Our cozy, comfortable cottage is for rent on the Sauble river in Lake Countyfor the right individuals. It's the ideal place for someone that wants truly to experience Pure Michiganat its best!! Very secluded area,but offers some many cool things to do! Lakes and rivers are abundant in all directions! With Kayaks available at cottage.Ludington, Manistee, Traverse City, are all within reach also! This place is absolutely immaculate! We would love to keep it that way. Look at the pictures in detail! It is right on the river so summer months the bugs can be hungry! Also the stairs to the loft are somewhat narrow. If interested please contact us! Thanks. We feel it is most enjoyable as a couples retreat. We have a 3 night minimum and our maximum night stay is 5 nights. We can also do a 2 night stay but there will be a $50 up charge. Thank you. We do allow one small dog (25-30 pounds ) and there is a $75 pet fee.

Amazing views of the river. I woke up early every morning and drank my coffee on the deck listening to so many birds and the river flowing, it was so peaceful and calming. The cabin is clean and relaxing and has everything u need! All the extra details and amenities were a plus and thoughtful! Love birds?? They have bird feeders and extra seed incase they are empty when u arrive! A bucket of scrap cardboard to help start your bonfires, Roasting sticks for your marshmallows, plenty of spices and condiments, a coffee bar, a fully stocked kitchen, plenty of bath towels, extra blankets and a guest shed with yard games rafts and extra coolers! There is also a Blackstone! Ive never cooked so much on vacation! Im definitely sold on them and we will be purchasing one for home! check out the dublin general store during your stay! Such a gem and great prices! Great selection of meat for dinner, TONS of beef jerky, we picked up fried chicken to take for lunch at the beach, 2.99 a lb! Lunch meat 4.99 a lb! If traveling to manistee stop at two slices bakery! Great sandwiches and the bread is the best ive ever had! Travel a little north and stop at lake bluff farms and check our the sequoia trees and other mature trees in their arboretum!! This updated 4 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom cottage is located on the big island (accessed by bridge) on Big Bass Lake. The open floor plan and high ceilings give this 2200 sq. ft. home an even more spacious and open feeling even when accommodating many guests. Dual zone central heating and air conditioning allows guests to be comfortable no matter what the weather brings! Wi-Fi available and works from any location in this spacious home! The upper living area features a foosball table, an armoire with board games and cards, a 50 inch Smart TV with Nintendo PS4 Console, bluetooth music system, and a comfortable queen sleeper sofa. The exterior of this home also has much to offer. Patio seating for 5 is available in the rear of the home on the new floating patio. Backyard also offers a pond with fountain and a bridge that allows access to the rear dock and lake area. You'll find 6 kayaks with standard adult life preservers on the platform at the rear of the property available for guest's use. Enjoy a campfire with the fire pit (bring your own wood), Grill up your dinner on the charcoal or gas grill, or relax while your children play on the swings and slide. The front deck with seating area offers lake views in new comfortable wicker chairs. The sandy beach area is located only one house away and offers a great place for the little ones to play in the clean, clear and shallow water. This beach is shared with 4 other neighbors.
We ask that our guests share this area and respect our neighbors when they are utilizing the area. The lake has a shallow sandy bottom that allows for plenty of space for all guests. Bass Lake is an All Sports Lake but from 7:30pm to 11 am the lake is "no-wake". The early morning hours are wonderful for a quiet kayak trip around the lake. From this point forward- guests will be charged for damages should we find staining on our furniture or bedding upon departure. Please also do not sit on the sofas or beds after swimming or bathing as this is leaving water marks on our furniture and making it difficult to keep them in good shape. Watch the salmon run in the fall in small creeks or fish one of our many small lakes. We are also located only about a half hour from Lake Michigan and it's beautiful beaches. Shopping is available in Manistee, Ludington, and Traverse City. Our area also has many ATV and Snowmobile trails and trail maps are available online and in the welcome book at our cabins. This cabin is located approx.45-50 minutes from Crystal Mountain and Caberfae Peaks for skiing and snowboarding. We are located 45 minutes from the Little River Casino and our area hosts the Hoxeyville Music Festival Annually as well!

Very clean, had plently of items that we brought (just in case) that we never needed due to the accuracy of the listing. Host was amazing and always responded in a prompt manner when asking a question. This year we chose Big Bass Lake. It was by far the most relaxing time we've had. The cabin was very spacious, and clean. Theres not a whole lot to do within 30 miles, so if your a person that likes to run into town daily this may not be the place for you. However it was perfect for us. (We did go into Ludington and Manistee for a few hours during the rainy/gloomy times). This was our first vacation where we didnt want to go home 🙃 The lake is a no wake from 7pm- 11am so nights and mornings were quiet and were great on the kayaks. We took our boat and docked it durning the day the kids had a blast at the beach area, along with tubing and fishing. Lots of wildlife everywhere, it was awesome. Seen some things we've never seen before. If we went to the same place every year we'd definitely be back! Thank you for sharing your home with us."

Fully furnished and all kitchens utensils. The cabin is located 5 miles from the Dublin store which has a hardware store and food! Truly an up north getaway. The fishing and hunting in the area is great. You can hike from the front door to the forest.

The house is tastefully decorated with nice furnishings and décor. It contains all you'd need including linens, towels. There is plenty of outdoor entertaining space on patios and deck, fire pit and down by the lake.
The home has a real wood fireplace, dishwasher, washer & dryer, coffeemaker, microwave and good quality cookware. We also have a new clubhouse, great for overflow, games and entertaining.
We have listened to our guest comments and this spring are installing new steps to the lake, a new foosball table and finishing the clubhouse with electricity and loft area.

Beautiful view of the lake from the huge screened in porch that seats 8 or the massive deck! Harper Lake is an "All Sports" lake for fishing, rowing, water skiing, ice fishing, and relaxing. It is just a mile from the Little Manistee River. Significant towns in the area include Traverse City, Manistee, and Ludington on Lake Michigan, and Cadillac, Big Rapids, and Grand Rapids inland. This is truly a cozy cottage that comes fully furnished! We have plenty of lawn chairs, rafts and floats!

I paddled around the lake and they have by far the best and largest beachfront and lake access. We took day trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leland and Traverse City. We also rented a pontoon boat from Loomis Landing. It was the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. We hope to come back again!"

The space
To enhance your outdoor experience, the house offers a fenced patio that provides privacy and while enjoying the river views. It's an ideal spot for relaxing, hosting intimate gatherings, or simply unwinding in the embrace of nature. The cottage offers a master bedroom with a king bed and a picturesque view of the river through the sliding glass doors and walk-out deck. A second bedroom offers privacy and comfort with a queen and twin bed off from the dining room. The living room, kitchen, and dining area provide a space for gathering and entertaining in the colder months with a tranquil view overlooking the river. The third bedroom is detached and features a knotty pine interior with a full bed and a twin bunk bed. While it is detached from the home and located in the garage, it has a wall heater and will keep you comfortable throughout your winter stay.

Other things to note
There are many nearby lakes and rivers to explore and enjoy, including the Big Sable River off the back deck of the cottage. The North Country Trail is a half mile down the road with breathtaking views of the Manistee National Forest, including a beautiful bridge over the Big Sable River a short walk away.
The cottage is a great base camp for exploring the many miles of ORV trails Lake County has to offer. For fishermen and women, there are countless lakes and some of the best trout rivers in the state nearby with steelhead and salmon runs. For winter adventures, snowmobile trails are closeby, and skiing at Caberfae Peaks Ski & Golf Resort is a 30 minute drive. If you are looking for lakeshore beaches, Ludington and Manistee offer some of the best freshwater beaches in the country.

Direct access to Big Bass Lake is available to you through Heritage Bay park which is located about 1/2 mile down W. Bluegill Drive. Here you will find tennis and basketball courts and a walk in access to the lake. Dock access is located on the south west end of Big Bass Lake, off W. Bass Lake Rd.
Close to the home off Freesoil road, there are hiking and biking trailheads for those interested in hiking and biking in the summer and cross country skiing in the trails. Also, pets are not allowed on the property.

The camera records video and sound when activated by motion. It will record when it first senses motion and 30 seconds after the last motion is detected

- "We loved everything about this cabin! It was beautiful, well maintained, and cozy. We stayed with our children and friends and we had plenty of space. We appreciated that it was well stocked (paper towels, toilet paper, towels, extra soap). The outdoor deck and fire pit area were awesome and we did make use of the grill. Mark was super helpful and gave us lots of good suggestions. We would definitely stay here again!!"

Jackson's Trails & Tails is now available for our friends who are ready to enjoy the beautiful Little Manistee River and everything that is "UP North". This 2-story cabin has undergone a fresh renovation throughout including an addition of a main floor master bedroom / bathroom and has an open floor plan with 2 full baths + an additional 1/2 bath and laundry room. Enjoy WIFI via Starlink, Cell service, fit pit area w/ some wood provided and a beautiful new screened in porch. Fully stocked kitchen, Flat Screen TV W/ local channels, cable & streaming, A/C and an electric fireplace all nestled around a cozy up north knotty pine feel. The cabin sits on a level bluff with an easy walking path approximately 50 yards to the riverfront deck.

This property offers some amazing and challenging river Kayaking, world class salmon, Steelhead and trout fishing, 750 miles of connected snowmobile trails and hundreds of miles of groomed ORV trails, thousands of acres of hiking, biking, hunting and very close to some of Michigan's best downhill and cross-country ski trails and Lake Michigan is only 35 minutes away. Irons is known for being an outdoor recreation hub!

You are 5 minutes from Bass Lake - Natahka, 25 minutes from Caberfae Peaks / Coyote Crossing, 45 minutes from Ludington, 35 minutes from Manistee and Little River Casino. One hour to Cadillac and Traverse City, MI. You are surrounded by 1000's of acres of National Forest for hiking, fishing and hunting everything from mushrooms to sasquatch. Fishing & kayaking opportunities abound out your back door. We have kayaks and canoes available. A beautiful screened in porch allows you to enjoy sunsets, nature and all the peace of the river, without the bugs / mosquitos. This cabin will check all the boxes for rest, relaxation, technology and many awesome memories with family & friends for your Northern Michigan Adventure. Come relax and unwind at the river!!!

Note: This property has several beautiful taxidermy mounts from the owners' adventures. If you are not a fan a taxidermy / animal mounts, this is likely not a good rental choice for you. There is no bathroom upstairs and the steps to the upstairs are somewhat steep and may not be suitable for senior adults or children.
This property is most comfortable with a maximum of 6-10 individuals, Ten is also the maximum we allow for any rental group - no exceptions. Propane stainless steel grill & Blackstone griddle provided.

Private RV spot 4 miles off M-55 in Irons, MI with your own septic connection. Situated in the heart of the Manistee National Forest & Lake County trail system, nice location to park and enjoy campfires and quiet time, or visit the numerous lakes in the area. Little Manistee River and Tippy Dam within a few miles. Only 20 minutes to Manistee, 30 to Cadillac and 35 to Traverse City. The bedroom/bath are not offered but required by VRBO; this is only for an RV camping spot. Plenty of room to bring your boat or snowmobile.
