Our home was professionally decorated and it's very comfortably furnished. The master bedroom suite offers a private retreat after a hard day at play. There's a whirlpool for two and a private bath and every window offers views of mountains, trees or Lake Superior.

Lutsen's ski hills are just a mile up Ski Hill Road, you can see the ski runs from the master bedroom window. This is the best skiing in Midwest! Miles of scenic snowmobile trails through Superior National Forest accessible directly from our home.

Hundreds of miles of spectacular hiking trails criss cross the forests and mountains. Mountain biking and horseback riding are available at the top of the hill. Kids of all ages will love the Alpine Slide just up the road. Ride the new 8 passenger Gondola to the top of Moose Mountain and have lunch on the deck of the chalet, it's a spectacular view! Golfers, Superior National Golf course offers 27 holes of beautiful scenery and challenging golf right across Ski Hill Road. Bikers, the newest section of the Gitchi-Gami State trail is just a 1/4 of a mile down Ski Hill Road. Enjoy a smooth ride along the lake, over the waterfalls in Temperance River Park and all the way to Cross River. Walk to the North Shore WInery across Lodge Lane.

Set in Superior National Forest with no buildings behind it, just lots of trees. Fabulous 3 season porch. Without a doubt, this was the best place we have stayed in our many years visiting! The location is perfect for heading anywhere along the north shore and it is literally STEPS from a winery! The house itself is both spacious and cozy! The back porches are so great - if the bugs are bad you can enjoy the screened porch, or sit on the open one and enjoy coffee in the morning. An amazing private setting and cute cabin 2 bed , 2 baths with big lake views on 13 private acres, yet it’s 1 mile to Superior and close to several big resorts and Lutsen ski area is one mile .Added a new gas fireplace inside and also has a great fire pit outside. Hooked up the WiFi to go with the satellite TV. Great for small families as it is close to lots of fun things to do at the ski area and near golf course too.

This cabin, (Superior views ) is very comfortable for smaller groups. It features one large bedroom, a 2ND bedroom Split from Master with a Queen bed and single bed. It has two bathrooms, one big full bathroom and a 2nd half bath , a full-size kitchen and living area plus an attached garage. There is also a screen porch and a deck, both with big views of Lake Superior. The main bedroom also with lake views .

The cabin ideally accommodates a family of up to 5 people.*
This property backs up to the Minnesota State Scientific and Natural area and hundreds of acres of private land. It is very close to the ski area, golf course and many great restaurants.

The screen porch is a wonderful place to listen to the animal sounds (but not be in a tent). Hiking trails, mountain biking paths, berry picking areas, access to lakes and rivers are all nearby and much more - the owner will be happy to help you figure out what fun things you might want to do. We have Sat TV and it has a great cell signal for phones and iPads and fiber internet.

Family owned cabin since 1965 located in best area of the North Shore is now offered for rent for their first time! Steps to beautiful, level and private solid bedrock shoreline - walk out with your cup of coffee in the morning to the lake. Or a great place to picnic in the afternoon... Or enjoy a cocktail "on the rocks" in the evening. Or just sit on the deck and watch/listen to the waves crash on the ledge rock below (waves can be heard at night inside too providing calming bedtime music).

South Facing means sun all day! On quiet Cascade Beach Road which provides opportunity for long walks without noise and fear of traffic. Quick drive to nearby and spectacular Cascade River Falls and Temperance River Falls. 15 minute drive to Grand Marais; 10 minute drive to Lutsen resort, golf, and ski area. Turnaround parking for trailers. Architecturally pleasing stone fireplace and windows overlooking Lake Superior make the Great room a warm and inviting area to hang out, talk, read a book, or listen to music.

- "It was so great to have a little private rock beach spot on the lake. It's a fairly private cabin- there are trees between you and the neighbors. It's obviously a family cabin and very adorably decorated in that north woods cabin style. It's close to other activities and attractions. There is everything you need in the cabin and it is clean and well kept. I agree with other reviewers the bathroom is very small and the experience requires some mobility, so not the best for mobility impaired guests. But it was great and exactly what we were looking for. The beautiful picture windows looking out at the lake are perfect. We had fires, roasted marshmallows, and relaxed. I loved it. It was not a resort experience, but if you wanted a resort experience, you shouldn't be on this website."

This sweet cabin provides three bedrooms, two bathrooms with sleeping availability for up to 10 people. Built in 2017, everything is newer and ready for your enjoyment.

The kitchen provides a granite island with bar stools and is well stocked with everything you could possibly need and more. The kitchen/dining/living area boast a floor to ceiling stone gas fireplace - just a great place to kick back and relax.

The bathrooms include a walk-in tiled shower on the upper level and a tub/shower combination on the main level.

The exterior of the cabin consists of two outdoor living areas - a partially covered wrap around porch accessible from the main living area with gas grill and outdoor dining table for your enjoyment AND a large covered balcony off of the upper level bedroom...perfect for star gazing. The stars are absolutely incredible here! In the quiet of the night, you can even hear the falls....serenity and peace!

Comforters and pillows are down alternative. All of the bedrooms provide a flat screen TV with satellite TV. The king bedroom offers a large balcony perfect for star gazing. All bedrooms have ceiling fans plus additional tabletop fans, if needed. A Pack N Play is, also, available for the little ones. The pull-out twin sleeper and EZ beds all have gel foam mattress toppers for your comfort.

Painted Rock sits perched on a quaint spit of Lake Superior ledge rock, halfway between Lutsen and Grand Marais on the edge of Cascade River State Park.

This historic log cabin has been fully restored to retain all its original charm and history of bygone days, while updated with all the modern amenities. Nestled along the bank of Lake Superior's rugged coastline, right at the very end of Cascade Beach Road, WoodSong is situated at the edge of Cascade River State Park and almost exactly between Lutsen and Grand Marais — easy 10-minute drives in either direction. Completely rebuilt, this artisan-crafted cabin was spared no expense in its attention to detail. From the overall design to the hand-forged forged ironwork, painstaking care was given to every square inch. The result is something more akin to a crafted wood sculpture than a mere dwelling. A spacious main room is built around the granite-faced wood-burning fireplace with French doors that open directly out to the Big Lake. And within a 30-minute drive, everything the North Shore is known for is accessible: world-class hiking, fishing, kayaking, biking trails, skiing, galleries, restaurants, NorthHouse Folk School, and a vibrant live music scene. NorthLight Lodging is a family-operated, boutique hospitality operation consisting of several guest cabins along Lake Superior’s North Shore in northern Minnesota. Ranging in size from 1 to 4+ bedrooms — and all sitting along the easternmost stretch of coveted Cascade Beach Road — NorthLight's properties are located halfway between the grandeur and skiing of the Lutsen Mountains and the charming harbor town of Grand Marais. Each cabin is nestled right along the lakeshore and has been curated with painstaking attention to detail. Our goal in designing, crafting, and appointing our cabins is to embody all the subtle enchantment of the North Shore region we so love. Miles of hiking, snowmobiling and mountain biking trails are accessible from our back yard!
The proximity to Lutsen Mountains and Lutsen down town gives you convenient and easy access to the slopes, local restaurants, Fika Coffee, bars and shops. The three season screened porch will make the North Woods summer evenings enjoyable looking at the camp fire in our back yard.

- "This was the second time we (4 adults and 2 kids) have stayed at Diana's cabin, and it was just as good as the first time. Check in was a breeze and communication with Diana was prompt and professional. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed from plenty of pots/pans in the kitchen to a lot of towels in both bathrooms. Diana added extra treats like pure maple syrup, pancake mix, chocolate bars and a very good bottle of wine from the North Shore Winery just up the road. All beds were comfortable and everyone had plenty of space in the cabin. If they didn't, they could go out on the deck or in the screen porch which many games of Yahtzee took place. Thank you again Diana. We had an amazing time!!"

Welcome to Fish Hook Cove! Ideally located on Cascade Beach Road halfway between Lutsen and Grand Marais, this vintage 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom cabin was built in 1938 and updated in 2019 to add modern conveniences to this quaint retreat's original charm and character. A large wood burning fireplace constructed from hand- picked stones from the property’s stunning shoreline is the focal point of this comfortable cottage that sleeps four. Recent updates include: fully remodeled bathrooms and kitchen complete with all new appliances, including a dishwasher, an expansive multi-level deck modeled after the original deck built in the 1930's. Adding to the historical significance of this vintage cabin is the re-use of white pine harvested from the Old Globe Grain Elevator in Superior, Wisconsin. Half of the cabin's interior walls, along with several meticulously hand- crafted pieces of furniture, use the nearly 200 year old Old Globe Elevator white pine - check out the many Old Globe Elevator photographs framed with Old Globe white pine. The cozy cabin is only half of the story. This stunning lake shore property includes a winding path to a wooden foot bridge across a private cove leading to a meandering massive ledge rock shoreline. Fish Hook Cove is the perfect mix of unmatched lake views, dramatic accessible shoreline, comfort, and vintage charm.

The historic cabin has been remodeled with wonderful attention to detail in preserving its vintage past yet without sacrificing comfort. Cabin was pristine and turn-key perfect and the owner was very attentive! We loved everything about it and plan to return!" - "Amazing vacation rental. The Lodge on Caribou Lake is a spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bath log cabin that can sleep up to 10 people. Enjoy the open kitchen, dining room, and living room, boasting large wooden beams that give it a lodge feel. Take advantage of the fully equipped kitchen and large dining room table as well as a roomy island with 4 stools. For the cooler months, enjoy the warmth of the wood fireplace.

The cabin has plenty of options for outdoor eating/seating with 3 decks---two that offer a table and umbrella and another deck with two adirondack chairs.

This beautiful cabin is located on a large lot, on a beautiful and clean 720 acre inland lake, where you can enjoy swimming, fishing, canoe/kayaking, and gorgeous sunsets. The public boat landing is less than 5 minutes from the cabin. Don't forget your fishing poles---the lake has walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike, bluegill, black crappie and many more. Use our canoe and single and tandem kayaks to explore the serene and beautiful Caribou Lake.

If you are looking for a place to party, be loud, and jet ski, this is not the place for you.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!! If you love the outdoors, you've come to the right place! During the winter months, you can enjoy the best downhill skiing in the Midwest at Lutsen Mountain with an 8-passenger gondola and 4 mountains. They enjoy an average of 10 feet of snow annually. The area is also a prime location for snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing, with groomed ski trails within a mile of the cabin. For cross-country skiers, check out the Norpine Trail Association system.

The beautiful views of the majestic Lake Superior are a short 5-minute drive. If you want to experience some north shore culture, Grand Marais, MN, which is known for its art, food, and gorgeous views, is only 25 minutes from the cabin. Do you want to get some exercise during your trip to the north shore? It's easy to do with the 310-mile Superior Hiking Trail and numerous state parks in the area, offering the best hiking in the midwest, with numerous picturesque waterfalls. If biking is your thing, ride along Lake Superior on the Gitchi Gami trail, or enjoy mountain biking on several trails, including Lutsen Mountain and Jackpot Trail. Finally, don't miss an opportunity to play a round of golf at the beautiful, 27-hole Superior National Golf Course, which has signature holes alongside the Poplar River.

If you are heading to the north shore to relax, you can stay indoors and enjoy the crackling fire, as well as the puzzles, books, and board games provided for our guests' enjoyment.

Although we love animals, we do not allow pets.

Note: We rent a cottage on the property to someone who splits their time between the Twin Cities and Lutsen. The cottage is approximately 500 feet from the cabin.

Note: 4WD/AWD is highly recommended once the snow starts falling.

It was even more beautiful with the flowers blooming and the lake accessible. We enjoyed having fires outside, sitting on the deck to eat and converse and using the lake (when it was warm enough!) There were kayaks and a canoe to use which was so nice that we didn't have to bring our own. So close to hiking trails and other fun things to do. The home itself is just immaculate and we enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen to cook and the beautiful space including games and books on the shelves, as well as the toys for the kids. Thanks for another great stay and we hope to stay again!"
