There are 6 windows across the river side of the cottage.
Summertime is great for fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing or paddle boating. Fall is a great time to take a bike ride on the Old Abe Bike Trail, fish on the Chippewa River or go hunting for local wildlife including squirrel, deer, bear, rabbits, fox, etc. just a short distance away.
Winter is great for snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and downhill skiing a short distance away.
Spring is a great time to watch the woods come alive after winter. Enjoy family activities such as biking, hiking, fishing and camp fires. Regardless of what season, or all, you intend to visit there is something for everyone.

It is located on Popple Lake which is a smaller lake with many natural beauties and is also located on a quiet dead end road.
The home is a brand new re-build (2020) and is within 1.5 hours East of Minneapolis.
The house is located in Jim Falls WI, which is only 30 min. from Eau Claire, 15 from Chippewa Falls and 15 from Bloomer.

Popple Lake is a 94 acre lake located in Chippewa County. It has a maximum depth of 25 feet. Visitors have access to the lake from a public boat landing. (No cost) Fish include Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye.

The property has beautiful views year round of the lake which can be seen throughout the home. The deck is located 20ft from the water, with a nice large dock with chairs, table, bench and stairs with a handle, into the water. It is a Great Lake for swimming and fishing.

The home is a 2 bedroom (queen bed in each room) and 1 bath, living room has 3 futons that can be used as sleeping space, with a Full kitchen. Large kitchen bar to gather at. We have many extras such as board games and TV with Hulu on it for the times you just want to stay in and relax.

VRBO outside amenities.
In the summer, there is an Aqua lily pad and 2 kayaks available (Life jackets provided) (use at own risk) These are included with your stay. The swim raft is NOT part of the VRBO. It is our neighbors, so please respect their property and not use.
There is a private dock out front of the house. Feel free to bring your own boat and park it at the dock during your stay.

In the winter you can ice fish, snowmobile, cross country ski or snow shoe around the lake. Must bring own equipment to do these activities. Nothing is provided at the house.

There is also an area to have a small outside fire. Wood is available at the rental. Please use wood respectfully, we do not charge an added fee for it. There are 6 bag chairs at the house in the closet to use for around the fire.

This property has a studio suite in the front of the house, closest to the road that is NOT part of the VRBO rental.
This is a private suite for the owners to use mostly in the off season when the VRBO is vacant. If it is occupied when the VRBO is being rented, the VRBO guest has full privacy of the yard and dock.
Each unit has a private entry and there is a laundry area between the units that is shared. Each unit has a locked door for privacy that leads to this laundry area.

The public boat landing is just a few minutes from the house.
You can ride your ATV from the driveway to reach trails, bars and restaurants. You can also catch your supper off the dock!

In the winter you can reach snowmobile trails from the lake and the lake is good for ice fishing.

If you needed any quick groceries or gas, their is a Cenex Convenience store in Jim Falls, just minutes away.
There is a wonderful country Bar/supper club within 5 minutes of the house called , “Old Abe’s Supper-club” Look it up to dine in or call for take out.
Also in Jim Falls there is a great bar called Jakes Jim Town Inn. He has great food and it is a nice home town bar.
A near by town to visit while you are in the area is Chippewa Falls. It has a small town feel but many things to do. One place the whole family would enjoy is, Irvine Park. It is a free park with a petting zoo and many hiking trails. They also have an outside Bear and Lion Den exhibit along with others misc. animals from monkeys to Buffalo.
You can take a walk downtown Chippewa and visit our great restaurants and along the way you will have to stop at a few hot spots like Olson’s Ice Cream and the candy store. Mason Shoe Store is a popular place to go along with some other boutique shops in town for the shoppers of the group.
Chippewa Falls is also the home of Jacob Leinenkugels Brewery. They offer tours and have a beautiful lodge to enjoy some of their samples.
There is also a Distillery/Brewery in town. Head toward the river to the “Chippewa River Distillery” They have an upper outside deck that has a beautiful view of the Chippewa River.
This is a beautiful area for a quiet get away any time of year.

We do monthly rentals on our off season from October through May for $2700 per month which includes heat , electricity , cable tv and internet .
This Beautiful, delightful north-woods cottage retreat sits with-in 30 level feet of the shoreline of the beautiful Flambeau River.
You can fish, kayak, canoe, tube, rowboat, wade swim right from the door step .
The cottage is 1650 square feet of beautiful woodwork and décor . It is fully equipped with all the modern amenities : full size refrigerator/freezer , stove/oven, washer, dryer, dishwasher, Central air . forced air heating ETC....... Kitchen has everything you need for cooking ,
We also supply all the beautiful north-woods bedding , bath and kitchen towels , toilet paper , paper towels , napkins , and cleaning supplies .
The open kitchen , dinning and living room area is ideal for gatherings of family and friends.
Two cable TVs, one is a smart TV (so you can program your own Netflix etc.....)
There is a beautiful new 1/2 bath and 3 full size bedrooms upstairs, two have queen size beds and one has two twin log beds , and one Bedroom on the first floor with a TV and 2 full size futons.
We have 2 canoes 4 kayaks and innertubes for our renters to use .
Outdoor picnic tables and extra chairs for sitting around the campfire.
The Flambeau River is on average 2 to 5 feet deep (depending on amounts of rain amounts) .
The Flambeau River connects to the Chippewa River one-mile down river, then the Chippewa River connects to Lake Holcombe which is a 4000-acre lake.
It is not recommended to use a motorboats in the area of the cottage because of the river depth fluctuations due to rain amounts and hidden rocks just under the water. that could damage your motor. But there are several boat landings in the area to land your motorboat on the Chippewa River , Lake Holcombe or any of the other many many lakes in the area .
This scenic (Lazy) River and surrounding areas offer something for everyone .
ATV , UTV , Snowmobiling, 25 minutes' drive to the famous downhill skiing (Christie Mountain) , Ice age hiking trails, guided fishing trips, Ice fishing and lots of beaches in the area .
There are 250 lakes and flowages and several Rivers in Rusk and Chippewa Counties .
Thousands of acres of public hunting land, miles and miles of ATV and UTV trails and most county roads in the area allow you to drive them .
There are several Bar / grill restaurants and resorts with entertainment in the area.
The internet service is state of the art and cell phone and wfi works wonderfully. We also have satellite Tv .
We have been renting out this beautiful piece of paradise for the last 17 years and we take great pride in keeping it extremely clean and updated .
We are always willing to negotiate rates as we like to keep fully booked . Rates are seasonal and off-season rates are always less. Always feel free to contact us .

We do long term rentals from October through the end of May for $2400 per month. This rate includes, Heat , Electricity , Excellent WFI , cable TV and garbage service . (We have hosted Traveling Doctors, Nurses and temp workers in the area for years in the off-season months.)

Kayak season is here! Very Clean and Unique place to take the family on vacation or a group of friends (large group rates and accomodations available) We are located in Cornell, Wisconsin. Visit Brunet State Park for some paddling around the islands, less than a mile from cabin. Or kayak the Chippewa River....portage across the road. We have some of the best waters around. Old Abe biking trail runs from Cornell to Lake Hallie (about 40 miles of paved trail) is less than 1/4 mile from cabin for enthusiast bikers and for the hikers, the Ice Age Trail passes in front of the cabin on CC road. We are across the blue bridge on outskirt of town which has plenty of places to eat, within 1 mile radius. And if you love history, stop in to the visitor center located across the blue bridge, in Mill Yard Park. Great place to unplug and enjoy the outdoors again. The area offers seasonal outdoor recreation......fishing, hiking, biking, kayaking, snow shoeing, snowmobiling and cross country skiing.
We have added a gas grill and also have a wood fire pit and propane fire pit on the covered deck.

OUTDOORS: Spend summers right here with a huge private yard, low bank and wide boat dock that's all yours! Lots to do including kayaks, water-mat, water noodles, tire swing, hammock, firepit (wood/kindling provided), cornhole and ladder golf. Don't forget your fishing pole as many guests cast right off our dock! Swimming is superb just dive off the end of our dock or take a few stairs off our dock to knee deep water and float. Enjoy Fall colors by UTV and access the trails right from our property. Winter guests love to access snowmobile lake trails to visit local establishments or hit our great trail system.

DINING: Fully equipped kitchen with ice machine, slow cooker, toaster, towels, dishsoap, coffee bar & snacks, spices and condiments. Seating indoors for 10 at our large dining table/penisula. Outdoor seating for 10 plus at wicker dining set with umbrella, picnic table or adirack chairs. Cook outside with our gas grill or tripod over the firepit including cooking utensils for smores or burgers.

INDOOR LIVING: Sleeps 10, Bedroom 1: Queen Bed, Bedroom 2: Queen Bed, Twin low profile bunk beds (perfect for toddlers) and pack-n-play, Living Room: Two large Futons with gas fireplace. Smart Roku streaming TV's in each room, DVD player with movies, board games, puzzles, kids toys, cards, dice, dominoes. Black out curtains to ensure comfort and privacy.

PARKING: Large concrete driveway with room for 2 full size trucks and trailers plus street parking.

PET FRIENDLY: All pets must be approved prior to booking by providing breed and agreeing in writing to abide by "Pet Friendly" terms written here. Certain breeds due to insurance are not allowed. There is a charge per pet per stay and a maximum of 2. All pets need to be less than 50 lbs, up to date on vaccinations, supervised and leashed when outside. Pets are not allowed to be left unattended at property without permission. We have a large property but do live in a residential area and want to be respectful of our neighbors and abide by town ordinances.

- "The listing is 100% accurate and everything was exactly as expected. Clean, comfortable, relaxing and having the kayaks was a great perk! The ONLY thing (if I had to find something) that wasn’t perfect was the TV in the bedroom wouldn’t work, but with sunshine & so much else to do it didn’t really matter. They even had ice and 4 frosty mugs in the freezer!! I never had a need to reach out to the property manager. I look forward to coming again in the future."
