- "The rooms were far from the water, not like to picture. The living space was nice but the beds were very uncomfortable, we didn't even stay our second booked night. The room was very cold and drafty, and the thermostat was programed to 68 degrees and we very cold, it did not warm well. It didn't even come with towels! We had to go and buy our own. We wanted to rent snowmobiles and was told it was too warm, it was 35 degrees outside! When we asked around they said that it was not true, plus we saw many other people riding snowmobiles. Very disappointed."

- "The place had everything we needed! It was quaint and cozy and was right by the water. It only took about 20 minutes to drive up to Houghton Lake State Park. Tons of nearby shops and stores. Perfect place to come back to and unwind after a day in the sun. The hosts were super communicative and kind! Will definitely be back!" - "We had some troubles getting up here cus we were about a 3 hour drive, the owners were very kind and understanding, even going as far to say we could stay an extra day for free because our water pump broke on the car and we couldn't get it apart! We ended up getting it figured out and leaving when we were supposed too, but the whole stay was very nice, cold but nice! I would suggest bringing some extra blankets and thick Hoodies if you come in the winter months! With it being so close to the water it gets FREEZING!! But they provide space heaters in every room and one main heating unit in the dining room/ kitchen area! All in all 10/10! Me and my husband will definitely be coming back! Unapproved late checkouts will be subject to a $50 fee from host, as this sets back our cleaner’s schedule.

Please be respectful of neighbors. I do not allow parties.
Quiet hours are from 10pm-8am- please be courteous to your neighbors as cabins are in close proximity to each other.
Absolutely NO unregistered guests without prior approval from the owner.
Absolutely NO drugs of any kind - alcohol is OK.
Absolutely no smoking in the house and if you do smoke outside, please be courteous and clean up your butts/ash.
Absolutely no fireworks of any kind.
No firepits allowed on property other than those provided. Firepits are not to be moved.
DO NOT flush anything other than toilet paper in the toilet!
If anything breaks, spills, stains etc please let me know ASAP.
You will be charged for any major damage or if anything goes missing.
Excessive use of linens, blankets, house supplies will be subject to additional charges.
Evidence of smoking in the home will be subject to a $400 fine.

- "Lovely cabin right on the lake with a dock to tie-up our boat. The cabin was clean and had anything you would need for a comfortable stay. Easy check-in and check-out and the owners were easily assessable if needed. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything needed to prepare meals. Great water pressure in the shower! Clean, fresh linens throughout. The lake was relatively quiet during the week and busier on the weekend. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. Had a couple great meals at the very nearby Limberlost bar and grill, which is right on the water. Having the boat launch steps away from the cabin was perfect! My husband and I will definitely be back!! "

Blackstone grill with propane tank is supplied. There are full propane tanks next to the recreational room – if tanks are empty they can be refilled right across the street at Wild’s True Value Hardware. Please clean grill after each use. Please make sure foil tin is in the drip tray in back of grill- replace as needed. Extra foil trays are supplied in the recreational room.
Charcoal grills are also on the property. You will have to supply your own lighter, charcoal briquettes, etc.

- "It was beautiful I would recommend this place, my favorite place I will be back next year." - "Had a great time. Cabin was absolutely beautiful and very clean. Description can be a little deceiving. There is a sandy beach area, but then it completely drops off into the water. No direct access accept from the dock, in which you have to take stairs to get down.....the first set of stairs have no railings. Just a little shocked that the swimming area is in a boating dock area. Not a beach area. The last night there, there were 7 vehicles, 3 of which had boat and jet ski trailers in them with the water vehicles on the trailer, that pulled in. The first vehicle stopped at the roped off area and then drove straight through it....the other vehicles followed. The 7 vehicles were parked all around the "common area" for the rest of the night, not allowing access to the community's fire pit or charcoal grill. I 100% believe more clear signs and a more permanent barrier should be posted. Other than that, the stay was great. Looking forward to coming back, just not in the summer. Prefer a more clean swimming area with direct beach access"

The Wolf Cabin is 21 steps from the lake. It features 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a full kitchen with gas stove, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, drip coffee maker and enough cooking utensils, dishes and flatware to get you by. There is a small dining table and a futon with an armchair for you to relax in too. We are a pet friendly resort, so please bring your furry friends along!
1 GB of WiFi works all the way to the end of the dock, and there’s also Roku Television with Spectrum.
It also has a NEW live edge countertop, sink and backsplash! We also added new fans to each bedroom. And do provide towels and linens for the beds now too!

Welcome to a cozy cabin with a beautiful lake view and just a few minutes walk to the shore of Houghton Lake. This cabin is the perfect place to enjoy time with your family. The kids will love the outdoor space complete with grill and firepit. Enjoy the firepit as you plan your day trip to nearby areas including walking to Houghton Lake, or a quick drive to Higgins Lake and the AuSable River. There are wonderful hiking trails and beautiful parks and beaches in the area as well as over 200 miles of ORV trails.

About the Cabin: Located off the main drag, this cabin is across the street from road end access to the lake. This gives you great views and a quick walk to enter and exit the lake at the public access road end. This 3-bedroom 2-bath cabin makes an ideal stay when you head up north to enjoy nature both on and off the area lakes and rivers. Bring your boat, kayak, snowmobiles, jet skis or ORVs to explore the area and have great adventures. There is room to park at least one trailer along with two other vehicles. When the sun sets, rewind back at the cabin with a bonfire that overlooks the lake or watch the SmartTVs/Rokus with your personal log ins.

The dining area has six chairs with a bench to accommodate at least two more. The table does extend. With a hunting cabin vibe, comfortable beds and A/C. There are two full bathrooms with showers (both on first floor), a full kitchen with a Keurig coffee pot.

The patio furniture on the back deck has cushions stored in the nearby deck box.

- "The cottage was right on the lake, clean and well appointed. Lots of outdoor space to throw a football with the kids and only a couple of steps up or down for my elderly father to navigate past. Small but perfectly functional kitchen was used along with provided grill for prep, cooking and outdoor seating for meals. A great time was had and I would highly recommend this place. The Deer Cabin is only steps from the lake. It is almost twice the size of our other cabins and features 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a full kitchen with gas stove, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, drip coffee maker and enough cooking utensils, dishes and flatware to get you by. There is a larger dining table and two pull out couches and one of the most comfortable rocking chairs for you to relax in too.
We are a pet friendly resort, so please bring your furry friends along! There will be a fee of $25/pet/night charged for the stay of our furry friends.
1 GB of WiFi works all the way to the end of the dock, and there’s also Roku Television with Spectrum.
It also has a NEW live edge countertop, sink and backsplash! We also added new fans to each bedroom and do provide towels and linens for the beds now too!
Outside there is a picnic table, Weber Charcoal Grill, and a couple of chairs.
Shared amenities are the beach, dock, fire pit, kayaks, tetherball, shuffleboard, and a fish cleaning station. There is plenty of private parking right across the street for your vehicles and trailers.
The Houghton Lake area almost has too many things to mention. We are walking distance to the copper gazebo where the birdwatching and fishing are incredible. Swimming, boating (several places to rent pontoons, or we have some small fishing boats to rent too), waterskiing, GOLF (many great courses in the immediate area), fishing, hiking, ORV’s are for rent right down the street (snowmobiles too), geocaching (one of the largest in the state), shopping, eating, kayaking, color tours, cross country skiing, sledding, and many, many more things to do here.
