It rained so we grilled, cooked, watched a few movies, took a nap.. it was perfect! Because of the rain we didn’t get to enjoy the bonfire pit, but there was plenty to do in the cottage to entertain ourselves." - "Booked this place for me and my girlfriend to get away, relax, and recharge after the holidays. This Cozy Cottage was just the thing. We had a fantastic time and everything was as advertised. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to visit the Ladysmith, WI area."

- "Great cabin, great location." - "Great property. Six miles South of our property on the Thornapple River. Everything went smoothly and was as nice as it looked online. The s’mores bundle was a great catch with our Adult children and their girlfriends. I would recommend this place , but I don’t want ir to become unavailable for my family for the next time." - "We loved the warmth and serenity of this beautiful cabin. There was a lot of time spent in the screened in gazebo, playing board games and enjoying meals under soft ambient lights and a fan for the hot days. The Thornapple River, a gentle giant, has become an old friend. Not sure we heard another human voice the entire stay, but we saw deer, ducks, and eagles. Safe to say we loved every second! We'd be grateful to visit again!"

The big table in the enormous kitchen space was perfect for playing group games and allowing for us to eat together family style. Other favorites were the massage chair and the screen porch. It was so pleasant to listen to the birds, feel the breeze and watch deer grazing in the distance from the porch. Great place!" - "The game room in the basement was the highlight of the stay for everyone! We had pool tournaments, played foosball, chess, darts and other games! There’s even a huge tv. The kitchen is huge and well stocked. The upstairs bedrooms were comfortable with plenty of room for everyone. - "Thanks so much for having my small group for our grouse camp 2.0. I missed the group hunt early in the year because my wife had surgery and this makeup trip was just what we all needed. Tom and Macey was such great hosts. They provided everything we needed!" - "This is an owner-occupied property. It is beautiful and the owner is very generous, allowing guests to roam and enjoy his beautiful 27 acre property. Great location near town, parks and other things to do. The bunkhouse is an amazing display of the owner's talent and ability to repurpose old items for a new space. I traveled for business but would highly recommend this property for business or leisure travel. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there."

This beautiful, newly renovated home was the home my husband grew up in. We put a lot of work into fixing it up so we could share it with others. It is out in the country down a dead end road, but still only a few miles from the town of Ladysmith. The inside of the home is clean and almost all brand new. It is about a mile from a little county park on the Dairyland Reservoir, only a few miles from the local golf course, and just down the road from hopping on the snowmobile trail in the winter. There is a boat landing at the park for summer and access to ice fishing in the winter. This home does now share a driveway with another property. We look forward to hosting you!

It is a cute little house with three bedrooms and one bathroom. The main bedroom and bathroom are both on the lower level with two more bedrooms upstairs. There is a basement, but it is unfinished, so we would prefer guests spend their time on the main two levels. There is a fire pit out back that you are welcome to use. We work hard to keep the property clean for you.
*NEW* There is now a Ring doorbell camera at the front door, facing the driveway, for your safety and ours.

- "Beautiful home close enough to visit family. Comfortable beds and accessories for cooking was well stocked. We will check here prior to booking any hotels. Private and felt very secure. Thank you for opening the home to us." - "This was our second visit to this property and we enjoyed both stays. We used it for a family weekend and spent time flying kites, walking the fields and on a nearby road, and playing board games inside. It's a real bonus to be able to bring our family's dog so the grandkids can play with her. It has everything you need and is quite comfy!"

Relax listening to the sound of flowing water while you grill on the spacious deck overlooking the river, or by a campfire right next to the water. Wade in to fish, catch crayfish, or simply to let the water flow around you.
Our very clean 3 bedroom, 2 bath home is on the Flambeau river, with plenty of parking for boats, UTV's, etc. Besides enjoying the beautiful river way, we are located near many lakes and trails. Our spacious ranch home is in a peaceful setting remote from neighbors, yet not far from Lake Holcombe, Brunet State Park, the Blue Hills of WI, and Hayward... you will not be disappointed with all the things to explore. We love to put our kayaks in at the Thornapple Dam, and float/fish right to our back yard! We are also fans of fishing on nearby lakes, biking the paved Old Abe State trail, and the skiing/snowmobiling opportunities in the winter. If you prefer a quiet stay inside, the WiFi is strong enough for both work and recreational needs. A short drive takes you into Ladysmith for amenities, area pubs and supper clubs, or a little further drive takes you to Hayward for some quaint shopping.
- "This was a prefect place for me and my siblings to commune and have a reflective time as well as a good time. With the river right there and nature all around us saw so many deer hard to keep count. I would highly reccomend a lamp in every bedroom and more places to have your guests put their belongings in the bedrooms. Thank you for offering up such a wonderful place!" - "Very nice / relaxing" - "Clean, modern, lovely home! Right on the flowage. Plenty of nature exploring- eagles, herons, crayfish baby sturgeon. We put in kayaks 3 mi up at thornapple dam and floated home. Grilled outside on the deck. Brought utv's and explored the area. Very few neighbors, and super quiet on weekdays. Great family fun!!"

The Whitetail Cabin is a secluded, yet easily accessible property that is spacious both inside and out. Inside, Aspen beams and decor provide a true Northwoods appeal with comfort and style, while outside is a peaceful and relaxing country view. Just 3 miles North there are thousands of acres of public land open to hunters and hikers. 20 minutes west are the Blue Hills and Christy Mountain ski resort with both downhill and cross-country skiing. There are excellent trout streams here as well. The Thornapple River is almost a stones throw away from the cabin and is excellent for a kayak or canoe float with great bass and musky fishing. The big rivers, the Flambeau and Chippewa, are just 5 and 15 minutes drive. They both are world class rivers for musky, bass, pike and walleye fishing as well as tubing which is very popular here. Lakes are too numerous and varied for description but offer excellent fishing, swimming and watersports.
Fall brings deer, bear, duck and grouse seasons as well as spectacular fall colors. It is possibly the finest season to visit northern Wisconsin.
In winter, Rusk County offers many miles of well groomed snowmobile trails with the trail passing right by the cabin. You can step right out of the cabin and on to your sled! There is room for parking several trucks and trailers so large groups are welcome.
In addition to the multitude of woods and water sports, all summer long there are county fairs, festivals, rodeos, logging competition, dirt track racing, casinos and so much more all in easy driving distance.
If simple peace, quiet and comfort is all you're looking for, come join us and enjoy the Northwoods!

Highly recommended for a great getaway or if you need a place to stay in the Ladysmith area." - "We loved the layout of this cabin. The center is a hub for everyone to be together. We also liked having Dana and Nikki close for anything we needed. Our dog Leo loved running outside and exploring too. The cabin has everything you need. Great amenities! We can't wait to return."

This cozy one-bedroom home in Northwestern Wisconsin is the perfect place from which to launch your adventures. It is located very close to several lakes and rivers which are great for boating, kayaking, and fishing. The home is within a few miles from several highways that lead to all the adventures that northwestern Wisconsin has to offer.
The space
The home has been recently remodeled with modern decor. It is the perfect place to stay if roughing it isn't your thing and is much more comfortable than any hotel in the area. You can expect a quiet stay as the neighborhood consists mostly of summer homes. The queen size bed in the bedroom can comfortably sleep two adults, and the sofa in the living room folds down into another full size bed. In the winter, two electric fireplaces add ambiance for those chilly night stay-ins. In the summer, the fresh breeze makes for a cool day inside or out.
Guest access
A full size kitchen with a full size refrigerator, stove, and plenty of counter space is available for guests. The kitchen is equipped with a few pots and pans, plates, bowls, glasses and mugs, knives, towels, and washcloths as well as all the standard equipment. A microwave and toaster oven make meal preparation a breeze. There is a Keurig machine, and a couple k-cups will be provided for each day of your stay. Standard bath towels will also be provided.
- "My husband and I enjoyed the north woods of Wisconsin and spent a week in this adorable house. Affordable, well thought out, comfortable, and quiet. We didn’t spend much time there, Coffee in the morning, a comfy bed at night. Our pup loved the living room rug. A squirrel took out a transformer and we were without power our last morning but that was our only hiccup! Neighbors are friendly too! We did not utilize the smart home features, but it’s loaded! Would definitely stay again."

Our cabin is the perfect stay for couples, families and friends groups of up to eight. Zero entry front door and main level living make the cabin more accessible for guests with limited mobility. Our cabin is right on the Chippewa River, so while we welcome younger visitors, you’ll need to keep a close eye on very young children. The cabin can also be a great place to get some work done, with fast, reliable fiber optic internet.
Each of the two bedrooms downstairs feature a queen size bed. Both rooms over plenty of space/closet space to store bags, or hang clothes. The spacious upstairs bunk room has two queen beds, perfect for children or friends!
The cabin has a spacious great room, with plenty of space for you to spread out. The fully stocked kitchen is a cook’s dream, with a gas stove and massive island with seating for eight. The dining room offers a large table with an additional eight seats, perfect for big family dinners. The cozy living room has an electric fireplace and 65 inch smart TV.
The large, private yard is perfect for yard games or relaxing in the hammocks or lounge chairs. Gather around the fire pit for cozy evenings under the stars.
During the summer months, enjoy access to the hiking and walking trails on the property and adjacent county park. The river is just steps away and perfect for kayaking, canoeing, swimming and tubing! Please note that this section of the river is fairly shallow and not navigable by a motor boat. We also recommend water shoes/sandals if you plan to swim as the river is pretty rocky. The county park is just steps from the front door and features plenty of walking trails and a 9 hole disc golf course.
During the winter, utilize the trails for snowshoeing or cross country skiing. Christie Mountain is just a short drive away if downhill skiing is more your speed. The cabin is surrounded by snowmobile and ATV trails for year-round adventure!
