The lower-level is a separate living space... 2 bedrooms with queen-sized bed in one bedroom, and a yoga/fitness room. A living room, with large, brand new sectional couch, full bath, wet bar with mid-sized fridge, microwave and coffee pot. ALL rooms have XL smart TV's on walls.

A new, front load, washer and dryer are located in laundry room on main floor.
Cable, Internet, linens and towels provided. All bedrooms have TV's...TVs are smart TVs.. so you have the option to sign into your Netflix or other accounts to watch movies/ shows.

There is a covered porch on the front of the house, with 3 adirondack chairs and a coffee table, for relaxing or bird watching in the woods, surrounding the house. The back deck is open for sunning and we just added a large gazebo on the extended deck… with an outdoor dining area, including a brand new large propane grill and flat top grill. Also on the extended deck, are 6 comfortable chairs with cushions and tables, around an outdoor gas fire pit. Additionally, a regular fire pit is located in the backyard, with PLENTY of firewood provided.

Our retreat is located on 120 acres of beautiful wooded land in Leelanau county. To arrive you drive on a well maintained two track through a lovely woods. When you step out of your car, you truly understand the notion of 'getting away.'

House is a 1200 sq ft timber frame,mortice and tenon frame, with stress skin panels. Custom made cabinets. House is a simple yet elegant design.

The kitchen is nicely equipped, with a nice collection of cook books. Also a nice collection of reading books. A good place for quiet contemplation.

The house comfortably sleeps four guests.

There is good hiking right out the front door!

We are located 9 miles to Empire Beach, and 18 miles from Traverse City.

This region is renowned for its natural beauty, the spectacular sand beaches of Lake Michigan, the vineyards and cherry orchards of Leelanau County. The closest golf course is four miles away. Empire is the gateway to the 70,000 acre national park, Sleeping Bear Dunes. No shortage of skiing, hiking, beach combing, canoeing, fishing and peace and quiet.

We are located only twenty minutes to Traverse City, which offers many fine dining possibilities as well as the newly renovated State Theater, home of the Traverse City Film Festival.

There is a cordwood sauna also available. It is wood fired. You can take advantage of a nice hot sauna by arranging with your host, for an additional rate of $60.

The property is located within Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, close to hiking trails and beaches. Empire beach, only two miles from the property, was named one of the top 21 beaches in the world. The Village of Empire is just a couple of miles up M-22 and includes restaurants, coffee and shopping. Enjoy open views by sitting on the front porch or by the campfire (firewood included) and all that Leelanau County has to offer— dune bluffs, rivers for kayaking, and amazing views of Lake Michigan.

The house features one master bedroom (queen) and an open loft upstairs with three beds (2 twin and 1 full size). There is a full size kitchen (cookware included), living room, and one full bathroom. The laundry room includes a washer and dryer for you to use. We provide towels but do not provide bed linens nor pillows— please bring bed linens and/or blankets. Vacation at the beach in this two bedroom, two bathroom 1900 sq. ft. house / cottage that partially overlooks Lake Michigan and South Bar Lake. Walk the tree lined sidewalk 600 ft to the Lake Michigan shore and play on the sand beach. Lake Michigan water level fluctuates every year. Visit Empire Michigan webcam for current lake conditions. There is extensive playground equipment at the beach. The Village of Empire which is seven miles south of Glen Arbor is home to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park Visitor Center. The Sleeping Bear Heritage Bike Trail winds through the woods and is paved from Empire to the 'Dune Climb' and continues into Glen Arbor. The trail has been extended north along M-22 to Bohemian Road.

Stonegable is a modern farmhouse nestled among pines and 150 acres of walking trails located just outside of Empire Village (2 miles) right in the middle of Leelanau farm country. You'll find yourself surrounded by cherry and apple orchards, hops farms and fields of sweet smelling hay. Fresh eggs can be purchased just down the driveway.
Stonegable has a new generator (2023) for storms. Runs everything but stove and microwave ( grill on site) . So you will have water, lights, hot water heater for showers, refrigerator. and heat in the event of a storm that results in a loss of power. Very few rental properties in Empire or northern Michigan have a generator back up plan which can save a vacation.

The home sports a gallery of original oil paintings of the property by a local artist which are all available for purchase. It’s a perfect property for a couples retreat , artists, writers, photographers,conservationists, bird watchers, nature lovers,and astronomers.

A Northern Getaway is a new house, decorated in a fresh decor! This house is well equipped and features a full kitchen and a dining table that seats four and a relaxing living room. An entry hall, half bath and laundry facilities round out the first floor level. Upstairs are two bedrooms with attached bathrooms each. The house is best suited for 4 adults or 2 adults with 2 children 15 or older as the house has no extra space to play or watch TV.

Empire offers a great Lake Michigan beach with picnic tables and fire pits and another beach on South Bar Lake. The beach is in walking distance (about a mile+) and the park headquarters are also nearby. The house has a deck with patio seating and a view into the nearby meadow.
Empire is in the center of it all- visit wineries, go kayaking, hiking or biking, enjoy the many beaches, go shopping in the many quaint villages nearby or take road trips through Leelanau County, Old Mission Peninsula or south of Empire (Frankfort, Point Betsie).
The house is accessed by stairs from the parking spot, there is a staircase in the house as well. Trailers of any kind can not be accommodated at the property.

We cooked our own food mostly and everything we needed was provided and was of very good quality down to the silverware. The bed was so comfortable. Location was great — we made day trips for hiking, relaxing on the beaches and shopping. We put our beach chairs on our backs and walked the short couple blocks to enjoy two magnificent sunsets. - "This rental was everything my family could have wanted! Close to Glen Arbor, the playground, the beach - we could walk to it all. The property was very clean, plenty of space to spread out and relax either indoors or outdoors. Great backyard space that backs up to the woods - we saw deer, turkey and other animals during our stay. The Space:
The Place - This home is 2,700 square feet.
The newly renovated main living area has loads of natural light and a wood burning fireplace, large viewing windows, and a furniture set-up that makes for great socializing and relaxing chill time. The dining area is positioned next to a large window as is the height adjustable work station. The large smart TV makes for great movie viewing.

The main bedroom has a sunrise facing slider and a new luxury king bed. The closet has vintage wallpaper (that is a sure-fire crowd pleaser). The second bedroom has a new luxury queen bed.

2 Full bathrooms on the main level. One with shower and tub, one with walk-in shower.

On the lower level, there is a half bath and two trundle beds. Also on the lower level is a ping pong table and a TV area for gaming, and a game table for 4.
There is a garage available for storing your bike, kayak, paddleboard or any other toys you bring along. There is also paved parking for a boat trailer with easy access.

The deck is set up for viewing the scenery along with outdoor dining for six. An elevated outdoor firepit gives the feeling of being on top of the world. An additional patio offers another chilling and grilling spot. We have a propane grill available for you to use!

Please note this home does not have direct lake access, but it is just steps away from a DNR boat ramp.

Welcome to northern Michigan, where our wintertime weather can swing from glorious to ferocious in a flash. Each of our properties has snow removal service scheduled to plow with each snowfall amounting to at least 3 inches of snow. If the vehicle you bring is not 4-Wheel or All-Wheel Drive, please be aware of the potential risks accessing the property when snow is present.
This home's driveway is very steep. So please take this into consideration.

The Neighborhood:
Explore Alligator Hill right out the back door, or within a five minute drive, you can climb the famous Dune Climb, visit Glen Haven beach, or hike/bike the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail.
Rent a boat at The Narrows marina on Big Glen or launch your own at the public launch on Little Glen Lake - both are a short walk away.
Glen Arbor and Lake Michigan are 2.5 miles down the road. This property is unique in that is provides a close to nature vibe that flows from a park like setting and a large elevated lot with expansive views of the surrounding area. Its close to everything except your neighbor.

Please Note: All guests staying at this property must be 25 or older unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. This will be verified after booking confirmation.

A damage waiver fee is required by Golden Swan for each stay. For this property, the fee is $69 and provides our guests with accidental damage coverage up to $600. If the amount of damage exceeds this, or if the damage is found to have occurred with malicious intent, Golden Swan retains the right to seek damages beyond that amount.

There is a non-refundable credit card processing fee applied to all reservations.

If the reservation is 14 days or longer there will be a required mid-stay clean. This is also available upon request for a shorter length of stay.

Dogs are allowed with an additional fee, with a maximum of 2 dogs. Please be advised that it is absolutely imperative for all renters to keep their dogs on a leash at all times. The cottage is located only 1 mile from Sleeping Bear Dunes, a 5-7 minute drive to both Glen Arbor and Empire, and about 30 minutes from Traverse City.

In warm months, we offer an on-site pontoon boat rental! Contact BVR with any questions or interest!
For insurance and liability reasons, guests are strictly not permitted to tie any watercraft to the dock under any circumstances.

The Sleeping Bear B&B is ideally nestled between the dunes and the city. It has been a full-service B&B for over twenty years. New ownership in 2020 with updated & stylish rooms - and now a glamping/hipcamp area!

Though not included in the glamping fee you have the option to begin each day with a sumptuously cooked earth-friendly breakfast. The fee for glampers is $15 a person.

And we want to be dog friendly but you must contact us before booking so we can discuss your dog and the rules.

The space
Private, private, private....you will be our only glamping guest during the length of your stay. So, you will have exclusive use of the outdoor camping space. Your safari tent is a 12' x 14'. It has a Queen size bed, fridge, space heater, fan, headlamps, and all the comforts we can think of. You will also have access to a full private bath anytime day or night. There are two private entrances to the camping area and it is fully fenced in. So if you want to bring your dog you are welcome to (but you must contact us before booking to discuss).

Furthermore, there are lots of enjoyable outdoor spaces just outside the door to your hip camp: hammocks, firepit, grill, relaxing in the chill barn, garden, sit and listen to the birds, frogs in the pond, etc.

You are also welcome to borrow a cooler backpack or picnic lunch set up if you are hitting the trails or beach.

Furthermore, please enjoy the outdoor spaces: relaxing and dining areas, gardens, hummingbirds, pond, hammocks, fire pit, grill, etc. during your stay.

The Little Perch is a charming and exclusive upper level guest house, conveniently holding up to 4 guests!

The space
Please note, we live with our family in the home adjacent to the guest house. We strive to give our guests as much privacy as possible, but we want our guests to know that we will be on & around the property during your entire stay.

The guest house is perched on an upper level; attached yet divided from our primary home. There's a set of 16 stairs to climb to reach the living space. It is completely separate from the main house: parking, outdoor eating & play area, entryway, mudroom, laundry and living/sleeping space are all private spaces for guest use & access.

As you enter the driveway, you'll cross a beautiful stone bridge adorned with nighttime lighting. The driveway then splits into two; the main house on the east (left) side and the guest area towards the west (right) side.

There's spacious parking (up to 2 vehicles) and a boardwalk which leads you directly to your private & secure entryway where you'll find a touchscreen keypad.

Because of our secluded setting, you are able to safely store all of your bikes, kayaks, paddle boards and other personal equipment you may have brought along!

We are located 1.5 miles south of Big Glen.

Currently, there is a home workshop & pottery studio below the guest house. At times we might be in this space, or in the attached storage building.

NO smoking/vaping allowed.

There is not a TV.

You must be willing to wash your own dishes during your stay.

Enjoy Empire & Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore from our comfy cottage on South Bar Lake. Take a 10-minute stroll to the shops in the village or go another 5 minutes to Lake Michigan Beach. Bike the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail right out the front door. Paddle or cool off in the calm waters of South Bar. Take in the sunset nestled in the cedars by the lake or hang out at the fire pit on our 3 acre lot. Close to wineries/breweries; 25 miles to Traverse City or Crystal Mountain.

The space
The cottage is vintage 1950's; cute, very clean, tidy, but simple. Second bathroom is very small. Utility room has an extra day bed.
The back yard is huge and nice area to relax. Feel free to move the picnic table to get better shade if needed or use the pop up tent in the garage for cover if needed. Very pleasant for outside meals. Deer often stroll through the red pines in the back.

Guest access
Please access S. Bar Lake by going through the wooded area and not the neighbors lawn. It is a two minute walk from the cottage.
Please don't access the green outbuilding as it needs a lot of work.

Other things to note
Two bikes, two stand up paddle boards, and three kayaks available to enjoy.
Biking on the Heritage Trail is terrific, scenic and safe.
S. Bar Lake is great for paddling, kayaking and fishing. The water is very clean, but shallow and has areas with lots of weeds. There is a relative weed free area in front of the dock for a little swimming. Better swimming can be found at N. Bar Lake and Empire Beach, both a short drive or bike.

Little Glen Cottage is a charming 3 bed, 2 bath cottage right on Glen Lake. It's less than a 10 minute drive to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (National Park) and the town of Glen Arbor. Swim in the lake, take a walk on the nearby hiking trails, or explore the acclaimed boutiques and restaurants of the town. Large Hot Tub with Bluetooth open year-round, Fire Pit; all the UpNorth things. We also manage Dune View Cottage next door. Please inquire about renting both!

Wintertime Guests: Welcome to northern Michigan, where our wintertime weather can swing from glorious to ferocious in a flash. Each of our properties has snow removal service scheduled to plow with each snowfall amounting to at least 3 inches of snow. If the vehicle you bring is not 4-Wheel or All-Wheel Drive, please be aware of the potential risks accessing the property when snow is present.

Please Note: All guests staying at this property must be 25 or older unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. This will be verified after booking confirmation.

A damage waiver fee is required by Golden Swan for each stay. For this property, the fee is $79 and provides our guests with accidental damage coverage up to $1000. If the amount of damage exceeds this, or if the damage is found to have occurred with malicious intent, Golden Swan retains the right to seek damages beyond that amount.

High chair and pack n play available upon request for an additional fee.

Dogs are allowed with an additional fee, with a maximum of 2 dogs. Please be advised that it is absolutely imperative for all renters to keep their dogs on a leash at all times. While we truly appreciate and value pets, ensuring that our furry friends are leashed or properly secured is of utmost importance to us. Please take your pup with you or kennel them when you leave the home. We cannot have lonely barking dogs left at our property. Please be considerate and clean up after your pet.

There is a non-refundable credit card processing fee applied to all reservations.

If the reservation is 14 days or longer there will be a required mid-stay clean. This is also available upon request for a shorter length of stay.

DOCK: The dock is available for use with guests' rental boats for 15 minute loading and unloading passengers, and a mooring ball just beyond it is available for mooring between boat rides. Winds and waves pick up super-quick and can cause damage to boats and docks. There are no protective dock bumpers to prevent potential boat-docking issues.

The Sleeping Bear B&B is ideally nestled between the dunes and the city. It has been a full-service B&B for over twenty years. New ownership in 2020 with newly renovated & stylish rooms. Each has a comfortable queen bed, in-room AC & heat, Wi-Fi, TV/DVD (library of movies), and eco-conscious amenities. Every day begins with a sumptuously cooked earth-friendly breakfast at a time of your choosing. Depending on weather have breakfast inside, outside, or in the "chill" barn.

This craftsman style rental home is located on Front St. in Empire within walking distance of the famous Empire Beach. Features of this home are sleeping for 6, remodeled full kitchen, AC, charcoal grill, laundry, Wi-Fi, cable, and flat screen TV with DVD. Carport as well as street parking, Clean, Comfortable, & Cozy with all the amenities of home. This is a non-smoking, non-vaping, non-marijuana and no pets home. All linens provided except beach towels. I don't know why Airbnb has us listed as county side as we are not. We are in the middle of the National Park and in the middle of Empire.

After the storm of 2015 we installed a whole house generator. In case of a power outage it will automatically start up.
During the months of July and August booking is for one week minimum stay. Other months there is a minimum of 3 nights or more.

House is a 1200 sq ft timber frame,mortice and tenon frame, with stress skin panels. Custom made cabinets. House is a simple yet elegant design.

The kitchen is nicely equipped, with a nice collection of cook books. Also a nice collection of reading books. A good place for quiet contemplation.

We are located 9 miles to Empire Beach, and 18 miles from Traverse City.

This region is renowned for its natural beauty, the spectacular sand beaches of Lake Michigan, the vineyards and cherry orchards of Leelanau County. The closest golf course is four miles away. Empire is the gateway to the 70,000 acre national park, Sleeping Bear Dunes. No shortage of skiing, hiking, beach combing, canoeing, fishing and peace and quiet.

We are located only twenty minutes to Traverse City, which offers many fine dining possibilities as well as the newly renovated State Theater, home of the Traverse City Film Festival.

This rustic cabin feels like a cozy retreat back in time, but with modern amenities to add comfort, including fast wi-fi, new beds, and a large TV. The first floor has a kitchen facing a screened-in porch and deck, a living room/dining area, a half bath, and a den with a pull out twin bed. The upstairs has a full bath, two bedrooms with queen beds, and a bonus area with a daybed that pulls out into two twin beds. Enjoy the view of Little Glen Lake through the trees from your porch. (There is no direct water access, only water views.). Note the fireplace is a gas insert and there is no cable, just the option to log into your streaming services through a FireStick.

This cabin is located near Glen Lake but it is the "second row" of cottages back from the lake. There is a public park 1 mile down the road.

Please also note that this is an older cabin - lots of charm, but not much soundproofing, and the stairs and doorways are small and narrow. It might not be the best option for people with difficult going up and down stairs.
