A wooden walkway takes you to the covered porch at the main entrance where you'll find a bench where you can relax and take in the views.

The main floor features a living room with a convertible sofa that sleeps 2. There is a wall mounted 42-inch flat screen TV with cable, a DVD player, and a stereo capable of playing CDs, cassettes, vinyl records, and MP3s. There is also free WiFi for all guests.

For those looking for a rustic retreat from screens and technology, there is a variety of books, board games, playing cards.

The dining area will seat at least 6. There is also a built-in wall desk perfect for your laptop.

The kitchen is fully equipped with an extra-large refrigerator/freezer/ice maker, new gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, and separate wine refrigerator. In the kitchen you'll also find stainless steel cookware and a vast array of cooking utensils to help you prepare everything from a pot of chili to a gourmet meal. There is a complete set of dishes, flatware, and glassware for 8.

Just off the kitchen is a breakfast nook with a built-in table with seating for 2-3 people.

There is a very spacious bathroom located on the main floor complete with a large, well-lit vanity and full size tub/shower. The bathroom is fully stocked with plenty of towels and basic toiletries (in case you forget your toothbrush or shampoo at home).

Located off the bathroom is a laundry room with a full-size washer/dryer with plenty of laundry supplies. There's also ample storage for everything from suitcases to skis, helmets, snowmobile suits, etc.

Upstairs you will find the master bedroom with a queen size bed, dresser, nightstands, and a flat screen TV. A sliding barn door provides privacy and rustic charm.

Across from the master bedroom, you'll find the second bedroom that can accommodate up to 4 guests. There are three twin beds. Two of the twin beds feature under-the-bed drawers for extra storage. The third bed features a pull-out trundle bed for an additional guest. The second bedroom also features 2 nightstands/dressers, a ceiling fan, and a flatscreen TV.

Both bedrooms come complete with comfy new mattresses and bedding for a restful night's sleep.

If you visit during the summer months, you'll be cool and comfortable in case you encounter any rare U.P. heatwaves. There are wall unit air conditioners upstairs and downstairs, as well as ceiling fans throughout.

Take in the tranquil scenery outside the sliding glass which opens to a stone paver patio overlooking the large yard. There is a gas grill along with a fire pit and all the firewood you need for those cool evenings.

About the Bessemer/Ironwood Area:
You will be located in the center of ski country. The shuttle is available in the winter to take you the half mile to Big Powderhorn Mountain Resort. You're also a short distance from Blackjack Mountian and Indianhead Mountian Ski Resorts.

Snowmobilers and ATVers are less than 2 miles from Trail #2, which will take you east further into Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula, or west into the Northwoods of Wisconsin.

You are less than 20 minutes from Little Girls Point and Black River Harbor, two picturesque areas of Lake Superior. Little Girls Point has a beautiful sandy beach and campground

You're located only 6 miles from Copper Peak Ski Flying Hill. There are only six in the northern hemisphere and this is the only one in the United States. It is in the process of being restored and will be hosting international events within the next few years in addition to be used as a training facility for Olympic caliber athletes. Now it hosts the Red Bull 400, a grueling uphill foot race that brings international competitors to the area the second Saturday in May. The Saturday after Labor Day it hosts the Copper Peak Trails Mountain Bike Race that uses the terrain of Copper Peak to provide a challenging course for even the most experienced rider.

Gogebic county offers over 90 waterfalls with trails ranging from beginner/handicap accessible to "experienced hiker." You are also located less than an hour from the entrance to the Porcupine Mountains (Porkies), and less that two hours from the Bayfield/Apostle Islands area. There are three casinos are less than an hour away (Bad River Casino, Northern Casino, and Lake of the Torches Casino).

Your location puts you within 5 minutes of the local hospital, Walmart, grocery store, and gas stations, but no where near the hustle and bustle of highways and crowds.

A short walk down the hill will bring you to the Black River Valley Crossing and a good fishing spot.

As a bonus you are about 100 yards away from the highly-rated Black River Valley Pub. A local eatery since 1978 open 4 evenings a week featuring one of the best fish frys in the area with the largest variety of fish entrees within 40 miles, along with prime rib on Saturday nights. During the winter ski season there is usually live entertainment on Fridays and/or Saturdays in the evening.

Interior cabin amenities include: the main floor is wheelchair accessible, has a covered porch with spacious entryway, full bath with tile shower, petite yet well equipped kitchen and wet bar as well as a dining and living area. There are two queen beds, one on the main floor and one up in the loft, sleeping a total of 4 people. Upstairs, opposite the sleeping area, you’ll find a desk for creatives and a cozy reading nook. We have internet service for you to work remotely, but also encourage you to disconnect and take time to enjoy a hobby of yours or explore the outdoors! Speaking of outdoor space: Please be respectful our occasional animal visitors, including deer, hummingbirds, river beavers, and more! We have a firepit with chairs as well as a trail down to the river. The year round vacation home is nestled on 3.5 acres on the pristine shoreline of Lake Superior with 1000 feet of private lake front. 2100 sq ft comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests. 2 bedrooms are on the main floor with a bath in between. one bedroom has a full size bed and access to back deck overlooking the lake. The other bedroom has a full and a queen size bed. The loft has the largest bedroom with a king bed, and a bathroom with a claw-foot tub.
The log home has central heat and air air conditioning. Firewood is provided for the soapstone wood burning fireplace in the great room.
The cabin has a remote, secluded location. For security purposes it is under outdoor video surveillance.

Detroit Zen Center monks & students use this hermitage for retreats half the year, and rent to guests the other half. Our hermitage has a tri-level floor plan, and sits 100 yards from Lake Superior, with a 100 yard circular walking path down to 360' of her shoreline (pebbles & rocks). Set on 8 rolling acres of wooded land, 2 woodstoves we have a traditional Finnish wood-fired Sauna just behind the main cabin. The property sits 1/4 mile from the entrance to Porcupine Mountain Wilderness State Park.

Entering off the main road, down a 1/4 mile wooded drive, to park in front of the large tongue-and-groove hand-milled home, with a friendly front porch with a stone chimney, chairs & lots of wood! Enter into a light-filled, spacious, open concept main living area - living - dining room - kitchen. It includes a woodstove, wood floors, stone chimney, smart tv, surrounded by huge windows & a wall of sliding glass doors going out to a deck that looks down to the lake & the walking paths. The dining table seats 8. At the back of the main floor is a master bedroom with its own stone chimney & woodstove, as well as a large picture window overlooking the land. Just outside the master bedroom is a full, marble tiled bathroom.

Upstairs is a loft bedroom, with a private bedroom with its own large deck adjacent. The loft has a full bed with an antique desk & walk in closet. The adjacent fully enclosed bedroom has a king sized and a full sized bed, and a large deck.

Downstairs is a lower level walkout -- a standalone space with a sitting room, bedroom, and full bathroom, as well as a separate entrance door that leads to a deck, the walking trails & lake.

The heating system is very efficient & radiant (no furnace or forced air noise/dust), and we are very well insulated -- the 2 woodstoves add charm & coziness in winter. In summer, the lake keeps us cool, but we do have AC here as well.

Our road leads to the Lake of the Clouds, and is within minutes of endless hiking, cross country trails, waterfalls, & 2 miles from the Porcupine Mountain Downhill Ski Resort. Our hermitage is set 1/4 mile down a driveway, away from the main road, and is very quiet, and very private. Our land is filled with old-growth hemlock, oak, maple, cedar & pine. Deer & turkey & other wildlife are abundant. We enjoy exploring all the area has to offer, and it truly is like heaven on earth here.

We have high speed wifi, and use it for our phone service (cell service is spotty up here). We have a smart tv with Roku, and you can use netflix, hbo, fox sports, tcm, and much more. Our shoreline is lovely and rocky -- 1/4 west is an endless sandy beach as well. The historic mining town of Ontonagon is 12 miles east (15 minutes), where you can find an IGA grocery store, hospital, & full amenities. We are just outside Ontonagon in Silver City, where there is an Americinn Hotel 1 mile away, with a full bar & menu, or try Konteka -- a bowling alley & full restaurant 6 miles away in White Pine.

- "We wanted a place near Lake Superior, and boy did this place fit that desire. You can see the lake down through a short path. At the end of the path, you'll find a firepit, kayaks, and plenty of seating. The house was clean, and the kitchen was stocked well for cooking utensils. It was incredibly quiet at the house, mostly birds and the waves. The host was extremely communicative and wanted to ensure we had everything we needed. We even used the swinging grill over the firepit on the side of the house. It's perhaps a 15 minute drive from Lake of the Clouds (you could even bike up there if you wanted), and about 15 minutes from Ontonagon if you need a proper grocer. Caveats for guests would be to make sure you have bug spray, and maybe some warmer clothes for cool evenings to be outside. You can swim from the shore, but you may want water socks to walk on the rocks below the water line as they're a bit slippery until you can get to a good depth. There are sand beaches in either direction nearby. As for the accuracy of the listing, I may not have properly understood the layout of the BRs. Nothing wrong for our party, just wasn't what I'd envisioned after reading the description. I think everyone in our party would be happy to go back. Thanks again!"

- "This property is fantastic for a large group, and has much more to offer than what is in the listing. We vacationed with our extended family, with 20 people. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. We were worried about the bathroom situation, but there are more than listed. There are 2 full baths with showers, one half bath, and 2 commercial bathrooms with two stalls in each, for a total of 7 toilets. There are many more couches than can be seen in the photos. There are 3 large recliner sofas in the front of the living space plus 3 more couches and a large chair toward the back of the space. There are a few couches in the basement as well. The deck has a table and chairs and a large outside sectional. There are 4 large benches around the fire pit. All bedrooms are in the basement with the exception of the two beds in the loft. This property used to be used commercially as a bar and restaurant, so there is plenty of room for a large group to spread out. The kids had a blast playing in the basement while the adults enjoyed the bar area on the main level. The kitchen is well stocked, we cooked most of our meals there. The host was quick to respond to questions. The location was very private, but also within a couple miles of town and groceries. Lake Superior beaches are a 15-20 min drive away with many neat waterfalls and parks on the way. We really enjoyed this property!"

Situated right at the base of Big Powderhorn Mountain, our cabin is just steps away from the ski lifts and conveniently located right next to Caribou Lodge. We are also located close to all the recreational activities that the beautiful Upper Peninsula has to offer including snowmobile and ATV/ORV trails, Black River Harbor, Copper Peak and the shores of Lake Superior. The Porcupine Mountains and Bond Falls are also nearby. The open kitchen, dining area & living room are on the main level as well as a bedroom & full bath. A nice size loft overlooks the living room offering a great spot for the kids. On the lower level are 2 good size bedrooms and a full bath. Great location - great property and the perfect starting point to your Northwoods vacation. Prefer no pets :).

Here at Snowy River guests will have all the amenities of a hotel room with all the comforts of home . Snowy River is a cozy/cute lodge with fun & tasteful decor throughout . Here you will find 2 bedrooms , 1 full bathroom and a kitchenette.
The main bedroom has been converted into a common area/living room with a sleeper sofa (comfortably sleeps 2 adults), dining table for 4, smart TV, electric fireplace , alarm clock, USB ports and a view of the ski hill @ Big Powderhorn Mountain Resort .
The 2nd bedroom houses a queen size bed and 1 futon sofa, smart TV , electric fireplace, alarm clock and USB ports.
The full bathroom has a tub / shower, hair dryer, 1 set of basic bathroom amenities and linens .
The kitchenette has k-cup coffee maker, microwave and fridge / freezer. You will also find some coffee supplies, bottled water, a few snacks and some games for your indoor entertainment .
We are within walking distance to Big Powderhorn Ski Resort and a couple of restaurants . Also very close to many others such as Indian Head, Black Jack, ABR trails, Mt Zion, Copper Peak, Lake Superior, Black River Harbor, snow mobile trails, hiking, biking trails , waterfalls and sooooo much more .
Approximately a 7 min drive to Walmart and a 10 to 15 min drive to downtown Ironwood .

True ski in/ski out lodging. Our building is right on the "Just Cuz" trail at Black River Basin Ski Resort. Ski right out the back doors. After a long day on the slopes enjoy some relaxation in the shared rec room which includes a hot tub, sauna, card table and air hockey table.
Unit #5 is 3 bedrooms with 3 queen beds, two sets of bunk beds(twin over full) and a futon. If you have a larger group and need some additional space, see site #499048 for our 2 bedroom unit #4

Welcome to our "Pondominium"! Cozy & very private but close to amenities such as restaurants, grocery stores, cross country, downhill & snowmobile trails. Includes a private entrance/driveway/parking lot, wood fired sauna, shower, microwave, hotplate, k-cup coffee machine, toaster oven, campfire with tripod grill, sleeping loft + sleeping sofa in common area. We have a 1/2 mile snow shoe loop on property. Located 1 mile off U.S. 2.

PLEASE NOTE: we have a steep ladder to sleeping loft & an outhouse (no indoor bathroom).

Everyone that sees or stays at our Pondominium loves it! It's very cozy, clean and private, yet close to everything.

Neighborhood overview
Rural setting but only one mile to Burger King, Subway, Breakwater restaurant, Don & GG's pub/restaurant, Super One grocery, Walmart, & Dunham's Sports. The Iron Belle biking/walking trail that links Ramsay, Bessemer, Ironwood & Hurley WI is one mile away. Our property is lush and green in the summer, has beautiful autumn colors on the hills behind the pond in the fall and loads of snow in the winter. Other things to note No soap products. Also NO DIVING in the pond please, no snowmobiles, no ATV's.

Getting around: Driving, walking, bicycling plus Twin City Cab is available in Ironwood.

Other things to note: The ladder to the sleeping loft is steep so it may not be suitable for young children or older adults. We have no indoor toilet. We do have a clean, pleasant smelling outhouse with electricity & artwork 50' from the cabin. We have hot water, a kitchen sink, and a shower in the sauna but are limited by a 5 gallon electric hot water heater. No soap products or diving in the pond please. A reasonable amount of sauna and campfire wood will be provided.

There are 8 beautiful cabins that have access to the men’s and women’s restrooms and showers, conveniently located just steps away from the front door; also accessible is the Lodge half bathroom. The “Captains Quarters” , which is the 9th rental option, is a private apartment above the main lodge that has its own full bathroom with shower, as well as a full kitchen.

This cabin does not have a bathroom inside of the cabin; the bathrooms are beautiful, bathrooms with beautiful private showers located in the center of the village.

No pets are allowed (no exceptions). Our daughter is extremely allergic to animals.
Each of our cabins is furnished with microwaves, coffee makers, and mini fridges. In addition, our Guests will have access to the main Lodge kitchen, dining, and livingroom area. There are 6 private locking shower rooms and 5 locking toilet rooms that are centrally located. There is ample parking, up to 8 vehicles or more.
Four ski resorts nearby (3-8 miles) Walmart store, SuperOne, Kwik Trip Gas station in town few restaurants nearby as well. Many waterfalls and trails for the winter or summer.

The space
This location is any outdoor enthusiast's dream, with an adorable cabin to unwind and watch deer pass by in after a day taking in nature during any season. A perfect place to relax and unwind after hiking, skiing, snowshoeing or taking advantage of all the area has to offer. **coming early October 2024: Finnish sauna for shared guest use!**

The Shell cabin is ideal for two and can accommodate four guests when using the pull out couch in the living room. Rockhound Hideaway is situated on the edge of the Ottawa National Forest with access to the Black River (and a waterfall!) from the property. There are several waterfalls within walking or snowshoeing distance by following national scenic trail, the North Country Trail. Lake Superior and Black River Harbor beach are one mile up the road, truly a local's gem. There are two cabins with full time residents that use the driveway to access their homes so this is not a completely secluded location, but your back deck, bonfire ring and outdoor grilling space all are the opposite direction of the neighboring homes with a view into the woods. Rockhound Hideaway also offers two other lodging units- a glamping bell tent that can accommodate 2 guests and a redesigned Shasta trailer. All of the spaces offered for this cabin are private for your group, but you may encounter other guests on your way down to the waterfall on the back of the property or at the parking area. If you are looking to accommodate a larger group, I do offer discounted rates for those looking to book the entire property. Please message for entire property prices.

There is a bonfire pit for private use by Shell cabin guests that you can use any season, however if there is a fire ban unfortunately it is off limits. In the winter you will need to shovel it out if you want to use it. *fire pit may not be used during fire bans. XC ski trails and downhill resorts are all nearby.
(Important note: This cabin operates on a well so be mindful of water use. If 4 guests are staying, you may want to space out showers. There is enough parking for you for 2 vehicles next to your cabin. If you plan on bringing a trailer or need extra parking for any reason, I may be able to accommodate but advance notice must be given to me so I can make proper arrangements.

You are welcome to explore the property, use the bonfire pit (keep fires reasonable and safe and check if there is a burn ban) and there is a charcoal grill for your use, BYO Charcoal and I provide 1 bundle of firewood under the blue tarp. You can purchase additional firewood from me, but I also encourage guests to take advantage of my favorite activity- beach bonfires under the stars on the lake. There is no shortage of driftwood for beach bonfires.

Please be respectful of the wildlife, nature and the neighbors. ** bonfire pit not accessible in the winter unless you want to dig it out but I do have 2 sets of snowshoes in your cabin for your use! There is an almost completed outdoor shared space- The Kitchigami Commons, for all guests to use a short walk away from the cabin. The shared space has a outdoor fireplace, playing cards, yard games and two tubes for guests to take out and enjoy on the lake. Please help yourself to the water tubes, just return them to Kitchigami Commons when you are done. (Kitchigami Commons is the yellow concrete structure visible from your back deck... it is also where we cook down our sap and turn it into maple syrup during mapling season!)

Sauna Hours & Rules:

Each party is allotted 90 minutes for private sauna use per day. 30 minutes to start the fire and heat the sauna, 1 hour maximum in the sauna for safety (this includes your time to dress and exit the sauna). Please be out of the sauna space at the end of your reservation to be respectful of guests arriving for the next reservation.

Consult your physician or do not use the sauna if you are pregnant or have any health condition that could be problematic with high heat.

No alcohol permitted in the sauna. No using the sauna when intoxicated. If you feel dizzy or light-headed, get out immediately.

Drink plenty of water before, during and after the sauna.

ALL surfaces in the sauna will be hot to the touch! Pour water on the benches before sitting down to reduce surface heat. All parts of the wood stove will be EXTREMELY HOT to the touch. Do not touch any part of the wood stove when it is hot. Use the welding gloves provided to open the stove door.

There is paper, kindling, and some firewood inside the changing room. More wood is stacked outside the changing room door under the black plastic. Please keep cover on wood to help keep it dry.

A blue barrel with water will either be outside the sauna entrance or in the changing room, depending on the outside temperature. This water is for your bathing use in the sauna. There are a couple smaller buckets in the sauna you can fill from the blue barrel.

To start the fire, open the drawer under the stove door a few inches before building the fire in the main compartment. That drawer helps allow more air into the fire box. Once the fire is going well, close the drawer most or all of the way. Do not set anything on top of the stove. From my experience, it takes 30 minutes to get the sauna hot. Get the fire going and fill with wood, check it again in 15 minutes to add more wood, then return 15 minutes later to take a sauna, it will be plenty warm to enjoy.

Make sure the door to the sauna room is closed or it will not heat as efficiently.

There is a drain in the sauna under the stove, but with heavy water use, it can pool on the floor. If you notice pooling when you are done, please use the floor squeegee provided to help push it towards the drain.

When you are done using the sauna, please sweep excess water towards the drain, push the stove drawer all the way in, close all doors, and turn out the light on your way out.

Sauna location:
The Sauna is the tall dark brown building with lots of windows on half of it. The windowed side is the sunroom/my office, it is still under construction. The side without windows is the sauna.
To get to the sauna, follow the string of lights, which begin at the common area and end at the sauna. The lights will remain on during open hours and shut off automatically at closing time.

Other things to note
There is no cellphone reception. Some phones can pick up reception 3 miles up the road at the Conglomerate Falls parking area. I do offer my wifi but it is limited and it does not always work so please download videos/music prior to arrival, or just enjoy the lack of communication with the outside world!

Rockhound Hideaway is a pet friendly property. Please keep pets on their leash when in common spaces, but well behaved and non aggressive dogs are welcome to be off leash at your private lodging outdoor areas. You will be charged for destructive pets. I do ask that you message me first just so I can be aware of furry friends. Please pick up after your pet when on a trail or common area, and check the area surrounding the cabin before checkout.

There is no freezer in the cabin's mini fridge, if you have frozen items, please bring a cooler for storage, or in the winter items can be left in your vehicle.

The entire Cabin area/fire pit/grill is private for your use. You may encounter other guests on your walk to the vehicle, down to the waterfall on the back of the property, or at a common outdoor space for guests who care to mingle. The common space, is currently under construction but still available for use when I am not actively working on it. It provides an outdoor fire place, seating, a lawn toss game, and most importantly, a place for all guests to mingle if they would like!

Quaint 950 sq ft farmhouse in the Upper Pennisula of Michigan, one mile from Lake Superior outside of Hurley, WI and Ironwood MI. The house is a marvel of a day gone by of hand-built workmanship & beauty but with modern conveniences. The home was built in the early 1960's. Trees were cut off the land and hand-milled into lumber and dried for 3 years. You will marvel at the beauty, workmanship & quality along with the hand-made furniture. A very tight, quiet & highly insulated home.

The space
$100.00 per night. $100.00 cleaning fee. Living room, 3 bedrooms one full bathroom with tub, large kitchenette does not have a stove or dishwasher. Dining table is located in the eat in large kitchenette. Refrigerator, water dispenser & large farmhouse sink. We do have a small Oster oven big enough for a 9x13 baking pan. It will toast as well as bake. Cookie sheets, 8 x8 pan and muffin pans in the kitchen will fit in the oven. Two burner hot plate, electric griddle, electric frying pan, air fryer, crockpot and microwave.

Plenty of room for parking.

Centrally located to so much of the area's great outdoor experiences. Located off Lake Road (next to Lake Superior) conveniently located just minutes between Saxon Harbor, WI. and Little Girl's Point MI.

All the area attractions are close by. Direct access to snowmobile trails, ATV/UTV trails (including the world's largest annual ATV/UTV Rally and parade.) Skiing is close by as well, Powderhorn and Mt. Zion ski hills and cross-country trails. Plus, the recently renovated Copper-Peak ski-flying hill (the largest in North America.) Plenty of hunting and fishing in the area, in the fall Upper Peninsula notorious fall colors at your convenience. Close by, there are the historic areas of Hurley, Wisconsin and Ironwood, Michigan.

The farm is in the forest & as such has all the advantages, but also the risks of the wild outdoors. Wild animals including but not limited to deer, porcupines, chipmunks, skunks, squirrels, racoons, wild turkeys, wolves and bears may be in the area.
There is a pond on the property (but not for use by guests), wild animals may be in the area. The house has a basement which is off limits to guests. The basement stairs are open but corded off with a chain and no entry sign, please do not go down in the basement.

The space
This cozy little cabin is my personal residence, however my partner and I purchased and are fixing up my Great Aunt and Uncle's cabin a few doors north, so when we are planning to be there working on it, or we are out of town, I will occasionally rent out my personal space for others to enjoy! This means the cabin is stocked with kitchen supplies and will have some personal touches and evidence of me, but I generally keep my personal belongings locked in the back entryway closet it at our new home. We do not yet have running water at our new home, so I may (or may not) need to access the spigot on the side of the Conglomerate cabin to get water. The spigot is below your kitchen window, but just outside of your private fenced in area.

*The wood stove in the cabin is off limits. It can be finicky when it is windy, and my insurance will not cover any incident that may occur due to the long distance to our volunteer fire department. It is cute, but only for looks for my guests.

Rockhound Hideaway offers four different guest units on my two acres situated on the edge of the Ottawa National Forest in the Black River Harbor Village. There is access to the Black River (and a waterfall!) from the property and several waterfalls within walking or snowshoeing distance by following national scenic trail, the North Country Trail. Lake Superior and Black River Harbor beach are one mile up the road. Two of my other rentals and one cabin with full time residents use my driveway to access their homes and my other cabin rental is right next door, so this is not a completely secluded location. Rockhound Hideaway also offers two other lodging units- a glamping bell tent and a redesigned Shasta trailer. My cabin and small fenced backyard area are private for your use. My other cabin is right next door and your backyard spaces are somewhat visible to each other.

New in 2024- I am sharing the wood-fired Finnish sauna I built with my guests! It is $5 per guest, per stay to use and requires reservation outside of the public sauna hours of 4-6pm daily. There is a full sauna instruction manual in your cabin.

You may encounter other guests on their way down to the waterfall on the back of the property, at the sauna or at the parking area. If you are looking to accommodate a larger group, I do offer discounted rates for those looking to book the entire property. Please message for entire property prices.

Important note: This cabin operates on a well so be mindful of water use or you may run out. There is enough parking for you for 2 vehicles next to your cabin. If you plan on bringing a trailer or need extra parking for any reason, I may be able to accommodate but advance notice must be given to me so I can make proper arrangements.

We have great neighbors, you must visit Dave down the hill to the left he is an amazing wood carver. He has some really cool goats too. If you want a good laugh just spend a few minuets talking with him. It is worth the visit! Plus I am sure you will love his work. Please remove sheets from beds used at end of stay, also Garbage comes on Mondays by 8 am everything must be bagged( they will not pick up any loose trash) put it in big cans and put by road. Please wash the dishes before you leave also. Winter months we get a lot of snow and you occasionally may have to use the snow shovel provided to clear a path in front of cabin. We do have a snow service but they do not come every day. We are on septic so do not flush any items but toilet paper. Please do not wash any grease or oil down the drain in the kitchen. Also we have average water pressure due to having a dug well. If you have any questions please contact us.

A cozy cabin in the forest of Upper Michigan awaits. Located on 25 acres of mature forest to play, explore or just relax. A lite remodel has kept its rustic charm, and freshened it up a bit.
Enjoy the 25 acres of mature forest to explore, with trails and peaks, wildlife and stargazing. A Campfire area for backyard fun. Black River is a mere 1 mile hike through the forest. The newly paved bicycle pathis just a mile away down the bluff.

The space
The property is in the Anvil neighborhood on a bluff. A walk around Anvil offers views of up to 10 miles and other bluffs. We have trails through the forest and the backside of the property meets the power line which can be hiked down to the river and Ramsey. Shown in the pictures.

You can Hike all of the property, and have the entire cabin. Parking is ample for your trailer and recreational vehicle.

The snowmobile trail is accessible
at the base of the bluff, a 1 mile ride.
There are trails on the property to ride back to the power line and into the forest.

NOTE: This is an OFF-GRID cabin: no electricity, no running water, compost toilets, etc. These are not limitations, but perks, helping you reconnect with a more simple existence. We do provide ample water, but recommend you bring some of your own.

Outside area has shade tent, picnic table, fire ring, swing set on the beach.

Please bring your own wood! To minimize impact on the land, we discourage gathering logs from the area (a bit of kindling is fine).

There is a solar shower bag, useful on sunny days. Otherwise, you may be able to take a shower at the Sunday Lake Campground in Wakefield (takes quarters). You can also jump in Lake Superior, which is great for your health. The mouth of the Presque Isle River has the deepest water for swimming.

Very weak cell reception and no internet— ideal for finding clarity. We can hook up internet for you at the main cabin for a small fee.

Please bring your own sleeping bag / blankets / linens. Due to lack of power for laundry machine / laundromat nearby, we do not provide linens.

Bring flashlights, candles, and anything else you need to be comfortable.

There are no amenities up here— get everything you need in town in advance! Wakefield is 20 minutes away.

Check out this 708 sq ft cozy cabin, located only 3 miles from the beautiful Porcupine Mountain wilderness state park/Presque Isle river waterfalls and trails. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator/freezer, a coffee maker, a 2-burner cook top and a flat top griddle for all of your cooking needs. Please keep in mind that there is NO running water. There is a 5 gallon water jug stand with a dispenser valve by the kitchen sink, in case you need to wash any dishes.

The spacious living room has a large sectional couch and a brand new 50" smart TV to stream any of your favorite services. All while enjoying in air condition (or propane heat if needed).
Unfortunately, the wood stove inside is not for use.

Outside you will find the outhouse, a fire pit, and a large sauna with a changing room.

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION**
You will need to start the generator in order for any electricity to turn on (located outside by the sauna building) instructions will be provided for both the generator and sauna use. We will provide you with your first 5 gallon supply of gas for the generator. Should you need more, there are local gas stations approximately 15 miles nearby.

Also, please note again that there is ONLY an outhouse on the property-located outside of the main cabin. The shower head in the sauna is not for use, however, you can still bathe in the sauna with buckets of water.

The space
It is a log home with a fieldstone fireplace. A beautiful knotty pine rustic interior with a gorgeous view outside. There are 3 bedrooms. Upstairs has a queen bed and a small room with a full bed in it. Downstairs features a bedroom with 3 bunks. There are 2 bathrooms one on the main floor and one off the downstairs bedroom.
There is a washer and dryer downstairs as well.
The downstairs living area features a bar and mini-fridge with a large TV and Bluetooth stereo system.

There is easy access to the ORV trails from the lodge during the summer. Unfortunately we do not have easy access to the snowmobile trails any longer. During the winter you will need to trailer your sleds to any of the public parking areas in the community. We also have free parking at Snow Chasers Lodge with easy trail access. The Gogebic Range Trail Authority will no longer provide a trail from the ski hill to the snowmobile trail.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful Northwoods cabin located right next to the Black River with access to multiple waterfalls and walking distance to Black River Harbor on Lake Superior. We also have a 30’ charter fishing boat at the harbor if anyone wants to book a fishing trip up to 6 people!

The space
The cabin comes with two bedrooms and a spacious loft. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other bedroom has a full over full bunk bed. The upstairs loft has two twin beds and a loveseat that turns into a twin bed as well. There’s one full bathroom and a newly remodeled kitchen with a brand new stove, fridge and microwave. The living room has internet TV provided with the Wi-Fi and a brand new double reclining couch. The large front yard has a patio area as well as a gravel fire pit. There’s plenty to enjoy inside and out!

Other things to note
We have a slow return well which means the water needs to be used sparingly. There’s plenty for dishes or a shower, but take a break between use and let the hot water heater refill.

*If you have any scent sensitivities, please let me know ahead of time and I will try to use unscented cleaning products.

Snowmobile or ski, it’s the perfect place to be in the Winter. In the Summer and Fall you can ATV, fish or hike to beautiful waterfalls. Take a short snowmobile/ATV ride for easy access to trail 2. Otherwise, Powderhorn, Indiahead and Blackjack Mountains are all within a 5 minute car ride for all your skiing needs. When you’re done, come home and warm up by the wood burning stove.

Welcome to the Campfire Lodge at Big Powderhorn Ski Resort. This spacious 3 bedrom, 2 bathroom A-Frame chalet is located just 3 blocks from the Mountain and just a short drive to Black River Harbor, The Waterfalls, Copper Peak, and much more. We are in the heart of the Western UP vacation country. Our lodge features a hot tub, nice WiFi, 58" smart TV, dry sauna, books and games galore, and most importantly a space to make great memories.

The lodge is two story northwoods A-Frame in the "Powder Village" neighborhood near Big Powderhorn Ski Resort. In the winter, the neighborhood is alive with skiers and snowmobilers as the property is close to Snowmobile Trail #2. In the summer, the alpine property hosts hikers and vacationers seeking water and woods. The outside deck features plenty of seating for entertaining, a new hot tub, and the property includes a BBQ grill, fire pit with more seating and even a level 2 EV charger if needed.

A tremendous amount of love and hard work have been put into transforming our old farm house on 20 acres to a cabin homestead. Our home features 3 bedrooms & 1 bathroom, updated with hardwood cabinets and stainless appliances in the kitchen, beautiful fixtures in the bathroom and new flooring throughout. The spacious front porch offers enough room for hang drying your snow gear while doing a load of laundry. Just off of the cozy living room, you'll find the master bedroom featuring handcrafted furnishings & 55" smart tv. On the other side of the living room, you'll pass through the office space with a view of the back fields that leads to the freshly carpeted 2nd floor that has 2 bedrooms that sleep 7.
Our 20 acre property and surrounding area has numerous man-made trails allowing you to spend countless hours enjoying the outdoors, whether its hiking for watterfalls, snowshoeing, atving, or snowmobiling.

Our cabin is very cozy and we want you to feel at home!! We have a large yard for games, campfires, and more. There’s a sauna to enjoy and if it’s raining we have a ping pong table in the basement. Walmart is a straight shot up the road for shopping.

The beautiful Black River Parkway is located 20 minutes away where there are hiking trails to 5 different falls, Copper Peak ski jump and Lake Superior beach.

The space
The whole place is open to use. We ask that you treat it as your own and respect it of course! We have a NO SMOKING policy and ask that you respect it for all to enjoy. Violation of this policy will result in an additional cleaning fee to remove smoke odors. If you do smoke outside we expect you will put the butts in the appropriate containers outside. If we have to pick up buts in the yard or the driveway there is additional cleaning fee of $25.

As fall approaches take a drive down the Black River Parkway and enjoy the blazing colors of the maples and aspens. Also with the start of fall, people are beginning to plan for the Big Snow Country winter activities of skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. The area offers some of the best hills, trails and routes in the mid west with 200 inches of lake snow. If you’re interested in seeing the river, follow the path down the hill which leads you to the Black River. Please avoid entering the Sauna and Sugar Shack as those are inaccessible to our guests. The space
We have a large area for parking and can accommodate snowmobile trailer parking on each side.

Enjoy Quiver Inn duplex that can be rented as one, 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, 2 half baths, 2 kitchens, two living rooms. This duplex has an interior door to combine the two spaces. Keep one side private and have your friends on the other. Everyone is happy. Perfect for two families or 4 couples.

Other things to note
During the summer this parking area can be used as a side yard or again trailer parking. Close to Copper Peak, Little Girls Point, Black River Harbor and several waterfalls on your way to the harbor. We have a locker for our Quiver guests available at Big Powderhorn Mountain. We are adding that absolutely no fireworks are allowed on our property.

Bring the whole family to this great cabin nestled in the woods on the side of Big Powderhorn Mtn. Bear Summit is a 5 bedroom 3 bathroom cabin that sleeps 13 people. (The 6th bedroom is an open loft area).
Featuring a wood burning fireplace, board games, and plenty of space. You can stream your favorite shows on 2 smart TVs.
Up to 3 dogs are welcome, there is a $50 pet fee per stay.
While we are on the mountain, we are not a ski-in ski-out cabin. It is just a short few minutes drive to the base.

The space
Internet is available throughout the house. There are 5 bedrooms and a loft area. 3 bedrooms and the loft are on the top floor. 1 bedroom is on the main floor and 1 bedroom is in the lower level. 4 of the bedrooms have queen beds. 1 bedroom has a guest and a twin. The loft area has a twin bunk bed as well as a TV ready for streaming your favorite services. (Using your login credentials).
There is a bathroom on each of the 3 levels. The kitchen, main dining area, wood burning stove, and family room are on the main/middle floor. This TV is also ready to stream your favorite service.
On the lower level there is a secondary eating area/board game room including an air hockey table. There is also a partial secondary kitchen with an extra refrigerator and sink.
The lower level can be chilly compared to the upper levels but there is an extra electric heater that can be used.
New this year is a ski rack near the main entrance.

Full house is available except for the owner closets in the lower level. (They are marked and locked)

Other things to note
As for anywhere within the Big Powderhorn Area, it is recommended to have an AWD or 4WD vehicle if arriving just after or during a snowstorm.
There are security cameras on the exterior of the property.
If you are bringing a dog (up to 2) be sure to include that in your search criteria in the # of guests section.
Amenities such as toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, dishwasher pods, and garbage bags are provided on a limited basis but should last 2-3 days with normal usage.
New in 2025 - Generac Generator that will automatically turn on within 20 seconds of a power outage. It will power the whole house including furnace and well pump.
While the cabin is located on Big Powderhorn, it is also very close to Snowriver and Mount Zion Ski Resorts.

Come and enjoy all the Upper Peninsula has to offer this summer, fall, and winter! The colors are GORGEOUS and the nearby waterfalls are so fun! There are a whole stretch of them on your way to Lake Superior. Great views of the ski resort Big Powderhorn Mountain can be seen from the deck. The home is close to town with lots of amenities. A spacious kitchen with a large dining table big enough for 10, 5 bedrooms, and enough bathrooms for added privacy. Outside you will be surrounded by woods.

To get into the house there are 2 steps from the ground. There are two bedrooms on the main floor and 3 bedroom on the lower level. Two of the bedrooms have walkouts to the lower level deck.
