Our Cottage is directly across from the state park in Grand Haven. 5 bedroom, 2 bath home directly across the street from the state park, and completely renovated makes this cottage the perfect location with all the modern conveniences. The upper-level renovation was just completed in March of 2022 with updated decor, bedding, and new carpet.

We book from Saturday to Saturday all summer. We also book long weekends or a minimum of 2 days for the rest of the year. It is the perfect getaway year-round. In the summer you are steps away from the beach and in the fall and winter watch waves crash into the pier and lighthouse from the front four season room. The main floor has newer appliances including a washer and dryer. Marble counters with snack bar, wood plank flooring, and shiplap walls.

Your cottage is a three-minute drive to downtown Grand Haven. Or better yet, it is a relaxing 15-minute walk along a safe boardwalk to the Grand Haven waterfront. During your walk, you will experience the beautiful vistas of Lake Michigan and the Grand River along your way.

Built in 1906, the cottage is a historic landmark in Highland Park. Pair-A-Dice retains much of its original charm as many items in the cottage are original. More than 100 cottages are tucked in the sand dunes of this area with a system of boardwalks and walkways built throughout the natural preserve. Pair-A-Dice, one of the few cottages overlooking Lake Michigan and her beach, offers its guests the beautiful sunsets on your large private deck while you drink, dine and scream for ice cream. For quick, safe, and easy access, just step on down the Highland Park Boardwalk to arrive at your beach.

Enjoy watching the Grand Haven Pier’s catwalk lite up at night looking like a string of pearls. Take a midnight stroll through Highland Park or dip in the lake below. Also, this addition added a bedroom off the bathroom hallway. Three bedrooms have full beds, one bedroom has a set of twin beds and a fifth bedroom has sailor boys and girls bunk beds. The cottage sleeps eight adults and two children comfortably. Two bedrooms have lake views while you are resting in bed. The new addition bedroom overlooks the protected wooded sand dune nature preserve

September is the locals’ time to be swimming and fishing for Salmon in the Lake. Often the water is warmer than the air and the waves are perfect for body surfing, or watching the surfers. The beach crowds are gone however the city is still open with mostly local characters. The renowned lake getaway of Grand Haven is another must-see spot along Michigan’s Lower Peninsula on the West Coast. Visitors can choose from Grand Haven City Beach, Grand Haven State Park, or North Beach Park, which is just north of Grand Haven in Ferrysburg. For some hidden gems during peak season, you can also head to Olive Shores Park, Buchanan Beach, Rosy Mound Natural Area, or Windsnest Park. The house is located on the bluff directly above the beach with incredible views. It is also a quick drive to downtown Grand Haven. A few things to consider: * Four bedrooms have partial height walls, sharing a common ceiling and common overhead light - bring sound machines to help with the noise transfer between rooms! * While the listing accommodates a fair number of people, each room is very tiny. Dining table and living room each accommodate only 6 at a time. Deck is slightly larger but still a bit tight. * Kitchen is very small with limited counter space. Oven temp was inconsistent which made cooking a bit challenging. * The grill on the deck was not working. Jay made an attempt to fix it during our stay but unfortunately it still didn’t work. Overall, Jay was a very attentive host and we loved our stay!"

THE LOCATION:
While we are right near the beach, you can still walk everywhere in town within 20 minutes! Park your car and forget about it. The Cottage sits on the bluff just above the City of Grand Haven Beach and the Grand Haven State Park! Peterson Ridge is a sidewalk on the bluff of the first dune between Edward Ave and the beach. There are NO cars on Peterson Ridge, so it is very private and kid-friendly. Our cottage backs to the Woods of Mulligan's Hollow with miles of trails separating the beachfront cottages from downtown Grand Haven! The woods keep the cottage cool on even the warmest days!

OUTSIDE THE HOME:
Rinse off with a hose on the front steps and de-beach on the front porch with many hooks for toys, suits, towels and flip-flops. The 2nd floor deck has great sun from mid-morning-mid afternoon plus a small view of Lake Michigan! There is a very, nice gas grill outside off the kitchen. There is a fantastic nap hammock on the 2nd floor deck. The outdoor fireplace is perfect for s'mores and Michigan wine.

INSIDE THE COTTAGE:
The first floor has a large porch, living room, fireplace, dining room and adorable kitchen with nice, clean appliances. There are 2 huge sectionals in the living room around the fireplace and tv. The dining table is set for 6, but can accommodate 10 with spare chairs. There are dozens of board games, puzzles, books, toys, beach towels, beach toys, beach chairs, to enjoy. Each bedroom has windows on 2 walls for great evening cross-breezes and the sound of waves!

Bedroom #1 on the 1st floor has a queen bed, closet, dresser and door directly into the 1st Floor Bathroom and an amazing view of Mulligan's Hollow.

A 10 minute walk takes you to the local YMCA and the area's Imagination Station, tennis & pickleball courts and skate park.There are nine restaurants, two coffee shops and a bakery within 10 blocks featuring everything from pizza to sushi to seafood to Italian to steaks. PARKING RULES: There is a maximum of 2 cars per cottage. We strictly enforce these rules.

DURING SPRING and FALL: We are more flexible with the nights rented and can allow for rentals less than 7 nights. If interest please do not hesitate to inquire.

We are located 3 blocks from the heart of downtown Grand Haven, 3 blocks from the Grand Haven Boardwalk and Chinook Pier, 3 blocks to the Musical fountain and less than a mile from the Beach and State Park.

This place has one queen bedroom plus a pull out queen bed in the large living room. We also have a desk work station, good wifi and 55" smart TV. We also have high end new appliances, rain head shower, walk in closet and washer/dryer.

I love the comforts of home while I am travelling and I strive to provide a great experience for my guests with a clean, spacious place, a comfortable bed with 5 star hotel quality linens, Frette towels, black out blinds in the bedroom and good coffee.

This is the main level unit of a two story duplex and offers a deck with a table and chairs off of the entrance.

As you pull up you will immediately notice that Point Comfort has a large deck that provides great entertainment space and a peaceful place to watch the sunset. As you enter the cottage into an enclosed porch area, you will find comfortable seating for everyone and an area that is perfect for reading, card games, and entertaining.

Around the corner in the kitchen, you can find all the major appliances, utensils, and pots and pans for cooking homemade meals. For larger groups, the cottage comes with two dining room tables available just outside the kitchen and inside the enclosed porch.

As you move upstairs, you will find 4 bedrooms, each with new queen mattresses so that you can have that restful sleep you’re looking for on your vacation. The main bathroom is upstairs and has a classic cottage feel with a vintage claw tub.

Downstairs in the basement, you will find a clothes washer and dryer (in case you need to do a quick load of laundry), an additional toilet room and a newly-installed cedar enclosed shower.

Point Comfort has a covered parking garage with space for 2 vehicles and is located next to the cottage for your convenience. Additional parking spots are also available upon request in nearby lots.

The cottage does come with a television and internet for your convenience.

Point Comfort is a staple cottage in the Highland Park community. It has been family-owned for over 50 years and has been a place that generations of children and grand-children have grown up visiting every summer. It is a treasure to the family, but we recognize it is not the perfect spot for everyone. The cottage is a cottage that has been well-maintained and updated, with ceiling and window fans and lake breezes, but no air-conditioning. For guests with mobility concerns, there is a flight of stairs to access all bedrooms and both bathrooms. Lastly, Highland Park is a family community with strict noise standards at night. As a result, we have a strict “no parties” house rule.

Stairway to Haven is located in Highland Park, a historic and iconic cottage community just up the hill from Grand Haven State Park. With cottages dating back to the early 1900's, Highland Park has been a popular vacation destination for over a century.

Stairway to Haven is situated on a wooded dune and just a short walk from beach access. The cottage is close to everything Grand Haven has to offer while still offering peace, quiet, and serenity to its guests. It is not unusual to see deer and other wildlife meandering around just behind the property.

Take a short stroll to the beautiful sandy beaches just down the hill, or make the quick trip into Downtown Grand Haven to have dinner, do some shopping, or take in the famous Musical Fountain.

INSIDE THE HOUSE
This air-conditioned home has four bedrooms and one bathroom and half bath in the laundry area (basement), a fully stocked kitchen, spacious living room, and porch areas as well as outdoor sitting areas behind the property and on the side of the house. Two parking spaces are provided.

The cottage sleeps 6 people total which is the maximum occupancy allowed by the city.

There is a small dining room table in the kitchen that seats 4, and a larger one in the dining room area off the living room that seats 6 people.

There are two angled marked parking spots.

THE LOCATION
Highland Park sits across the street and up the hill from Grand Haven State Park. The house is located in the back of the community. Note the property is only accessible by steps up from the parking area.

Up-A-Wae cottage is located on the famous 5-mile-hill in Grand Haven, MI across the street from the State Park and a 15-minute walk to downtown stores and restaurants! Enjoy the huge deck overlooking Lake Michigan or take a walk on the pier while you watch the breathtaking sunsets. The perfect vacation awaits you - great for families, couples or friends!

Smart TVs throughout the house allow you to log in to your favorite streaming services. A washer and dryer are located on the main floor of the house, as well as a master bedroom that overlooks lake Michigan. The master bedroom also has an attached bathroom and closets lining both sides of the room! Upstairs, 2 bedrooms - 1 with a queen bed, the other with a twin daybed and twin trundle - and a loft area with a TV. There's also a balcony off of the upstairs bedrooms with a 2-chair patio set. The spacious kitchen includes all you need to cook a meal, and seating for 3 at the bar-top table - there's also a dining table that seats 4 next to the kitchen.

- "Wonderful. " - "This was, simply put, one of the most impressive and memorable places we’ve stayed on vacation. My 8-year-old son, my wife and my mom were all blown away by it — starting with the views. From the back patio, the living room, even the bedrooms, we had a nearly panoramic view of Lake Michigan. We spent hours sitting outside watching the boats pass by, revelers on the beach and the famed Grand Haven sunsets without needing to leave. We could walk across the street to the beach, bypassing parking fees and waits in line when things got crowded. Downtown shops and restaurants were minutes away by car, or could be reached with a short walk. The location could not be beat, though the amenities and cozy touches inside the home were close. Multiple smart TVs, plus an epic record and CD collection, kept us all entertained on the one rainy night we had. Abbi was an incredible host, having everything impeccably clean for our arrival. She even had frozen pizzas stocked in case we were too tired to cook or go out to eat. We left all agreeing that it was a magical trip. Our only hope is to make it back to Up-A-Wae soon."

Entry is located at the top of a brief flight of stairs. The main floor is equipped with a galley kitchen, dining nook, den with TV, and living room with a mid-century modern flair and room for everyone to gather together.

On the upper level, you will find a primary bedroom with a queen bed and a bunk room with a twin daybed, twin over full bunk. These rooms share a full bath.

OUTSIDE
Step outside the front door to a spacious deck overlooking the shoreline of Lake Michigan and simply relax and enjoy the view. A gas grill and an outside dining table create the ideal backdrop for memorable meals.

There is one parking spot available in the driveway. Please stay inside the white line or it will be towed.

The property had everything we needed, could use some upgrades to the patio furniture ..of the two chairs provided, when we moved the back cushion of one we noticed the entire backing was blown out, and the second one began to crack during our stay, so we had to get creative with borrowing chairs from my brother who fortunately lives in town. No real complaints though! Neighbors were a little rude when we arrived, but they thought we were taking their parking space which we weren’t. Would stay here again! It was cozy, yes, but plenty enough space for our young kids and could have even slept another 1, or 2:)"

This is a traditional cottage built in the 1950's and updated in the 1980's. It sits on a sand dune with a spectacular view of the Lake. Four bedrooms and two full baths. Could sleep eight. Cable/internet. No AC. Space heater in the living room. No WD. Yes Dishwasher. Microwave. Fully furnished kitchen. Bedding and towels provided. The cottage is in a small community of cottages and year-around houses with a private driveway and 20 acre wood. There is ample parking and privacy. Access to the beach is from shared steps a hundred yards away. Located 5 miles south of Grand Haven, Michigan, a charming town with a full set of services. The cottage has an open plan kitchen and living room. They share an island for breakfast and lunch. The living room has a picture window facing due west. In addition, there is a very large screened porch for dining and entertaining and a deck facing the Lake. The cottage experience is open to nature rather than bunkering indoors.

- "We've stayed at many cottages on Lake Michigan over the last 20+ years. Have never seen a better view of the lake. Vintage cottage, well maintained, hope to return next year." - "You can't beat the view of the lake from the cottage! We saw a gorgeous sunset over Lake Michigan almost every evening. There are large living areas including the open living room/kitchen area with snack bar seating, and a large sunroom with lots of seating and tables for game playing. The bedrooms all have closets and storage. Two full baths is a plus. Spacious deck with lots of chairs. Don't bother bringing extras - the house is stocked with sand chairs, toys, everything you need. It's a short walk to the beach, 2 lots down and a flight of stairs - and unlike some areas that have eroded this one does have a nice beach to sit on! The only negative is that like most cottages there's no AC so the place can be toasty despite fans - we were there during mid-80's temps. And be aware that there are dog ticks around the house and property."

The main floor features a spacious living and dining area with plenty of options to gather together or break away for quiet conversation. Step out to the roomy, attached lake facing screened porch for your morning coffee or cozy up in the evening to watch the famous Lake Michigan sunsets. Plan your daily meals in the roomy kitchen and step out to the second attached screened porch where you will find plenty of room to serve everyone at the spacious farmhouse dining table. A convenient main floor bedroom with a full bed and separate full bath complete this floor.

Wander upstairs where you will find a lake-facing bedroom with two twins, a bunk room with one set of twin bunks and an additional twin bed, and a fabulous master bedroom with a king bed, twin daybed, half bath, and amazing private sundeck overlooking the shoreline. An additional full bath completes this floor.

THE LOCATION
Step outside to enjoy the day lounging in the sunshine on your remote stretch of sandy beach. Rent kayaks or paddleboards locally and explore the shoreline at your own pace. Keep an eye out for local deer who occasionally wander from the wooded dune to the lake for a refreshing drink of water.

Retreat to the cottage after a day in the sun and plan a barbecue on the side deck or take a short drive to nearby Grand Haven/Spring Lake and enjoy local pubs or fine dining. Treat everyone to ice cream, walk along the channel and watch the boats travel by. Plenty of retail therapy options can be found as well in this bustling resort town.

PARKING RULES: There is a maximum of 2 cars per cottage. We strictly enforce these rules.

DURING SPRING and FALL: We are more flexible with the nights rented and can allow for rentals less than 7 nights. If interest please do not hesitate to inquire.

LOCATION: One half mile south of the Grand Haven State Park, overlooking Lake Michigan.

INSIDE THE HOME
The main floor features a sunny, open living/dining room with plenty of space to spread out. The farmhouse table seats eight, and the roomy sectional provides ample seating for everyone to hang out and visit or enjoy the flat-screen TV. The galley kitchen is equipped with everything you need, including a Keurig coffee station. Additionally, the main floor includes a bedroom with a queen bed, a full bath with a tub/shower, and a laundry area.

The mid-level landing pass-through space has been designed to provide additional sleep options with a twin daybed and trundle as well as a dedicated desk space, perfect for catching up emails or remote work.

Step up to the top level (PLEASE NOTE LOW DOOR FRAME), and you'll find an additional pass-through space with a second twin daybed with a trundle and a TV area for gaming or catching up on your latest shows. An additional bedroom with a queen bed completes this floor.

Property is located 9 miles from Grand Haven/Lake Michigan, and 11 miles from Grand valley University on a quiet street. There are parks and trails close by for walking, cycling etc.. . The place is relaxing, private, and has amazing views of the sunrise and sunset on the Grand River and wildlife such Bald Eagles, Sandhill Cranes, swans and herons. You can enjoy nights under the star lit skies spotting satellites in front of the campfire. Ideal for couples and families.

The space
Our place is relaxing with great views of the river and sunset. In spring 2018 a new paved cycle path opens 1/3 of a mile from the house ( do not need to cross a main road). You can cycle 6 miles and vist Riverside Park, Bass Creek Recreational area and Connors Bayou park. (Please note house is not suited for wheelchairs, there is 2 steps to enter, narrow hallways, and narrow doorways.)

Also, to continue to keep cleaning costs down linens are provided for the beds, however, you will need to make the beds that you are going to use and then strip them prior to leaving. This also helps the cleaner identify which beds have been used.

The cottage neighbours a wooded lot which is private peaceful. In the front yard there is a natural stone patio with table and chairs perfect for morning coffee whilst looking at the bayou/lake. Out back is a patio with gas BBQ, patio furniture and small fire pit. Note living room has seating for 4, and second bedroom has a bunk with full size bed on bottom and twin on top. There are 2 additional cots located in the bedroom closet which can be used for additional guests. However, house is small and this setup is better suited for either 1 family with 2-3 children, or 2 sets of adult couples.

Other things to note
To keep cleaning costs down linens are provided. However, you will need to make the beds and strip them prior to leaving. This also helps you know linens are clean and the environment by having linens washed that have not been used.

Furnished vacation cottage rental in downtown Grand Haven. Park your car and walk to downtown, Chinook Pier, the Farmers Market, local restaurants, shops and live music. This 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom home was originally built in 1880. It retains a lot of it's old charm with a Clawfoot tub (with shower), pedestal bathroom sink, whitewashed wood ceiling and plaster walls. It has a full size washer/dryer, dishwasher, disposal, microwave, wifi.

The space
This is a great vacation spot in the heart of Grand Haven. I love great linens and quality bath products and I provide the best to my guests as well. The queen bed is memory foam and the pillows are comfortable so you will be too.
There are window air conditioning units in the bedroom and living room. There is a new comfy leather sectional and smart TV in the living room.

Other things to note
Please note: This unit is on the second floor of a duplex. Because the home was built in 1880, the stairs were built on a more steep incline than modern steps. It is not a good option for children or people with mobility issues. There will be guests in the unit below you so we do ask that guests in each unit be courteous of one another.

The space
PLEASE NOTE - like most homes in the downtown area of Grand Haven this house is over 100 years old, which means lots of character and a great location but also means things like steeper stairs, upstairs has a gabled roof, radiator heating which means window AC units not central air and while the kitchen is otherwise fully equipped there is no dishwasher. We hope to show as much about the house in the photos and descriptions as possible and please don't hesitate to ask more questions. Also as listed we do not have cable TV - but do have a new smart TV with Roku with a DVD player and do have Wifi. Our hope is that you will take advantage of time spent with others, enjoy our puzzles, games, books and creating memories together! We do offer longer stay off season rental often as well - please inquire.

Other things to note
Please note that while the kitchen has just about everything, it does not have a dishwasher - so dishes need to be washed by hand. Also note as seen in photos that the two upstairs rooms are separated by a curtain as it is not possible to have a door with the gabled roof. Any other questions?? Just ask!!

Our family has a long history with Grand Haven, the Vinks and other family immigrated to the area in the 1800's and have been in the area ever since. This house is named in honor of my beloved Grandma Ruth who passed away several years ago but is where my love of Grand Haven and hosting others came from. She grew up in Grand Haven - just a few blocks from here and my childhood summers were spent coming back with Grandma to see family and friends. Family and heritage was important to her and we have loved being able to honor her memory in many of the photos in the house. We hope you will enjoy a little of our family history as well!

This is the main level of a 2 unit duplex. The entrance is private and you have your own small deck off of the entrance with a table and 4 chairs to watch Grand Haven go by.

The air conditioning comes from a new high powered, remote control window unit that effectively cools the entire place. There may be guests in the upstairs apartment so there could be some noise from above, but our guests have always been respectful of one another.

Guest access
You will be able to access almost everything. The only living area that is shut off in the winter is the third floor. There is also a second floor balcony that is off limits as well. You may put things in the basement but the garage and driveway directly in front of the garage are reserved for the owners family. There are two possibly three spots on the Northeast side of the house that are available for you to park in.

Other things to note
In the snowy winter months we will have the parking area and stairs cleared for your arrival but for the duration of your stay you will be responsible to keep those areas cleared as much as you desire. We do have a snow shovel in the basement for your use.
If you are looking to rent for a long period of time there are local contractors who you can hire to plow. We would be happy to help you find one.
We have two designated spots and if you have smaller cars you can possibly fit three. Our spots are located on the NE side of the house just off the main stairs.

The Beach House sits upon a low bluff overlooking Grand Haven State Park and Lake Michigan with terraced patio perfect for views

Location, location, location. That cliche rings true with this private home which sits directly across the street from Grand Haven State Park. It is located upon a small hill giving incredible panoramic views of Lake Michigan, the park, the pier, lighthouse, channel, and more! Located just down the boardwalk from Downtown, it's also an easy walk into town to visit the many restaurants, shops, and attractions.

Relax on the deck or the private terraced patio, and enjoy the views, or relax in the home itself with those same views visible from the kitchen and the living room.

As you pull up you will immediately notice that Point Comfort has a large deck that provides great entertainment space and a peaceful place to watch the sunset. As you enter the cottage into an enclosed porch area, you will find comfortable seating for everyone and an area that is perfect for reading, card games, and entertaining.

Around the corner in the kitchen, you can find all the major appliances, utensils, and pots and pans for cooking homemade meals. For larger groups, the cottage comes with two dining room tables available just outside the kitchen and inside the enclosed porch.

As you move upstairs, you will find 4 bedrooms, each with new queen mattresses so that you can have that restful sleep you’re looking for on your vacation. The main bathroom is upstairs and has a classic cottage feel with a vintage claw tub.

Downstairs in the basement, you will find a clothes washer and dryer (in case you need to do a quick load of laundry), an additional toilet room and a newly-installed cedar enclosed shower.

Point Comfort has a covered parking garage with space for 2 vehicles and is located next to the cottage for your convenience. Additional parking spots are also available upon request in nearby lots.

The cottage does come with a television and internet for your convenience.

Point Comfort is a staple cottage in the Highland Park community. It has been family-owned for over 50 years and has been a place that generations of children and grand-children have grown up visiting every summer. It is a treasure to the family, but we recognize it is not the perfect spot for everyone. The cottage is a cottage that has been well-maintained and updated, with ceiling and window fans and lake breezes, but no air-conditioning. For guests with mobility concerns, there is a flight of stairs to access all bedrooms and both bathrooms. Lastly, Highland Park is a family community with strict noise standards at night. As a result, we have a strict “no parties” house rule.

The Anthony House "Upper Unit" in the Highland Park Neighborhood of Grand Haven, MI features 3, bedrooms, and sleeps a maximum of 8 people. The cottage sleeps 6 people total which is the maximum occupancy allowed by the city.

The whole house is for your use except the garage and driveway on the South side are reserved for the owners and their family. There are two (possibly three) parking spots available on the Northeast side for you to use.
