The private balcony overlooking the lake was a nice amenity as was the hot tub which was clean and well maintained. Easy walk to a nice hiking trail, shop for necessities and bar/restaurant. It is a SHARED house, split into 4. You very much notice the other people staying. We did have 2 big issues, that did get a tiny bit of attention but did not get resolved. Property management said they were sending someone out, not sure if that happened as we were gone for several hours in the morning. When we got back though, the heat was just not working at all. We never got it to turn back on the whole time. Luckily, there was a gas fireplace that we turned on that heated that area of the house. We had booked this place because my kids really wanted a hot tub. The hot tub is on the other side of the property and was shared - would have been nice to know that. We did not know that the hot tub had some issues, and was out of commission entirely. Management apologized, but really we would not have stayed here had I known that. They did offer a partial refund, but as soon as we checked out the communication stopped and I have not heard from them now, 2 days later."

Shadowland River Lodge is located approx. 12 miles South East of downtown Traverse City. It is nestled on 33 acres of private land with 650 feet of frontage along the Boardman River. The original log home structure was built in 1929 and in later years added on to including a kitchen, dining area, full bathroom, walk-in closet, utility room, and a riverside main bedroom.

Shadowland River Lodge currently sleeps up to 6 guests with a queen bed in the one “ conventional “ bedroom with direct river views. (red bedspread) A set of “twin” size bunk beds are in the main room (red checkered) of the cabin structure along with a “double” size futon. (Cream w/ multi-color stripes)

Our 11 yo son caught both a small catfish and pike off the dock, which were firsts for him, so he was elated. The area was quiet and peaceful, and the owners were communicating and attentive. Located seven miles from Mancelona, this woodsy retreat provides easy access to hiking, fishing, canoeing, and skiing. THE CABIN IS NOW CLOSED FOR THE 2025 SEASON. Thanks for spending part of your Spring, Summer, or Fall at the Cabin. Over the years I have found the Cabin to be a wonderful, quiet retreat. Traverse City has grown tremendously over the past few years, yet the Cabin and property have not changed much at all. Even though people continue to build throughout the area, you still see geese and loon in the early spring, hear owl during quiet nights, and see deer in the water in late fall.

The Cabin is a special place. It is a unique combination of a rustic log cabin and a modern furnished home, on a beautiful piece of property near a busy Traverse City. Please do not expect to be staying at the Grand Traverse Resort, or the Holiday Inn. The Cabin definitely has its own character. Not all the windows have screens, the driveway is not paved, and the chipmunks will join you during your morning coffee. But give the Cabin a few days, and I think you will feel what I feel, and you may be a little disappointed that time is going by so quickly. Enjoy it while you're there.

The land going toward the beach is grass, followed by moss, followed by 15 feet of sandy beach, and then you walk into the sandy-bottom lake. You can walk out about 50 feet into the water and it is still at your mid thigh. This is great for smaller children to play and swim.

Internet: Free WIFI for guests to use. Internet can be spotty because of what is available to area

Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you before you arrive. If you are fussy about the thread count of your sheets, just let us know, and we'll make sure we leave a bed open for your sheets. We have just the basics-Quilts/Comforters, sheets, pillows, pillow cases and bath towels. Please bring your beach towels from home to take to the water.

Parking: Guests can use the extra deep, 2 car garage. Maximum of 4 cars allowed on the property. One truck/trailer combo would easily fit at the property.

Pets: One dog is welcome at Cedar Cabin! Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore! Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges a $75 pet fee (per dog) for your entire stay. We do require you to pick up all of your animal's waste on the property and down all beach areas. We ask that you please clean up after your dog both inside and outside the cabin, plus, if you allow your dog on the furniture, we do ask that you please bring your own linens/blankets for them to sleep on. Just let us know which bed you will be using with them, and we'll make sure it is ready for your sheets when you arrive. We also ask that if the pet hair starts to build inside the cabin, that you please run the vacuum. Please keep in mind that pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed.

Privacy: There is a neighbor's home about 50 yards away, but there are trees which separate the spaces.

Snowmobiles: We are sorry, no snowmobiles or ATV's are allowed on the property.

Televisions: There is a Smart TV with streaming capabilities (Netflix and Amazon Prime work well, Sling TV is a bit sketchy).

Towels: Yes, we provide towels. It's always good to bring extra though. Please bring beach towels from home to use outdoors.

Wood: Guests will need to purchase their own firewood to burn. You can buy wood approximately 2.3 miles away in Cedar River or 30 minutes away in Menominee.

The resort was built in the early 40’s and has lots of local history with the people and families that have enjoyed the resort in years past. We have restored the full log cabins with new kitchens and many upgrades that make for a great vacation spot. Fife Lake was voted best inland lake in northern Michigan in 2014.

Our pristine beach is a great place to relax and soak up some sun. You can feel comfortable with the kids swimming off our beach as the water is shallow to the end of our dock. Boat rentals are available should you wish to tour the lake and find the eagles nests or loon’s nests. Beach area is closed the last weekend in September. Docks are removed for the winter.

Cabin 1 has 2 bedrooms and 2 futons that make out to double beds. Approximately 500 square feet. Sleeps 6 comfortably 8 if children are smaller. Also, this cabin has a great lake view from the living room window.

Free WiFi allows you to stream movies, or if you must, check emails or work remotely. Grab a book and hang in the hammock under the willow tree, and let the sound of the river gently lull you into a nap. Enjoy a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage on our deck overlooking the river. When evening comes, build a fire in the fire pit and make a few s'mores. When you are ready for activity, bring your own kayaks or tubes and go for a float. For a small fee, a neighbor will transport you and your vessels up or downstream. Traverse City offers many beautiful hiking trails and we are a 1/4 mile from the Boardman River Trail where you can and enjoy a hike along the river. We are eight miles from Downtown Traverse City where you can enjoy shopping, excellent restaurants, beaches, or wineries out the Old Mission Peninsula. Leelanau County is one of our favorite places to enjoy the beaches and go for hikes.

This cabin has been in our family for three generations and we have made many wonderful memories here over the years. While it is rustic, it is clean and updated with new mattresses, sheets, linens, towels, and a stove. This Charming Two Bedroom Waterfront Cottage on Lake Bellaire is perfect for your getaway in Northern Michigan. Unmatched views of the lake and your private lake front from the wooden deck are what dreams are made of. There is a mooring buoy and boat lift for your boat and the knee deep water has an all sand bottom.
There are unlimited local attractions. The Village of Bellaire is a 10 min drive. Traverse City is a 45 min drive. There are hiking and nature trails as well. The roads are perfect for a long or short bike ride.

The cabin has a queen bed in the loft and two cots that can accommodate more guests. Guests must be able to climb a wooden log ladder.

The kitchen has a two burner stove and oven that can hold a 9x13 pan. Although we do not have running water, we do have a hand washing sink as well as a sink for washing dishes. We also provide you with plenty of water for your stay. We also have dishes, utensils, hot dog sticks, fry pie makers, pots and pans, a tripod grill for over the fire and a small charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal).

Outside, we have a fire pit, wood to collect or for purchase and a hammock to fully enjoy your stay. Our bathroom is an outhouse and has been described as the “cleanest outhouse in Michigan.” Our latest addition is a rustic outdoor shower! We provide water which is heated by solar power (or you can heat some on the stove to hurry the process!)

Within 1/4 mile is the St. Joe River which is a great place for kayaking. We also have kayaks and quads for rent. We also have some short trails on the property and a rail road bed adjacent to the cabin area.

Our cabin is powered by a small and very quiet Honda generator. It is super easy to start. The cabin’s main source of heat is a wood stove with wood we provide. An air conditioner is provided for the summer.

More than two people will be an additional $10 per night per person.

The space
You will be renting a cozy new room in the lower level (finished basement-clean, dry and bright)of our newly remodeled cabin home. A family residence. There are two separate bedrooms with comfort queen beds for rent (one has an additional twin pullout comfort floor mattress) in the space with a new tastefully designed full bath and beverage area. All is crisp and clean. We have a Keurig for your complimentary use. Complimentary shampoo and conditioner, bodywash in shower. A toaster and microwave. There is no stove top nor sink for washing
There is a sitting area, and each room has a T.V.

The washer and dryer are for private use only. You will encounter my family or myself now and then at the laundry. Take your provided towels into your room to hang on hangers in your closet to reuse, please, as you are able. Please do not use any cupboards, drawers etc. outside of your room. Please take off your shoes before entering bedrooms.
There is a boot tray. Please rinse out your shower after use with cup found in the shower. It was so much appreciated. As it is shared, shower with another guest, and although we try to clean in between, we can not always time that accordingly.

One more thing. When retiring for the evening, please turn off lights not in use and make sure the exterior door to the outside up the stairs is locked.

Area is a mix of woods and open meadows.
We have dogs on invisible fences. Do not approach. The roads and neighborhoods are lovely for taking a walk!

Guests enter through the side door that faces the parking area and chicken coop (you are welcome to admire and look at chickens. Please do not enter coop) :) Using the door code, enter cabin.

Be sure the door is locked when coming and going. The door will lock automatically, but only if it is properly closed.

Walk down the stairs to the lower level. Please leave shoes outside of carpeted rooms. We have a boot tray.

There is a full guest bath shared. Please notify the host with any questions or needs.

If your stay is longer and you need sheets refreshed, please ask. There is a $10 fee for linen change. Extra towel, please ask.

Please do not use the upstairs entry bathroom marked "PRIVATE". This is for private residents in the home. Do not enter the private part of home marked "private". Take stairs down.

During your stay
Please contact the host through Airbnb. Guests have a shared full bath and common area.

Rooms are private with lock.

Please be mindful of everyone's differences and needs.

Quiet time after 11p.

We allow flexible checkin/ checkout but appreciate quiet after 11p.m. We attempt the same after 11 p.m.

The lovely interior of the Bluebird Cabin has a north woods feel and harkens from a bygone time with vintage furniture and original art (created by the property artist/owner).

It has a Double Bed to accommodate two people. Our other rental cabin, Scarlet Tanager, has two twin beds. Message us if you cannot find it and are interested in it instead.

Bathrooms, kitchen and laundry are IN A SEPARATE BUT NEARBY BUILDING in the nearby 2000 square foot barn. Think "glamping" like experience.

This is an opportunity to get Up North to get away from it all.

Peaceful relaxing all sports Lake enjoy kayaking, golfing, fishing, and power sports.

Welcome to Jack's Place! This fully renovated cottage is located just outside of Kalkaska. It shares beach access to our sandy Manistee Lake and is located in a quaint cottage community. ORV's/Snowmobiles are welcome as trail systems are easily accessible from your front door. Parking for 3 vehicles and a truck/trailer combination. Main floor is open concept that leads to a wrap around deck with BBQ gas grill. The basement is finished with two twin beds, futon, pool table. Laundry room.

Centrally located cabin just off M-115 in a private setting. This cabin is just down the road from offroad ATV trails. The Manistee river is nearby where you can enjoy miles of hiking trails such as the Manistee River Trail or the North Country Trail by access near the Hodenpyle Dam.
