The Hazy Hideaway is situated a ¼ mile off of County Road G and is nestled on over 3.0 acres within the Lautenbach Woods Nature Preserve – a Door County Land Trust, which consists of over 150 preserve acres and 2 miles of easy-to-moderate hiking trails. This custom built, tastefully decorated hand-hewn log cabin is like no other in Door County. You’ll be amazed by the open floor plan with 20 ft. high ceilings and a perfect blend of rustic flare and contemporary décor. This exceptionally clean cabin boasts 3 BR/2 ½BA with a spacious loft and screened-in porch, which is perfect for a friends and family gathering. This property is located on a peaceful cul-de-sac, ideal for quiet family vacations. Due to the close proximity of neighbors and local regulations, gatherings such as parties, bachelor or bachelorette events, reunions, weddings, or other large celebrations are not permitted.

Important: The wood-burning stove in the Great Room is inoperable. It has been shut off due to improper use in the past, which led to costly repairs. Attempting to use it will cause poor ventilation, soot buildup, and smoke inside the cabin. For your safety and in accordance with insurance requirements, the stove must not be used.

THE KITCHEN

Enjoy all the comforts of home and then some with a fully-equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances. These features include a full-size refrigerator, gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, as well as all brand new small appliances – three (3) coffee makers - a high end Keurig, Bunn and Cuisinart coffee maker (because coffee drinkers are particular), Breville hot chocolate and milk frothier, toaster, blender, tea kettle, popcorn popper, cheese boards and serving trays. Brand new professional cookware, knife set, cutting boards, serving plates, silverware, wine glasses, tumblers and Egg Harbor themed pint glasses are conveniently located within the kitchen cabinets or hanging on the wall-mounted racks. MASTER BEDROOM and EN SUITE - 1st FLOOR

Nothing compares to a quality night’s sleep on a brand new luxurious mattress. You’ll find that in the master bedroom, which is located on the 1st floor and perfectly situated with a custom built, king size, log frame bed. Linens, pillows and pillowcases are provided. Unpack and unwind – 2 spacious dressers will accommodate your clothing and personal belongings on your extended stay. A 40” inch flat screen 4k Samsung television with DirecTV and Blu-ray player highlights the room if you want to catch the late show prior to calling it a night. The table lamp is equipped with a USB port to charge your phone or small electronic device while you sleep. The En Suite is uniquely furnished with an antique sink and vanity. Relax in the morning or at the end of the day in the two-person “Jacuzzi” tub. A separate stand-alone shower is also conveniently located adjacent to the “Jacuzzi.”

THE DINING ROOM

Enjoy an exceptional dining experience on a one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted, solid wood dining room table complete with six (6) matching solid wood chairs. THE LOFT

Need some quite time? The loft provides the perfect setting to relax, unwind, take a nap or maybe read a book. We’ve kept this simple and sweet by furnishing it with a smaller sofa, which pulls out to a full size bed, lamp and accent table. A shuffleboard table was recently added for some in-home entertainment.

THE SCREENED-IN PORCH

A room set aside from all the rest – simply impeccable in the spring, summer and fall. The screened-in porch is furnished with an outdoor Sunvilla sofa with "Sunbrella" cushions, as well as two (2) Sunvilla cushioned chairs with accent tables. Gather some friends or family and relish in conversation as you take in the cool breeze. Boyer Log Cabin is a 3 Bed/3 Bath Wisconsin Log Home centrally located in Egg Harbor for easy access to all Door County activities. Our home is situated on 40 wooded acres that have wide walking trails throughout the hardwood forest. In addition, the 155-acre Door County Land Trust - Oak Road Preserve - is located directly across the road and offers almost 2 miles of walking trails. It's beautiful!!

If you are interested in specific amenities please ask me (Becky) and I will confirm. The other day VRBO said I had a pool at our Boyer Log Cabin (I wish). We want our guests to have a great stay with no surprises or disappointments, so if you see a Pool listed anywhere, sorry, we don't have one - thanks!

We sleep 6 humans (no exceptions) and we allow you to bring ONE (1) dog for a fee. Please respect our neighbor's peace and quiet and do not leave your dog tied to a lead outside barking all day. Please do not bring your dog if they are going to just sit there and bark; that's no fun for your furry family member or our neighbors. Thank you.

Inside the home, you will find 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, one of each on each level. A King bed is located on the top level, a Full bed is located on the main level (where the kitchen, living room, Smart TV, and wood-burning fireplace are), and a Queen bed is located on the lower level (where the entrance off the driveway is located). Also on the lower level, you will find a couch and chair in another sitting area with another Smart TV. A bathroom is located on each level. A fully stocked kitchen with items needed to prepare meals, a large refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, salad spinner, blender, crock pot, propane gas stove, and dishwasher. A full Washer and Dryer are located on the lower level with Central Air throughout the home. Our WIFI is AT&T fiber optics and we have a CHARCOAL grill for outside use.

There is a large great room with a field-stone wood-burning fireplace. The covered porch is just off the great room. Huge yard with fire pit and wooden chairs. This log home is one of the best ways to experience Door County, close to everything but secluded and away from it all. We hope you don't expect the Four Seasons Hotel; we try our best and hope you enjoy your stay! We do allow you to bring your well-behaved dog (1-dog) for a $90 fee; please don't forget to include your furry family member when booking, thank you! - "We had such a wonderful week at the Boyer Log Cabin it was so hard to pack up and leave. The house is very warm and inviting with plenty of space. The first couple of days we were in the house, we had family visiting with us, and they all stated how beautiful the house was and how comfortable it was. The next few days we had as just us - me, my husband, our 16 month old son and our German Shepherd. Our son only started walking independently 7 weeks ago, so watching him walk the trails in the woods, and even down the long driveway, was a treat for us. We enjoyed making dinner at the cabin each night and breakfast most mornings. We used the charcoal grill available to us, and it worked great. We enjoyed a couple of campfires and enjoyed star gazing. It was so peaceful and secluded feeling while only minutes away from 'the action.' We were conveniently located to everything we wanted to do - and we went from Sturgeon Bay up to Washington Island and everywhere in between throughout the week. We really have no complaints about the property or the property managers - it was a wonderful experience, and I even go teary-eyed as we pulled away. Thank you for helping make our family vacation worry free and one to remember! We'll definitely consider renting this cabin again, and we'll recommend it to anyone!"

The perfect romantic or family getaway. This lovely log cabin spot is cozy and quiet, but located minutes from the waterfront village of Egg Harbor. Nestled in the woods, you will think you are miles from anyone else but you can still enjoy all the theater, arts, shopping, outdoor sports and great festivals of Door County without any lengthy travel time.

The cabin consists of a natural log great room finished with a locally sourced hardwood floor and welcoming rugs, with sleeping alcove on the first floor. In the sleeping alcove there is a comfy queen sized bed with welcoming sheets and bedding. There is a wall length linen privacy curtain if you would like to use it -- great if you want to read by the fire and your significant other wants to sleep! On the first floor is a full bathroom with walk in shower, complete kitchen with dishwasher and full sized appliances and living area with wood burning fireplace. The loft stairs are steep with handrails, but perfectly safe. The loft is definitely not suitable for small children or people with mobility issues. The stairs lead to a loft area with two twin beds plus door to private second floor deck. Amenities include large fire pit outdoors, generous front porch for enjoying the night air, wood burning fireplace, completely wooded 1.5 acre property, Firewood is not provided by us but we do have local firewood there that is for sale by a lovely local company -- or buy your own locally. Spectrum cable internet, streaming television with dvd player and internet/wifi. The company Mosquito Squad sprays the acreage with people and pet friendly spray to keep the mosquitos and ticks under control.

The cabin is available year round and is located near snow shoe trails, cross country skiing areas and many restaurants that are open all year. Egg Harbor is ten minutes from Fish Creek and Baileys Harbor and 20 minutes from Sister Bay. Up to two dogs allowed for stays at this cabin.

We named our home after our 4-year-old yellow lab who loves everything about our property. She especially loves launching herself off the dock to chase a ball or jumping in the boat as our boys head out to do a little fishing, so much she wears a lifejacket! She is so happy we bought this home for her...

While we do allow dogs, we have a strict one dog maximum. We are very sorry, but this is necessary to properly maintain our property for future guests as well as assist our cleaning service during guest turnover. Sorry, we cannot make any exceptions to this policy.

Experience our warm and inviting 2400 square foot (approx. 1,500 sf main level and 900 sf walkout basement) Bay Shore home located on a 3.3-acre heavily wooded lot set far back from the road with 200 feet of waterfront. The open concept main floor features a living room (20' x 15'), dining room (12' x 10'), kitchen (13' x 14'), master bedroom (14' x 13' with new Verlo queen mattress), 2nd bedroom (14' x 10' with 2 twin beds and pull out trundle bed), 3rd bedroom (12' x 12' with new Verlo queen mattress), full bathroom, and powder room. The main floor also includes a wood-burning fireplace set in a gorgeous stone chimney and sliding doors that walk out to a 14' x 53' elevated deck. Living room, dining room, kitchen and master bedroom all have amazing views of the Bay! It even has a nice sized screened porch (22' x 6') off the dining room facing the Bay and a 2 car garage for your use. Has forced air heat and central air conditioning. The living room also has a large screen TV with DVD player with local channel television stations.

The walkout basement features a giant recreation room (15' x 36') with pool table, full bath, nice sized bedroom, gas fireplace and new carpet. Wall to wall windows and door leading outside provide great light and views of the Bay. In addition to the two twin beds plus trundle in the basement bedroom, the basement couch also converts to a queen sized bed. Basement has a laundry room with new high capacity washer and dryer. Basement recreation room also has a large screen TV with Xbox, Wii and local television channels. Recreation room has tons of space for the kids to play while the adults can enjoy peace and quiet upstairs!

The large main deck has a patio table that seats 8 plus stairs to a lower deck that has a table with seating for 4-6 people. The main deck also has a nice sized area with Adirondack chairs. Both decks overlook the Bay.

The property has a large grassy sitting area on the shore with a picnic table and a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs. The shore also includes a dock with both ladder and stairs for swimming and water fun! There is even a swing set with a slide, 2 kayaks and paddleboard for use by all guests. Life vests also provided! Do not tie kayak or paddle board to dock as this will damage our dock due to waves tugging on kayak/paddle board and therefore damaging dock.

VERY IMPORTANT: Guests cannot use our dock or boat lift to store there own boats. Any boat tied to our dock will very quickly damage our dock and your boat. The dock is not designed for boat tie ups. Egg Harbor Marina and Murphy Park offer boat ramps for daily boat trips.
