The Hazy Hideaway is situated a ¼ mile off of County Road G and is nestled on over 3.0 acres within the Lautenbach Woods Nature Preserve – a Door County Land Trust, which consists of over 150 preserve acres and 2 miles of easy-to-moderate hiking trails. This custom built, tastefully decorated hand-hewn log cabin is like no other in Door County. You’ll be amazed by the open floor plan with 20 ft. high ceilings and a perfect blend of rustic flare and contemporary décor. This exceptionally clean cabin boasts 3 BR/2 ½BA with a spacious loft and screened-in porch, which is perfect for a friends and family gathering. The Hazy Hideaway is conveniently located less than 2 miles from Frank E. Murphy Park where you can enjoy the beautiful shores and sunsets of Lake Michigan. The sandy beach and public boat launch makes this a very desirable location to spend the day. The historic Horseshoe Bay Farms, legendary Horseshoe Bay Cave and the prestigious Horseshoe Bay Golf Club are also located within this same immediate area - just a stone's throw away.

This property is located on a peaceful cul-de-sac, ideal for quiet family vacations. Due to the close proximity of neighbors and local regulations, gatherings such as parties, bachelor or bachelorette events, reunions, weddings, or other large celebrations are not permitted.

Important: The wood-burning stove in the Great Room is inoperable. It has been shut off due to improper use in the past, which led to costly repairs. Attempting to use it will cause poor ventilation, soot buildup, and smoke inside the cabin. For your safety and in accordance with insurance requirements, the stove must not be used.

THE GREAT ROOM

The front of the house provides a picturesque scenic view of the outdoors with 4 oversized windows designed and crafted by Door County Rustic LLC as a “V-shaped prow,” which is an extremely challenging architectural feature of a log cabin. Gather ‘round the great room on a large sofa, love seat and recliner – all brand new furniture, which was purchased this year. Enjoy the big game or your favorite movie on the 55” inch curved 4k Samsung television with the over 200 channels offered on DirecTV. A Samsung Blu-ray DVD player also compliments this entertainment experience with a generous selection of DVD’s to choose from or bring your own if you wish. In the fall and winter months, enjoy the comfort and warmth of radiant heat flooring.

THE KITCHEN

Enjoy all the comforts of home and then some with a fully-equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances. These features include a full-size refrigerator, gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, as well as all brand new small appliances – three (3) coffee makers - a high end Keurig, Bunn and Cuisinart coffee maker (because coffee drinkers are particular), Breville hot chocolate and milk frothier, toaster, blender, tea kettle, popcorn popper, cheese boards and serving trays. Brand new professional cookware, knife set, cutting boards, serving plates, silverware, wine glasses, tumblers and Egg Harbor themed pint glasses are conveniently located within the kitchen cabinets or hanging on the wall-mounted racks. Children’s plates and cups are also provided for our younger guests.

MASTER BEDROOM and EN SUITE - 1st FLOOR

Nothing compares to a quality night’s sleep on a brand new luxurious mattress. You’ll find that in the master bedroom, which is located on the 1st floor and perfectly situated with a custom built, king size, log frame bed. Linens, pillows and pillowcases are provided. Unpack and unwind – 2 spacious dressers will accommodate your clothing and personal belongings on your extended stay. A 40” inch flat screen 4k Samsung television with DirecTV and Blu-ray player highlights the room if you want to catch the late show prior to calling it a night. The table lamp is equipped with a USB port to charge your phone or small electronic device while you sleep. The En Suite is uniquely furnished with an antique sink and vanity. Relax in the morning or at the end of the day in the two-person “Jacuzzi” tub. A separate stand-alone shower is also conveniently located adjacent to the “Jacuzzi.”

THE DINING ROOM

Enjoy an exceptional dining experience on a one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted, solid wood dining room table complete with six (6) matching solid wood chairs. Sit back and take-in the tranquility of the nature preserve as you watch through the abundance of windows offering a picture-perfect view. For additional seating, there are four (4) hand-crafted bar stools made from natural birch timber available at the kitchen counter.

THE LOFT

Need some quite time? The loft provides the perfect setting to relax, unwind, take a nap or maybe read a book. We’ve kept this simple and sweet by furnishing it with a smaller sofa, which pulls out to a full size bed, lamp and accent table. A shuffleboard table was recently added for some in-home entertainment.

THE SCREENED-IN PORCH

A room set aside from all the rest – simply impeccable in the spring, summer and fall. The screened-in porch is furnished with an outdoor Sunvilla sofa with "Sunbrella" cushions, as well as two (2) Sunvilla cushioned chairs with accent tables. Gather some friends or family and relish in conversation as you take in the cool breeze. In addition, you can stock your favorite beverage or chill that bottle of wine in a Tommy Bahama Teak wooden cart cooler, conveniently located within the screened-in porch.

GUEST BEDROOMS - 2nd FLOOR

Bedroom #1: Sleeping arrangements consist of a queen size bed and handmade log bunk beds – twin size on top with a full size on the bottom. Amenities include an accent dresser, night stand a 40’ inch flat screen Samsung 1080p television with DirecTV and storage closet.
Bedroom #2: Sleeping arrangements consist of two (2) separate extra-long twin size beds, a night stand dresser and storage closet with puzzles and games – ideal for the kids and younger guests.

Boyer Log Cabin is a 3 Bed/3 Bath Wisconsin Log Home centrally located in Egg Harbor for easy access to all Door County activities. Our home is situated on 40 wooded acres that have wide walking trails throughout the hardwood forest. In addition, the 155-acre Door County Land Trust - Oak Road Preserve - is located directly across the road and offers almost 2 miles of walking trails. It's beautiful!!

If you are interested in specific amenities please ask me (Becky) and I will confirm. The other day VRBO said I had a pool at our Boyer Log Cabin (I wish). We want our guests to have a great stay with no surprises or disappointments, so if you see a Pool listed anywhere, sorry, we don't have one - thanks!

We sleep 6 humans (no exceptions) and we allow you to bring ONE (1) dog for a fee. Please respect our neighbor's peace and quiet and do not leave your dog tied to a lead outside barking all day. Please do not bring your dog if they are going to just sit there and bark; that's no fun for your furry family member or our neighbors. Thank you.

Inside the home, you will find 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, one of each on each level. A King bed is located on the top level, a Full bed is located on the main level (where the kitchen, living room, Smart TV, and wood-burning fireplace are), and a Queen bed is located on the lower level (where the entrance off the driveway is located). Also on the lower level, you will find a couch and chair in another sitting area with another Smart TV. A bathroom is located on each level. A fully stocked kitchen with items needed to prepare meals, a large refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, salad spinner, blender, crock pot, propane gas stove, and dishwasher. A full Washer and Dryer are located on the lower level with Central Air throughout the home. Our WIFI is AT&T fiber optics and we have a CHARCOAL grill for outside use.

There is a large great room with a field-stone wood-burning fireplace. The covered porch is just off the great room. Huge yard with fire pit and wooden chairs. This log home is one of the best ways to experience Door County, close to everything but secluded and away from it all. We hope you don't expect the Four Seasons Hotel; we try our best and hope you enjoy your stay! We do allow you to bring your well-behaved dog (1-dog) for a $90 fee; please don't forget to include your furry family member when booking, thank you! - "We had such a wonderful week at the Boyer Log Cabin it was so hard to pack up and leave. The house is very warm and inviting with plenty of space. The first couple of days we were in the house, we had family visiting with us, and they all stated how beautiful the house was and how comfortable it was. The next few days we had as just us - me, my husband, our 16 month old son and our German Shepherd. Our son only started walking independently 7 weeks ago, so watching him walk the trails in the woods, and even down the long driveway, was a treat for us. We enjoyed making dinner at the cabin each night and breakfast most mornings. We used the charcoal grill available to us, and it worked great. We enjoyed a couple of campfires and enjoyed star gazing. It was so peaceful and secluded feeling while only minutes away from 'the action.' We were conveniently located to everything we wanted to do - and we went from Sturgeon Bay up to Washington Island and everywhere in between throughout the week. We really have no complaints about the property or the property managers - it was a wonderful experience, and I even go teary-eyed as we pulled away. Thank you for helping make our family vacation worry free and one to remember! We'll definitely consider renting this cabin again, and we'll recommend it to anyone!"

The perfect romantic or family getaway. This lovely log cabin spot is cozy and quiet, but located minutes from the waterfront village of Egg Harbor. Nestled in the woods, you will think you are miles from anyone else but you can still enjoy all the theater, arts, shopping, outdoor sports and great festivals of Door County without any lengthy travel time.

The cabin consists of a natural log great room finished with a locally sourced hardwood floor and welcoming rugs, with sleeping alcove on the first floor. In the sleeping alcove there is a comfy queen sized bed with welcoming sheets and bedding. There is a wall length linen privacy curtain if you would like to use it -- great if you want to read by the fire and your significant other wants to sleep! On the first floor is a full bathroom with walk in shower, complete kitchen with dishwasher and full sized appliances and living area with wood burning fireplace. The loft stairs are steep with handrails, but perfectly safe. The loft is definitely not suitable for small children or people with mobility issues. The stairs lead to a loft area with two twin beds plus door to private second floor deck. Amenities include large fire pit outdoors, generous front porch for enjoying the night air, wood burning fireplace, completely wooded 1.5 acre property, Firewood is not provided by us but we do have local firewood there that is for sale by a lovely local company -- or buy your own locally. Spectrum cable internet, streaming television with dvd player and internet/wifi. The company Mosquito Squad sprays the acreage with people and pet friendly spray to keep the mosquitos and ticks under control.

The cabin is available year round and is located near snow shoe trails, cross country skiing areas and many restaurants that are open all year. Egg Harbor is ten minutes from Fish Creek and Baileys Harbor and 20 minutes from Sister Bay. Up to two dogs allowed for stays at this cabin.

The kitchen was well supplied with what we needed to use to cook. Only thing we could have used were some storage containers. Loren was great with communication with answering right away with any concerns or questions. My husband thought it was great that we could park the car in the garage. There was plenty of seating for eight people inside and outside which was nice. Overall it was a great place to stay."

Outdoors, guests will have access to a gas grill, ropes course, children's bikes, basketball hoop, an array of yard games, fire pit and five acres of woods to explore.

Please note that you must be 24 years of age to book our home. A government issued photo identification will be used by VRBO to verify age upon booking.

Guests will be provided with a keypad code prior to check in. We are available to answer questions and happy to help in any way via text message or VRBO app.

Please note that there is no cable tv and streaming is not available. This property is very wooded and in a rural area and wifi is spotty at best. If you are hoping to work or be connected this property will not fit your needs. There is a tv with an extensive dvd library. Most phones will have cell service and we do have a cell booster. Please turn your phone off and back on again when you arrive so you're connected to the nearest tower-this is usually helpful. People who have good coverage with hot spots may find this as an option.

If you would like to use a high chair or pack n play please let the host know prior to check in so the housekeeper can leave out for your stay.

Great place and convenient location. Worked nicely for myself and coworkers in town for an event. It’s a new build and appointed very nicely. A few things to get dialed in yet, but nothing that detracted from our stay. 1) I would recommend a pullout couch in the office - extra sleeping space on main level. 2) For some strange reason all of the Kleenex holders were empty. 3) Would have been nice to have a few more towels and washcloths available.

This is a gorgeous place, with fantastic accommodations in the heart of Egg Harbor. My family enjoyed every moment in the house, the sauna, the amazing back deck, and the fantastic grill. Everything was in pristine condition, and the house was squeaky clean. We all walked the short distance into downtown each day and enjoyed the restaurants, shops, distilleries and brew pubs. Lots of fun bear decorations in the house! My nephew and I counted at least 112. There are probably more! :) We put the kids in the loft bed which worked great, although it might be a bit awkward for an adult couple. All said, we'd absolutely come back in the future!

You can enjoy the wood burning fireplace and proximity to Egg Harbor in the winter, watch the wild life come alive in the spring, relax after a day at the beach in the summer, and take in the seasonal colors and fall festivities!

The house accommodates 4 people with full 1 bed and a queen pull out couch.

We have high speed wifi that can stream TV. It includes a mesh router and 2 extenders to get wifi in and out of the house.

The TV in the Living room is a Amazon Fire TV. You can download and log into any app and stream from your profile.

The master bedroom has one queen bed and a newly renovated marble and limestone bathroom with extra large shower. The second bedroom (upstairs) has three twin beds. There is also an attached, newly renovated full bathroom. Downstairs you will find a living room with wood burning fireplace (firewood provided) and flat screen tv with dvd collection, a fully equipped kitchen, two screened porches, a powder room, and a front porch for relaxing. The kitchen is equipped with pots, pans, spices, olive oil, tea, coffee, a coffee maker, and all of your basic necessities to cook. Outdoors, guests will have access to a gas grill, ropes course, children's bikes, basketball hoop, an array of yard games, fire pit (wood provided) and five acres of woods to explore.

Other things to note
Please note that the person booking the home must be at least 24 years of age. A government issued identification will be reviewed after the booking. Cancellations will be made by Airbnb for guests that are not of booking age.

There is no cable tv.

Please note that internet service around the entire peninsula is inconsistent. Our property is extremely wooded and service tends to be spotty or inaccessible. You will find that your personal hot spot works better(we do have a cell booster). If house provided wifi is essential during your stay this vintage cabin in the woods will not suit your needs.

Please let host know ahead of time if you would like to use a high chair or pack n play so that housekeeper can leave out.

The price includes local Door County State taxes and Wisconsin State taxes.

You’ll love this log cabin because of its quiet, but not remote location minutes from Egg Harbor. It is located on 1.5 wooded acres. The cabin is great for couples, solo adventurers, small families (with older kids), and furry friends (pets). Wood burning fireplace. We have Mosquito Squad spray with pet and people friendly spray to keep the mosquito and tick population limited -- and it works well!

The space
Unique open concept layout means that you have access to all areas, at all times -- and makes for a fun family and/or romantic stay. The first floor is set up with a lovely seating area, has complete kitchen with dining table and a comfy alcove for first floor sleeping. Open concept means lovely view of the wood burning fireplace right from your bed on the first floor, but a linen floor to ceiling privacy curtain is available for those times when one of you wants to stay up and enjoy a book for a while when someone else is still sitting in the living room area! There are rather steep stairs leading to the open loft area where there is storage, two twin beds and a small deck great for reading or an evening cocktail. The loft is not suitable for people with mobility issues or for small children. The only door that can be closed for total "door" privacy is the bathroom door. There is a free standing wood screen in the loft to provide some visual privacy but the loft is completely open to the great room also. There is a gas grill and outdoor seating near the huge fire pit. We are not able to provide firewood. Firewood is available locally from most gas stations and stores and roadside stands. And we have a company that delivers firewood for purchase right to the cabin to make it more convenient for you. Two decks -- the large one on the front of the cabin. The second one is off the second floor loft. We use Mosquito Squad to keep mosquitos and ticks down so you can really enjoy the 1.5 wooded acres. Ten minutes from Fish Creek, Sister Bay and Baileys Harbor -- and less than 2 miles to Egg Harbor. Perfect location in the woods -- quiet and peaceful -- but still minutes from everything Door County has to offer.

Guest access
Access to entire log cabin and 1.5 wooded acres is available. This property has adjoining private woods and hunting areas. If you would like to enjoy a leisurely walk in the woods, we encourage you to visit any of our wonderful county and state parks.

Other things to note
This cabin is open in all seasons and in all weather. There is great heating and air conditioning to make your stay comfortable.


We have decided not to continue supplying small hand soaps, small bottles of shampoo and conditioner for your use. In our efforts to provide a green friendly and virus safe environment for you, we have discontinued them – but will leave bulk sized bottles for your use of hand soap, shampoo and conditioner. We will wash those bottles prior to your arrival. We will leave extra cleaning supplies and sprays under kitchen and bathroom cabinets.

We include a gas outdoor grills and we will be certain to leave a back up small gas tank if needed at that rental. Please bag all garbage and leave in the place designated for each rental – garbage cans are located on the property. Lawn care is provided to us every week to two weeks. We are often not aware what date they will be coming – but please rest assured that they will be fast and will not interrupt your visit.

Winter tends to linger in this part of Wisconsin. Basically from November 1 until April 30 we will be covering, removing and/or storing your outside dining and firepit furniture. The gas grill is kept on our porch so that is available if you want to brave the winter weather!

Nestled in the woods, the lodge provides plenty of light for an open, cheery feeling. Easy sleeping for 6 people (8 max.) with 3 bedrooms & a sofa bed. Accommodations include 2 full baths, laundry room, fully equipped kitchen, dining room, and living room with a natural stone fireplace. Covered front porch wraps around to a back deck offering a therapeutic hot tub. We have meticulous cleaners & sanitize between each stay.

The space
Each bedroom features log beds, hand-made by the home's builder. A king bed is located in the master bedroom downstairs. A stunning log staircase leads to the second floor, where you will find two more bedrooms and a full bath. One upstairs bedroom provides a queen bed and the second upstairs bedroom features a bunk bed which has a full bottom and twin top. Each of these bedrooms have their own sliding patio doors onto a covered deck off the back of the home. The loft area upstairs is a cozy reading spot with a love seat (which can be pulled out into a twin bed suitable for a child). There is also a pull-out bed in the living room sofa by the fireplace.

The house is beautifully decorated with custom-made barn board and distressed pine furniture through-out, as well as custom wrought-iron light fixtures in the kitchen and dining room.

You may not even want to leave the house, but if you do you are also just a four mile drive straight down Bay Shore Drive to Frank E. Murphy Park, where you will find a sandy beach and a public boat launch in the summer. There are numerous snow mobile trails throughout the county. Enjoy beautiful fall foliage or the hopeful blooms of spring.

Nearby towns include Egg Harbor village, Sturgeon Bay and quaint Carlsville. A scenic drive will lead you to any of the beautiful villages on the Door Peninsula.

The Egg Harbor public beach is just a 1/2 mile drive. Fall in love with the Larsen Lodge and all Door County has to offer!

Great place and convenient location. Worked nicely for myself and coworkers in town for an event. It’s a new build and appointed very nicely. A few things to get dialed in yet, but nothing that detracted from our stay. 1) I would recommend a pullout couch in the office - extra sleeping space on main level. 2) For some strange reason all of the Kleenex holders were empty. 3) Would have been nice to have a few more towels and washcloths available.
Regardless, we hope to be back in future years.

This is a gorgeous place, with fantastic accommodations in the heart of Egg Harbor. My family enjoyed every moment in the house, the sauna, the amazing back deck, and the fantastic grill. Everything was in pristine condition, and the house was squeaky clean. We all walked the short distance into downtown each day and enjoyed the restaurants, shops, distilleries and brew pubs. Lots of fun bear decorations in the house! My nephew and I counted at least 112. There are probably more! :) We put the kids in the loft bed which worked great, although it might be a bit awkward for an adult couple. All said, we'd absolutely come back in the future!
