Amasa, Michigan, USA

Welcome to Double Eagle Lodge located remotely in the heart of Michigan's pristine Upper Peninsula. Escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life with a trip into the great outdoors. No cellphone reception or Internet connection allows you to relax in the quiet of nature. This quaint log cabin is located on the shores of Long Lake. Though the lodge is 13 miles from the nearest electricity source, the solar panels and back up generator charge the battery bank to give the comforts of home while preserving the natural sounds of the surroundings. This log cabin sleeps six total, with four single beds in the loft and a queen size bed in the private bedroom downstairs. The cabin is equipped with indoor plumbing including a flush toilet and a shower, as well as a fully functioning kitchen. There is a separate building for the propane fired sauna and a second shower.

With the exception of the owner’s cabin there are no other cabins on the lake. Long lake has excellent fishing with Walleye, Bass, Perch and Northern Pike, which are the most predominant fish. If one is quiet, there are plenty of wildlife to catch a glimpse of such as moose, deer, bear, wolves, coyote, beaver, otter and many birds – including bald eagles nesting nearby. If you enjoy kayaking or canoeing, one can paddle up and downstream until beaver dams are reached. One can hike, mountain bike, swim, snowshoe, and snowmobile all day and may not see another human. Finally, at the end of the day everyone can relax sitting around the fire pit watching the sunset and roasting S'mores. Once the fire dies down the night is truly dark with no influence of city lights. The stars are incredibly clear and bright!

Available on the property for your use are 2 kayaks with paddles, a paddle boat, and a fishing boat! What else could you ask for.

- "The property was lovely. It’s not quite finished, but beautiful nonetheless. Right by the river with fishing gear and canoes. Until everything is finished its a bit precarious to reach the river, but no problem for my family. Just an issue if you have an elderly or disabled family member. Lovely gift bag of wine and all the fixings for smores. The cabin had everything you could think of needing, they even provided charcoal, firewood, fire starters and lots of fun games. Truly a memorable experience! We will be back!!!!"

We didn’t have any, but we never saw anyone." - "The management company of this cabin is absolutely wonderful to work with! Very responsive and went out of their way to change my dates around when Ski-Brule suddenly changed the spring break hours. My son and I had a great time at the cabin. - "Exactly what a quiet week Up North should be. Cabin was well-furnished, five (!!) different boats provided, firewood provided, quiet lake with, from what I could tell, 5 total cabins on it. Almost zero mosquitos, but a good amount of flies by the shore. Hosts escorted us to the property at check-in, which I was not used to, but because it's so far off the road that's really the best way to do it." - "Excellent stay in a very private, quiet, clean well equipped cabin. Beautiful setting. Kids had a ton of fun playing outside and having campfires. Convenient to Crystal Falls for supplies and a good deli and diner. Enjoyed the boat and electric trolling motor- some nice bass and pike in there. Excellent kind owners ensure a great stay. Highly recommend if you really want to unplug, relax and enjoy nature."

- "Very convenient to boat launch, nice dock to use, everything is there that you need " - "It was very relaxing , beautiful n we had a great time sunsets and stats at night were breath stars wee" - "We loved the location. The landscaping was beautiful. The cabin was ok. Yes, it was rustic as the listing stated, but it also was in need of a good clean… especially the kitchen and all of the utensils, drawers, pots and pans. Also, we came by airplane, and missed the note that linens weren’t provided. For this price, sheets, blankets, pillows and towels would have been nice. We also had to buy extra garbage bags. The window above the bunk bed leaked making it difficult to sleep in that bed. The shower curtain was moldy, but the owner quickly got us a new shower curtain when we mentioned it. With a good deep clean and some maintenance and extra amenities, this cabin would be 5 stars."
