Our chalet is situated in a quiet location and family oriented. We are not a venue for events or parties of any kind so while we welcome guests attending events off site, only registered guests( those listed in the rental agreement) are permitted on the premises.

This traditional Quebec chalet is nestled at the base of Vorlage ski hill, a mere five minute walk to Wakefield center village. Light filled and spacious with living area spread over three floors this chalet accommodates 10 persons comfortably. The main floor features a great room with cathedral ceiling with comfy sofas and high efficiency wood stove. The modern kitchen has breakfast bar and stools and stainless appliances including dishwasher, a separate dining area overlooking the ski hill. Masterbedroom conveniently located on main floor and a powder room. French doors lead to a spacious deck with year round hot tub. Second floor features a loft space with sleep sofa and additional bedroom with queen size bed. This incredible post and beam ‘eco’ house was built in the 1970s with century’s old beams from a barn in Renfrew, salvaged river rocks and lumber. There’s no other house in the world quite like this one.

Renovated in 2022 with modern touches throughout, this country house is ideal for entertaining and relaxing.

We LOVE to cook, so on the main level, you'll find a fully equipped chef's kitchen with a large island and bar seating for 3. Brand new appliances include a new dishwasher, Nespresso coffee maker and smart refrigerator with built-in speaker and touchscreen TV.

The main level continues with three spacious living areas; a sofa lounge with two single sofa beds, a wood burning fireplace (wood is provided complimentary for your use) and Smart TV (streaming services like Netflix included) and a dining area with a travertine dining table that seats 6-8.

Also on the main level is a powder room, as well as a bedroom with a queen bed. This bedroom has a desk and office chair if you need to work “from home”.

On the intermediate level is a sitting area with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the garden. This space is great for board games (pick one from our extensive library!) reading and lounging with a drink. Enjoy your morning coffee here as you watch deer, fox and birds wander through our garden!

The TV on the main level is on a swinging arm so you may watch it from any space on the main or intermediate level.

On the upper level are two large bedrooms. The main bedroom is exceptionally large with two spacious wardrobes, a king bed and a Smart TV. The second bedroom offers a queen bed, dresser and desk.

A large full bathroom on the upper level includes a shower, bathtub and brand new washer/dryer.

The kitchen opens onto a 3-seasons outdoor living and dining room, fully enclosed by bug screens and with outdoor heaters and lots of lighting for your comfort. This gazebo space opens in May. Outdoor sofas seat 8-10 and the outdoor dining table seats up to 8. In the summer months, we also have a swinging chair in the porch area. A propane BBQ is provided.

The house has Fibre Optic high-speed WiFi throughout and enjoys full mobile service on all major networks.

The house also has air conditioning and fans throughout.

Art and antiques throughout the house were collected on our travels throughout Europe and the Mediterranean.

The space
Welcome to Lodge Maloney! Our family's primary home which we love to share with guests during the times of year we are not enjoying it for ourselves. As it is a place that we make memories together as a family, we want our guests to be able to do the same, and also treat it as if it was their own. We are located on a very popular and deep lake. Perfect for boating activities and swimming. Our cottage is the perfect place if you are looking for a lake side experience and family getaway. You can enjoy the beauty of nature, and our unbeatable lake front views. Parties are not permitted and the limit of maximum 10 guests is asked to be respected at all times otherwise everyone will be asked to leave.

Main living space: The main floor includes the living room, dining room, kitchen, sun room and rec room. The front room has a great view of the lake. We have a smart TV so our guests can stream videos/Netflix. The dining room has a 6 seater dining table . Full high speed Internet so you can even dare I say work from the lodge with no better work view than sitting at the outdoor patio to send some emails.

Kitchen: Our kitchen is equipped with all of your basic cooking necessities: fridge/freezer, stove, oven, plenty of cupboard storage for dry foods, pots, pans, cooking utensils, cutlery, plates, cups, mugs, keurig coffee pot, oil & spices. If there is something you are curious about whether we have or not, please don't hesitate to send us a message!

Bedrooms: There are 3 sleeping spaces in the cottage with 3 queen size beds, bunk beds and twin air mattress if needed all on same 2nd floor. There is a portable (window) air conditioning unit in all sleeping spaces so your sleeps can be as comfortable as possible!

Bathroom: There is 1 full bathroom on the main floor and 1 full bathroom on 2nd floor. We provide a set of towels for our guests. Our cottage runs on a septic system and so we just ask our guests to be mindful of this. There can be nothing aside from toilet paper put in the toilet. Anything else will damage the system.

Outdoor patio: We completely refreshed and painted our outdoor patio last summer so everything is like new! It includes and 6 seater dining table with an umbrella, fire pit with Adirondack chairs and a propane BBQ. We ask guests to help us keep it in the best condition possible.

Pets: We generally don’t accept pets however it can be discussed with host. They should be hypoallergenic, and maximum of 1 per stay. If you do plan to bring a pet, please confirm what type and breed in your inquiry request.

The location: We are conveniently located just 4 minutes away from grocery, gym, rink and 1 min from Deppaneur that is fully stocked. We are also close to many of the attractions the Outaouais region has to offer:

Our four season cottage is on a beautiful lake in Val des Monts, Quebec, just 40 minutes from downtown Ottawa. Twenty minutes from Edelweiss, Mont Cascade and Vorlage ski hills as well as to P17 Gatineau Park. Nakkertok trails are ten minutes away.
The wooded area offers privacy and swimming off the end of the dock is deep and weed-free. There is plenty of room for a large family. Large property with three outdoor fire pits. Wood stove inside. Fully equipped kitchen.

The space
For winter, there are two adult and two child-sized snowshoes, toboggans, firewood.
We have four kayaks and a canoe and lots of floaty toys so that you can explore the lake and maybe even the island with the jumping rock. The path down the hill to the lake has a fire pit for star gazing and marshmallow roasting. Trees surround you and provide lots of privacy. Up at the cottage, there is plenty of deck and sunny spots to enjoy a barbecue and cocktail. There are woods for exploring - keep an eye out for the turkeys and deer.
Inside, there are four good sized bedrooms. The wood stove is lovely on a chilly day. The kitchen is fully equipped.
Downstairs has a wet bar and a retro entertainment system (lots of VHS tapes for the kids and adults). We've got an assortment of toys and games for rainy days.

A few important things we ask:
Out of respect for the neighbours, please no outdoor noise after 11pm. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the lake.

Please always check and adhere to any municipal fire ban.

We have occasional dog and cat visitors.

There is no public boat launch. If we have a motor boat in, it is not part of the rental.

In snowy months you will need winter tires.

Composting and recycling are required as part of a municipal by-law.

The tap water is good for drinking, and we have lots of glasses and cups (including unbreakable ones for outdoors). No need to bring water or plastic cups.

Situated on a private lot, on a pristine lake (Lac Rheaume), this house is located just 40 minutes north of downtown Ottawa. Enjoy very clean waterfront and deep swimming off the dock. The space
Our lakefront home has modern comforts, but still has real cottage character with a large stone fireplace, pine cathedral ceilings, hardwood and slate floors, and a cedar shake walled screened in porch overlooking the lake.

Our full-sized kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster along with the standards of fridge, stove, dishes, pots and pans and most kitchen utensils to prepare meals.

The cottage has 2.5 bathrooms.

We have one 30' x 8' deck overlooking the lake and the other 12' x 12' with a medium sized propane BBQ at the back side of the cottage. There are 2 fire pits on the property.

New in 2024 is an outdoor 6 person electric sauna.

The waterfront dock area is a fun place to spend the day with deep, clean swimming that is over 20' deep off the end of the dock. Guests have use of a canoe, double kayak, single kayak, 4 paddleboards (3 full size and one for juniors), 14' aluminum fishing boat that can also be used as a row boat and life jackets.

We have a sand badminton court up near the cottage area that people can also use to play fun volleyball (best with a beach ball.) We have a partially finished walkout basement with a bathroom, bonus 4th bedroom with double bed and open games area (with pool table/ping pong table, bean bag toss, and cards/board game table).

The trade-off of to the spectacular high lookout views over the lake and deep swimming is a steep hike down to the waterfront. We would not recommend this property for people with very young children or with mobility issues.
