We will definitely be booking a summer trip back to the Birch Lodge. "

If you have nostalgia for rustic living in the woods and the smell of a wood stove, this cabin is an absolute nostalgia-filled joy to stay in. Beautiful 2-bedroom cabin. With an excellent location. Great for snowmobilers and SXS's. Close to Whitefish Bay and Tahquamenon Falls. There are numerous local attractions. Cabin is fully equipped. This is not your ordinary vacation rental. If you need to be on the phone or the computer, this is not the place for you. We do provide a TV for watching movies. Twenty miles north of the Mackinaw Bridge, we are in the middle of the Hiawatha National Forest on a small inland lake. Yet we are close enough to freeway and local attractions, to return to civilization whenever the mood strikes.

The lake is a shallow lake good for kayaking,(3 kayaks are included as is a rowboat), canoeing, and fishing. We are surrounded by forest and wildlife. It is not uncommon to see wolves, bears, and on a rare occasion moose.
The lake has 3 pair of nesting loons, that fill the air with the pristine sound of nature. Great spot for birding. If you love birds you will be in paradise. Eagles, hummingbirds, pileated woodpeckers, kingfishers, warblers, more types of water fowl than I can list here.

North Country Trail traverses the area and is excellent for hiking. ATV trails are also near by. If you enjoy biking cross country, you will love it here.

Lake Michigan Beach off US-2 is about 20 minutes away, if you want to enjoy swimming on a beautiful sandy shoreline. Tacquamenon Falls are about a hour north, as is Whitefish Point. The ferry to Mackinaw Island is a half an hour south. Sault Ste. Marie and the Soo Locks, are 45 min. northeast.

This is the place to really escape. Easy access on good roads. Very few houses on this thousand acre lake, as 75% of the shoreline is owned by the national forest.

Our house is a two bedroom home that sleeps six inside the house along with two full bathrooms. Along with a rustic bunkhouse that will sleep an addition four people (electric only).

ORV/Snowmobile trail is located at the end of the driveway so head on out to the north to Paradise and Tahquamenon Falls, east to Strongs, Brimley, Sault St. Marie, South to Trout Lake, Brevort, Rexton and West to Newberry, Seney.

We have wild life that love to come and walk right up to to our back deck and front porch and just check things out.

- "This place was the perfect little spot for a family weekend getaway. We actually loved that the water was shallow, as it was fun for the kids. The view is gorgeous! The cottage had everything we needed to cook meals, have a small bonfire, etc. the owner was also very responsive to our questions and concerns. The two air conditioners provided were enough to keep the place cool. Kitchen was nicely stocked, we cooked most of our meals. The coffee pot is a mini, but there is a keurig type machine as well. Appreciated the clean fridge (not full of other renters leftovers or a dozen half empty condiment bottles.) Mosquitoes were heavy during our stay, make sure to bring bug spray! We had one small hiccup during our stay (bathtub was missed during cleaning prior to our arrival,) i reached out to the owner about it and received a quick response and the issue was resolved asap. My only recommendation would be to add some room darkening curtains, at least in the bedrooms. Nice cottage and plenty of room to spread out and relax with the fam."

Smoking is allowed in the barn (ozone generator used to eliminate odor).

- "Clean place" - "Had to stay in the area for work" - "This was a quaint, lovely place to stay. 2 BR and 2 Baths. Loved that the woods was behind it and view thru window was peaceful. Stayed on a Friday and Saturday so was able to walk across street to the Tahquamenon Lodge and buy a yummy breakfast at very good price. They serve Sat and Sunday mornings. There is also a bar across street that serves burgers, etc. So very convenient. Had a problem with bathroom light but called and got a call back quickly. It was fixed immediately. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay again here in a heart beat. BR and rooms are very clean just lots of dead flies- which is seasonal so there is nothing they could do about it :) Thanks for a great stay!"

- "First impression was just how clean this was. I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw that this was a 350 sq ft. cabin. I didn't realize it was an actual campground. The cabin has a bathroom, but it also has a very nice bath house as well for those with tents or who just "both need to use it at the same time". We did take our two small dogs with us. We used one bedroom for our luggage and such and we used the other. It is equipped with just about everything you would need. We were concerned it might be too hot for our French Bulldogs, but there is an A/C unit in the kitchen (we were in cabin 2) and a fan in each bedroom. We were more than comfortable. We went to Mackinac Island one day and hit the beach another day. If you love smoked salmon, don't forget to hit up Guftason's, not far from the campsite."

The yard is perfect for relaxing and making memories with your loved ones! Comes complete with a propane grill, cozy firepit area that overlooks the backyard/lake and a BBQ grill. Enjoy some fishing off the dock as well as sand toys for the younger ones. Also included is 2 kayaks and lifejackets to use during your stay.

At this moment the cabin does not have WIFI, it does have a smart TV where you can hook up a personal hotspot. There is a VHS/DVD player a long with a VHS collection to choose from.

The kitchen if fully equipment with all your cooking needs. You will find a Keurig coffee maker along with K-cups for your stay, crockpot, air fryer, toaster oven, electric skillet, blender and so much more.

Brand new custom home that will be finished in January of 2024 - relax on the deck listening to the waves lap in from Lake Michigan while looking at the private sandy beach 65 steps below. Walk for miles on the beach and rarely others. In 20 minutes or less visit St. Ignace, Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, Lake Brevoort, Cut River Bridge, eat pasties, smoked fish and fudge while enjoying our special place. ATV, UTV, snowmobile or hike right from our driveway which is located on a quiet secluded road with State of Michigan land across the road from our house.

Hundreds of acres of bliss! Straight shot to Dorgan's Crossing for the snowmobilers and ATV. The West Branch of the Waiska (Whiskey) River runs through the property which you can hike. The camp is at the end of the road, very private backing up to the Delirium Wilderness right outside of Brimley, MI. Fantastic home base location for any day trips by car/sled/ATV anywhere mid to east of the UP. Ample parking for multiple trailers. The house is plumbed with a one 3/4 bathroom but there is a double seater outhouse, a once in a lifetime opportunity!

House amenities include large TV, leather sofa and 4 large leather recliners, and a wood stove which keeps the place toasty. Starlink provides lightning-fast Wi-Fi. Each of the 2 bedrooms has a queen size bed (pictures will be updated soon we had to change them out). There is also a cot bunk bed in the living room.
