This is a open studio cabin, 1 queen size bed, 1 full bathroom also has a full kitchen, air conditioning, furnace, outdoor fire ring, free wifi and cable TV all for you to use. We are on a busy state highway so traffic noise can be load during the day. However as the sun goes down so does the noise. We have installed double pane windows, constructed a private fence all to help with traffic noise.
We are just about 10 minutes away if you ever need anything.
We hope you appreciate our cabin location beyond being so close to Frankfort/Lake Michigan, Crystal Lake, rails/trails bike path, Crystal Mnt, you could also take advantage of the Little River Casino 30 miles away, Sleeping Bear Dunes only 26 miles away, and Traverse City is 36 miles away. There is world class golf, fishing, hunting, sightseeing, fall colors, kayaking, canoeing, skiing, snowboarding all near by. Our area was voted number 1 place to visit by US News and world report.

When you walk in our newly renovated upper unit you'll walk in to a bright and airy entry. (Keep in mind there are 10 steps to reach the upper unit.) The kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs. We have everything you'll need to cook a gourmet meal, including some essential spices! Our kitchen table will accommodate all your guests for a wonderful meal and is also a great gathering place for game night! The living room is comfortable for all with a sofa and two chairs as well as a Smart TV for your viewing pleasure. The sofa pulls out to a full size bed for your extra guests. Our bedrooms are comfortable with crisp linens and wonderful Dreamcloud mattresses. Our bathroom is small, but is equipped with all you may need during your stay from a blow dryer to make-up mirror to essentials such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, Q-tips, cotton balls, and even hair ties! If you forget a few things we have some backups for you (toothpaste, toothbrushes, shave cream.) During the spring, summer and fall you'll be able to sit out on the deck and enjoy the peek-a-boo view of Betsie Bay while you enjoy a cold beverage and whatever you decide to cook on the grill! *Please note that although our property can easily accommodate 6, it is probably more suitable for 4 due to having 1 bathroom.

You have access to the entire top floor of our carriage house with two decks, outside seating area, propane grill, full kitchen, bar seating area, 50” TV, and just a quick walk (about 300 yards) from the best Michigan sunsets and beach access! This is in the top of our carriage house which is on our property and is a short distance from the best walking, hiking, bird watching, and biking trails in northern Michigan with many breathtaking views of Lake Michigan from the bluffs. We are just a quick few minute drive into Frankfort where you will find beautiful beaches, pier, tons of shops and yummy restaurants, historic movie theatre, Stormcloud Brewery, 4 ice cream shops, parks, etc. We are about 35 minutes from Sleeping Bear Dunes if you’re looking for an easy day trip. This is northern Michigan at its best! We have another property nearby we have been super hosts with for 5 years so we know how to take care of our guests!

Both bedrooms have a Casper memory foam queen size bed, with fresh white linens and a selection of pillows for your sleeping needs. The bedrooms also include open closet space with built-in shelving units. The spacious private master baths have custom tile showers and vanity space stocked with basic toiletries.

The decor is crisp, clean and eclectic. Boasting classic features with modern amenities. James is efficient and open in the common spaces, yet quiet and secluded in each of his master suites. This house has been designed specifically with you, the traveler, in mind.

James is just around the corner from the downtown center; you can easily wander the Saturday farmer's market a few blocks away or take your coffee to the beach. The Poplar apartment has a private entrance but is attached to a larger home called Spruce. It can be rented separately or by a large group in the Spruce with doors connecting the units on the main and bedroom floors. *Spruce and Poplar are automatically rented as one unit during summer (June, July, August).

Poplar two bedroom, 1.5 baths sleeps 8 in beds and has a large sofa, sleeper sofa and rollaway to accommodate a few more. Fully appointed modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances open to the main floor living space.

The Frankfort area is home to a deep water marina, the Stormcloud Brewery, Pointe Betsie Lighthouse, Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, Arcadia Bluffs Golf Courses, wine tours, skiing at Crystal Mountain and you don't need to leave our property to hike, mountain bike and explore the dune and forests. Snowshoeing and cross country skiing can be enjoyed from your front door in the Winter. - "To be honest, we reserved the apartment mostly because of the numerous reviews saying how clean it was. And it was very clean. What the reviews didn’t say was how quiet it was. Located, as it is, on a dead end road for which there would be no other purpose of driving there other than to go to one of the few residences on Didrikson Road, the country environment is extremely quiet. There is no sound from the closest highway. The unit is comfortable, parking is literally in front of the door, and the amenities were as promised. Still, it is very close to the trailhead and almost as close to Frankfort. There are likely scores of other choices in Frankfort and/or closer to the beaches; however, I can’t imagine them being as peaceful or, of course, anywhere near as clean. Also, if you have a bike, the access to town could not be easier."

Both bedrooms are luxurious and comfortable with plenty of storage, especially in the walk-in closet in the main bedroom and numerous drawers for toiletries and cosmetics in the main bathroom. The second bathroom has a glass enclosed tub/shower combo that worked well for our teenager. There is an abundant supply of soft towels and lots of soft fleecy throw blankets in every room. The main bedroom has a portable AC unit so you can cool the room off a bit if you’d like. We didn’t need to use it much. We loved the downtown lifestyle, walking to restaurants, shops, ice cream, and the beach! Bring your bikes to ride the nearby trails or ride through the streets to see all the pretty houses. The location in Elberta is great, with the Cabbage Shed restaurant right across, the Furnace Street distillery down the road (best wood fired pizza on site from a food truck, Hearth and Hops) and all the fun of Frankfort right around the bay. We loved the Elberta beach, it is less crowded than Frankfort. Lots to do in this area. If you are looking for a short hike to another pristine Lake Michigan beach, check out Green Point Dunes. Storm cloud brewery in Frankfort and Five shores brewing in Beulah are great. Will definitely be back. "

The space
The space is actually a guest house attached to a garage. It is 1650 square feet so lots of room. It is three different levels with the bedrooms and bathrooms on the top and bottom floors. What makes Big Red so special, is the fact that you can be within walking distance to downtown but the home sits just slightly out of town upon a hill where you get gorgeous views. There isn't a day that goes by when you don't see a bunny or deer snacking on the crab apple tree directly behind the home. It truly is the best of both worlds - convenience with ample amount of room and the feeling of quiet - perfect for relaxation.

You'll have access to the entire property except for the upstairs & inside of garage.

Our house was built in 1926, and while we've done a lot to make it feel homey, comfortable, and beautiful, it still retains some of its original quirks.

As you explore the house, you may notice that the floors and doors can be a bit squeaky, adding a touch of nostalgia to your stay. The bathroom, while functional, is on the smaller side. Several of the windows in the sunroom and porch are painted shut, but we have provided additional options such as add-in screens or dowels to prop open the ones that are accessible. Additionally, fans are available in each bedroom to ensure your comfort on warmer days.

The washer and dryer are located in our semi-unfinished Michigan basement. Please keep in mind that the stairs leading to the basement are typical of older homes, so we kindly advise using them with a little extra caution.

While our home has its imperfections, we believe they contribute to its unique charm. We hope you appreciate the character and history it brings, and that you have a wonderful time experiencing its timeless appeal.

The Space:
Welcome to the Congregational Summer Assembly (CSA) and step back in time to this wholesome, peaceful resort offering family events and activities. Our rustic cabin features a large primary bedroom with a king bed, an old-school upper-level bunk room, a screen porch, and all the peace and relaxation you could want.

The activities are posted weekly and include arts and crafts, dancing, tennis, watersports, theater, bible studies, nature observation, area history, yoga, swimming lessons, and water aerobics. This community has multiple tennis and pickleball courts and offers private beach access to Crystal Lake and Lake Michigan.

Step inside this wooded, rustic cabin with a recent addition of a primary bedroom with a king bed, half bath, fireplace, and walk-out deck, offering a place to rest and relax. The cozy kitchen has everything you need to cook on your vacation including a small electric stovetop and oven. The living room has a propane stove for heat and opens to a screened-in porch, which has a dining room table and additional relaxed seating. The porch is the perfect place to sit for meals between activities, play games, read, or build puzzles. Take the stairs up to the loft where the second floor has been sectioned into 3 sleeping areas-2 with queen beds, and 1 with twin bunks. Open the windows to appreciate the sounds of nature and the gentle evening breezes.

From the house, you can walk or drive to all the fun on the property. Time moves slower here and the opportunities for enjoyment are endless. The exclusivity of activities to just the residents and their guests throughout the summer allows for new friendships to be made. During your weeklong stay you will make many memories and it may become your groups annual summer vacation tradition.

Rental Policy:
- No smoking of any kind or fireworks are permitted.
- No events, parties, or large gatherings are permitted.
- Primary guest must sign rental agreement and water waiver prior to their stay. This will be sent to their email on file.

CSA Rental and Guest Policy:
- Weekly rentals only. 6-night minimum is required.
- Check-in 3:00 pm Check-out 10:00 am
- CSA office hours Monday-Friday from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- CSA Registration is required upon arrival. Costs $41 per person/per week for all guests over 3 years old. Activities are planned a week in advance and posted each Sunday by 4 pm on the porch of the Assembly Building and on their website.
- Vehicle Stickers are required. Costs $20 per car. Max 2 cars.
- Guest tennis at the Woods Court is an additional cost of $5 per day.
- No motorcycles, campers, RVs.
- Yellow bag trash system. Garbage pick-up is on Tuesdays and Fridays on the CSA grounds located at South Shore Drive and M-22. You may purchase the yellow bags required for trash pick-up at the CSA office or Family Fare market in Frankfort. Yellow bags cannot be put out the night before. If you miss trash day you must remove all trash from the property before, checkout.

To help you relax and enjoy your stay, we have partnered with Safely to provide all reservations with damage protection. The cost for Safely is $65 for 1-29 nights, $300 for 30-59 nights, $395 for 60-89 nights, and $475 for 90-119 nights. All reservations will initially be charged a $65 Safely Damage Insurance Fee. For stays longer than 29 nights, the additional charges will be processed after booking. All reservations are subject to the guest agreement terms, conditions, and fees.

Guest Access:
This property features self-check-in. Check-in is permitted between 3:00 pm -10:00 pm. Guest are responsible for having their check-in instruction before arrival. Check-in instructions are sent after completing our guest check-in form and agreeing to our terms of service. The home's property address will also be sent separately 72 hours prior to check-in.

1 Set of shower towels has been provided per guest. Beach towels are also provided but must be washed, dried, and put away prior to checkout if you choose to use them. Please clean out the lint trap after each use.

Guests are provided with a small amount of the basic essentials including 2 rolls of paper towels, 2 rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom, 2 laundry pods, 2 dish pods, a full dish soap dispenser, and full soap dispensers in each bathroom, and basic cleaning supplies. Guests are not to use the host's inventory of bulk supplies left at the property and should be prepared to supply their own as needed for longer stays.

CHECK OUT INSTRUCTIONS:
•November-April: Set the heat/thermostat to 55 degrees and close the blinds.
•May-October: Shut off everything and close the blinds.
•Strip beds (not mattress pads) and pile all sheets and towels on the floor near the washer. Start a load of towels in the washer. (If applicable.)
•If you used more than 2 shower towels, hand towels, or washcloths per person we ask that you wash, dry, and put the excess away before checking out. (If applicable.)
•Dispose of all food. No food or beverages are to be left inside the property.
•Put all trash in the garbage bin. Trash instructions are noted in your Guest Guide Link. Please take the trash to the road if your stay falls on or within 48 hours of trash day.

- "wonderful rustic house in a great location" - "The location is fantastic! If you are not familiar with the Congregational Summer Assembly (CSA), it is an association of cottages established in 1918. There is a common activity building, tennis/pickleball courts, a private beach area on Crystal Lake, private beach access to Lake MI, and daily activities (tennis, swim lessons, crafts, etc.). The cottage is within walking distance of both Lake MI and Crystal Lake, which makes for the ultimate MI lake vacation. It is a 30-minute drive to Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, which is filled with hikes with amazing views of Lake Michigan from high on the bluffs. The cottage is rustic (e.g., no drywall in the place), but was very clean. If you are looking for luxurious or modern accommodations, you might want to look elsewhere, but this suited my family just fine. The beds were comfortable. If you are into cooking, it may be helpful to know that the kitchen is quite small with a diet-sized refrigerator and skinny stove. However, there is a grill! This wasn’t mentioned in the listing, so we were delighted to find one. There a plenty of places to sit in the cottage, but the furniture could use a little updating. The house provided plenty of linens, but you will need to have other household supplies upon arrival—soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and trash bags (there were no “starter supplies”). Again, if you are looking for a fantastic location and a clean (but basic) cottage, we highly recommend this place!"

The space
Full disclosure potential guest must be aware that the cabin is more than 50 years old and sits on Frankfort Hwy. so there is a fair amount of traffic during the day. While traffic noise is significantly reduced in the evening during the summer months it can be a bit loud during the day. To reduce this noise we have installed double paned windows and hope the air conditioning and tv will minimize the noise intrusion. For most guest this is tolerable and acceptable for others unfortunately they failed to read this honest disclosure. We regret that not everyone will tolerate the traffic noise but there is nothing more we can reasonably do. Furthermore the door into the cabin is not a standard height so please take care to not bump your head. With that out of the way we warmly invite you to stay and enjoy our private studio cabin.

The space
This spacious loft apartment has plenty of room for one or two, from its kitchen to its bath that has a beautiful corner shower with rain fall shower head and laundry in its own space off bathroom. In the living room you will marvel at 14’ ceiling and beautiful artwork on the walls. This space is shared with breakfast bar and dining table. Upstairs you will find a queen size bed and a spacious area to hang your clothes, also a half bath so you won’t have to navigate the stairs in the middle of the night. The loft bedroom is true to its name as it only has 6’ ceilings but open to the living room below to give it an even more open feel. Open the door to the garage and you will find a clutter free well lit area for you to park your vehicle out of the rain. The deck is 14x20 and has lots of room to enjoy the nature that surrounds you, it’s not uncommon to see Whitetail Deer, Wild Turkeys and maybe a Black Bear or two, although not frequent they do pass through the area at times, along with Bobcats and Coyotes. The drive is shared with neighbor so be mindful of that and use caution when coming up or down the drive.

Bayside Cottage is a very comfortable dog-and-family-friendly cottage right in the downtown Frankfort residential area! It is just a short walk to Lake Michigan, Frankfort Beach, Betsie Lake, and downtown Frankfort with its lovely shops and restaurants. Includes super-fast Wi-Fi (up to 1000 Mbps), 4 Roku tv's with live streaming via Hulu, board games, jetted bathtub, washer / dryer, both front and back porches, fenced-in backyard, gas grill, outdoor dining furniture, and a bonfire ring!

THE SPACE:

The Bayside Cottage is a very comfortable, cozy, bright, and dog-and-family-friendly vacation rental cottage to stay at while enjoying a nice family or group vacation in northern Michigan. The house has been extensively remodeled within the last 10 years. It has a bright, beautiful, and modern design that features a considerable amount of lightly-colored woodwork, a large number of windows that provide exceptional natural lighting and a relaxing, beachy, 'lake-effect' feel to the home, and the home is filled with beautiful original artwork that has been created by the property owner herself.

The cottage has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and is approx. 1750 square feet in size. It can sleep up to 12 adults. In terms of bedrooms and bathrooms, one of the 4 bedrooms is located on the first floor. It has a lovely queen-size bed in it and it has its own private bath. A thick curtain in the entryway to the bedroom can be closed for privacy to shut off the bedroom from the rest of the house. There are three bedrooms upstairs, including a kids room that has 2 very cute matching twin beds in it. The other two upstairs bedrooms each have a comfortable queen-size bed in them. (One of these two bedrooms also has a sofa bed in it, so that 4 adults can sleep in the bedroom.) There are 1.5 bathrooms downstairs (each downstairs bathroom has a shower) and a full bathroom upstairs that features a large and relaxing jetted tub. The common downstairs bathroom also includes a washer and dryer in it.

The kitchen has been recently updated and includes a new stainless steel refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. The kitchen also has a gas range (with 4 gas burners and an oven), which works great for cooking delicious meals! The home also has a coffee pot, crockpot cooker, blender, toaster, and a good supply of pots and pans, dishes, silverware, and cutlery. There is also a gas grill in the backyard for grilling and an outdoor dining area in the backyard with outdoor dining furniture. The backyard is also fully fenced-in (which is great for kids and dogs) and there is a fun and family-friendly bonfire ring with Adirondack chairs in the backyard for cooking delicious s'mores at night!

The cottage also includes free super high-speed Wi-Fi, with speed up to 1000 Mbps. The home has 4 televisions with a very large 55-inch flatscreen television in the living room and 43-inch flatscreen televisions in 3 out of the 4 bedrooms. All of the televisions have Roku with live-streaming from Hulu (which provides the equivalent of cable television), PureFlix, Netflix, and Disney+. A good collection of board games is also provided at the home (in the living room) for lots of family fun!

The house does not have air conditioning, but it does have numerous ceiling fans and pedestal fans. Given these fans, the weather in northern Michigan, and the cottage's proximity to ever-cool Lake Michigan, air conditioning really is generally not needed to keep the cottage cool and comfortable. Central natural gas heating is provided for keeping the house warm and cozy in the winter. Water for the home is provided by Frankfort's public water system and a new water softener is in place to soften Frankfort's fairly hard public water. Sewage is handled by Frankfort public sewage system.

In terms of wheelchair-accessibility, the cottage unfortunately is not very wheelchair-accessible and we would not recommend it for individuals in wheelchairs. For individuals in wheelchairs or other special needs, we recommend one of our other cottages in Frankfort, The Leelanau Cottage, which is quite wheelchair-accessible.

Parking for up to 3 cars is available in the driveway. There is a small garage at the end of the driveway which is available to guests to use for storage of kayaks, canoes, bicycles, motorcycles, skis, snowboards, snowmobiles, or whatever else will fit in the garage.

Guests have access to everything on the property except for the following:

* the large boat garage that is on the alley behind the house (There is a separate small garage at the end of the driveway that is available for guests to use.)
* owner storage closet on the second floor that is locked off

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

1) PARKING: There is parking available in the driveway for up to 3 vehicles. There is also parking available behind the house and along the street in front of the house. Overnight parking is not permitted on the street though from November through April to facilitate snow removal from public streets. To avoid issues with the neighbors, we do limit the maximum number of vehicles at the property to 3 vehicles though. We also ask that guests do not park on the street in front of neighboring properties.

2) PETS: Guests are allowed to bring up to 3 dogs. Pets other than dogs and more than 3 dogs are both strictly prohibited. If bringing 1 to 3 dogs, please make certain that the dogs are included on the reservation so that the pet fee is appropriately applied.

The Jewel House is located right off of beautiful M-22. Walk outside of the neigborhood to Betsie Lake and Betsie Valley Trailway right across the street and a trail that leads straight to Frankfort and Lake Michigan only a mile away!
