The location is perfect right on the waterfront, close to Arcadia Bluffs, and just a short drive from downtown Frankfort, Little River casino, and more. Take a break and unwind and enjoy 80 ft of private frontange on the pristine shores of beautiful Bear Lake. Our frontage is sandy and shallow. Perfect for volleyball, other sports and for litlle ones to play in the water. When you’re done with watersports and playing, relax on the deck or the dock next to the water. We provide three kayaks and a water mat for you to use and enjoy. There is no Wi-Fi or cable, however there is a DVD player, so bring your favorite’s. Bedding and towels will be available for 6 people.

So much to do in and around Bear Lake Michigan. The property is only a 5-minute drive to Pierport and Lake Michigan. Pierport is famous for their artesian spring water spout called Old Faceful. Arcadia Bluffs, and the Arcadia South Golf Courses are a mere 15 minutes from the propert and only 20 minutes to Manistee.
In addition to golf and water play, let’s go fishing! Bear Lake is a fun lake to fish and charter fishing is available in Manistee and Traverse City.
There are some great restaurants including the Roadhouse in Beulah, St. Ambrose Winery in Beulah, and the Arcadia South Course in Pierport. In Mansitee, both the Bungalow and The Painted Lady have great food and atmosphere. Bear Lake has their own gem, The Lakeside Café open from 7:00 – 2:00 seven days a week!

Our rustic/retro cottage kitchen, bathroom and powder room are all updated. Included at no extra charge is the use of our 14' aluminum fishing boat w/outboard motor & plenty of gas, standup paddleboards, kayaks, bicycles, and plenty of firewood for our indoor fireplace and outdoor firepit. Rental Rules: Guest agrees to abide by the Rental Rules at all times while at the property and shall cause all members of the rental party and anyone else Guest permits on the property to abide by the following rules at all times while at the property.

Access: Guest shall allow Homeowner access to the property for purposes of repair and inspection. Homeowner shall exercise this right of access in a reasonable manner.
1. Check-in time is after 4 pm EST and check out 11 am EST

1. PAYMENT – An advance payment equal to 100% of the rental rate is required at the time of booking.
2. CANCELLATIONS – For a 100% refund of accommodation fees, cancellation must be made 60 days prior to check-in. For a 50% refund of accommodation fees, cancellation must be made 30 days prior to check-in. Cleaning fee and security deposit will be refunded 100% if reservation is cancelled before check-in date.

3. MONTHLY RESERVATION CANCELLATIONS – Monthly renters must cancel sixty (60) days prior to check-in. Monthly renters who make a change that results in a shortened stay must be made at least thirty (30) days prior to check-in.
4. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY- The maximum number of guests per cabin is limited to eight (8) persons.
THIS PROPERTY REQUIRES A SEVEN (7) NIGHT MINIMUM STAY; Two (2) nights during autumn, winter, and spring seasons.

5. Longer minimum stays may be required during holiday periods. If a rental is taken for less than two days, the guest will be charged the two-night rate.
6. INCLUSIVE FEES – Rates include a one-time linen-towel setup. Amenity fees are included in the rental rate.

7. NO DAILY MAID SERVICE – While linens and bath towels are included in the cabin, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We suggest you bring your own beach towels. We do not permit towels or linens to be used for lake water or boating, or to be taken from the property.
8. RATE CHANGES – Rates are subject to change without notice.

9. FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS – Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check in.
10. POLICY/ROAD CONDITIONS – No refunds will be given for storms. We recommend four wheel drive and/or chains during the snow months. We DO NOT refund due to road conditions.
11. This cottage is privately owned; the owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.
12. Water and Septic: The Property is on a well and septic systems. The mineral content in the water is high. The well water may have an odor. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products or trash of any kind should be flushed at any time. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the septic system, you will be charged/ liable for damages.

This Unit was completed in April of 2019, The property was designed to be rented to Two couples or a family. Each Bedroom has its own bathroom complete with Jacuzzi Tubs, a separate Shower stall, and a separate toilet section each is identical. The 2 Bedrooms are large with new pillow top beds. The Kitchen is all cedar cabinets with Stainless steel appliances. There is even a laundry room. The den has a Queen sofa sleeper.
Many Golf courses including Arcadia Bluffs three coarse this year(10 minute drive), Wolf River Golf park, Manistee National Golf, Crystal Mountain Golf.
We specialize ourselves with the Many local lakes and rivers for all kinds of water sports activities. Several area hikes biking trails are close by including Arcadia Marsh walk and Baldy. We have easy access to local Snowmobile trails in the winter months, Winter Ski resorts including Crystal Mountain ( 20 minute drive) and Caberfae Peaks (30 minute drive).

So many different beaches, breweries, rivers, trails...it doesn't matter what you are looking for, it's here somewhere, and a beautiful drive away. We stayed for 5 days and couldn't do everything. We listed our favorite places in the guest book. Captain Bob & Kim were so nice and were there for you any time. We highly recommend this place any time of the year. We hope to come back again! Beach/Swimming: You can swim in the lake directly from the property. While kids generally love to swim in front the cottage, they do need to climb down the stairs from the cottage to the dock. There are rocks along the shoreline. There is not a sandy beach on the shoreline, though our lake access is shallow and has a sandy bottom.

Linens: Yes, we provide you with basic sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. If you are particular about the thread count of your sheets, let us know, and we will make sure we leave a bed open for your sheets.

Parking: 2-car MAXIMUM. 2 cars are able to park in the grassy driveway in front of the house. In addition, there is 1 designated spot for street parking (small car). NO CAMPERS/TRAILERS.

Pets: Pets are not welcome at this home.

Privacy/ Neighbors: There are houses on both side of the home. Neighbors are close-- about 50 ft. away. This is NOT considered a "secluded" property. (If you need something more private and secluded, please ask.) The cottage is alongside a busy road. While we have not had any complaints of street noise, that is always a possibility.

Smoking: No smoking allowed of any kind, on the property. Due to the close proximity of the neighbors, it is strictly prohibited.

Space: Two floors, with a circular staircase as the only access to the upstairs. All bedrooms are located upstairs.

Towels: Yes, we provide bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, and beach towels. It's always good to bring extra though.

Washer and dryer (Clothes): YES. Laundry is provided.

Winter Considerations: There is no standard indoor dining in the winter. The only options are the bar stools for 4 in the kitchen, the coffee table in the living room, or the sun porch (space heater for the sun porch is available and heats the space well) We do not provide daily shoveling of the walkways unless by special request. We snow-blow/shovel prior to your arrival. During your stay, if you need the walkway shoveled or snow-blowed, you will need to call/text for assistance. A shovel and salt will be at the property for you to use as well.

Wood: Guests need to bring their own wood for fire pit and wood-burning stove.

Close to so many activities - golf, boating, charming towns, Sleeping Bear Dunes.and Interlochen to see our grand-daughter perform! But most of all the cabin itself was perfect - just as advertised and with so many amenities!! The kitchen had everything we needed to make most of our meals, a huge refrigerator, and all of the paper products we needed, from TP to coffee filters (even coffee), dish and laundry soap. The provided shower wash, hand soap and shampoo was great to have and the hot water never ran out! Our 6 yr old grandson spent lots of time in the lake, the dock was super nice and the beach towels were much appreciated along with the drying rack which was never empty! The coffee maker wasn't working properly and the management staff got a new one to us We absolutely loved our stay and didn't want to leave!!"

Get picturesque lake views from nearly every room. This beautiful house is directly across from Bear Lake public access. Pull up a chair or your boat and enjoy the Lake! There is nothing more modern and updated in the area. This is truly a perfect vacation rental home!

ARRIVAL: There is no formal check-in procedure. Arrival details are sent prior to your check-in date and will include the exact location of the property, parking and entry information. Guests will have a private, secure entrance and the rental is not shared by owners or other guests.

DEPARTURE: We do have a very short checklist we ask renters follow upon departure. It includes making sure the property is left tidy, furniture is in the same place you found it, everything is closed, locked and turned off, and the thermostat is set properly. These items will only take a couple of minutes but help staff immensely.

Please know that all rental policies and house rules are strictly enforced. This includes occupancy limits, age requirements, the ‘no parties’ and ‘no smoking’ clauses or any other rule posted online or within the rental. These are often defined by local ordinances, Homeowner’s Associations or other legal requirements and can result in fines or eviction if violated. We do not provide additional refunds for cancellations, late arrivals or early departures except as required in the posted cancellation policy.

New Moon Lodge is a unique, hand crafted home nestled in the old growth Maples in the hills of Pleasanton Township. Spacious open floor plan with lots of natural light and detailed craftsmanship. New Gas range with caste iron skillet in the center. Full array of cookware and utensils. Full laundry room with new washer and dryer. Cozy bedrooms with organic King bed in one room, new memory gel queen bed in another and a third bedroom with two queen beds. The Lodge is not "toddler proof" as there are open stairways and level changes throughout. Theres a fenced in goldfish pond in the garden. Two decks with seating and tables. Acres of private space surround the home with two campfire areas and a 24x24 paved basketball court. Only one mile from US 31 and less than 10 miles to Lake Michigan. Miles of sandy public beaches for incredible days and magnificent sunsets. One mile from US 31 on county maintained gravel road. AWD vehicle recommended for winter rentals. Lodge is in the 'Lake Effect" snow belt and can sometimes get heavy snowfall.

The Lodge is literally at the doorstep of miles of State Land with undeveloped two-track roads that are great for contemplative walking, biking, birding, hiking, mushrooming or skiing adventures. We rely on mindful and slow drivers on our road and thank you for driving safely. The forest that surrounds the cottage are populated with 100 year old Maples, Ash, Beech, Basswood and Ironwood to name a few of the tree species. Spring flowers are spectacular as well as seasonal mushrooming. - "Close to Crystal Mountain yet quite and relaxing location. Very clean, comfortable beds, and plenty of soft and cozy blankets!" - "Lovely updated with comfortable beds! Close to Crystal Mountain and the Iron Fish distillery. 8 miles to Benzonia and 15 to Frankfort. We road bikes and kayaked the upper platt. The house sleeps 4 but it would be best for a family with small children rather than 4 adults. Living room has a new couch (sleeper sofa) but seats 3 adults no chair. Good value. Would stay again. The large refrigerator does have an ice maker. This home has air conditioning, but it is a lake house built for airflow to cool the home. The home gets a nice breeze from the lake during the summer to keep things cool. There is plenty of parking for all the guests as well as room for boat and trailer parking. ARRIVAL (after 4:00PM): There is no formal check-in procedure. Arrival details are sent prior to your check-in date and will include the exact location of the property, parking and entry information. Guests will have a private, secure entrance and the rental is not shared by owners or other guests.

DEPARTURE (by 10:00AM): We have a short checklist we ask renters to follow upon departure. It includes making sure the property is left tidy, furniture is in the same place you found it, everything is closed, locked and turned off and the thermostat is set properly. These items will only take a couple of minutes but help our staff immensely. Please be aware all rental policies and house rules are strictly enforced. This includes occupancy limits, age requirements, the ‘no parties’ and ‘no smoking’ clauses or any other rule posted online or within the rental. These rules are often defined by local ordinances, Homeowner’s Associations or other legal requirements and can result in fines or eviction if violated. We do not provide additional refunds for cancellations, late arrivals or early departures except as defined in the posted cancellation policy.

The walk out basement boasts a 100" projection movie screen with bean bags, comfy rugs, a foosball table, and plenty of storage for your ski or summer gear. Full laundry is also available so that your winter items are ready for your next adventure on the slopes!

It is our goal that the house be a blend of unique and comfortable, romantic and simple, tastefully decorated and well stocked for all of your needs. The house sits on a 65 acre parcel of Northern Michigan land and it was designed to reflect this stunning property. We also have a log cabin on the property, it is not visible to the house, but there may be other guests enjoying the spacious land.

It’s about 1/2 mile to Bear Lake and not really walkable as it’s a modestly busy highway, but it’s a quick drive and easy access to the various sights of the area. There was a fair amount of construction going on at the adjacent property during our stay, but we were gone most of the day so no issue really. The owner was super responsive and very easy to work with. Very comfy for our family of four and you could easily sleep 2 more. Has all the basics needed - (super cute) cookware, laundry, coffee (thanks for the pods!!), etc. Overall great stay!! Would definitely stay here on our next venture that way."

Road and Mountain biking opportunities nearby. Unlimited cross country skiing on both developed trails, snowmobile trails and backcountry skiing. Other things to note
Bakery Lane cottage is located in the heart of Northern Michigan and a perfect location for so many destinations. It is the site of our former Artisan bakery. We provide private parking for our guests next to the cottage and we keep our own vehicles at the bottom of the driveway. You may notice us coming or going during your stay.
We are off the beaten path with solitude and serenity but within 10 miles of Lake Michigan beaches, local attractions, grocery stores, farm markets and eateries. We have a large organic garden and hoop house and a great love for nature and the cycles of the seasons. In the Spring it is maple syrup season and in the summer we make time for bike rides to Lake Michigan to our favorite spot for a picnic and swim.
