The Platte Camper - The Platte Camper - This 37ft 5th wheel camper is located on part of our 20 acres of woods. This RV has water, electricity, Heat/AC, a refrigerator, stove top and cooking stove, toilet, shower and other basic necessities. The camper is locates down our rail about 300 ft from the main house and 100-200ft from other campers on the property. There is a shared outdoor hot tub that is available for use. We do have a fire pit just outside the camper. There is a nice trail through the woods.

PLEASE NOTE - This is an older camper in the woods. We try to keep it clean and cozy, but don't expect a plush hotel at a camper price. Most people who understand this leave us great feedback, but those who expect a great hotel room at a camper price are sometimes disappointed. There are many other lodging options in the area that are much nicer, but you also have to pay two to three times more - especially in the prime summer months.

Our spacious artisan crafted Studio apartment is passive solar with hickory hard wood floors and custom trim through out. There is 8 steps going up to a deck and into the foyer with a large closet with cabinets a washer and dryer and tile floor.a glass panel door opens up into the great room with west side round walls with 2 queen size couches which open to couch beds with memory foam for comfort. there is a sleeping loft with a full size mattress / bed a octagon window above it looking out to the northern back yard that has chairs around the campfire and fire wood with a picnic table, hammock, a storage shed with some room for your inner tubes and beech toys . There is also a out door grill with propane tank.
There are 9 steps going up to the back deck and the entrance into the kitchen. The trolley clothes line with clothes pins off the back deck is handy to hang up your wet clothes towels swim suits ect... The full kitchen has a double stainless steel sink a double door refrigerator / freezer, cupboards full of most of the kitchen items that you will need and a electric stove with a microwave above it with Plenty of counter space to prepare and serve food. There is a small bathroom next to the Kitchen with a Mexican sink with petoskey stone and agget counter. Also a cherry wood cabinets with towels linens ect... and a stand up shower and a small western window above the tolit with a cherry stained door with hooks behind it to hang towels clothes ect...
From the kitchen you enter the large open great room with a sturdy hickory staircase leading up to the sleeping loft. There is 4 pull out baskets on each side if the bed for your clothes or items.

The Crystal Camper - 35ft RV Camper located down our trail a few hundred yards from our home. The camper has two bedrooms and sleeps 7. It is equipped with a stove, oven, refrigerator, dual kitchen sinks, Heater, AC, shower, small tub, toilet, TV, wifi, queen size bed, bunkbeds, table bed, hide a bed couch, dining table, chairs and stools. You will also have access to our 6 person outdoor hot tub that is located behind our home and trails through our 40 acres of woods.

Only guests listed in the reservation are allowed on our property (a counting of guests will occur, so please be honest, or an additional $100 per guest/per day will be added and you may be asked to leave).

We were able to spread out and enjoy our own space. The game room was also nice. It features a private entrance, high-speed Wi-Fi, a living room with a coffee table that easily converts to a workstation, electric fireplace, large TV with DirecTV and streaming, full kitchen, dining table, bedroom with queen size bed, a queen size sleeper sofa, full bathroom, and a washer and dryer.

NEIGHBORHOOD:

The property is in a country setting, a couple miles outside of Benzonia, Michigan, which is a fairly typical small town in northern Michigan. There are grocery stores, a hardware store, various other stores, restaurants, churches, banks, and a U.S. post office in Benzonia. The home is just north of the Betsie River and is very close to the Homestead Dam on the Betsie River, which is famous for salmon fishing. Crystal Mountain and Crystal Lake are both also nearby.

THE SPACE:

This is a fully-furnished and fully-finished basement apartment. The property owners (a very nice older couple that serve in full-time local Christian ministry) live above the apartment on the first floor of the home. The apartment has a private entrance, but there is also a locked door that leads to the upstairs of the home. There are some Christian books, movies, and artwork in the apartment.

1) GENERAL: Our accommodations have been dedicated to God and belong to Him. It is our goal to honor Him with our lives and with all that He has given us. This is why our rental apartment is called “The Blessing”. There are a few Christian books and DVD’s on the shelves and a couple of Christian pictures on the wall. If you are comfortable with this, then we welcome you.

2) PET POLICY: Absolutely no pets of any kind are permitted at the apartment! (Please do not bother asking.)

3) NO AIR CONDITIONING: Please note that the property does NOT have air conditioning. As such, it may get warm in the house during the summer if it is warm outside.

- "Slightly hesitant at first due to owners on site but it was overall quiet and private. Many nice touches, clean, and nicely decorated. We had everything we could've wanted in the kitchen. There was a nice selection of movies, books and games. We didn't have time to use them but it was nice to have the option. The beds were clean and came with lots of bedding and blankets. The mattress was firmer then we are used to but it was ok, not everyone has the same preferences with beds. We were a little leary about sharing a house with the owners but it worked out just fine for our family. We did meet the owner when we arrived but that was the only time we saw her. Other than that we could hear some movement and the tv upsatirs but it was in no way a disturbance. Overall the stay was great and we would visit again if we were in the area."

- "The area was absolutely charming. Each morning, my husband and I enjoyed jogging along a neatly mowed lane. There were several walking trails nearby, along with an adorable treehouse and a firepit. The porch had a comfortable seating area, perfect for morning coffee.The yurt itself was clean and offered a unique experience. One of the bedrooms was located in the basement with direct access to a private walk-out patio. The management was kind and very responsive throughout our stay. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable getaway."

Primitive wooded campsite in a Maple-Beach forest. One of four campsites available on this property. They are all about 150 feet from each other. These campsites are about 1/4 of a mile down on a wooded trail on my 20 acres of land. The campsite has its own campfire pit, flat spot for a tent (tent not included) and places to park. Smaller RV's or Popup campers will fit well in this site. Fresh drinking water are available at the beginning of the trail. The port a poty is shared with the other four campsites. There are wooded trails on the property as well.

WIFI is available at the main house near the beginning of the trail.

Making the most of the property's premium location, this vacation rental provides a unique take on an open-concept plan with countless windows, abundant natural light, and custom artwork throughout (stained glass, lighting fixtures, and sinks) all created by the original owner. Snuggle up on the living room's sofa with your favorite blanket and stream a favorite series on the smart TV. There are many board games and cards and gather with the group for an entertaining evening. The full kitchen is equipped with plenty of appliances, counter space, and cabinet storage to help you prepare a delicious meal, and summer visitors will appreciate the private gas grill when they host barbecues with friends. - "We loved the quaint & conveniently located “cabin” tucked in the woods in Benzonia. Very clean & comfortable. Loved the large sectional couch with pullout in the living room & the large dining room table too. Even though there was no A/C, we managed to keep the whole place cool with all the fans provided & opened windows. Would’ve loved a fire pit, but friends had one instead. Easy check in & check out. The space
Our cabin has 2 bedrooms, a loft, full kitchen, and beautiful sunroom surrounded on 3 sides with windows…perfect for watching the wildlife on a quiet evening or enjoying family game night. Our cabin is family/group friendly. It has the warmth of a lake house with the conveniences of home and space to enjoy all your favorite activities. The aesthetic is cozy and simple and you will find it the perfect place for you and your loved ones during your stay in Northern Michigan!

Our KITCHEN and DINING ROOM provide all that you would need for family dinners or cookouts by the lake. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything that you need to dine-in including:

The eating area is right off the kitchen in our open floor plan. Additionally, there is an outdoor picnic table for cookouts and lunches while enjoying the lake or firepit.

As you enter our LIVING ROOM area you will see plenty of space to relax and unwind, whether enjoying a movie in the TV AREA or chatting around the hearth or playing a game.

The TV is equipped a DVD player and there are DVDs available to watch. There are also several board games available.

The SUNROOM is accessible through both sets of sliding glass doors as you move through the living room areas. Enjoy our bench couch seating for an afternoon nap or cozy up with your favorite book. The view of the lake and the serenity as breeze passes though the 3-seasons room make this a favorite vacation spot. As night falls, this room is perfect for family charades or recapping the day. Should you have little ones who head to bed early, the sliding doors are perfect sound barriers to keep noise separated in the house.

As you walk out the back sliding doors to the WRAP-AROUND DECK, there is ample seating. We also have 2 picnic tables which you are free to move to the lawn. Please just place them back when you leave.

The steps lead to the spring-fed, 2 acre lake and diving board. There is a sandy area for playing and sunbathing and the water is cool and refreshing. Another favorite pass-time is catch and release fishing. The blue gill will literally jump on your hook and never seem to tire of any type of bait. We also have small and large mouth bass (please release them after catching!) as well as turtles and frogs. As a caution the turtles love to chase bait too...and can be damaged by hooks. So please watch out for them!

The several acre field is perfect for a pick-up game of kickball or frisbee…and catching fireflies during the summer months. As evening settles in, the firepit is ideal for roasting marshmallows and s’more making…and campfire songs certainly add to the ambiance. On a clear evening, look up! Most nights you can see at least a couple shooting stars. You may even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights, if luck and timing are on your side.

BEDROOM 1 is on the left as you enter the cabin. There is a full-size bed, dresser and closet space. The washer and dryer are also located in a closet in this room.

BEDROOM 2 is off the living room space to the right and overlooks the field. On a summer evening, hundreds of fireflies can be seen from this bedroom. There is:
