The grill and fire pit was a fantastic amenity to be able to roast s’mores and burgers all weekend. The location was walkable to all the local places and a quick drive to traverse city. The house was clean, easy to check in, had enough basic amenities, the beds were comfy, the Wi-Fi was fast. I’d love to come back to this property."

Bit loud late a night demoing and left the exterior lights on one night that shined into the bedrooms (get some back out drapes for that side maybe?) Also he had a chocolate lab that was often not leashed. (My daughter is scared of dogs). Thankfully he was only there 2 of the days we were there. And know that is outside of the owners control. Please enjoy our quaint crooked little 1885 cottage that was the carriage house for the historic house across the road. Updating completed Fall 2019 with new flooring, cabinets, appliances, windows and bathroom fixtures. We are 100 yards from the beach, river and park. Two blocks to great eateries, Shorts Brewery, and quaint shopping downtown. 10 miles to Flintfields Equestrian Park in Williamsburg, or our many inland lakes, and 18 miles to Traverse City.

- "My husband and I were very delighted with the amenities of this home. The location was peaceful and quiet. The home was a perfect getaway to relax and also venture about to the many areas around Elk Rapids. You will find everything you need to enjoy the comforts of home away from home. The bathroom was the ultimate spa getaway and we enjoyed the shower with a view. We were lucky enough to be there before the cherries trees were shaken for the season and the trees were covered with sweet and tart cherries. It made for some great photos and beautify scenes. Elk Rapids is just a few minutes up the road for that small town feel getaway or if you want the more of busier town Traverse City is about a 20 minute drive. We took a day trip over to Suttons Bay and ran on the trails, shopped a bit and grabbed some food to go. It was a great getaway in the middle of summer."

These units are individually owned and the decor varies from unit to unit. Unit #17 is on the ground level of the North building and sleeps 6. The bedroom has 1 king bed and 1 queen bed with a folding wall that will separate the 2 sleeping areas for privacy. There are 2 bathrooms in the unit one 3/4 off of the bedroom and one full off of the living room. The unit also has a fully equipped kitchen, dining area with seating for 6 and a living room with a queen sofa sleeper. Sunset views over Grand Traverse Bay and use of the heated in-ground pool and on site coin operated laundry area. This unit has private wifi.All of these condo units are strictly NO SMOKING - NO PETS.
We require our renters to be 25 years of age or older.

We used the kitchen a lot this time since most of our favorite restaurants in the area were not open due to the pandemic. The kitchen appliances are okay but for guests like us who cooked at least one meal each day, it would have been more convenient to have newer or at least more usable kitchen supplies. Btw, a couple of pans could have been washed well before it was put in the cabinet as well. And I think it's almost time to change that carpet. Lastly, a small table and two chairs on the balcony to sit on and enjoy the lake view or watch the sunset would definitely please future guests in this unit. Over all, this unit is okay. We picked it not just because of the location but also the extra bedroom option and a second bathroom. "

The frontage is all sand and shallow for a long ways out. Cottage is close to the city of Elk Rapids to enjoy shopping, dining and Lake Michigan beaches. One bedroom with a full bed, one bedroom with two sets of bunk beds and one pull out couch!

Shallow water with sandy bottom was great for 10 year old, while my husband and older boys loved kayaking around the lake. This historic home was stripped to the base frame and completely updated and modernized. We added granite countertops, a marble bathroom, and refinished wood floors. All the comforts of home with a full kitchen stocked with all potential necessities. This home is in outstanding condition. The town is a wonderful close community, and matches your imagination of small town living.

Wake up and go for a jog or bike ride and stop at the local coffee shop and bakery. Restaurants range from sophisticated to casual home cooking. The town is completely surrounded by water with the East Bay of Lake Michigan along the west side of town and Elk Lake to the east. You can travel by boat from Elk Lake to Torch Lake, known as the Caribbean of the North (National Geographic.) Elk Rapids is known for festivals and art fairs, and during the summer on Wednesday nights, the streets are closed for food and entertainment.

This area is an ideal spot to hunt for morel mushrooms in the spring, enjoy the beaches in the summer, do color tours in the fall and ski in the winter. Elk Rapids is a hidden gem in Northern Michigan and once discovered you will be back every year

- "Had everything we needed for a great stay" - "Had a great stay. Love the town and the location was conveniently located. Place was relatively clean, porch and deck had a lot of spiderwebs and debris. The play structure and firepit that were pictured are actually part of the neighboring resort and not part of the accommodations." - "The description of the condo is very deceiving. You couldn't sit out on the deck because the cushions were wet from the ceiling leaking, they shouldn't have cushions if it leaks, and we didn't have internet for 12 hours. The Condo is very dated needs a makeover for the price you pay to rent it. The contact person Tabatha was very helpful and accommodating. Would not recommend this condo."

This upper floor, downtown Elk Rapids 2 bedroom, 1.5 baths. This spot is all about location. There is an attached deck that gives you some privacy for a dinner or to just relax in the morning sun. The views are very nice from this unit. We overlook the kids pond, the harbor and east bay. The best are the sunset views!!! Our kitchen has all the tools you need to cook a fantastic meal. Plenty of room for 4 people for the week.

Welcome to our cottage on the lake! We renovated this home through the spring of '18 and are so thrilled to have it ready for you! Sitting less than 30-feet from the sandy bottom of Bass Lake, this house is a charmer in all seasons. In the winter months, enjoy snowshoeing across the lake and come home to a cozy fire. In the warmer months, this all-sports lake is ready for swimming, fishing, and all things fresh-water. We hope you feel welcomed and relaxed at Little Elk Cottage! @littleelkcottage

KITCHEN + LIVING ROOM:
The kitchen and living room have an open concept. The kitchen is outfitted with all the essentials to make your stay comfortable.

The living room has the comfiest sofa on the planet, two accent chairs, a Samsung Frame TV, and gas fireplace. There's a queen-sized air mattress in the living room closet for your convenience to act as another sleeping spot if you're in a pinch.

BEDROOM 1:
The first bedroom has a queen bed, side-tables, two lamps, closet, and a view to the lake.

BEDROOM 2:
The second bedroom has two twin beds, a side table, lamp, and clothing rack.

BATHROOM:
The bathroom contains a subway tiled shower, hexagon tiled floor, Carrera marble vanity, toilet, and a stacked washer and dryer. The washer and dryer are there for your convenience, so feel free to use them as needed during your stay.

THE LAKES:
Little Elk Cottage sits along the shores of Bass Lake. The sandy-bottom lake is quiet, with most people choosing to bring their boats and water sports to Elk Lake, which is less than a mile to the east of Bass. However, if you'd like to access Bass Lake by boat, the boat ramp and park are directly beside our home!

Elk Lake is another beautiful option for spending your day on if you'd like a larger, deeper body of water. Rent a boat from Elk River Marina and cruise the deep, Caribbean blue waters. Elk Lake has a depth of 192 ft, making it the second deepest lake in Michigan, second only to Torch Lake which lies directly to its east.

To the west of Little Elk Cottage lies the East Arm of Grand Traverse Bay, which is a bay of Lake Michigan. Travel less than a mile into the town of Elk Rapids to find access to the bay and sit down for a picnic at Veterans' Memorial Park after you've picked up lunch at Cellar 152.

The charm of the main street is on the south end of the block and the river and marina on the north end of the block to enjoy the best of both worlds.

As you enter our front door, you will find our front desk. If you are looking for informations about your stay or the area, please inquire with our staff. We are happy to assist you for any travel needs! Beyond the desk you will find our conveniently located elevator and stairs to lead you up to the second and third level rooms. Our main floor also has a full bar with options for beverages as well as a coffee lounge. This offers both indoor and outdoor seating options for you to enjoy!
