- "Stayed here for a family Christmas party for one night. Water park for the kids was wonderful. We requested that all 4 rooms be close together (all separate reservations, too) and that was accommodated by the professional hotel staff. Location directly on Houghton Lake was beautiful, even in the winter. Hotel was clean and nicely decorated for Christmas. Bathroom linens were plush and abundant. The king bed was firm and had high quality linens on it. Breakfast hours and selection could be improved with offering some kind of protein such as eggs and sausages. The carb-laden breakfast was not healthy and the hours of 6 to 9:30 am was too early for us. We had a great time overall and would definitely come back here."

The room was very cold and drafty, and the thermostat was programed to 68 degrees and we very cold, it did not warm well. It didn't even come with towels! We had to go and buy our own. We wanted to rent snowmobiles and was told it was too warm, it was 35 degrees outside! When we asked around they said that it was not true, plus we saw many other people riding snowmobiles. - "The place had everything we needed! It was quaint and cozy and was right by the water. It only took about 20 minutes to drive up to Houghton Lake State Park. Tons of nearby shops and stores. Perfect place to come back to and unwind after a day in the sun. The hosts were super communicative and kind! Will definitely be back!" - "We had some troubles getting up here cus we were about a 3 hour drive, the owners were very kind and understanding, even going as far to say we could stay an extra day for free because our water pump broke on the car and we couldn't get it apart! We ended up getting it figured out and leaving when we were supposed too, but the whole stay was very nice, cold but nice! I would suggest bringing some extra blankets and thick Hoodies if you come in the winter months! With it being so close to the water it gets FREEZING!! But they provide space heaters in every room and one main heating unit in the dining room/ kitchen area! All in all 10/10! Me and my husband will definitely be coming back! - "Lovely cabin right on the lake with a dock to tie-up our boat. The cabin was clean and had anything you would need for a comfortable stay. Easy check-in and check-out and the owners were easily assessable if needed. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything needed to prepare meals. Great water pressure in the shower! Clean, fresh linens throughout. The lake was relatively quiet during the week and busier on the weekend. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. Had a couple great meals at the very nearby Limberlost bar and grill, which is right on the water. Having the boat launch steps away from the cabin was perfect! About the space

Begin your escape with no-contact keyless entry. Go ahead and hang your bag in the entryway and go explore the house. You’ll even find a convenient charging station for your phone and other electronic devices and relaxing bedrooms. Later, you can return to the spacious living room for a little friendly competition or some quiet conversation or to relax with a good movie. If you must work we have high-speed internet.

In the family room, relax on our comfortable reclining couch while you take in your favorite TV show or movie on the Roku TV or challenge each other with a broad game. Enjoy the ambience of the electric fireplace, which also provides extra warmth during the colder months of the year. Enjoy hanging out in the family room enhances your ability to create some great memories.

Craft culinary delights in the fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove/oven, refrigerator, and microwave. You’ll also find a toaster, blender, and even a crock-pot. You’ll have everything you need to prepare and serve your favorite meals. You’ll even find a variety of oils, spices, cooking spray and plastic bags and wrap so you don’t have to buy those items. Grab your morning beverage from our drip coffee maker (with coffee, creamer and sweeteners) or a single cup with the Keurig machine (with a starter k cup and tea supplies) and sip it on the front patio with views of the lake. Dine at the pub table which has seating for 4 (2 additional foldable bar stools available for a tight squeeze) and enjoy your meal. Most days you can do what many of our guests prefer and dine outside on the back patio and cook on the propane grill. You can pick up groceries at one of the nearby stores – I prefer curbside pickup from Walmart. Or if you don’t want to cook, savor a great meal at one of the many restaurants in the area. Ask us for some recommendations.

As you step outside, you’ll be able to enjoy our entertaining. Choice from the lakeview front patio or the back patio with a bon-fire.

The area is an outdoor lover’s paradise. Take a walk through the neighborhood with multiple road end access with light house view or on some of the other nearby trails. Play golf at one of the courses in the area. Take a paddle on the two inflatable paddle broads with life vest provided or bring your boat or kayaks (rentals available in the area) and spend your day out on the water. There of several UTV trails in the area that you can access from the house using back roads to get there. There are several parks with beach and pavilion close by with facilities for the entire family. Or make this your base for visiting the many other attractions in Houghton Lake.

After a full day of enjoying all the area has to offer, or just hanging out at your home base taking advantage of all the fun things to do, head for a restful night’s sleep in bedrooms.

The primary bedroom features a queen bed along with plenty of storage space in the closet with full length mirror, and bedside tables with lamps touch lamps with charging plugs. Curl up with a good book in the comfortable bed or watch TV on the Roku TV.

The second bedroom features a full over full bunk bed, touch wall lamps in each bunk, and a side table with charging stand for your electrics. You’ll have plenty of room to store your luggage in the closet or on the luggage rack. Relax in bed and watch TV on the Roku TV.

Refresh and rejuvenate in the common bathroom which offers a tub/shower combo and all bathroom essentials (hair dryer, towels, makeup towels, toiletries, and more).

You’ll love the convenience of the laundry area with washer, dryer, and supplies.

Seasons:

Winter: attend Tip up Town (in Jan), walk to ice fish, bring your snowmobiles or ORV, head to the Cross-Country ski headquarters, and so much more!

Spring/Summer/Fall: swim, fish, or bring up your kayak, boat, or ORV! After coming in off the lake or trails, kick back in the comfortable living room or lounge in the back yard. Grab a seat around the fire pit and make some S'mores!

A/C/ heat mini split (Apr-Oct) and central heating provided (winter months)!

Guest has access to the entire house and property. The only exception is there are two locked cabinets (cleaning supplies) located in the bathroom and kitchen.

*Lot - Cozy small lot with parking for 3 vehicles or 2 vehicles and a trailer. The back yard is open and meets up to other neighbors' property. The back yard provides a nice space to hangout and have bonfires.

*External security camera present- Three cameras for security. Two cameras are located on the back of the house, facing the driveway/side of house/ road. A third camera is located on the front of the house, facing the front yard/lake. All cameras are on, work, & actively record video/audio. No cameras record interior spaces.

*Privacy/ Neighbors- There are houses on all side of the home. Neighbors are super close- about 20ft. away. No loud music or parties. This is NOT considered a "secluded" property.

*As the cottage is near the water, you may encounter bugs. Keeping our door lights off when not in use and doors closed when possible helps keep them outside!

*Lake View - sit on the front patio furniture; enjoy the breeze, lake view, and sunsets.

* Lake Access - located just a few homes approx 300' from the water! The lake is accessible via the public, road-end, lake access!
-The road-end lake access - you will find easy access to swim or launch paddle broads via a shallow shoreline!

I loved that you have a magnifying mirror in bathroom. Another necessity for us older folks with bad eyes!! "

Check-in is at 3pm and check-out is at 10am.
Parking provided onsite for one vehicle per cabin. No parking/driving in the roped off area.
We provide starter supplies consisting of paper towel, toilet paper, tissue, dish soap, hand soap, trash bags, and coffee. Any additional items beyond what is supplied will be the responsibility of the guest.
Please keep the front door closed as bugs tend to gravitate towards the interior lights.
No pets allowed at this home.
Please be respectful of neighbors. I do not allow parties.
Quiet hours are from 10pm-8am- please be courteous to your neighbors as cabins are in close proximity to each other.
Blackstone grill with propane tank is supplied. There are full propane tanks next to the recreational room – if tanks are empty they can be refilled right across the street at Wild’s True Value Hardware. Please clean grill after each use. Please make sure foil tin is in the drip tray in back of grill- replace as needed. Extra foil trays are supplied in the recreational room.
Charcoal grills are also on the property. You will have to supply your own lighter, charcoal briquettes, etc.
Absolutely NO unregistered guests without prior approval from the owner.
Absolutely NO drugs of any kind - alcohol is OK.
Absolutely no smoking in the house and if you do smoke outside, please be courteous and clean up your butts/ash. Evidence of smoking in the home will be subject to a $400 fine.
Absolutely no fireworks of any kind.
No firepits allowed on property other than those provided. Firepits located on property are not to be moved. We have firewood on property. You will need to bring your own lighter.
DO NOT flush anything other than toilet paper in the toilet!
Please do not move furniture inside the cabins.
Please do not move rocking chairs on porches.
If anything breaks, spills, stains etc. please let me know ASAP.
You will be charged for any major damage or if anything goes missing.
Please make sure all kitchenware stays in each cabin respectively.
Excessive use of linens, blankets, house supplies will be subject to additional charges.

Before you check-out
Put all used towels in the shower floor before you leave. You may leave used bedding on the bed (don’t strip the beds).
Please clean all dirty dishes.
Please take all garbage out to the trash receptacles located in the parking lot in front of the recreational building.
Turn off any lights, ceiling fans, air conditioning/heat etc.
Please close and lock all windows and front door.

- "It was beautiful I would recommend this place, my favorite place I will be back next year." - "Had a great time. Cabin was absolutely beautiful and very clean. Description can be a little deceiving. There is a sandy beach area, but then it completely drops off into the water. No direct access accept from the dock, in which you have to take stairs to get down.....the first set of stairs have no railings. Just a little shocked that the swimming area is in a boating dock area. Not a beach area. The last night there, there were 7 vehicles, 3 of which had boat and jet ski trailers in them with the water vehicles on the trailer, that pulled in. The first vehicle stopped at the roped off area and then drove straight through it....the other vehicles followed. The 7 vehicles were parked all around the "common area" for the rest of the night, not allowing access to the community's fire pit or charcoal grill. I 100% believe more clear signs and a more permanent barrier should be posted. Other than that, the stay was great. Looking forward to coming back, just not in the summer. Prefer a more clean swimming area with direct beach access"

The Lake House has an incredible view of the grounds and the lake. It features 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a full kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, Keurig AND a drip coffee maker and enough cooking utensils, dishes and flatware to prepare meals for everyone. There is a large dining table and a large sectional couch with an armchair for you to relax in too.
We are a pet friendly resort, so please bring your furry friends along! (there will be a small fee.)

One bedroom hosts a Queen Size Bed and the other TWO bunkbeds with twin over Full.

1 GB of WiFi works all the way to the end of the dock, and there’s also Roku Television with Spectrum.

Beautiful Pine Interior Modern Lake-front house on Houghton Lake with 125 ft dock and 50 ft of Sandy beach in shallow waters for the kids to play in. The primary bedroom has a plush king-sized bed with hotel-quality linens, 50" SmartTV, full length mirror, dresser, two nightstands, full closet, and a luggage rack.

Loft space sleeps up to four additional guests on two, new queen-sized beds. Additionally, the loft features a children's reading nook and play area along with assorted board games and children's books. The loft has a full dresser and two nightstands.

Living Room / Great Room
The living room features two new oversized leather sofas that comfortably sleep one person each. The living room features a huge 65" SmartTV with streaming capabilities and a vacation guide with area recommendations.

Bathroom
The bathroom offers a luxurious rainfall shower head and a full tub for soaking. Hair dryer is provided as well as makeup washcloths and plenty of towels. Complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion also provided.

Outdoor space
Kick back and relax on the deck or in the backyard outdoor space. Enjoy cooking on the provided BBQ grill (charcoal) or savor your morning coffee or tea on the deck lounging set. In the evening, enjoy the backyard fire pit with chairs and roast some s’mores under the stars.

Extras
The home comes with a stackable washer and dryer unit with some laundry supplies. Six beach towels are provided for guests. Guests have access to the entire house with the exception of one closet and the garage/pole barn.

The home has a long driveway with plenty of parking and ample space for RVs, trailers, ORVs, boats, or other trailered items. A 50-amp hook-up is available if groups want to share the space with an RV or camper on the property.
