- "This place was marvelous. We stayed in the Miners Castle Suite and it was perfect for what we wanted. We love the two separate living room areas with the outdoor patio. A home away from home feel. It was very comfortable with a large bathroom and great view of the lake from the bed. This bedroom and the Grand Portal bedroom share the kitchen, dining room and living room so if you feel uncomfortable staying in a house with people you don't know, make sure you book both rooms. We were lucky that no one else booked the other room so we had all the space all to ourselves. Our favorite part was sitting in front of the window in the living room just watching the sunset. The whole place was clean and very cozy. Joanne, whom lives on the property, was such a joy to talk to. She was very informative about the area with lots of suggestions of restaurants and places to visit. She made us feel at home. It is just a short drive to downtown Munising and the Pictured Rocks. We will definitely stay here again when we visit the area. "

Clean, new, and close to everything we wanted to do: hike, visit waterfalls and Lake Superior, go to the Ice Festival, and Eben Ice Caves. These being seperate units, they were super quiet. We didn't hear our neighbors at all. The windows let in the natural beauty right outside the door, and has ample windows for natural light. I read someone comment they thought the mattress was thin, i didn't find that to be true. They may have updated them, but the master bed had a thick memory foam mattress. Had a great time, and definitely will stay again. "

- "This was an excellent location but they are upgrading. The drain in the shower was clogged with hair the faucet was loose so we had to hold it up so we could get the shower on.
