The space
Our cabin has 2 bedrooms, a loft, full kitchen, and beautiful sunroom surrounded on 3 sides with windows…perfect for watching the wildlife on a quiet evening or enjoying family game night. Our cabin is family/group friendly. It has the warmth of a lake house with the conveniences of home and space to enjoy all your favorite activities. The aesthetic is cozy and simple and you will find it the perfect place for you and your loved ones during your stay in Northern Michigan!

Our KITCHEN and DINING ROOM provide all that you would need for family dinners or cookouts by the lake. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything that you need to dine-in including:

+dinner and drink-ware

+outdoor charcoal grill available

The eating area is right off the kitchen in our open floor plan. Additionally, there is an outdoor picnic table for cookouts and lunches while enjoying the lake or firepit.

As you enter our LIVING ROOM area you will see plenty of space to relax and unwind, whether enjoying a movie in the TV AREA or chatting around the hearth or playing a game.

The TV is equipped a DVD player and there are DVDs available to watch. There are also several board games available.

The SUNROOM is accessible through both sets of sliding glass doors as you move through the living room areas. Enjoy our bench couch seating for an afternoon nap or cozy up with your favorite book. The view of the lake and the serenity as breeze passes though the 3-seasons room make this a favorite vacation spot. As night falls, this room is perfect for family charades or recapping the day. Should you have little ones who head to bed early, the sliding doors are perfect sound barriers to keep noise separated in the house.

As you walk out the back sliding doors to the WRAP-AROUND DECK, there is ample seating. We also have 2 picnic tables which you are free to move to the lawn. Please just place them back when you leave.

The steps lead to the spring-fed, 2 acre lake and diving board. There is a sandy area for playing and sunbathing and the water is cool and refreshing. Another favorite pass-time is catch and release fishing. The blue gill will literally jump on your hook and never seem to tire of any type of bait. We also have small and large mouth bass (please release them after catching!) as well as turtles and frogs. As a caution the turtles love to chase bait too...and can be damaged by hooks. So please watch out for them!

The several acre field is perfect for a pick-up game of kickball or frisbee…and catching fireflies during the summer months. As evening settles in, the firepit is ideal for roasting marshmallows and s’more making…and campfire songs certainly add to the ambiance. On a clear evening, look up! Most nights you can see at least a couple shooting stars. You may even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights, if luck and timing are on your side.

BEDROOM 1 is on the left as you enter the cabin. There is a full-size bed, dresser and closet space. The washer and dryer are also located in a closet in this room.

A frame ski chalet in the winter and rustic and cozy glamping option during the camping season. This rustic unique cabin is nestled on the 11 acre Winding River Campground in Benzonia Michigan. Guests have access to all amenities of the campground during the season (April to November) including activities, game room, pool and playground and have exclusive access to many parts of the 1900ft of Betsie River frontage during the months of November to March. Come stay with in Northern Michigan!

The space
We have a one bedroom on the first floor and three single beds in the loft upstairs. The main living room is connected to our camp store with a locked door and work desk as a partition. Hours of operation are 9-5pm weekdays, 9-8 on Fridays and 8-8pm Saturday and Sunday until end of October. Campground shuts down middle of November and opens in early March.

Guest access
You can access the property by stepping onto the deck. There will be a sliding glass door with a code lock.

Winding River is 3 minute drive to Family Fare grocery store, 5 minute drive to downtown Beulah and the public beach at Crystal Lake, 20 minutes to Ironfish distillery and 15 minutes to Frankfort and Lake Michigan.

Shower: While our hot water heater is new, the size of it allows for about a 10 minute hot shower, FYI!

AC: our *BRAND NEW* AC unit located upstairs in bedroom- Best to leave upstairs doors cracked/ or open so the AC can flow evenly throughout the entire house. We also have two fans available to guests if needed located in both rooms!

HEAT: located in kitchen, heats whole house. Best to leave upstairs doors open slightly to allow heat to evenly flow through house.

Third bedroom is more of a “half bedroom” or “office”— it has a futon, and also washer and dryer (however washer and dryer are behind curtain closet)— no door to this room.

We have 1 king, 2 queens, 1 twin, 2 futons and an air mattress.

Space can comfortably accommodate 6 adults (& kids of course)

Grill: Please ensure if used, you turn propane off and are grilling AWAY from the house. Place grill cover back on once use is complete.

Games: Board games are in the cabinet in living room

Bonfire: If you use bonfire pit during your stay, please ensure you've put out fire prior to departure.
