The Platte Camper - The Platte Camper - This 37ft 5th wheel camper is located on part of our 20 acres of woods. This RV has water, electricity, Heat/AC, a refrigerator, stove top and cooking stove, toilet, shower and other basic necessities. The camper is locates down our rail about 300 ft from the main house and 100-200ft from other campers on the property. There is a shared outdoor hot tub that is available for use. We do have a fire pit just outside the camper. There is a nice trail through the woods.

PLEASE NOTE - This is an older camper in the woods. We try to keep it clean and cozy, but don't expect a plush hotel at a camper price. Most people who understand this leave us great feedback, but those who expect a great hotel room at a camper price are sometimes disappointed. There are many other lodging options in the area that are much nicer, but you also have to pay two to three times more - especially in the prime summer months.

Our spacious artisan crafted Studio apartment is passive solar with hickory hard wood floors and custom trim through out. There is 8 steps going up to a deck and into the foyer with a large closet with cabinets a washer and dryer and tile floor.a glass panel door opens up into the great room with west side round walls with 2 queen size couches which open to couch beds with memory foam for comfort. there is a sleeping loft with a full size mattress / bed a octagon window above it looking out to the northern back yard that has chairs around the campfire and fire wood with a picnic table, hammock, a storage shed with some room for your inner tubes and beech toys . There is also a out door grill with propane tank.
There are 9 steps going up to the back deck and the entrance into the kitchen. The trolley clothes line with clothes pins off the back deck is handy to hang up your wet clothes towels swim suits ect... The full kitchen has a double stainless steel sink a double door refrigerator / freezer, cupboards full of most of the kitchen items that you will need and a electric stove with a microwave above it with Plenty of counter space to prepare and serve food. There is a small bathroom next to the Kitchen with a Mexican sink with petoskey stone and agget counter. Also a cherry wood cabinets with towels linens ect... and a stand up shower and a small western window above the tolit with a cherry stained door with hooks behind it to hang towels clothes ect...
From the kitchen you enter the large open great room with a sturdy hickory staircase leading up to the sleeping loft. There is 4 pull out baskets on each side if the bed for your clothes or items.

The Crystal Camper - 35ft RV Camper located down our trail a few hundred yards from our home. The camper has two bedrooms and sleeps 7. It is equipped with a stove, oven, refrigerator, dual kitchen sinks, Heater, AC, shower, small tub, toilet, TV, wifi, queen size bed, bunkbeds, table bed, hide a bed couch, dining table, chairs and stools. You will also have access to our 6 person outdoor hot tub that is located behind our home and trails through our 40 acres of woods.

We were able to spread out and enjoy our own space. The game room was also nice. It features a private entrance, high-speed Wi-Fi, a living room with a coffee table that easily converts to a workstation, electric fireplace, large TV with DirecTV and streaming, full kitchen, dining table, bedroom with queen size bed, a queen size sleeper sofa, full bathroom, and a washer and dryer.

NEIGHBORHOOD:

The property is in a country setting, a couple miles outside of Benzonia, Michigan, which is a fairly typical small town in northern Michigan. There are grocery stores, a hardware store, various other stores, restaurants, churches, banks, and a U.S. post office in Benzonia. The home is just north of the Betsie River and is very close to the Homestead Dam on the Betsie River, which is famous for salmon fishing. Crystal Mountain and Crystal Lake are both also nearby.

THE SPACE:

This is a fully-furnished and fully-finished basement apartment. The property owners (a very nice older couple that serve in full-time local Christian ministry) live above the apartment on the first floor of the home. The apartment has a private entrance, but there is also a locked door that leads to the upstairs of the home. There are some Christian books, movies, and artwork in the apartment.

1) GENERAL: Our accommodations have been dedicated to God and belong to Him. It is our goal to honor Him with our lives and with all that He has given us. This is why our rental apartment is called “The Blessing”. There are a few Christian books and DVD’s on the shelves and a couple of Christian pictures on the wall. 2) PET POLICY: Absolutely no pets of any kind are permitted at the apartment! (Please do not bother asking.)

3) NO AIR CONDITIONING: Please note that the property does NOT have air conditioning. As such, it may get warm in the house during the summer if it is warm outside.

The beds were clean and came with lots of bedding and blankets. The mattress was firmer then we are used to but it was ok, not everyone has the same preferences with beds. We were a little leary about sharing a house with the owners but it worked out just fine for our family. We did meet the owner when we arrived but that was the only time we saw her. Other than that we could hear some movement and the tv upsatirs but it was in no way a disturbance. Overall the stay was great and we would visit again if we were in the area."
