- "Quite fun and great location" - "The cabin was filthy and needed deep cleaning. In detail: There were cobwebs hanging places that were obviously many years old. The floor had not been cleaned within for 4" of the wall for years. It is an old rustic cabin which was expect. On day two the rental company called us to check in on our stay. I told them this. They said they recently took on the property for renting but had not seen it yet. They offered me a discount on a future rental. I said that was a nothing they should offer some type of discount on this rental. She said she would check on that. They have not contacted me. Ultimately, we left after two of the three nights that we paid for and found a clean hotel to stay in. I am not one to bother leaving negative reviews but others should not repeat our experience."

Location! Minutes from Elk Rapids, the whole group will enjoy this spacious cottage right on Elk Lake, sandy bottom beach, and large yard. Amazing views of the lake from the open floor plan. Overlooking the private space through the wall of oversized sliders. 1000 sq. foot deck with plenty of lounging and dining areas. Four bedrooms and full walkout basement with plenty of toys! We are currently upgrading furniture.

There is a mooring line out front which made it easy to secure the pontoon boat which we rented from a site on the lake. There is a nice deck on the back of the cottage with a gas grill where we enjoyed several meals around the picnic table. We also enjoyed nightly fires around the fire pit in the front yard. This was a great place to enjoy each others company. I strongly recommend the Burke's cottage to those looking for a similar experience."

Our cottage is tucked away just outside of the beautiful town of Elk Rapids. This home away from home is set on over 110 feet of private shore line on a crystal clear, spring fed, all sports lake. We are on 4 acres of wooded land with protected wetlands along our northern border. We see lots of wildlife including deer, rabbits, ducks, loons, turtles and beaver. Birch Lake is a sandy bottom lake with a gradual slope, making it perfect for swimming. Our cottage provides comfortable sleeping for six. The master bedroom has a queen size bed. The guest rooms have 2 twin beds all freshy made waiting for your arrival. Our kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, utensils, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, stove/oven. Our bathroom has a new shower and has two doors, one connecting to the master bedroom and one for guest rooms to access. Minutes away from downtown elk rapids providing access to the beautiful Grand Traverse Bay through a white sandy beach. This vintage cottage has 2 bedrooms (1 queen/ 2 twin), 1 bath that sleeps a maximum of 6 (sleeper sofa in the living area). Modern amenities include cable/Smart TV, DVD player , wi-fi and A/C unit. Microwave, gas stove and refrigerator in kitchen along with gas grill.

If bringing your own boat or renting a boat, it must be 20 feet or less or subject to written approval by host.

While renters have full use of a private dock, boat must be tied to buoy, in waist deep water near dock during the day. The boat mooring point is not recommended for overnight anchorage as rough waters can occur on Torch Lake and renter must remove boat overnight. We do not allow any boats to be tied to the private dock.

There is room to park one boat trailer by the cottage garage - see owner for more details. The Torch Lake Township public boat launch (must pay boat launch fee) is a block away from the cottage along with another public boat launch in nearby Eastport.

There are even places to visit within walking distance from the cottage. Grand Traverse Bay is located 3/4 mile from the cottage. Walk across US 31 and enter Torch Bay Nature Preserve to visit Grand Traverse Bay beach for swimming and Petoskey stone hunting or take a hike on the Torch Bay Nature Trail. On your way back, visit Torch Lake Township William K. Good Day Park. This day park offers a public dock (boat launch fee), sand volleyball area, basketball court, children's play structure and swings, fire pits and picnic tables. Your visit would not be complete without a stop at Torch Lake Cafe for food and music or Eastport Market for your groceries and gas. All great places near our cozy cottage.

Alternatively, just enjoy the peace and quiet of the cottage, nestled on a hillside overlooking Torch Lake and away from the hustle and bustle of US 31. Enjoy Torch Lake to the fullest thanks to the cottage's close proximity to many marinas where jet skis, pontoon boats etc. can be rented and the lake accessed at the nearby public dock. Head out on your boat for fishing, hang out at the sand bar or even snorkel in the clear blue water.

Not a great day on the lake - try golf. Beautiful A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort, with stunning Torch Lake vistas, is located 10 minutes south. Enjoy 72 holes of golf alongside Torch Lake and Lake Michigan. Courses include the parkland Torch Course and the new Sundance links course (golf architect Jerry Matthews).

Cottage will sleep 4 comfortably, ideal for a family of 4, 2 adults and small 2 children. Very large deck. The loft with king size mattress requires going up a 5 step built in ladder and may not be suitable for some people. All water related toys are welcome, no dirt bikes/ATV's or motorcycles of any kind. You will need to bring your own towels and linens, there are pillows. All cooking utensils are in the cottage, glasses, dishes, knives , forks, coffee maker, toaster, and microwave. NON SMOKING.

- "Quaint little piece of northern Michigan property that is nestled in a quiet and peaceful "Sunset Paradise". The cabin or "carriage house" is small but cozy. A small family of four or less will be comfortable. The main (adult king) bed in the loft is not meant for an older couple as it is a little hard to get to, however it was fun for us. The best feature, by far, are the views of the Western sky in the evening. The sunsets we witnessed left us breathless and tranquil. The sound of waves rolling against the shore, majestic Bald Eagles soaring overhead, butterflies dancing on the wind and the ever present cool refreshing breeze off Lake Michigan was soothing beyond measure. If you want tranquility and need to decompress from a hectic day, please give this tiny piece of heaven a try, you will not regret it. A big hank you to the Borsuks!
