Our home was professionally decorated and it's very comfortably furnished. The master bedroom suite offers a private retreat after a hard day at play. There's a whirlpool for two and a private bath and every window offers views of mountains, trees or Lake Superior.

Lutsen's ski hills are just a mile up Ski Hill Road, you can see the ski runs from the master bedroom window. This is the best skiing in Midwest! Miles of scenic snowmobile trails through Superior National Forest accessible directly from our home.

Hundreds of miles of spectacular hiking trails criss cross the forests and mountains. Mountain biking and horseback riding are available at the top of the hill. Kids of all ages will love the Alpine Slide just up the road. Ride the new 8 passenger Gondola to the top of Moose Mountain and have lunch on the deck of the chalet, it's a spectacular view! Golfers, Superior National Golf course offers 27 holes of beautiful scenery and challenging golf right across Ski Hill Road. Bikers, the newest section of the Gitchi-Gami State trail is just a 1/4 of a mile down Ski Hill Road. Enjoy a smooth ride along the lake, over the waterfalls in Temperance River Park and all the way to Cross River. Walk to the North Shore WInery across Lodge Lane.

Set in Superior National Forest with no buildings behind it, just lots of trees. Fabulous 3 season porch. Without a doubt, this was the best place we have stayed in our many years visiting! The location is perfect for heading anywhere along the north shore and it is literally STEPS from a winery! The house itself is both spacious and cozy! The back porches are so great - if the bugs are bad you can enjoy the screened porch, or sit on the open one and enjoy coffee in the morning. An amazing private setting and cute cabin 2 bed , 2 baths with big lake views on 13 private acres, yet it’s 1 mile to Superior and close to several big resorts and Lutsen ski area is one mile .Added a new gas fireplace inside and also has a great fire pit outside. Hooked up the WiFi to go with the satellite TV. Great for small families as it is close to lots of fun things to do at the ski area and near golf course too.

This cabin, (Superior views ) is very comfortable for smaller groups. It features one large bedroom, a 2ND bedroom Split from Master with a Queen bed and single bed. It has two bathrooms, one big full bathroom and a 2nd half bath , a full-size kitchen and living area plus an attached garage. There is also a screen porch and a deck, both with big views of Lake Superior. The main bedroom also with lake views .

The cabin ideally accommodates a family of up to 5 people.*
This property backs up to the Minnesota State Scientific and Natural area and hundreds of acres of private land. It is very close to the ski area, golf course and many great restaurants.

The screen porch is a wonderful place to listen to the animal sounds (but not be in a tent). Hiking trails, mountain biking paths, berry picking areas, access to lakes and rivers are all nearby and much more - the owner will be happy to help you figure out what fun things you might want to do. We have Sat TV and it has a great cell signal for phones and iPads and fiber internet.

Family owned cabin since 1965 located in best area of the North Shore is now offered for rent for their first time! Steps to beautiful, level and private solid bedrock shoreline - walk out with your cup of coffee in the morning to the lake. Or a great place to picnic in the afternoon... Or enjoy a cocktail "on the rocks" in the evening. Or just sit on the deck and watch/listen to the waves crash on the ledge rock below (waves can be heard at night inside too providing calming bedtime music).

South Facing means sun all day! On quiet Cascade Beach Road which provides opportunity for long walks without noise and fear of traffic. Quick drive to nearby and spectacular Cascade River Falls and Temperance River Falls. 15 minute drive to Grand Marais; 10 minute drive to Lutsen resort, golf, and ski area. Turnaround parking for trailers. Architecturally pleasing stone fireplace and windows overlooking Lake Superior make the Great room a warm and inviting area to hang out, talk, read a book, or listen to music.

- "It was so great to have a little private rock beach spot on the lake. It's a fairly private cabin- there are trees between you and the neighbors. It's obviously a family cabin and very adorably decorated in that north woods cabin style. It's close to other activities and attractions. There is everything you need in the cabin and it is clean and well kept. I agree with other reviewers the bathroom is very small and the experience requires some mobility, so not the best for mobility impaired guests. But it was great and exactly what we were looking for. The beautiful picture windows looking out at the lake are perfect. We had fires, roasted marshmallows, and relaxed. I loved it. It was not a resort experience, but if you wanted a resort experience, you shouldn't be on this website."

This sweet cabin provides three bedrooms, two bathrooms with sleeping availability for up to 10 people. Built in 2017, everything is newer and ready for your enjoyment.

The kitchen provides a granite island with bar stools and is well stocked with everything you could possibly need and more. The kitchen/dining/living area boast a floor to ceiling stone gas fireplace - just a great place to kick back and relax.

The bathrooms include a walk-in tiled shower on the upper level and a tub/shower combination on the main level.

The exterior of the cabin consists of two outdoor living areas - a partially covered wrap around porch accessible from the main living area with gas grill and outdoor dining table for your enjoyment AND a large covered balcony off of the upper level bedroom...perfect for star gazing. The stars are absolutely incredible here! In the quiet of the night, you can even hear the falls....serenity and peace!

What makes the bedrooms so inviting? I have so carefully chosen top of the line furniture, mattresses and bedding for your comfort with luxury bed linens from the Hilton Collection. Comforters and pillows are down alternative. All of the bedrooms provide a flat screen TV with satellite TV. The king bedroom offers a large balcony perfect for star gazing. All bedrooms have ceiling fans plus additional tabletop fans, if needed. A Pack N Play is, also, available for the little ones. The pull-out twin sleeper and EZ beds all have gel foam mattress toppers for your comfort.

Painted Rock sits perched on a quaint spit of Lake Superior ledge rock, halfway between Lutsen and Grand Marais on the edge of Cascade River State Park.

This historic log cabin has been fully restored to retain all its original charm and history of bygone days, while updated with all the modern amenities. Nestled along the bank of Lake Superior's rugged coastline, right at the very end of Cascade Beach Road, WoodSong is situated at the edge of Cascade River State Park and almost exactly between Lutsen and Grand Marais — easy 10-minute drives in either direction. Completely rebuilt, this artisan-crafted cabin was spared no expense in its attention to detail. From the overall design to the hand-forged forged ironwork, painstaking care was given to every square inch. The result is something more akin to a crafted wood sculpture than a mere dwelling. A spacious main room is built around the granite-faced wood-burning fireplace with French doors that open directly out to the Big Lake. Each of its 2 bedrooms has its own, private spa-like bath, complete with deep soaking tub.

Outside, the charm is in full force … Not only is WoodSong's patio a stone's throw from Lake Superior's lapping waves, but it also has a lake-side covered porch. Repurposed from an original, historic North Shore fish house — one of the few that remain standing from that bygone era — time with coffee, wine, and friends is about as close to North Shore ecstasy as it gets! - "This was the second time we (4 adults and 2 kids) have stayed at Diana's cabin, and it was just as good as the first time. Check in was a breeze and communication with Diana was prompt and professional. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed from plenty of pots/pans in the kitchen to a lot of towels in both bathrooms. Diana added extra treats like pure maple syrup, pancake mix, chocolate bars and a very good bottle of wine from the North Shore Winery just up the road. All beds were comfortable and everyone had plenty of space in the cabin. If they didn't, they could go out on the deck or in the screen porch which many games of Yahtzee took place. Thank you again Diana. We had an amazing time!!"

Welcome to Fish Hook Cove! Ideally located on Cascade Beach Road halfway between Lutsen and Grand Marais, this vintage 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom cabin was built in 1938 and updated in 2019 to add modern conveniences to this quaint retreat's original charm and character. A large wood burning fireplace constructed from hand- picked stones from the property’s stunning shoreline is the focal point of this comfortable cottage that sleeps four. Recent updates include: fully remodeled bathrooms and kitchen complete with all new appliances, including a dishwasher, an expansive multi-level deck modeled after the original deck built in the 1930's. Adding to the historical significance of this vintage cabin is the re-use of white pine harvested from the Old Globe Grain Elevator in Superior, Wisconsin. Half of the cabin's interior walls, along with several meticulously hand- crafted pieces of furniture, use the nearly 200 year old Old Globe Elevator white pine - check out the many Old Globe Elevator photographs framed with Old Globe white pine. The cozy cabin is only half of the story. This stunning lake shore property includes a winding path to a wooden foot bridge across a private cove leading to a meandering massive ledge rock shoreline. The Lodge on Caribou Lake is a spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bath log cabin that can sleep up to 10 people. Enjoy the open kitchen, dining room, and living room, boasting large wooden beams that give it a lodge feel. This beautiful cabin is located on a large lot, on a beautiful and clean 720 acre inland lake, where you can enjoy swimming, fishing, canoe/kayaking, and gorgeous sunsets. The public boat landing is less than 5 minutes from the cabin. Don't forget your fishing poles---the lake has walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike, bluegill, black crappie and many more. Use our canoe and single and tandem kayaks to explore the serene and beautiful Caribou Lake.

If you are looking for a place to party, be loud, and jet ski, this is not the place for you.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!! If you love the outdoors, you've come to the right place! During the winter months, you can enjoy the best downhill skiing in the Midwest at Lutsen Mountain with an 8-passenger gondola and 4 mountains. They enjoy an average of 10 feet of snow annually. The area is also a prime location for snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing, with groomed ski trails within a mile of the cabin. For cross-country skiers, check out the Norpine Trail Association system.

The beautiful views of the majestic Lake Superior are a short 5-minute drive. If you want to experience some north shore culture, Grand Marais, MN, which is known for its art, food, and gorgeous views, is only 25 minutes from the cabin. Do you want to get some exercise during your trip to the north shore? It's easy to do with the 310-mile Superior Hiking Trail and numerous state parks in the area, offering the best hiking in the midwest, with numerous picturesque waterfalls. If biking is your thing, ride along Lake Superior on the Gitchi Gami trail, or enjoy mountain biking on several trails, including Lutsen Mountain and Jackpot Trail. Finally, don't miss an opportunity to play a round of golf at the beautiful, 27-hole Superior National Golf Course, which has signature holes alongside the Poplar River.

If you are heading to the north shore to relax, you can stay indoors and enjoy the crackling fire, as well as the puzzles, books, and board games provided for our guests' enjoyment.

Although we love animals, we do not allow pets.

Note: We rent a cottage on the property to someone who splits their time between the Twin Cities and Lutsen. The cottage is approximately 500 feet from the cabin.

Fairway Pines Lodge is a 2,000 square foot log cabin located on the 5th fairway of Superior National Golf Course and is less than a 5 minute drive to the Lutsen Mountains gondola and ski area. It is also a 5 minute walk to North Shore Winery. The cabin has been designed to be a relaxing getaway and for enjoying the North Shore and is close to many activities on the North Shore.

Key Updates:
- In March 2025, we installed a mini-split air conditioner and heat pump (see pictures).
- We replaced the deck in October, 2025 (see pictures). We'll have full updated pictures coming in 2026.

The cabin has three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms with sleeping availability for 10. Key amenities include:
- High speed (200 mb) internet
- Use of the garage, which is especially nice in winter months
- Secure ski locker for storing skis, snowshoes, etc. We have eight sets of snowshoes available for guest use (2 of 8 are kids size)
- Newer mattresses (as of April 2022)
- Newer higher end West Elm pull-out couch with gel foam mattress (as of April 2022)
- Great room has a 55" flatscreen with soundbar

The kitchen has quartz counter tops with a 10-foot peninsula for a convenient eating area and coffee station. It includes stainless steel appliances and has all the modern amenities you will need for your getaway.

The great room has plenty of seating for you and your travel party to kick back and relax in front of the amazing gas fireplace! Just past the great room is a four season porch, which has its own heating source and can stay warm in the winter months. The four season porch also includes a new pull-out couch with a queen size gel foam mattress.

There is a large deck with four new Adirondack chairs as well as a dining table and chairs providing a relaxing space for guests to unwind after a day exploring the North Shore. Here you will also find a gas grill. Just past the deck is a firepit for the group to enjoy.

Bedrooms include the following:
Master bedroom on the main floor. It has a king bed and en suite bathroom, which includes a jetted soaking tub.

Two bedrooms on the second floor and each have queen beds. There is also a shared full bathroom on the second floor.

Just outside the second floor bedrooms is a loft, which includes a pull-out couch with a queen size gel foam mattress. The mattress also includes a pillow-top mattress cover.

For those traveling with children, we have worked to make the cabin kid friendly. We have two pack 'n plays, a high chair, kid friendly tableware and flatware, night lights, and a number of games.

A twin inflatable mattress is also available for guest use.

The cabin has one exterior camera mounted on the garage and is pointed towards the driveway.

Winter Bookings: The driveway is on an incline and we strongly recommend a 4WD or AWD vehicle during the winter months. While snowmobile trailers are allowed, please note the driveway does not have room to turn around a trailer. Please also note the homeowners association does not allow for trailer parking on the road.

Lorelei of the Lake - located just feet away from majestic Lake Superior on legendary Cascade Beach Road, "Lorelei" is the perfect property for all seasons. Comprised of a 2 bedroom main cabin and 1 bedroom guest cabin, this property was completely renovated in 2021. And while it has all the amenities you'd expect from a new project, the renovation stayed true to classic Minnesota cabin architecture and will take you back in time.

The 2 bedroom main cabin has a wonderful open floor plan that features a combined gathering room/kitchen area with a wood-burning fieldstone fireplace for those often chilly nights (fire wood included of course!!). It features classic Minnesota aged pine walls and ceilings, painted hardwood floors, a lakeside master bedroom with a queen sized bed and a guest bedroom with a queen bed and single built-in bed nook. The bathroom is also newly remodeled with new cabinetry, stone countertops, fixtures, and a tile shower. The main gathering area features a built-in game/puzzle table, a wood burning fieldstone fireplace, along with rustic, yet comfortable, furniture and sitting areas for a rainy day or movie night! The kitchen is well equipped for the chef of the family with new appliances, high end dishware, small appliances, and cutlery. But the highlight of the cabin is picturesque Lake Superior, which is located only 30’ lakeward from the cabin. The gradual elevation to the lake allows for fun exploration along the rocky shoreline, and includes a lakeside firepit and an expansive lakeside deck for morning coffee or outside dining.

The guest cabin is equally quaint, also newly remodeled, and furnished “to the nines”. In addition to the queen bed, there is a daybed (single) with a trundle underneath (also single) to accommodate 4 guests in the guest cottage. Other features include a Jotul gas fireplace, a small “coffee bar”, a small table for cards, breakfast, or coffee, and a newly renovated bathroom with new cabinetry, stone countertops, fixtures, and a tile shower.

For those that need to stay connected, Lorelei also includes lightning fast High Speed Wi-Fi throughout the structures and a high definition Smart TV in the main cabin for streaming shows and movies.

This property is perfect for a family, an extended family, or a couple families; we have a strict limit of 9 occupants. There are 3 Queen beds (1 per bedroom) and 3 single beds. We do keep our calendar updated at all times and so if you are seeing availability then it’s likely available. Upon reservation confirmation you'll receive a complete 'what to bring' list in advance so you are prepared for your time up north. And feel free to inquire with any questions you may have and we’ll be prompt to reply! Lorelei is perfectly located northeast of the town of Lutsen about 3 miles, and southwest of Grand Marais by 14 miles. For those planning to ski, the Gondola at Lutsen Mountain is 6 miles away. For those looking to snowmobile, you can jump on the main trail less than 1 mile from the cabin. And for the hikers there are literally dozens of world class hiking trails located with 10 miles. And for the wanderers in the group the towns of Grand Marais, Lutsen, Tofte, and Schroeder are filled with fun shops and galleries to explore. Lorelei and the North Shore Area is wonderful in all 4 seasons.

This area sees an incredible amount of snowfall during the winter months. Fyrreskov Cabin is accessible year round but sits 2 miles back on privately maintained road. Once there is snow on the ground 4WD or AWD is necessary, potentially as early as October or as late as April, and the drive in can be narrow and steep at times.

Guests have exclusive use of the entire cabin, not including the basement. We have a 17 foot aluminum canoe that guests can use on Lake Clara for no extra charge.

Please note, there is a security camera by the front door of the cabin to monitor the driveway and front door access as needed.

In order to comply with state lodging laws, guests will be asked to provide the name and address of all guests as well as the vehicle make/license plate number in case of emergency after booking.

Caribou Lake Lookout is a cozy log cabin in Lutsen, MN that has recently been updated. Enjoy a quiet stay with stunning views of Caribou Lake during the day and star gazing at night, or come and enjoy all the North Shore has to offer. Close access to many inland lakes for kayaking, fishing, and canoeing. Cross country ski trailhead just 5 minutes away, along with endless opportunities for snowshoeing and other outdoor adventures. Just 15 minutes to Lutsen Mountains. Enjoy hiking on the Superior Hiking Trail, visiting nearby Grand Marias, or exploring the many state parks nearby. We have two pairs of adult snow shoes and two pairs of youth snow shoes for you to use at your convenience. You must have a 4wheel drive vehicle in the winter as this particular area gets a large amount of snow and there is a slight incline at the end of the driveway.

This cozy cabin has one main bedroom with a queen size bed as well as a guest bedroom (twin bunk beds- sliding barn door), one bathroom, a living space with couch/chair/dining table, 32 inch TV with chromecast for streaming (no cable), kitchen, both electric heat and wood burning fireplace, and three season porch. If you would like to use the wood burning fireplace, please bring your own local firewood which can be purchased nearby. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, apartment size oven, microwave, Kuerig coffee maker, toaster, coffee press, baking sheets/pans, mixing bowls, pots and pans, silverware/glassware/dishes, and all basic cooking utensils. Please note, there is no air conditioning. Located in a quiet neighborhood on its on two acre property.

To winter guests:
Fyrreskov Cabin is a sanctuary in any weather and our guests love the secluded location, but in order to ensure we meet your highest expectations we ask to have a conversation with our guests within 48 hours of booking or prior to booking if desired.

This area sees an incredible amount of snowfall during the winter months. Fyrreskov Cabin is accessible year round but sits 2 miles back on privately maintained road. Once there is snow on the ground 4WD or AWD is necessary, potentially as early as October or as late as April, and the drive in can be narrow and steep at times.

Guests have exclusive use of the entire cabin, not including the basement. We have a 17 foot aluminum canoe that guests can use on Lake Clara for no extra charge.

Welcome to our beloved family home on a quiet cove with a rare pebble beach on Lake Superior. This open and comfortable home has TWO primary bedrooms, one of which is on the main floor for easy one-level living. Our address is on highly desirable “cascade beach road” for privacy and a great place to stroll or bike. Enjoy amazing views, three decks, “Room & Board” furniture, new mattresses & linens, fresh lighting, and all the comforts of home.

The space
Amazing views from nearly every room and large lakeside decks envelope you in nature, while comfy updated furnishings and a gas fireplace make it cozy when you want to stay in. This home has two primary bedrooms, one of which is on the main floor for easy one-level living! Take a stroll along “cascade beach road”, a long, quiet gravel frontage road, or skip rocks in Lake Superior from the private pebble beach right outside your door.

Entertainment: Smart TV and fast WiFi. Wide collection of classical and jazz CDs for the stereo (we're old school like that.) Lots of board games in the cupboards, and binoculars too. Even a piano!! Sea Kayak, canoe, PFDs, fishing rods in garage.

AREA: The Gitchi Gammi paved bike trail starts just a few miles south of us and runs for miles and miles along the lake… or, pick it up just north of us and bike right into the wonderful coastal town of Grand Marais! Cascade River State Park, with hiking and waterfalls, is just a few miles away from our home, as is Lutsen Mountains complete with alpine slide, gondola, mountain biking, hiking, and of course XC and downhill skiing. We can provide suggestions for day trips, hiking areas, and outdoor adventures!

Families with Kids: There is a pack-and-play on site (under the bunk beds.) There is one set of steep stairs, but it is fairly easy to gate them off and use only on the main floor. There is no bathtub but the shower has a long sprayer hose that works great. The cove and beach are wonderful for rock-skipping and wading, but children should NEVER be on the rocks unaccompanied. We have two toy cabinets filled with toys and games.

Bedrooms: This home features a main floor primary AND a second story primary, along with a comfy Room & Board pull out sofa. One- level living is easy.

Kitchen: Full kitchen includes oven, gas range, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, plates, utensils, cookware, baking items, fry daddy, indoor s'mores maker, crockpot, pancake griddle. For outdoors, there are marshmallow sticks, solo stove (or just make a fire on the rocks!), and a small charcoal grill.

PETS: NO pets allowed of any kind due to allergies.

NORTH SHORE REALITIES: This home is 70 years old. We do get the occasional mouse. We have a service and there may be bait traps and glue traps down. (No open poison!) In a wet summer the mosquitoes can get intense and you will want to be careful about doors and screens. In the fall, we can get cluster flies inside the master bedroom - they don't bite but they are gross and will need to be swept up. (Tip: These 3 inconvenient pests are a universal challenge for all homes in this area. If other listings don’t mention, they are not being transparent.).

Mobility notes: While there is a small lip at the threshold to enter into the home, you can be very comfortable here without ever climbing stairs. There is a bedroom and 3/4 bath on the main floor (with a spray shower hose), along with the main living spaces. There are no additional handrails and doorways are standard size.

The home was built in the 1940s and still has many quaint features from North Shore homes built during that era, including the original hardwood floors and arched ceilings with solid wood beams. It sits on an acre wooded lot that leads right up to the ledge rock and cobblestone beach.

Area Information
At Sunrise Hollow you are just a short drive away from Lutsen, MN where you can enjoy many of the area's attractions. Lutsen Mountains Recreation area has an alpine slide and sightseeing gondola and the Superior National at Lutsen Golf Course is open to the public. There are miles of hiking and mountain biking trails to enjoy. Many of the area restaurants feature live music most evenings in the summer, so be sure to pick up an activity calendar to see what's going on during your stay.

Sunrise Hollow is a seasonal cabin and yours to enjoy May through October.

2025 newly renovated (new bathroom,floors,windows) clean, tastefully furnished cabin on Caribou Lake...5 min from Lutsen, 10 from Lutsen Mtn, 20 to Grand Marais. 5 minute walk to SHT for hiking, biking, collecting rocks. Located in the heart of Lutsen on Ski Hill Road, this log lodge boasts an open living space with vaulted ceilings. Nestled amongst trees in a safe and quiet neighborhood, you are also just half a mile from all of the action on Lutsen Mountains. There is a 2nd level private master bedroom with a king bed and private bath. The main level has one bedroom with two twin beds and the other with a queen bed. The living room couch is a queen futon. There is no WiFi or cable.

Guest access
Grand Marais, an easy and beautiful 20 miles to the north, is worth the drive. Fun shops include The Trading Post and the Sivertson Gallery. There are many more. Gunflint Tavern has a good beer selection and root beer on tap. Voyageur Brewing Company is a good stop. Others cannot pass up Sven and Ole’s or World’s Best Donuts. The Angry Trout is also quite good. There is also a library, Java Moose coffee shop, food coop, 2 grocery stores, a pharmacy, and a good medical clinic that we have been to on more than one occasion.

Tofte, 8 miles south of the cabin, offers The Coho Café for excellent bread. Their dining menu is also good. We also enjoy Blue Fin Bay’s restaurant. The Tofte grocery store has a greater selection than the Lutsen stores.

In the Lutsen area, you will find Lockport Marketplace for groceries, coffee, breakfast, baked goods, gas, and small gifts. It is 1 mile up the road towards Grand Marais. Across the street (Highway 61) you will find Clearview General Store, Fika Coffee and a post office as well as a liquor store. There is a hardware store another mile or so up the road.

Papa Charlie’s, on the ski hill, provides a casual dining experience and a gift shop. There is also, of course, skiing. Down the hill on the lake is Lutsen Resort, which has a fine dining restaurant and a cozy lobby.

The Superior Hiking Trail provides an awesome experience no matter where you hike and any season. There are books describing the trail in the cabin. Lutsen Mountain rents snow shoes, downhill skies, and cross-country skis.

The winery just up hill on Ski Hill Road opened in 2016 and has wine and tasty cider.

Other things to note
There is no wifi or cable. There are two TVs and DVD players. If you plan to use a computer to connect to the TV, you must bring your own connection cords.
The kitchen is equipped to cover most cooking needs with many utensils and a variety of spices, salt, pepper, etc. There is a drip coffee maker. Please plan to provide the type of coffee you prefer.

The space
Welcome to our 1500-square-foot cabin in the forest. It can accommodate up to 6 guests in two private bedrooms furnished with memory foam beds, one king and one queen. The "3rd bedroom" is a king-sized bed located in the downstairs family room.

Looking to work from home? The internet is faster than a frightened timber chicken jacked up on caffeine (... that's slang for "Grouse," which you might see in the woods up here). There is a desk with an office chair that adjusts to a standing desk.

Looking to NOT work from home? We have plenty of relaxing things to do:

29' Deck hammock for you and 5 friends! (or just you) Chill, watch the clouds go by, or the trees sway in the breeze. Catch the stars at night or maybe even the Northern Lights. Or catch a nap, naps are great. I recommend naps. The deck is high in the woods, you'll feel like you're in a tree house.

Soak in the wood-fired hot tub.
A fresh water tub uses fresh, potable water and no chemicals, eliminating some of the health concerns associated with chlorine and aluminum exposure (the tub is made from fiberglass and 304 Stainless Steel).
You can think of it like a giant outdoor bathtub for 6 that’s heated with the ambience of a crackling wood fire.

130" Projector screen, with an Apple TV for streaming or connecting your own Apple devices with AirPlay. (No cable). An additional HDMI hook-up in case you're bringing something to hook up, like a gaming console.

Slide into a relaxing bubble bath in the jacuzzi tub in the upstairs bathroom.

Start a bonfire in the Solo Stove and relax in the Adirondack chairs.

Have cold feet? Leave your slippers at home, the entire cabin has in-floor radiant heat (Upstairs & Downstairs) to keep toes nice and toasty.

In the kitchen, you'll find a Wolf gas range for cooking fancy things (there's a microwave and toaster oven for making not-so-fancy things too). All the silverware, pots, pans, plates, measuring cups, and utensils you need for the basics. And Ice. Cold ice, because what good is warm ice?

Mix something ornate at the coffee bar, or a regular cup of joe.

Put your feet up and relax by the fireplace that boasts a custom hand-hewn log mantle, with cool lighting (at least we think it's cool).

The open floor plan and large windows lets in a lot of light with great views of the forest.

Other things to note
Stairs -
The spiral staircase is quite narrow and may be difficult to use for children, the elderly, or those with mobility issues. There is a baby gate installed at the top of the stairs, which you are welcome to use. You can walk around the cabin and access the lower level outside from a walk-out patio door during the non-winter months (May-Oct). There is a bathroom on each floor.

WiFi and Cell Service -
The cabin does have WiFi. There is no cell service in this area for AT&T and T-Mobile. Verizon has a very limited signal in some pockets.

Road Access & Snow -
The property is accessed by a single-lane gravel road. There are a few spots along the road to pull over if there is an oncoming car. Please pull off to the side if you see an oncoming vehicle.

You will need a 4-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle in the winter months, the gravel road & driveway are plowed only if there is at least 3-4" of snowfall. Take it slow, the roads can get quite icey, and there is a small hill at the end of the driveway. Cell Phone service is limited in this area if you need to call a tow truck.

You may need to shovel a short path from the driveway to the front door in the winter months. (Please note the deck is not shoveled in the winter, but there is a shovel if you'd like to use it)

Parking -
There are 3-4 parking spots at the end of the driveway right near the house. Turning around in the driveway is tight so we don't recommend it with a trailer. Watch out for the well when turning around, which is located alongside the driveway.

Garbage Service -
Because this is a remote service area, you will need to take all your trash with you at the end of your stay. There is a local place you can drop it off 4.7 miles away for $5-10/bag if you do not want to take it back home with you. We do provide trash bags.

In order to comply with state lodging laws, guests will be asked to provide their name, address, and vehicle make & license plate number of all guests after booking. The state/county will ask us for these in case of an emergency such as a forest fire where evacuation is needed. Thank you!

Other things to note
Cozy Blue Caribou has a few quirks that make your stay unique. Here are a few to note before you book:

Ladder: getting up to the loft requires going up and down a ladder (it has a railing and larger steps, however it is steep). Guests who use the ladder accessing the loft do so at their own risk.

Locks: charming hook latches are used as locks for both bedroom barn doors as well as the half bathroom door in the loft. The main level bathroom has a normal locking doorknob.

Cozy Blue Caribou is most comfortable for 6 adults but can easily accommodate 8 guests.

Direct Booking Guests:
Before you arrive you will be asked to complete guest verification through third-party provider Truvi. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection. Truvi will contact you via email and/or text to complete the verification. Please do so prior to arriving at the property to enable a quick and easy check-in process.

Just down the dirt road you can enter the superior hiking trail which winds its way to Canada. At the end of your driveway sits 18 acres of your own private forest.

The space
1 mile of dirt road takes you to this very private, heavily covered with trees lake home. 3 bedrooms each with a queen bed. The master has a private bathroom. The second full bathroom with tub and shower is near the entrance. This vacation home really satisfies multi generations with glowing reports from age 2-95! Truly something for everyone whether it’s fishing, reading, star watching, watching movies,cooking, skiing, biking, hiking or shopping in Grand Marais. We have had writers finish books and members from the MN Orchestra practice for a performance. While there is high speed wireless internet and a large screen tv, many guests have told us that they never felt the need to “plug in” while at Casabella! A brand new large screened-in porch gives you even more space to gather.

The cabin feels like it was dropped into the woods right next to Caribou Lk. Cathedral of the Pines just down the road is known to many who have attended camp there. A one acre lot makes the property very private. At days end you can utilize the well appointed kitchen to make dinner and then you could gather around the fire pit down by the lake or build a fire in the living room or play games at the large dining table or watch the night sky on the screen porch or soak in the hot tub or watch a movie on the large screen TV up in the loft. If you didn't want to cook yourself, you could head to Grand Marais and take advantage of the many choices in restaurants, brewery, bars and music venues.

Other things to note
Kids love turning the loft into a play house (they need to crawl up a small ladder to get to it.) Whether its a warm summer stay or a snowy winter vacation, guests always seem to enjoy the coziness of the wood burning fireplace in the cabin or the outdoor fire ring down at the lake. They comment about playing games as a family, watching movies on large screen tv upstairs, fishing, cooking, going to various restaurants in the area, skiing, snowshoing on Lake Caribou, taking the gondola over moose mountain, mountain biking and taking the kids to the alpine slide. "Stars are brighter than you can imagine and the northern lights are brilliant over the lake!"

Nestled on a 27 hole golf course, Big Cedar House is blessed with a prime location! With views of the ski area and Lake Superior, guests can cozy up with a book or take a short walk to the winery. The house sits on a foundation that rolls into an old growth ring of cedar trees. This ring of cedar trees captured the hearts of the owners. The lot is unique in that with the encompassing foliage you would never guess you were on a golf course until you hear the occasional “ting” of a golf club or the cheer of a good shot. Otherwise it is a quiet forest with chipmunks and squirrels going about their day to day.

EV cars:
We have a 30amp outdoor outlet for EV charging. It is about 20’ from the parking. a cord and charger are not provided. Please message Ben any questions.

Big Cedar House is a versatile structure with 2600 sf and 3 stories. Each level has sleeping arrangements with cozy blankets, comfy pillows, and a clean bathroom. Each level of this newly (2019/2020) built home has a covered porch facing the cedar trees for sunset colors peeking through the pines. A perfect spot to breathe deep, let your shoulders relax, and uncork a bottle from the local winery.

Other things to note
We have a "bear box" that keeps the garbage locked from bears. We have had the occasional bear looking for treats in the garbage so it is a good idea to keep first floor windows locked at night. Also double bag food garbage (especially fish scraps) and consider keeping those in the entry until departure. Welcome to the North Woods lol!

There is a firepit out back in the cedar trees. Please follow firepit rules:

Lorelei of the Lake - located just feet away from majestic Lake Superior on legendary Cascade Beach Road, "Lorelei" is the perfect property for all seasons. It features a 2 bedroom main cabin and 1 bedroom guest cabin, and was completely renovated in 2021. And while it has all the amenities you'd expect from a new project, the renovation stayed true to classic Minnesota cabin architecture and will take you back in time. Located north of Lutsen about 3 miles and 14 miles south of Grand Marais.

The space
The 2 bedroom main cabin has a wonderful open floor plan that features a combined gathering room/kitchen area with a wood-burning fieldstone fireplace for those often chilly nights (fire wood included of course!!). It features classic Minnesota aged pine walls and ceilings, painted hardwood floors, a lakeside master bedroom with a queen sized bed and a guest bedroom with a queen bed and single built-in bed nook. The bathroom is also newly remodeled with new cabinetry, stone countertops, fixtures, and a tile shower. The main gathering area features a built-in game/puzzle table, a wood burning fieldstone fireplace, along with rustic, yet comfortable, furniture and sitting areas for a rainy day or movie night! The kitchen is well equipped for the chef of the family with new appliances, high end dishware, small appliances, and cutlery. But the highlight of the cabin is picturesque Lake Superior, which is located only 30’ lakeward from the cabin. The gradual elevation to the lake allows for fun exploration along the rocky shoreline, and includes a lakeside firepit and an expansive lakeside deck for morning coffee or outside dining.

The guest cabin is equally quaint, also newly remodeled, and furnished “to the nines”. In addition to the queen bed, there is a daybed (single) with a trundle underneath (also single) to accommodate 4 guests in the guest cottage. Other features include a Jotul gas fireplace, a small “coffee bar”, a small table for cards, breakfast, or coffee, and a newly renovated bathroom with new cabinetry, stone countertops, fixtures, and a tile shower.

For those that need to stay connected, Lorelei also includes lightning fast High Speed Wi-Fi throughout the structures and a high definition Smart TV in the main cabin for streaming shows and movies.

This property is perfect for a family, an extended family, or a couple families; we have a strict limit of 9 occupants. There are 3 Queen beds (1 per bedroom) and 3 single beds. We do keep our calendar updated at all times and so if you are seeing availability then it’s likely available. Upon reservation confirmation you'll receive a complete 'what to bring' list in advance so you are prepared for your time up north. And feel free to inquire with any questions you may have and we’ll be prompt to reply! We pride ourselves on keeping our property and structures/equipment pristine and are certain we'll exceed your expectations in that regard.

Lorelei is perfectly located northeast of the town of Lutsen about 3 miles, and southwest of Grand Marais by 14 miles. For those planning to ski, the Gondola at Lutsen Mountain is 6 miles away. For those looking to snowmobile, you can jump on the main trail less than 1 mile from the cabin. And for the hikers there are literally dozens of world class hiking trails located with 10 miles. And for the wanderers in the group the towns of Grand Marais, Lutsen, Tofte, and Schroeder are filled with fun shops and galleries to explore. Lorelei and the North Shore Area is wonderful in all 4 seasons.

WoodSong is nestled along the bank of Lake Superior's rugged coastline at the end of Cascade Beach Road and the edge of Cascade River State Park. Completely rebuilt, this artisan-crafted cabin was spared no expense in its attention to detail. The space
A spacious main room is built around the granite-faced wood-burning fireplace with French doors that open directly out to the Big Lake. Fairway Pines Lodge is a 2,000 square foot log cabin located on the 5th fairway of Superior National Golf Course and is less than a 5 minute drive to the Lutsen Mountains gondola and ski area. It is also a 5 minute walk to North Shore Winery. The cabin has been designed to be a relaxing getaway and for enjoying the North Shore and is close to many activities on the North Shore.

The space
Key Updates:
- In March 2025, we installed a mini-split air conditioner and heat pump (see pictures).
- We replaced half our deck in 2024 (see pictures). The second half is planned to be replaced in October 2025.

The cabin has three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms with sleeping availability for 10. Key amenities include:

- Use of the garage, which is especially nice in winter months
- Secure ski locker for storing skis, snowshoes, etc. We have eight sets of snowshoes available for guest use (2 of 8 are kids size)

The kitchen has quartz counter tops with a 10-foot peninsula for a convenient eating area and coffee station. It includes stainless steel appliances and has all the modern amenities you will need for your getaway.

The great room has plenty of seating for you and your travel party to kick back and relax in front of the amazing gas fireplace! Just past the great room is a four season porch, which has its own heating source and can stay warm in the winter months. The four season porch also includes a new pull-out couch with a queen size gel foam mattress.

There is a large deck with four Adirondack chairs as well as a dining table and chairs providing a relaxing space for guests to unwind after a day exploring the North Shore. Here you will also find a gas grill. Just past the deck is a firepit for the group to enjoy.

Bedrooms include the following:
Master bedroom on the main floor. It has a king bed and en suite bathroom, which includes a jetted soaking tub.

Two bedrooms on the second floor and each have queen beds. There is also a shared full bathroom on the second floor.

Just outside the second floor bedrooms is a loft, which includes a newer pull-out couch with a queen size gel foam mattress. The mattress also includes a pillow-top mattress cover. Lastly, we purchased a 4" foldable mattress to place on top of the pull-out mattress. This provides for a comfortable sleeping area.

For those traveling with children, we have worked to make the cabin kid friendly. We have two pack 'n plays, a high chair, kid friendly tableware and flatware, night lights, and a number of games.

A twin inflatable mattress is also available for guest use.

The cabin has one exterior camera mounted on the garage and is pointed towards the driveway.

Winter Bookings: The driveway is on an incline and we strongly recommend a 4WD or AWD vehicle during the winter months. While snowmobile trailers are allowed, please note the driveway does not have room to turn around a trailer. Please also note the homeowners association does not allow for trailer parking on the road.

If you love the outdoors, you've come to the right place! During the winter months, you can enjoy downhill skiing at Lutsen Mountain. The area is also prime location for snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. In the summer, you can hike the beautiful 310-mile Superior Hiking Trail, bike the Gitchi Gami trail, mountain bike, and golf the beautiful, 27-hole Superior National Golf Course. If you want to experience north shore culture, Grand Marais, is a 25 minute drive.

The space
The Lodge on Caribou Lake is a spacious log cabin with an open kitchen, dining room, & living room, boasting large wooden beams, a wood fireplace, and a kids' area with books, toys, stuffed animals and a rocking moose. Enjoy meals at the large dining room table that can comfortably seat 10 people. Spend time mingling as you cook with 4 barstools at the kitchen island.

It has 3 spacious bedrooms that are in a separate part of the cabin from the main living area. The master bedroom offers a king size bed, a private 3/4 bathroom, and a view of Caribou Lake. The moonlight room has a queen bed and a beautiful view of the moon. The third bedroom is large, with a queen bed and two bunk beds, perfect for a family. There is also a second bathroom with a tub and shower.

There are two TVs in the cabin, one in the master bedroom and one in the basement family room. Both allow access to netflix and other streaming platforms by simply logging into your account.

The cabin has plenty of options for outdoor eating/seating with 3 decks---two that offer a table and umbrella and another deck with two adirondack chairs. All of the decks have a view of Caribou Lake.

Other things to note
If you are looking for a place to party, be loud, and jet ski, this is not the place for you.

Note: We rent a cottage on the property to a resident of Lutsen. It is approximately 500 feet from the cabin.

This sweet cabin provides three bedrooms, two bathrooms with sleeping availability for up to 10 people. Built in 2017, everything is top notch and ready for your enjoyment.

The kitchen provides a granite island with bar stools and is well stocked with everything you could possibly need and more. The kitchen/dining/living area boast a floor to ceiling stone gas fireplace - just a great place to kick back and relax.

The bathrooms include a walk-in tiled shower on the upper level and a tub/shower combination on the main level.

The exterior of the cabin consists of two outdoor living spaces - a partially covered wrap around porch accessible from the main living area with gas grill and outdoor dining table for your enjoyment AND a large covered balcony off of the upper level bedroom...perfect for star gazing. The stars are absolutely incredible here! In the quiet of the night, you can even hear the falls....serenity and peace! What makes the bedrooms so inviting? I have so carefully chosen top of the line furniture, mattresses and bedding for your comfort with luxury bed linens from the Hilton Collection. Comforters and pillows are down alternative. All of the bedrooms provide a flat screen Smart TV with satellite TV, easily access your Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. accounts. The king bedroom offers a large balcony perfect for star gazing. All bedrooms have ceiling fans plus additional tabletop fans, if needed. A Pack N Play is, also, available for the little ones. The pull-out twin sleeper and EZ beds all have gel foam mattress toppers for your comfort.

The space
This authentic log cabin features an open main-level floor plan, with its individual nooks carefully combined to provide distinctly functional spaces within its openness — all centered around a wood-burning stove and native stone hearth wall. Extensively remodeled in 2024, great care was employed to ensure the cabin strikes the perfect balance of modern amenities and function, with a crisp, timeless aesthetic that speaks to the legendary history and charm of the Northwoods forest in which it sits. Upstairs, a generous master suite greets guests with a full window-wall overlooking the lake and the Sawtooth Mountains, with their enchanted ridgeline silhouetted with layers of majestic, towering red and white pines. This master king bedroom features an abundant, spa-like bathroom, complete with a walk-in shower and a free-standing soaker tub overlooking the same calming views as the bedroom itself. Two additional bedrooms sit side-by-side on the second level, and share a second spacious full bathroom. With screened porch access directly from two of the bedrooms, a gas fireplace in the master bedroom, and central air conditioning furnishing all three, Tarnmoor’s bedrooms are as comfortable on those joyous warm summer days as they are cozy on the coldest of winter nights.

Outside, the abundance that is woven into Tarnmoor’s DNA continues … Multiple sitting and gathering areas await, with both a covered screened porch on the second level, and a generous main-level deck located right out the back door that overlooks the water and mountains. With generally no other dwellings in sight — and surrounded by its own spacious 6 acres of northwoods forest and meadow — the magic of the morning stillness at sunrise easily causes Tarnmoor’s guests to feel far more secluded than the short 10-minute drive to the village of Lutsen might suggest. Add the lakeside sitting area, firepit, and a private dock that’s perfect for launching daily fishing and paddling adventures, and the combined experience of a stay at Tarnmoor has all the makings for memories that will last a lifetime.

Tarnmoor is located on one of the most legendary and spectacular sections of the entire North Shore. Hundreds of miles of Sawtooth Mountain trails (hiking in the summer, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter) are conveniently accessible — with the groomed cross-country trails of the Norpine Trail System just a short 3-minute drive away, and the famous Caribou and LTTA Snowmobile Trail System accessible directly from the cabin. And within a 30-minute drive, everything the North Shore is known for is also easily accessible: world-class hiking, fishing, paddling, biking trails, skiing, state parks, galleries, local restaurants, NorthHouse Folk School, and a vibrant live music scene. After all, Tarnmoor sits in the heart of Cook County and near Grand Marais, which was named by Travel & Leisure magazine as "America's Best Small Lake Town" in 2023!

At Moose Mountain Cabin, you are centrally located to everything Minnesota’s North Shore has to offer. It is walking distance to the Superior Hiking Trail and Lutsen Mountain’s Alpine Slide and a five minute drive from Lake Superior, Superior National Golf Course and Fika Coffee.

The cabin is just up Ski Hill Road from Highway 61 where you will find countless State Parks for walking, hiking and enjoying nature. Some of our favorite hiking destinations are Caribou Lake, Oberg Mountain and Cascade River State Park.
