- "Came for a fishing tournament on elk lake. Wives met us at the cabin . We all had a great weekend " - "My son and his girlfriend wanted to get away for a weekend and they asked me to plan a trip. Although I was born and raised in Michigan, I hadn't spent much time in this area of Michigan, After much searching, I found this cabin that seemed to meet our needs. The weekend we chose happened to be an unusually chilly and windy weekend and we are glad this cabin had heat (not advertised on VRBO). There are 4 cabins that are situated right on Thayer Lake. The area does have a large number of residences, but the cabins still felt isolated. The cabins are located between Alden and Bellaire so access to stores and restaurants was easy. The cabin itself was cozy with everything we needed for a weekend. It was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The cabins seemed fairly new or recently remodeled. The size of the cabin was perfect for 4 adults. Although we didn't use them, there were a number of row boats and kayaks that seemed to be available for guests. We saw deer in the mornings and evenings. The host did supply a folder with the wifi password as well as recommendations for activities and restaurants. Each cabin had a firepit available. We never interacted with the host, but I believe that we did see and host and waved as we drove into the cabin. The only constructive feedback I would provide is that if I would have stayed here longer than a weekend, I would have liked a little more cookware to be able to make meals in the cabin. "

- "I’ve been vacationing in this area my entire life and have family that lives in Bellaire. This cottage was adorable and clean, stocked with almost everything needed for a vacation. The decor was so cute and eclectic, the backyard was great for my little kids to play in, and we loved walking to get ice cream in town every night. The road the cottage is on can be busy and the cars sometimes drive fast, so I worried with my little kids. That is no fault of the cottage or owners. We loved our stay here!"

Adorable, clean and well stocked cottage. Clam like is a perfect calm lake to dock the boat while being a fast cruise into torch lake. - "We enjoyed our stay on Clam Lake! The beds were very comfortable, including the couch bed. The house was clean. The owner communicated with us throughout our stay when necessary. The only bummer was we couldn’t use the dock. We brought our boat (with a deep v hull) and were not able to use the boat dock due to low water levels. The dock would probably be okay for a pontoon boat or similar. You might want to scout out ramps when you get there as some are better than others. Most ramps have very little parking nearby so go early to launch! We enjoyed going to dockside, shorts brewing and torch lake beer company. We had a fantastic time at the sandbar on lake torch. Beautiful lakes! Being right on clam lake was very relaxing."

- "We had a great time at this super adorable cottage. So close to downtown Alden which has all the essentials, and only 35 mins to Traverse City where we did an awesome wine tour. The cottage was super cute, clean and perfect for our three night stay. We enjoyed some time on the front porch as well as the back porch. We didn't get to utilize the fire pit but there was one available. The host was very nice and accommodating and we would definitely stay again"

- "Cottage was clean and nicely renovated with great amenities and strong WiFi. Paradise Properties team was awesome and made extra accommodations for parking our boat & trailer. They recommended the Clam Lake boat ramp with channel access to Torch Lake - about 10 mins from the house and less busy than the launches directly on Torch with ample parking. If you're planning to tow your boat up to the Torch/Elk Lakes area, this is a great place to stay."

This is an original log cabin that uses a well for water and has a septic system. We ask that you please be mindful of what goes down the drain. Most of the cabin was recently refurbished; however, it still maintains its original charm and some of the original fixtures. It is well kept and clean but it is on the lake so please do not be surprised to see an occasional bug inside.
There are two 30-foot docks that are available during the stay for personal or rental boats. Kayaks are also available for use with lifejackets provided.
This is a dog friendly cabin and even though we do a thorough job cleaning, if you are allergic to dogs this may not be the best option for you.
The cabin sits on a double lot, so there is room for parking both vehicles and trailers in the yard next to the cabin. The cabin is located about a mile east of Torch Lake and provides access via water.
- "Cute, clean, nice lot, excellant location. Water and dock ideal. Lots of fun." - "Very clean , cute little vintage cottage in the perfect location. Host was amazing, responsive and accommodating." - "Although the cabin is tiny, I have to say it is very well maintained, organized with just enough essentials and clean which I am picky about. The outdoor property is beautiful as well and made our weekend the property is well groomed and again clean and well maintain. We are a family of 4 and my husbands and sons are over 6ft tall cabin was still comfortable. We did spend the majority of our time outdoors and on the boat that we rented at the Marina down the road. Great place for a long weekend."

- "Cottage was as expected and we enjoyed our stay." - "Overall we were happy with the cottage. The price is right for the amenities provided. We did bring our own TV and connected to WIFI provided. The dock worked out great for our boat. I’ll most likely rent it again. Thanks Gary!!" - "Loved the location of the property, very rustic with lots of character. It was quite warm and there is no air conditioning as well as the windows are very hard to open. There was also no microwave. We had a big storm come through and the dock was under water most of our trip, we did bring our pontoon with us and had a hard time accessing and tying off in front of it. We did love the character of the cabin and it’s probably the best location to be at on clam lake with easy access to torch lake. It does say it sleep 5 to 6 but there is not a lot of privacy as their are only curtains for doors. We only had two of us there so it was ok but I wouldn’t try to fit more unless you have young kids."

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning views and the warm, welcoming atmosphere of the cottage. The interior was cozy and beautifully decorated, providing plenty of space for our family to relax and enjoy each other’s company. One of the highlights of our stay was the firepit. We used it to warm the cool fall air while we enjoyed our coffee with a great view of the lake. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed, from a well-stocked kitchen to cozy bedding. It felt like a home away from home, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches that made our stay even more enjoyable.
