The chalet provides rooms with air conditioning, free private parking, and free Wifi. Location, Location, Location! The chalet is centrally located, with easy driving to many of the north shore's popular attractions. Nordic & Alpine skiing, wineries, hiking, golf and more:

There are 3 bedrooms and 5 beds which can sleep 8 comfortably.
This is one of the few cabins on the northshore which is completely climate controlled. There are Mini-Split air conditioning and heating units in both living rooms and in all bedrooms. In additional, there is radiant heat running through all rooms.
Additional spaces include an open concept main living area with vaulted ceilings and a window wall with a gorgeous view, a sunroom, and a downstairs living room with a big screen tv, pool table and dart board. From here there is a sliding door walk-out to the outdoor firepit
The chalet has parking for 4-5 vehicles, WiFi, in-floor radiant heat in all rooms (zone controlled), air conditioning and comes with a rack of firewood.

“Sled-in, Sled-out”, enjoy Lutsen’s Snowmobile trail system managed by Lutsen Trailbreakers located on the property giving you access to 100’s of miles of groomed trails along the North Shore. Trailer parking located at the bottom of Ski Hill Road managed by the DNR.
Less than a mile up Ski Hill Road you will find the Superior Hiking Trail, Poplar River waterfall, and Jackpot/High Climber Mountain Bike Trail. One mile down Ski Hill Road and you can connect with the paved Gitchi Gami State Trail system with over 34 miles of finished trails connecting you to downtown Lutsen and Tofte.

We worked with local Architect Carl Gauley from GraySpace Architecture to design something unique that will connect you to the natural environment, give you space to spend quality time with friends and family, is just fun to be in, and provides luxury and comfort that can’t be beat! We followed “Dark Skies” lighting requirements on our property to maximize your stargazing and Northern Lights viewing experiences. All exterior lights are “down lights” and were kept to a minimum. Please bring flashlights if desired.
Our main living area includes the Kitchen, Dining Area, and Living room. One large open area with more than enough space for everyone to make memories, play games, cook large meals, relax in front of the gas fireplace, watch a movie on the 65” smart TV, use the binoculars to see what mother natures is doing just outside your floor to ceiling windows, or curl up and read a book.
The main bedroom includes floor to ceiling windows, private balcony, California King bed, dresser and those little Scandinavian touches that welcome you in.
Our second bedroom includes a custom log queen over queen bunk bed and dresser. The bedding and mattresses throughout the cabin will give you a perfect night's sleep so you are ready for whatever adventures await you.
The loft includes 2 full sized beds and are accessed from a Ships ladder in the main living area. Floor to ceiling windows, custom railings, and amazing views make this space fun for everyone.

Cedarwood Hollow rests at the very edge of a private cobblestone beach on Lake Superior. Located halfway between Lutsen and Grand Marais, Cedarwood sits adjacent to Cascade River State Park along a quiet stretch of Cascade Beach Road. This authentic timber-frame chalet has been completely renovated to retain all of its original charm of a bygone era, while updated with all the modern amenities — including a 48" Italian pro-style gas range in the kitchen. Offering an abundantly spacious layout, the Great Room is home to a wood-burning fireplace, dining table, game table, and picture windows so close to the Big Lake that its waves practically lap at your toes. The master bedroom has a king bed overlooking the water, allowing guests to fall asleep to the soothing sound of lapping waves. The 2 full bathrooms are outfitted in spa-like fashion with oversized deep-soaker tubs. With the 2nd and 3rd loft bedrooms, one outfitted with a king bed, the other with a queen — and a sleeper sofa in a private corner of the loft — Cedarwood can comfortably sleep 8 adults.
Outside, a beachside patio sits elevated just above the cobblestone shore. A pro-style gas grill makes for easy outdoor cooking and gathering. As idyllic as the Cedarwood Hollow is, the cabin itself is only the beginning …
Cedarwood is situated in the heart of the most legendary and spectacular section of the entire North Shore. Except for a few private parcels of land right along the Lake Superior Shore, Cedarwood essentially sits in the middle of pristine Cascade River State Park. Hundreds of miles of Sawtooth Mountains trails (hiking in the summer, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter) are accessible right out the front door of the cabin. Cascade Lodge Restaurant & Pub is an easy 1-mile walk and features great food, drinks, and frequent live music. A trail leading to Cascade Falls is just 1.5 miles from Cedarwood's door. And within a 30-minute drive, everything the North Shore is known for is accessible: world-class hiking, fishing, kayaking, biking trails, skiing, galleries, restaurants, NorthHouse Folk School, and a vibrant live music scene. Ranging in size from 1 to 4+ bedrooms — and all sitting along the easternmost stretch of coveted Cascade Beach Road — NorthLight's properties are located halfway between the grandeur and skiing of the Lutsen Mountains and the charming harbor town of Grand Marais. Nestled in the woods on the shore of Lake Superior, this home provides everything the North Shore has to offer. The house features sweeping lake views from all three bedrooms, a creek and bridge, two private pebble beeches, kayaks, and beautiful trees. Located in Lutsen, Minnesota only 15 minutes from Grand Marais. The house has heated floors, North woods art from local artists, comfortable beds, and unique architectural features. Perfect escape for weekend away or special occasion.
The space
The house has two queen beds, two twin beds, and one sleeper sofa, as well as two bathrooms- one with a walk-in shower and one with a tub shower. The first floor has a large screen porch, and the second floor has an open air porch with a view of the lake as well as an deck. There is ramp access to the main floor of the home. The house also has two televisions, a record player, board games and a telescope. There is a fire pit by the lake, and trails to explore as well. We have berry patches, rhubarb, lupine and other wildflowers throughout the property. We are also lucky enough to have one of the only pebble beaches on this part of Lake Superior. At night, you can hear the waves as well as the small creek that runs through the property.
Our parents were married on the this property in 1989 and built the house a few decades later. We are so excited to get to share this special place with you.
