This gorgeous cabin is located on an all sports lake and was recently renovated to an open floor plan. The bathroom has a full tub/shower with an endless hot water system. Equipped with dish network, DVD/CD & portable radio & patio fire pit to use. There is a full size charcoal grill on the uncovered brick patio along with a couple of chairs & a picnic table.

The yard is large enough to play games and also has a large fire pit. All of the essentials you might need (including movie rentals, ice cream stand, pizza, hot food, fire wood, etc.) is located across the street.

There is a bike/rollerblade/walking path right outside the front door which will take you around all 7 lakes in the area. A playground is located around the corner and a public beach/picnic area on Sand Lake is about 1/4 mile, restaurants, gas station & additional stores (all along the bike path).

We are located 15 minutes from East Tawas where there is plenty of shopping, piers for fishing, beaches on Lake Huron, putt putt golf, etc. We are also 30 minutes either way from Omer & Oscoda where there are canoe rentals. Hale is 15 minutes away also.

Please note that there are 2 cabins located on the same property which share the private sandy beach, yard and large fire-pit.

- "We booked this 4 day staycation for my youngest's birthday, so it was my Husband, two kids (9yr & 7yr), and myself. I'm so grateful to the owners tips with the driving directions, as we did in fact pass the cabins and turned back around. The lot isn't huge, but we still found a spot easily, and the walk to our cabin (we stayed in cabin #10 with the deck, definitely recommend the deck!) was short and quick. The cabin itself does have some wear and tear, a bit of siding damage, outdated electrical, small plumbing and floor issues...but IT'S A WATERFRONT BEACH HOUSE! Of course there's wear and tear. I found the staff did a great job at keeping things clean. The cabin is very cozy, I think 4 people may have been it's limit, and I got a good laugh squeezing into the small standing shower (for reference I'm only 5'5" tall, and I bumped my elbows, also my yoga came in very handy when attempting to shave lol). But it has great hot water. My kids came in for a quick shower after every swim session, and we never once ran out. The view here is absolutely incredible, honestly breath taking. So who cares if the cabin is on the smaller side, you should honestly be outside enjoying the beauty of this private beach. Visitors were in other nearby cabins, but everyone was respectful and kind. There was a small, open, central storage area with beach toys and chairs to share. I could go on and on about this cabin, but recommend you check it out yourself instead, I promise you won't regret it."

- "It was very pretty and new. Loved the inside decor and outside property. One thing that concered me is there is no ventilation in the kitchen for using the beautiful gas range. We kept on setting off the alarms in the house. If I had any other thing that would be nice it would be a covering outside so you could still sit out in the rain. My husband had a medical emergency and we only got to enjoy the property 1 night and part of a day. It was so upsetting to have to leave didnt even get to have a fire with the firewood i purchased or put the kyacks in the water"

Guests have access to our deck at the water along with hammock and picnic table. Host lives on site and is available whenever home to assist guests with their needs. The property has two other cottages and owners home. There are a lotof trees and not many neighbors. It's quiet and peaceful. We have many many bird species and lots of black squirrels and chipmunks to watch. Lake Huron is a short walk down the driveway for beautiful views. We have a picnic table and hammock at the water front for all guests to enjoy. Bring your bike and take a ride down Baldwin Resort Rd to Tawas Beach where you can take the bike lane all the way to the Tawas Point State Park or into town. This property sits on wooded sand dunes next to Lake Huron. It is rural and quiet. However, because it is next to the lake and in the woods we share our property with nature. We take every precaution to keep nature outside but this is a 1950's style cabin and sometimes nature comes in anyway. Wifi is functional but slow. Not recommended for streaming.

The Cozy Cabin has all that you need while you're away from home, including a full kitchen with utensils and a washer & dryer in 2nd bedroom. (No dishwasher) Relax and sip your coffee (from the Bunn and/or Kuerig coffee pots) in the covered front-porch while deer, turkey, & other woodland creatures pass by. 200 acres of nature are right out the back door!

This property is owned by an avid outdoorsmen, the property is in a central location to return after hunting, fishing and exploring the outdoors! Things to take into consideration:

Being by the water is a beautiful experience, but it may come with outdoor bugs. Pack your bug spray in the warmer months!

The Great Lakes have a midge surge each year for about a week in late spring. While annoying, they are a sign of a healthy lake and are harmless non-biters!
Guest access
You will have access to the two bedrooms, kitchen, full bathroom, and half bath with washer/dryer. There is one locked room that is not available for guests. Outside of the living space you can enjoy yourself in the studio/game room and spend some time outside in the spacious back yard with fire pit and a patio.

Other things to note:

Our home away from home is child friendly. we have a baby monitor and pack and play for your use. We also have a variety of board games and cards.

There are three heating sources available. In the living room, there is a wall furnace, the master bedroom has an electric fireplace, and the bathroom and kitchen have controls on the wall for single room heat registers. The listed bedroom upstairs is heated perfectly by the living room furnace.

We will provide 3 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, two paper towel rolls for the kitchen, and a couple of boxes of tissue.

My teen daughter and her friend LOVED having pool & hot tub time. The extra amenities of the beach & pool house really made this place awesome for all of us. The only thing that I would change is having bedding and towels. I’ll admit I liked knowing my sheets are clean and it made it easier to check for things like bedbugs (there was none of course), but bringing an entire tote full of sheets, blankets, and towels made packing the car and before/after vacation harder. But considering this seems like the cleanest affordable place on the lake, it was worth it! Overall great trip. We also went kayaking on the Au Sable - best river in Michigan for kayaking imo. The kayak rental place is like 10 minutes away, so the location is perfect for any beach bum or outdoorsy person!"

Lakefront Yard Area - open, grassy, a couple trees for shade, gradual sloping down to lake's edge. Total space appx. 4,500 sq. ft.
Road front Yard Area - open, grassy/sandy, sloping slightly near cabin and shed, but the majority of it is level, no trees, great for wiffleball, kickball, or backyard football. Length about 150' from road to shed. Total space appx. 5,000 sq. ft. (not including two-vehicle parking area). If more than 2 vehicles are onsite, the additional vehicles will have to park in this yard area.

Guest access
The entire cabin, lakeside yard area, roadside yard area and lakefront are yours to enjoy! There is a small shed onsite which has a lock on it. Extra fire wood and extra life vests are stored in the shed. There is a key code on the padlock for guest access.

LAKEFRONT AND LAKE ACCESS DETAILS:
Floyd Lake is an "All Sports" lake, meaning all manner of motorized watercraft is allowed on the lake. This applies to you (the renter) and all other private lakefront owners as well as the general public who also enjoy Floyd Lake. Remember, there may be no one else enjoying the lake, or there may be several fishing boats, pontoon boats, jet skis, or other motor craft on the lake. You must exercises caution when accessing the lake. There is a public, DNR maintained, boat launch on the opposite side of the lake. There is no boat launch at or near the cabin.

Additionally, all access near the lake, in the lake, or on the lake, is at the renter's risk. We, the host(s)/cabin owner(s), is/are not responsible for losses or damages to renters or others who are granted access, during the renter's stay. The host(s) is/are not responsible for providing or guaranteeing access to Floyd Lake, or any other water body. Tenant/Renter understands that access to the lake may be restricted or unavailable, and host(s) bears no responsibility for any such restrictions or unavailability.

Guests are responsible for their own safety and well-being while on the property, including on the lake or adjacent areas. The host assumes no responsibility for accidents or injuries that may occur. By booking this property, you acknowledge that you and your guests understand the inherent risks associated with lakefront activities and agree to accept those risks. Lake access is provided, but swimming and other water activities are undertaken at your own risk. There is no lifeguard on duty.

It's 5 miles to the beautiful beach at Tawas Point State Park, or 5 miles to downtown East Tawas to grab ice cream. There is a bike lane along US-23, making it bikable to town.

Only weekly, Friday to Friday rentals in June, July, August. While we lovingly refer to our home up north as "The Cabin" it is far from just a cabin. Cottage on the outside, cabin on the inside, this home has it all! LAKE, ORV trails, a stunning home, and best of all you can bring your fur babies (dogs only - $100 per stay). Ramp to front porch for more accessibility. Pontoon boat (10 person, $400 for the week).
