(Housekeeping standards must include ensuring linens are crackling dry b4 folding & stuffing them away in a closet to grow spores if they are damp.) And why is it that some hosts think one fitted bottom sheet & a pillowslip is a 'set of bed linens'? Whatever happened to the top sheet? Gives me the heebie-jeebies sleeping under just a 'duvet cover' with no topsheet separating my skin from someone else's body residues--especially in these days after CoVID. Bedsheets are laundered after each guest; duvet/comforter cover is not ever washed with such frequency. I watched the room being made up while I was leaving... lo & behold! Bottom sheet was changed I believe (don't quote me on that tho') but it was the same duvet cover straightened out on the bed, unchanged for the next guest. No top sheet again. Ugh. I wonder how many guests go through that one duvet/comforter cover without it ever seeing any washing & drying to sanitize it? North American living standards should be adhered to in North American accommodations, even in a high-end hostel. Which is what this is: a HOSTEL, despite it trying to pass in the posting for a motel of sorts. Stayed 1 nite bcuz too late to find anywhere else. Refunded for 2nd nite after hours-long disagreement."

Guests have access to the entire cottage and property with the exception of the small barn, greenhouse, and other small horse structures.
Other things to note
We welcome dogs, but unfortunately, due to allergies, WE CANNOT ACCEPT CATS.

There is a security camera above the front, outside door. It only covers the driveway area and audio is turned off. It is used for security when nobody is at the house.

This is a country home, so some things to note are:

-The house has some small quirks that add to it's charm, but may be different from city homes
-In spring, summer, and fall there may be mosquitos and other insects that can bite, so insect repellent may be a good idea. While there are screens on all windows, insects may get inside from time to time when doors are opened and closed.
-Note that we live on a dirt road, so there may be dust and some potholes/bumpiness on that small stretch of the road before our driveway.
-We use well water, which is tested and safe to drink. It may taste different from city water, so if you prefer to drink bottled water, it is available at the nearby market.
-Water pressure in the home can be variable. Only one shower can be used at any one time and if you run water using appliances such as the dishwasher or washing machine while showering, pressure in the shower will drop.
-There is a sump pump in the crawlspace under the house that runs periodically throughout the day. This is nothing to be concerned about, but you may hear it from time to time. It just keeps groundwater out of the crawlspace.
-Walls are not very well sound proofed on bedrooms/bathrooms
-There is no fenced yard, so dogs need to be kept on leash or well-supervised and children supervised.
-There is anpath through the forest behind the house, but it is very natural and the first part is wetland and can be very wet and muddy depending on how much rain we've had, so rain boots may be needed. There may also be logs to climb over in places, which adds to the adventure, but may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
-This is a country home and we try to leave things as natural as possible to provide homes for pollinators and other Woodland creatures. We allow natural wildflowers to grow and only mow areas that are essential.

Built in 1886 this centrally located heritage semi-detached is eclectic, cozy and thoughtfully furnished with an eye on comfort and style. Tongue and groove touches, stained glass, hardwood floors and loads of local art.

Centrally located just perfect for a single traveller, a couple, a couple with children or 2 couples who know each other well.

The ground level incudes a living room, dining room, full eat-in kitchen and small back deck. The hardwood floors are original as are some of the tongue and groove walls and ceilings. It can have a bright feeling in the morning and cozy feeling later in the day. Walk upstairs to the front bedroom which faces West, then through the office into the second bedroom and on to the tiled bathroom.

The layout upstairs is a bit quirky, befitting a 137 year-old home, with one full bathroom accessible through the second bedroom which is why we suggest you be comfortable with your travel companions.

Beautiful new home built by myself 6 years ago. In the heart of the beautiful village of Chelsea Quebec. Near all the amenities, gatineau park, nordik spa, restaurants, stores and much more. Biking path is right near the house and leads to the village.

The loft has a large bedroom with a queen bed, a second room with a window where there is a sofa bed (double) and a full bathroom with shower. A third sofa bed is available in the living room thanks to the modular installed.
The living room, kitchenette and kitchen are open concept with cathedral ceilings. Its beamed ceilings offer a rustic and modern decoration while providing a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere. Three huge windows provide great light and offer a view of the beauty of Lake St-Pierre.
The loft easily accommodates 4-5 people. On request, a high chair and a playpen can be provided. The kitchen is equipped with two induction cooktops, a small cooking oven, a microwave, a dishwasher and a fridge to facilitate the preparation of meals. A BBQ is also available on the outside balcony during the summer period. A heat pump with air conditioning makes the loft comfortable all year round.
On the property grounds, you will have access to a beautiful living area with a spa (open from 10h00 to 22h00), a patio set, garden furniture and a gas fireplace.
Two kayaks, two paddles boards and safety vests will also be at your disposal as well as access on the water's edge. The use of safety belts is mandatory for the use of boats (kayak et paddle boards).

Welcome to students, interns/coop and contractual workers. Getting around our neighborhood is quick & easy with an excellent BIKE SCORE of 99 (Biker's paradise), very good WALK SCORE of 82 (most errands can be accomplished on foot) and TRANSIT SCORE of an underestimated 65, I assume it should be above 85 since we have 5 bus stops nearby.

We live in a mostly bilingual neighborhood (French & English), being neighbors of Ottawa had influenced our culture. You will have access to all basic services within a 15 minutes' walk. We are mostly a federal & provincial government town and have many attractions and parks to discover in the National Capital region.

Our house is located in right in between both UQO universities in the Hull sector of Gatineau, Ottawa's neighbor. We are extremely well located if you plan to cross the river. Carleton and Ottawa Universities are a 15 minutes bus ride on off-peak hour. The University of St-Paul is 20 minutes away. The Byward Market is a 10 minutes ride. The 4 bridges leading to Ottawa are all within 5 to 7 minutes drive. We have an excellent public transportation system. Some school student fees usually include a bus pass valid in Gatineau and Ottawa.

Note that we have a light & easy wireless vacuum beside the washing & drying machines, works really good and it's always charged. You will also find a scale for luggage near the entrance. This apartment was made with student accommodations in mind. A working desk with a comfortable chair will let you work many long hours. We are very comfortable with serious foreign students, coop, internships, teachers and contractual workers of any country. Within 500 meters, we are surrounded by both UQO universities (Taché + Lucien-Brault) in Gatineau (Hull sector) and Universal College. Also nearby is the Mexican UNAM university (Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico). Many students from St-Paul University, University of Ottawa and Carleton have enjoyed our place while saving money. Living in Ottawa is more expensive compared to Gatineau.

Large kitchen for those who love cooking
Our kitchen is fully equipped with dining table, large fridge, stove top/oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, rice cooker, counters and an integrated laundry room. We supply salt & pepper and some spices. You will find a fire extinguisher at your knee level next to the stove and a larger unit on the wall of the rear entrance. Uber and other food delivery platforms are active in our region.

A clean house for peace of mind
Our space is smoke free. You can only smoke on the balcony outside. We clean the communal spaces regularly. Housekeeping cleaning products are included during your stay. We can also clean your private room upon request (35$ optional).

We live in a very clean city and region. Our tap water is safe to drink and tastes pretty good! There's always a filtered water jug in the fridge with a brand new Brita filter when you arrive. We encourage good habits for recycling and composting. We supply all garbage & biodegradable composting bags. Plenty of recycling bins are at your disposal.

The bedroom is equipped with a descent sized 32" smart Roku TV with all the apps you need such as YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Crackle, etc. The living room TV is connected to an Apple TV with a Netflix and Amazon Prime Video account. We are equipped with the fastest internet optic fiber connection with unlimited bandwidth on a secured business 1Gb network, great streaming at anytime.

Discover our winter with snow season from December to April
We are 5 minutes away from the National Gatineau Park. Our home is located at the exit of the Promenade du Lac des Fées which offers 4 biking/walking paths within 2 minutes walk. The National park facing our house offer biking/skiing paths. Cross our street and here you go, ready to ski the Gatineau Park with approximately 15km of paved tracks leading to the small picturesque village of Chelsea, Québec. It's specially beautiful in fall, winter and summer.

Experience our local nightlife!
We are located near the Vieux-Hull downtown entertainment district (2Km) & the Ottawa ByWard Market nightlife district (3Km). Since this is a private apartment with private entrance, you can allow yourself coming late without disturbing anyone. A driving service is available until 4am and multiple local taxi service are 24h. For the mature guests, Ottawa-Gatineau has many museums, theaters, parks and other interesting attractions.

Visiting the big cities while you're here
You can't come to Gatineau without visiting Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto or even New York, just 2 hours away by plane! Let us guide you with our suggestions. Our region offers a bus station, a train station and an airport, all ready to take you where ever you wish to go to make your stay a memorable event. Most of these trips will cost you less than $500 for a weekend (AirBnB accommodations, transportation and basic meals).

At last, security first!
The entire house is heated by electric base boards and hot water radiators. The smoke detectors are connected with the main floor system, all directly connected to a monitoring station with battery back-up.

A wireless 24/7 camera is installed in the rear parking lot. Every entrances are well lit. There's 2 fire extinguishers, one next to the stove at knee level and a large unit on the wall by the rear entrance. Being in the National Capital region and neighbor to Ottawa has its perks! Five (5) polices forces secure our region which has a very low crime rate.

A full operational kitchen is equipped with a large fridge, oven, stove-top, small toaster oven, toaster, rice cooker, blender, microwave, water boiler and Keurig coffee maker.

We have a side garden terrace and 3 balconies with chairs and table.

You can lock your bike outside near the entrance. We have 2 bicycle available for rental.

We gathered all small household items at our "Central Station" in the hallway. You will find the first aid kit, extension cords, USB power back-up, hair dryers, stapler, play cards, emergency tampons, etc...

Under the kitchen sink, you will find a bucket with all cleaning products that you can use anytime you need it.

The BBQ is available upon request (June to September). The side garden terrace is great for avoiding full sun.

We offer a secured storage for empty luggage at no extra cost.

You will have access to a Wireless Airprint HP Printer (print/scan/copy) from any wireless device. Download the HP app to scan. My full service print shop is on the floor below.

Our Bluetooth speaker/wireless charger will let you play your music and charge your phone in the kitchen while cooking.

During your stay
We will meet you upon your arrival unless you wish to check-in yourself. You can access the apartment with a unique door code which also open the bedroom door.

We offer a personal driving service with our 5 door Mercedes family car. We can pick you up or bring you back to the Ottawa airport ($40 per trip), Ottawa Via Railway train station ($30 per trip) or Greyhound/Voyageur bus station ($25 per trip).

I can guide you to the best local restaurants, bars and nightclubs. We are located near the Vieux-Hull downtown French entertainment district (7 minutes), the English Ottawa ByWard Market nightlife district (10 min), the Little Italy sector (10 min) or in tthe Ottawa the China Town (10 min). Since this is a private apartment with a private entrance, you can allow yourself coming late without disturbing anyone.

Other things to note
Public transportation:
OC Transpo bus card, including those with a U-Pass or PRESTO card, will work on STO (Société de transport de l'Outaouais) buses in Gatineau. OC Transpo and STO have an agreement to accept each other's passes, allowing riders to travel seamlessly between Ottawa and Gatineau.

Our winters are rather cold (December to March). Temperatures can reach as low as -30 Celsius degree and averages -10C. By law, cars need to be equipped with winter tires from December 1st till April 15th.

After snow storms, we will need to plow the parking. If you have a car, we may ask you to move it or we can move it for you ($5).

Summers are nice with average temperatures of 22 Celsius, sometime humid. We supply and install the air conditioners in late May/early June until late September/early October. We get a lot of rain during spring and fall seasons.

The speed limit on surrounding streets is 40km/h. The speed limit on St-Joseph and Alexandre-Taché boulevards is 50km/h. Our higways limit is 100km/h

5 Bus stops are within 2 minute walk from the house. The rapid transit is operational in Gatineau, the O-Train in Ottawa is brand new and crosses the city while avoiding traffic.

This apartment is on the second floor. Be aware of the 20 steps of the stairwell leading to the 2nd floor.

There's in no bathtub, only a shower.
