Welcome to Country Club Cabin, located on Lake Wausau! Perfect location for both winter and summer fun! In winter, snowshoe or snowmobile right from the backyard! In summer, boat & kayak around the lake! 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath home located on Lake Wausau in Schofield, just minutes from downtown Wausau and Granite Peak Ski Hill. Outdoor hot tub!

This home can accommodate up to 7 people, so it's perfect for a family, or group of friends. Two bedrooms plus loft upstairs can sleep a total of 7 people - two queen bedrooms, plus a loft with a twin/full bunk bed.

Enjoy the serenity of the towering pines and being literally feet from the waters edge. 2-car garage, plus there is room for ~4 additional cars in the driveway. The loft is equipped with a 42" TV set-up for gaming to keep kiddos (or kids at heart) entertained with an Xbox One and Playstation 4. The main living room has a 55" Smart TV. Board games, puzzles, video games and lending library all included!

Heading outside, there is a large deck off the main level overlooking the lake canal - perfect for sipping coffee in the mornings. The large deck has a retractable awning and patio set and is feet from the water. Cast a line in the water and fish while sitting on the patio! Go down two stairs and you'll find a large brick patio and fireplace just feet from the lakeshore with a hot tub and charcoal grill!

Have a boat? No worries, tie up to a private dock! Great for fishing too! Included with rental is use of two kayaks and a canoe to go explore the lake.

Man made pond about a 1/2 acres with fish and sandy beach for swimming. A swing and docks for going into the water. Paddle boad, kayaks and floating mats for swimming in the pond.
A 30x24 Pravillion with picnic tables, large griddle, 3 burner propane for cooking, counter tops and refridgerator.
2 - 14 x 20 cabins with 2 lofts each and a queen bed on the main floor, each cabin can sleep 6 comfortably. Cabins have a TV with wifi and countertop/ cupboards and a corner table.
Bathhouse 12 x 12 with running water & a kitchen sink in one half and a compostable toliet with stand up shower. Along side the Bathhouse is a 3 person hottub.
We also have a firepit outside the pravillion and a sand volleyball court along with other games like carpetball & cornhole.
We are located on a dead end road where renters can take a quiet walk 1/2 mile to the wood like and follow atv trails for about a mile walk or walk along the farm fields.
Just down the road are also small farm animals like mini donkeys, goats and sheep along with beef cows to look and possible pet.

The shared full bathroom with a shower is just 50 yards away in the barn.

Outside your cabin you can enjoy the pavilion & picnic area with an outside kitchen. – A perfect spot for outdoor dining and gathering. Use the gas grill or cook over an open fire at one of our fire pits.

when pulling up to the property please access through the front door. You will find a pin pad and that is how you get in.

Other things to note
Mossy Back Lodge is also in a great location where you will find many nearby attractions. So, if you are looking a place to stay after a long day of hitting the ski slopes or cruising the Snowmobile trails this a perfect place to bunk up for the night. Also, within walking distance just down the road you will find the embarrass river which is a great trout fishing stream but feel free to load up the Snowmobiles, ATVs, Boats, Kayaks, Bikes, ect. as there are a good number of water attractions and trails around. Also, this Lodge is located very close to a nearby casino as well.

***Summer 2025 From May- September the water levels of the lake will be 6"-8" lower than what we are accustomed to on Lake DuBay. Work is being completed on the dam. The water is still useable but may be more challenging for certain boats to access the bay and other portions of the lake.
***Pontoon is kept at a nearby boat slip with nice dock access onto the boat. If you rent it for more than one day the boat will need to be docked at the slip each night.
*It cannot be brought into the bay that the house is on due to the low water
levels and a shallow spot under the bridge leading to the house.

*Disclaimer, we are on a nice quiet bay with access the larger body of water, but you'll need to go under a narrower and shallower bridge by Lion's Park. There are launches on the open water side, also, for anyone that prefers not to navigate the bridge. This should not be an issue for most fishing boats, pontoons, or boats that don't sit deep in the water. Boats do travel under this bridge daily. Also, this is part of a river chain and water levels fluctuate.

Pontoon rental: $325/day 1-2 days, $300/day 3-5 days, $250/day 6 days, 1 week (7 days) $1500 total. Pontoon is onsite and is rated for 12 passengers. ***2025 pontoon rental will be based on water levels and may not always be available. Free on-site kayaks, will always be available and usable.
