ready to witness all the wildlife that make this area their home, from the muskrat and beaver that swim in the lakes to the deer that walk down for a drink. Waterfowl like ducks and loons, frequent the lake, along with the majestic bald eagles that are often seen soaring overhead fishing for their supper.
If you choose to take a break from the lake, Our Up-North Home is surrounded by walking, biking and snowmobiling trails, including the beautiful, well-groomed Ice Age Trails. Right down the road is Timm’s Hill, the highest point in Wisconsin and one of USA Today’s 10 best places to snowshoe in the nation, with its trails and scenic landscape it is a must see. If you want to experience small, up-north town life, there are some that are short rides away, such as Rib Lake-6 miles and Tomahawk-23 miles. Just over an hour away is Hayward, the home of the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame and the Lumberjack World Championships.
Whatever you choose to do during the day, make sure you are back at Our Up-North Home in time to sit out on the back deck facing west to see the most gorgeous sunset over the lake and listen to the loons sing away the sun. When you finally decide to hit the hay, the 5 bedrooms and one full bathroom that our home has to offer will allow you, your entire family or friends to rest in comfort.
- "We had an amazing weekend, Nickole met us on Thursday and was exceptionally nice and accommodating! She even helped me carry my things into the cabin. The cabin was very comfortable and had load of room and all the necessary amenities. We rented the pontoon and spent the entire weekend relaxing on the lake and cruising around. There were no questions as far as where anything was or what we were to do upon departure, Nickole covered everything and then some for us. It was great to meet her and we look forward to possibly another weekend at her cabin."
