Thoughtfully refreshed in 2025, it now features new light fixtures that brighten the space while preserving the cabin’s original rustic charm, a beautifully remodeled bathroom with a spacious shower, baseboard heat, and a king bed and a private outdoor deck — perfect for slow mornings or evening stargazing. The skylights and screened windows bring in soft natural light and breezes, while the outdoor deck offers a peaceful place to relax.

While the cabin does not include air conditioning, we provide a box fan, and the screened windows welcome in lake breezes to keep things cool during the warmer months.

The living area includes a smart TV for quiet movie nights or catching up on your favorite shows, though we encourage guests to enjoy the slower pace of lake life. This is a place to unplug — with minimal modern distractions — just the sounds of the water, the warmth of the fireplace, and the simple beauty of cabin life.

Chipmunk Lodge is one of 9 suites at The Totem Lodges in Indian River, MI. The Lodge is a studio cabin that includes a kitchenette for basic cooking. A refrigerator, microwave, stove and coffee pot with complementary coffee, creamer and sugar are available. Coffee cups, plates, bowls, glasses, pots & pans and silverware are provided for use. A futon couch and kitchen table and chairs complete this cozy studio lodge. A TV and Queen Size Bed provide a cozy conversation and sleeping area. The bathroom has a large shower. The Neighborhood:
Indian River is a scenic resort town at the bottom of Burt and Mullet Lakes. They are both all sports lakes that include public boat launches and beaches. Both the Indian and Sturgeon River run through town and make for great boating and fishing. Indian River also boasts extensive access to Bike and Snowmobile/Four Wheel Trails. Indian River has a vibrant downtown with many excellent restaurants and shops. Our area is known for Multi-Seasonal Hunting and Fishing,. Mushroom Hunting, and our Fall Color Scenery We are within a mile from various attractions: Cross in the Woods, North Central Bike/Snowmobile Trailhead, Big Bear Adventures, Burt Lake State Park with boat launch and beach, the Sturgeon River, and Downtown Indian River.

Located right on Crooked Lake, we're just minutes from Petoskey & Harbor Springs..

This cozy, rustic, log cabin sits lakeside on Crooked Lake. With one bedroom (full-size bed) and a pullout couch (queen-sized bed) in the living area, this is the ideal up-north getaway for a couple or small family. Located just minutes from Petoskey and Harbor Springs, this is a great, central location up north, and on the water. This is one of several cabins and cottages that share appx 200' of waterfront. Small bathroom. This is one of the only cottages in the association with central heat and a washer and dryer for guests. Dockage available for pontoon or fishing boat (only 1 trailer parking area for all cabins, please RESERVE with me before bringing your trailer so I can reserve the parking area, dock is in mid-May through mid-Oct). Cabin is 350 sq ft and features an idyllic setting to enjoy incredible sunrises and great sun throughout the day. No A/C, but great lake breezes. This trail offers a 7.5-mile stretch of scenic 10-foot wide paved asphalt path - great for bicycles, strollers, roller skates, and more. The trail begins at Spring Lake Park on M-119, skirts the shores of four inland lakes, passes through the lakeside hamlets of Conway and Oden.

Crooked Lake is a great all-sports lake with ample year-round fishing, great waterskiing, and lots of areas to explore. Crooked Lake is part of the inland waterway that connects to Lake Huron through Burt and Mullett Lakes. It is a great lake for fishing (year round), kayaking, paddleboarding, or just boating and swimming.

This stunning 125+ year old cabin in Good Hart with private beach access along the Tunnel of Trees is walking distance from Good Hart. Located on M-119, it is just 20 minutes North of Harbor Springs and 10 minutes North is Cross Village/Legs Inn. This is a perfect place to get away from it all whether you want to do a fall color tour, ski, motorcycle, or hit up all the gorgeous beaches this area has to offer. This is a beautiful spot to making some Northern Michigan memories!

**Please note this cabin does not have wifi or cell service (there is service a 5 minute walk down the road in the town of Good Hart) because when you are at the cabin, it time to really unplug! The private beach property is a 10 minute walk away or 2 minute car ride and is one of the most stunning beaches in the area! **

Also, that this is an small cabin. Though it can sleep 6 with an pull out couch, it is something to think about space wise.

Come ride the trails out the back door of the cabin! Cozy cabin located on 40 acres surrounded by state land, centrally located between Petoskey, Indian River and Wolverine with direct access to trails. In the south east corner of Emmet county, the cabin sleeps 6 comfortably. 5 beds (4 twin, 1 queen) are located upstairs and are bunk house style with semi privacy. It offers a fully equipped kitchen, hot shower, 50 inch flat screen TV with DirecTV and washer/dryer. Cellular service is good in the upstairs and outside and we now have TrueStream, high speed internet!! There is a covered patio, with a fire pit for nightly campfires, with picnic tables also. It’s more like 25 miles away via paved roads. Also, the beds were a bit short for those in the 6’ 3” range. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay. Easy check in and out. Enjoy an idyllic getaway in a cozy 1875 Stoneycreek Cabin, believed to be the oldest existing structure on Walloon Lake in Petoskey, Michigan. The cabin, which has been lovingly restored, sits on 150 feet of lakefront on the Walloon’s West Arm, secluded, yet close to all the attractions of Bay Harbor and the city of Petoskey.
With its lake-view queen-sized bedroom, the cabin is the perfect romantic hideaway, but can also be perfect for two youngsters who are agile enough to climb the ladder to the loft with its twin beds. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes stove, refrigerator, micro and toaster oven. The bathroom features a pedestal sink and a stall shower, and a stack washer and dryer is also included. With the cross-breezes from the lake, no air-conditioning is needed and none is provided, but a wood-burning fireplace can take the chill off on a cool evening. Fall evenings can be cold.

The resort is a great location for families. The property has over 300 feet of shared frontage, a large grassy area for children to run and play, and a shallow area to swim. The association also features a swing set, basketball hoop, volleyball net, fire pit, and fish cleaning shed. This fully furnished cottage has a kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, and large deck. Dock has the best sunset views over the lake.

The bathroom was absolutely spotless and all of the fluffy towels were fresh and clean. Both bedrooms had amazingly comfy beds, pillows, and linens. While we preferred to sleep upstairs, the downstairs bedroom provided a nice quiet napping area. The two chairs in the living room by the fireplace were a wonderful place to lounge after walking around all day. I imagine if we visited in the fall, the fireplace would have been amazing as well. Michael was extra responsive and clear with check in instructions, and checking in with us while we stayed to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. We would love to stay at the rental again in the future!"

The cabin is located 5 minutes from Boyne Mountain, a year round resort. 8 minutes to Boyne City and beautiful Lake Charlevoix. Plenty of shopping near by. Our bedrooms have black out shades for better sleeping. The covered deck has plenty of seating for enjoying the beautiful views. Enjoy Betty’s restaurant which is in Boyne Falls for a delicious homemade breakfast or lunch. Petoskey is only an18 minute drive with a beautiful downtown and plenty of shopping plus it’s on the water with amazing views. Gaylord is 25 minutes away where the expressway is located. Mackinac Island is less than an hour away. You won’t be disappointed if you make our cabin your destination. This property is also a working farm which includes owners gardens and chicken coop. The owners are quiet and you won’t even know they are there. They are very friendly tho if you have any questions. The garage is heated in the winter for all your skiis and equipment. You might even be lucky enough to see some wildlife.

Guests are welcome to explore our entire property, which includes several walking trails. You can also easily access a few large nature conservancies from our land. We are surrounded by hundreds of acres of state land, all open for your exploration, with access through our property.

Please respect private property boundaries—our neighbors value their land, and we ask that you do too. We recommend using a navigation app to stay aware of your location and avoid accidentally wandering onto private land.

Private Amenities
While the , axe throwing, jacuzzi, shooting range and archery are reserved for our family’s private use, we’re happy to share them with guests. Please ask before using these amenities, and donations for use are greatly appreciated to help cover maintenance costs. You will receive a welcome email with extra experiances available.

Wilderness Safety & Hunting Season
Our property is surrounded by beautiful state land filled with wildlife, including black bears, coyotes, and other animals. Please stay alert when exploring and be mindful of ticks during warmer months.

🦺 Hunting Seasons:
State land is actively used during hunting seasons. Small game hunting is open year-round, and other seasons vary. For your safety, wear blaze orange when walking on state land during hunting seasons or avoid the area altogether. Always check the Michigan DNR website for the latest regulations.

Important: While we do hunt our own land, guests are not permitted to hunt, or to use any tree stands or ground blinds on our private property.

🔔 Summer Logging Notice:
Selective logging may occur on the back 80 acres of surrounding land this summer. If it happens during your stay, it could lead to some daytime noise. While it’s outside of our control, we’ll keep you updated if any activity is scheduled.

Winter Bookings (Nov 15 – Mid May)
In the winter months, the cabin becomes a true off-grid adventure:

The cabin is located at the back of the property—if there’s snow, guests will need to hike in (possibly with snowshoes).

Our driveway and road can be extremely slippery or icy. If conditions are unsafe, you may need to park at an alternate spot off the main road and walk in. Please plan accordingly.

Heating is provided only by the wood stove—no other heat source is available.

Solar power is limited in winter, so please bring extra battery-powered lanterns and chargers.

All running water is shut down for the season. You'll need to bring your own water or melt snow for basic needs.

Located in one of the most desirable areas of Northern Michigan, a 1939 cedar log cabin located on Route 27. A spring creek with a beautiful waterfall in the front yard that runs to the Sturgeon River across the street.

The property is 13 acres (to the north) available for exploring. There is a 30amp RV plug on the side of the cabin for an additional fee. Pump out and propane in town at the campground. The campground also has a laundry.

Boots are useful as it can be muddy in the woods.

Modern bath(new in 2020) and eat in kitchen. Open concept plan with two beds in cozy nooks, one queen and one double. Living area with seating for 4 and desk. Small TV with Directv, DVD player and a collection of movies, books and a few games. WiFi.

Wolverine is conveniently located directly off of I-75 north of Gaylord, south of Indian River.
Fish in Sturgeon River directly across the street! Kayak launch one mile north in Wolverine Park.
Cabin is within easy driving distance to Burt Lake State Park, City of Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Tunnel of Trees and two ski resorts that offer summer activities. 30 miles to the Mackinac Bridge, Mackinac City and ferry boats to Mackinac Island. Easy access to the UP.

Other things to note
Downtown Wolverine offers a river outfitter offering access to the Sturgeon River via Kayak, Raft and tube, with return transport. The North Central State Trail extends for 62 miles and connects Gaylord to Mackinaw City running right thru Wolverine and can be accessed in downtown Wolverine. This is a hiking and biking trail, but there are also ATV and dirbike trails within 10 miles and thousands of State Forest acres. Burt Lake State Park which has boat launch that can access you to Burt/Mullet and Crooked Lake is less than 10 miles away. Small swimming lake(Silver Lake) within two miles offering space to paddleboard, canoe or bring your small boat.

Haus Camp is a newly built cabin tucked back off the beaten path. Though secluded, you’re only a short drive to town and different adventures within our area. This 20 acre plot of land is a mix of meadow with mature pines and deciduous forest. The cabin is tucked back off a dirt road in between the Village of Walloon and Boyne City. Where we lack in typical utilities, we make up for the off-grid living with incredible hospitality and attention to comfort when it comes to your stay at Haus Camp.

Enjoy the convenience of being close to town while glamping off grid.

To make your stay as comfortable as possible, there is a very clean portable toilet just a few steps away from the cabin (cleaned professionally every week) and solar powered/battery charged lights both inside and outside the cabin.

Guests have full access to the cabin, fire pit, grill, and surrounding area. The cabin is stocked with essentials you may need during your stay, but we also offer add-ons! Check out the “other details to note” section for a list of options.

We use the honor system when it comes to wood for the fire pit. Please know we chop and split all our wood by hand. If you feel so inclined, there’s a box on the right side of the woodshed for donations.

In the cabin is a list of some area favorites. We have a canoe and two kayaks available to rent for use on the nearby Bear River. In the winter you can downhill ski nearby, snowshoe, snowmobile, and sled out the cabin door, as well as ice skate nearby in Petoskey. You can also just stay put in the cozy cabin for a quiet relaxing get away.

Forget your worries in this spacious, serene cabin. Surrounded by woods on 3 sides, this cabin is a unique getaway experience to remove yourself from the daily hustle and bustle. Please note, the wifi is minimal.
This home is located conveniently close to quite a few adventure spots! Only 12 minutes from two Ski Resorts: Nubs Nob and Boyne Highlands. It is also very close to some of Michigan's most beautiful coastline. You'll be a 19-minute drive from Harbor Springs and 25 minutes from Petoskey.

The space
You'll have access to the whole private upstairs of the home, with exclusive access to its amenities. The owners are avid skiers and use the basement floor as a vacation spot. They may or may not be there during your stay. Interaction is totally up to you, as you will have a private entrance with self-check-in/out. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions.
There are three bedrooms. Two are private rooms, each with its own queen bed and closet. The third bedroom is a loft above the living room with a futon couch and its own old-school TV.
The home includes a comfortable open-concept living room/dining room/kitchen. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, a dishwasher, a stove, a microwave, and a refrigerator. The bathroom includes toiletries for your use, as well as a vanity and large tub/shower.

Guest access
You will have access to the whole main floor of the house, the large porch, and the wooded yard.

Parking is available in the driveway and is accessible off the main road. The driveway is tight and steep, so please use caution. If you plan on bringing more than one vehicle, please inform us prior to arrival! So we can ensure parking space is cleared.

The basement is occupied by the owners and will not be available for your use.

Other things to note
A special gem to this stay is the woods around the house. Behind the house is a slightly hidden wooden staircase that will lead you into the woods with a wide hiking trail. For any adventurous spirits, I highly suggest exploring! But watch out for ticks!

Snowmobilers, you're in luck! There are miles of groomed snowmobile trails all around this area of Michigan.

We do not allow dogs. However, the owners do have a dog that comes with them when they stay in the basement. She is shy around strangers and very quiet, so you probably won't even know she's there.

The wifi: trust me we tried to get fast wifi here and it’s currently not possible. We have a hotspot set up at the property to use as wifi. I personally have done multiple zoom meeting at the house with no issue, but cannot guarantee seamless connection. Basically streaming movies can be slow, online gaming is most likely not possible, but with general web browsing you’ll have no issue.

This 1,500sq ft home has a quiet setting and is a half mile south of Boyne Falls. Boyne Mountain is two minutes away! Great skiing, golfing, snowmobiling, biking. The space
Pet friendly! Custom timber-frame cabin was built by my husband, father-in-law, and me with the help from many, many friends. The little cabin is in the middle of a large cherry orchard in the heart of beautiful northern Michigan and is situated on a pond surrounded by birch trees. The love is in the details at this very special place.

Climb a ladder to the romantic sleeping loft and gaze at the incredible northern night skies! Wonderful front porch! Locally made art. Amazing soapstone wood stove for cozy warmth and romantic, flickering fire light.

The small kitchen is equipped with all you might need to make some wonderful meals. Fridge, sink, oven with stove top griddle, microwave. Pots, pans, mixing bowls, utensils, dishes, cups, mugs, basic oils and spices are included. OH~ and coffee maker complete with coffee. 6 person hot tub is shared with the Tall Haus cabin next door.


Towels, bedding and firewood are also provided.

Enjoy acres of Michigan orchard, prairie, and woodlands. The north end of Torch Lake is just a couple miles away. Lake Michigan beaches are within minutes of driving. Ski resorts, breweries (can you say SHORT'S BREWING?), wineries, restaurants, farm markets are all within reach for great day trips.


This property is best accessed by four- wheel drive during the winter months. You could say we are off the beaten path.

This cabin can be rented in conjunction with The Treehouse at Rocky Top Farms- check it out! The Treehouse is near The Cabin, but both buildings have been designed to have a feeling of privacy. There is a wall of pine trees between the cabins.

Please be reminded that this is a working orchard. You may hear ambient tractor noises at various times. There are pigs, chickens, dogs, cats and children who live on the property. There is a lot of nature on this property. If you are not comfortable with maybe seeing birds, deer, bats, frogs and maybe skunks, coyotes, muskrats, eagles, and porcupines…. and other nature, please consider.





You should have 4 wheel drive to access the cabin in winter- I am not joking!!

Guests have access to the cabin and all the trails around the farm. We do not allow motorized vehicles on the property (other than on the driveway) due to liability. There is also a disc golf course on the west side of the farm. Bring your discs, bikes and hiking boots!

PLEASE note: We strongly suggest four- wheel drive in the winter and spring! If you do not have 4 wheel drive, please park behind the first barn. We provide a sled in the gift shop for hauling stuff, if need be. The driveway is quite rugged and off the beaten path. Please consider that northern Michigan gets a lot of snow in the winter and early spring months. That said, we request that our guests have 4 wheel drive vehicles, or be willing to hike the 1/4 mile from the barn to the cabin. We are not responsible for hauling you out if you get stuck. It gets very muddy in spring, hence the name "mud season".
Please also note- there is no internet or wi-fi here. Cell phones generally get good reception.

This family log cabin in the woods sits on the Sturgeon River, close to downtown Indian River and I-75. Indian River has access to the 2 largest inland lakes in the state, Burt Lake and Mullet Lake. You can put in your non motorized watercraft off the small dock and float to Burt Lake, or your larger boat at the nearby public boat launch.

This home is built as a family retreat, perfect to rejuvenate and be close to nature, yet it’s an easy walk or bike ride to downtown Indian River. This is a half hour drive to Mackinaw City, Gaylord, Petoskey, Harbor Springs. There is plenty to do and plenty of nothing to do, hang a hammock by the river, enjoy the sound of the water, read a book or take a nap.

The home has an open floor plan and completely furnished. There is wifi, TV in the living room has Roku and vcr/dvd player. There are movies in the cabin. The large washer is updated and is located in the main floor under the stairs. The full size dryer is upstairs beside the hot water heater.

Pets are not allowed for guests but know that the owners bring their 2 cats and a dog in when they come up. Those with pet allergy must be aware. This is also not childproof therefore not recommended for small kids unless closely supervised, and not handicap accessible meaning must climb stairs to enter.

This professionally decorated cabin has recently renovated from top to bottom including new flooring, quartz and granite counter tops, and furniture.
On the second floor is a spacious master bedroom with a king bed, hutch with TV and private full bath.
The living room has a wood-burning fireplace (with unlimited firewood for renters – no need to bring your own), TV with DVD player and a sofa sleeper that folds out to accommodate two adults. The main floor bedroom is also off of the kitchen and has a King bed, television, and a shared full bath just off the living room.
The walkout full basement provides a great place for a second family to reside during a stay at the mountain. The third bedroom has a Captain's bunk (queen/twin), TV, and DVD player and the forth has another Captain's bunk bed in it. This second living space offers a kitchenette (sink, microwave, and a small refrigerator), sofa sleeper, and an entertainment center for kids to play on rainy days.
There are a stackable washer and dryer in the unit.
Our condo has a gourmet kitchen and amenities include coffee maker, toaster, microwave, refrigerator, range, dishwasher, dishes, cooking utensils. There are lots of windows and an incredible view of northern Michigan from the living room. The unit has a spacious deck with a hot tub that is completely private and available exclusively for our renters.
This condo is a short walk to a ski trail that you can take down to the Alpine chairlift. This property utilizes a chairlift with a lift schedule that weather dependent and is subject to change. Please access the Boyne Mountain website to view the lift schedule.

Even though you’ll be conveniently close to town, you’ll find our cabin is embraced by nature, surrounded by wooded lots on each side and undeveloped state land across the river. Neighbors, more visible in winter, peacefully coexist, and in the summer, the river comes alive with tubers, kayaks, and the occasional angler. Your retreat at Fernside promises a blend of tranquility and adventure.

You will find us down a tranquil 2-lane dirt road with no street lights, creating a dark and peaceful ambiance in the evening. Motion lights at the entrance and along the driveway guide your way. For added security, we recommend you purchase Airbnb's travel insurance at checkout, covering losses related to illness or inclement weather. Be sure to review our cancellation policy before booking.

Shopping is only 10 minutes to Boyne City, 20 minutes to Petoskey or 25 minutes to Gaylord. You won’t be disappointed if you make this your stay

Hatt's Hideaway a 2200sqft large log, custom built log cabin. The builder of the home who designed it used to say it's not the size of your log cabin but the size of the logs in your log cabin. Greg was absolutely correct; it makes for a stunning home.

The space

There is plenty of room in our front entry way to store your ski's and all your winter boots. Build yourself a fire and relax in the cozy living room. Winters here are magical as you are surrounded by rolling hills and tall trees.

The kitchen is fully stocked from pots and pans to spoons for everyone. If you are looking for a night off grab a pizza at BC Pizza or head to the water and eat at The Foundry in town.

You'll probably see a lot of horse and buggies as we share our road with a small community of Amish. There is a Bakery just up the road with Amish made goodies.

Pool is open from early May - September! We try to open the pool as early in May as we can and keep it open all through September. This of course is weather permitting as Michigan can hold a lot of surprises in late spring and early fall.

TAKE A WALK THROUGH THE COTTAGE
A cozy bedroom is found on the main level with an adjoining bath and laundry, which gives a sleeping space apart from the upstairs loft bedroom with another adjacent half bath. If you still need to stay connected with work, there are two great desk areas in the loft to accommodate that, along with another sleeping nook with a twin bed – perfect for extra guest space or an afternoon nap. If that’s not the space for you, the sitting room at the end of the cottage offers a chase and recliner, perfect for your easel, parchment, or a great book. Put a puzzle together in front of the west window; the romance of the lake in front of you is breathtaking. Birches and cedars add depth to the quiet waters of the sunset or a cushion from the roiling daytime surf. As a bonus, this room can be cordoned off with newly installed barn rail doors, giving you complete solitude. Peace abounds if that is your goal.

OUTDOOR AMENITIES
The backyard overlooks the lake and has a picnic table and charcoal grill. Grilling tools, skewers, and grill cleaners/wire brushes are provided. There’s also a seating area around a firepit for use in light/calm winds.

ABOUT THE PRIVATE LAKEFRONT
Shallow water extends outward from the beach at least 100 feet, but the bottom is stony—water shoes make exploring much easier. Bring or rent kayaks for paddles along the shoreline, where you may just spot an eagle. The Big Lake is a magnificent freshwater treasure, but can also be unpredictable; always pay attention to the waves and the skies when venturing into the water. There are also two small (township) beachfront parks within a couple minutes drive (easily within biking distance, too), or you can lounge on the cabin’s 200 feet of private shoreline. Sand chairs, a beach umbrella, and a few float toys are provided.

LOCATION
US-31 is the main highway access, the road that takes you south to Elk Rapids/Traverse City and north to Charlevoix/Petoskey (and beyond!). The residential road to the cabin is known for its scenic beauty, where you’ll want to take many gorgeous walks. Farm markets, fruit stands, orchards, wineries, and casual or fine dining are all minutes away. But do not be shocked or bedeviled if you decide never to leave the cabin where the birds dance among the cedars.

**IMPORTANT: Historically high lake levels in the early 2020s caused considerable erosion; for this reason, we do not allow climbing the cabin hillside.
