This home offers heated floors in the sunroom and bathroom. The main area, composed of 2 bedrooms and a living and dining room, features original and authentic pine wood floors and ceilings. The spa is also available for you enjoyment and is located in the back balcony overlooking the lake.

The well-water is drinkable. There is a dishwasher, washer and dryer available to use.

In the winter, we strongly recommend traveling with an all-wheel-drive vehicle and winter tires as the cottage is located at the bottom of a hill. All vehicles are appropriate in the summertime.

Detailed review: We wanted somewhere remote and close to nature for a week and this seemed to fit what we wanted from the posting. We arrived late in the night and had some difficulty locating the house (The host gave me exact coordinates to the door so that one is on me). My maps took me to the other side of the house and there were people there, so I thought there was a mix-up. Some of the pictures in the posting are shared spaces like the Sauna and boat house. We were alone for my stay, except for the first night, so we had the whole space to ourselves which is how we like it. If you're social and looking to interact with other people then those are great spots to hang out. The house itself was very spacious and clean. There was even a high chair put out for my baby which I appreciated. There were also children swings and many other things that children would love. There are 3 bedrooms big enough for a couple and one big bathroom/toilet with a tub. There is also a kayak and life vests for adults to use. If you need groceries or food, the closest spot is about a 10 minute drive away, so you probably need a car to stay here. I loved my experience after all is said and done and would recommend it."

My only negatives are the digital concierge we were told to refer on a regular basis to for check in, check out, wifi details etc. didn't exist and when I emailed twice about it I received no response - we were not able to access any wifi while we were at the cottage. The only other negative is the mattress in the bunkie, it is more like a mattress pad and is not possible to sleep on (I used one of the mattresses from the bunk beds). A real mattress should be put in there as it is a great space otherwise. Had a wonderful experience and would definitely go back again."

This place is beautiful in all seasons. In summer as in autumn the colours of nature are magnificent, especially when you go on a pedal boat ride to admire the sunset. In winter, you can enjoy the magnificent snow-covered landscapes, in the comfort of the chalet, near the wood-burning fireplace while watching a Neflix movie, or if you crave some outdoors, go ice fishing or snowmobiling on the frozen lake. Not to mention the beautiful ski slopes less than 10 minutes by car.

The lake water is ideal for swimming, fishing, kayaking. There are some weeds in the shallow areas of the lake, but that's to be expected on a lake as it's not a man-made beach. If you want to swim, you can jump directly from the dock or take the floating gear for a nice sandy beach 2 minutes away.

The space
This family cottage away from civilization can accommodate up to 6 people (3 double beds, 1 single bed, 1 bunk bed, 1 sofa bed). The interior of the chalet is made of wood which adds a lot of charm and character to the place.

The cathedral ceiling cottage is open plan and includes: two bedrooms, a loft, a kitchen, a large dining table, a laundry room and a bathroom. The living room will allow you to relax in front of a good fireplace, sitting in a rocking chair or lying in a soft armchair with a good book in hand.

If you are looking for a chalet to surf the internet and work remotely with a fast internet connection to Wi-Fi, unfortunately this is not the destination for you. The cottage is in the heart of nature. The cellular network is weak and the Wi-Fi connection is slower when multiple devices are connected, allowing you to disconnect and fully enjoy your nature stay with friends or family.

The location for making a fire outside gives you panoramic views of the lake in the middle of the forest. You will also find a covered veranda and, on the terrace that runs along the cottage, a barbecue to prepare good grilled food.

During your stay, don't be surprised if you encounter birds, squirrels and probably even deer. This place is beautiful in all seasons. In summer and autumn: the colors of nature are stunning, especially when you go for a kayak ride to admire the sunset. Situated on a picturesque lot with hiking trails, 12+ acres of forest land to explore. Our log home is a getaway from the city and you can enjoy what nature has to offer. This charming space secluded in the woods has everything you need and more! It's an ideal cottage for an extended family and friends in all seasons!

The space
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT OUR COTTAGE:

- The log cottage sits on the banks of a long and beautiful Le Lièvre River (Rivière du Lièvre). Perfect for kayaking and canoeing as its flow is calm. It is 6km long North of the cottage and 30km long South of the cottage. It features beautiful landscapes, mountains, islands, wildlife and beaches. The river has more than 12 kinds of fish found in it - It is a paradise for fishing small and largemouth bass, walleys, pikes, marigans, perchs, trout etc.

- The water near the entrance of the dock area can be muddy and sometimes a little grassy depending on the time of the year. We still find swimming refreshing and enjoy it very much. However we do like to make aware our potential guests in advance so that they come prepared with water shoes. Each summer (End of June) we put the dock on the water and each fall (End of September) we bring the dock on back on the shore and prepare it for the winter.

- Our cottage is waterfront but the dock and water area is about a 1 minute walk away. Its nestled in the woods with forest views from the house. The main chalet is secluded in the woods (can't see any neighbors from the chalet). However, when on the dock, our neighbor's dock is visible.

- The log home is very spacious - 4 large bedrooms with 5 beds, an open concept kitchen and living room area and two full bathrooms. There are also two sofa beds and air mattresses available to accommodate extra guests. The master bedroom has a California King bed and a crib and a walk-in closet & a large balcony. The cottage is complete with a fully equipped kitchen, satellite cable, washer & dryer, towels, camping chairs, fire pit, propane BBQ, a kayak, canoe and fishing rods, indoor and outdoor games and so much more. The cottage is very comfortably furnished with comfortable porches and hammocks to enjoy the greenery. At night, enjoy stargazing without the distraction of light pollution and s’mores near the firepit.

- Our water supply comes from a nearby surface well. It's perfect for bathing and washing but we don't recommend it for drinking. We normally leave 5 gallon containers of drinking water from our Ottawa home and we have water dispensers. We recommend guests bring bottled water.

- Our cottage area is normally very quiet. However the 309 is across the river on the other side and you may hear some traffic.

- Since there's a city dam a few km down the river, the water level does rise and fall at various times of the year. The water can be quite shallow near the dock area. We do have a beautiful nearby beach at royal papineau (only 12 min away). It's $15 per car on weekdays and $28 per car on weekends. It offers not only a large beach, but beach volleyball courts, a restaurant, pool and other activities.

- We have other cabins on our property that our guests are welcome to explore, however they are not routinely maintained and therefore we do not recommend guests staying in them.

- Since our cottage is nestled in the woods, critters and bugs may be part of the experience. However our cottage is well screened to prevent them from coming in. We routinely lay mice traps in various areas as well. Bring bug repellent especially during the summer months.

- We currently do not have curtains in any of the rooms. The room that gets the most sunlight is the kids room with the two twin beds. We prefer no curtains as it's beautiful to wake up to scenic nature views and the sun doesn't shine in so bright in the mornings that it wakes you at dawn.

- We have doors for every room except one room upstairs (we're hoping to get one up shortly).

- Our place is a smoke free zone. We kindly ask that our guests respect this and do not smoke inside or near our property.

- Our place is pet friendly with permission prior to booking. Pets are allowed but we ask that you disclose it to us prior to your stay so that we can provide the necessary information about pets on our property.

- Since our septic tank sits in the back of our home, no vehicles should be driven in that area. We have plenty of parking in front of our front door (non grassy areas). 5 cars can easily park there.

- This is our second home so please treat it like your own. Guests are encouraged to have a wonderful stay, however it is not a party house. No parties, events, or extra guests without our knowledge. We do not permit smoking inside or near our home.

The space
Honey Bear Cottage is a small paradise, situated in a private wooded landscape with 400 feet of shoreline on quiet Lac du Chevreuils (non motorized). The cottage is Ideally suited to couples or families looking for a quiet getaway in a relaxing natural setting.

The traditional cottage features an open concept kitchen and dining area with a rustic harvest table to enjoy family meals, a living room with an enchanting wood stove, and a large bright covered porch with a view of the garden and lake. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking and dining wares, key appliances, and basic spices and condiments.

The cottage holds 3 spacious bedrooms, with a king bed in the large master bedroom loft, a queen bed in the second bedroom, and a trundle bed (two twin beds) and 3 junior bunk beds in the third bedroom. All linens for the king bed, queen bed and one twin bed are provided for your stay, as well as towels and soaps. Please note that you will need to bring linens for the second twin bed and 3 junior bunk beds if you plan to use them.

Enjoy a nice family meal or lounge on our spacious covered porch while feeling the breeze, listening to the birds, and taking in views of the garden and lake.

Outdoors you will find a BBQ, and several seating areas for you to enjoy your surroundings. Spend the days reading and relaxing in a hammock, and cozy up by the bonfire on cool summer evenings.

In summer months enjoy sunrises from our large lakefront dock, fishing in the afternoons, or nighttime stargazing. The lake water is beautiful and clear, ideal for swimming and watersports. We have 2 kayaks, a canoe, a pedalboat and lifejackets available for our guests to use. We also have a floating water mat, offering hours of family fun!

Throughout the year you can enjoy walks on our property or on the long cottage road. During fall months become entranced by the spectacular autumn colours that surround you. In winter, snowshoe right outside our front door across the property or on the frozen lake, and then cozy up by the wood stove with a hot chocolate or glass of wine.

An ALL-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE and WINTER TIRES are essential in winter months to access the cottage. Roads leading to the cottage are plowed, however winter weather is often unpredictable with snow and icy conditions. We ask guests to take care while driving to /from the cottage and while spending time on our property. Guests are responsible for their own safety during their time at the cottage.

Other things to note
Honey Bear Cottage is a NON-SMOKING environment. Guests will be fined if there is any evidence of smoking inside or on the premises.

The space

Downstairs is where you find your master bedroom. This room has a king size bed and 3pc ensuite bathroom with a stand-up shower. There is a large dresser and small walk-in closet for storage. You will also find your laundry room on this floor.

On the patio there is a built-in hot tub, and BBQ with propane provided.

The lake is steps from the rear patio. Nice sandy beach with a large firepit. Enjoy the detached boat house on the lake with a rooftop patio - great for beverages with an amazing view!

Guests have full access to the cottage, property, and waterfront during their stay. On the day of arrival, guests will receive an access door code to enter the cottage and start their stay.

We provide four parking spots, you will find two parking spots on each of our driveways.

SEPTIC: As we have a septic system, we kindly ask that you only dispose of biodegradable items down the pipes, such as toilet paper and human waste. Please refrain from flushing non-biodegradable items, including baby wipes, sanitary napkins, toothpicks, and other similar materials. Instead, we provide a waste basket in the bathroom for your convenience.

NUMBER OF PEOPLE: To ensure the comfort of all guests, we allow a maximum of six people on the property at all times. We are located on a residential lake, and excessive noise or parties are not permitted. As a reminder, the lake has a no-motorized boat policy to preserve its purity and reduce noise.

WATER: We use lake water for showers, tap water, and other purposes. However, we have a water filtration system with UV light for the tap water, and we provide drinking water from a natural spring in the water cooler. Large bottles for the water cooler are provided.

FIREWOOD: We ask guests to bring their firewood. Bags of wood are available at the intermache.

We are a 5 min drive from Arbraska Laflèche, 12 min from Wakefield and 15 min from Mont Cascades. We are also surrounded by many hiking trails & 30 mins from the Downtown Ottawa.

We love to host guests at our family cottage to experience the beauty of our private lake and Val-des-Monts. Our place is perfect for a family or small group (max. 6 guests at all times)

The space
*Winter months (November-March)* a vehicle with AWD is necessary to access the cottage.
The lake does not freeze fully and cannot be walked on.

Welcome to Casa Madera! Our family's second home which we love to share with guests during the times of year we are not making memories there ourselves. As it is a place that we spend time together as a family, we want our guests to be able to do the same, and also treat it as if it was their own. We are located on a private and very quiet lake. Parties are not permitted and the limit of 6 guests is to be respected at all times. We ask our guests to leave the space as they found it upon checking out.

Main living space: The main floor is an open concept living space which includes the living room, dining room and kitchen. The living room has an amazing view of the lake. We have a Chromecast connected to the TV so our guests can stream videos/Netflix from their devices. The dining room has a dining table. We have high speed internet so working from the cottage if needed is also an option!

Kitchen: Our kitchen is equipped with all of your basic cooking necessities: fridge/freezer, stove, oven, microwave, pots, pans, cooking utensils, cutlery, plates, cups, mugs, drip coffee pot, oil & spices. If there is something you are curious about whether we have or not, please don't hesitate to send us a message!

Bedrooms: There are two sleeping spaces in the cottage with three queen size beds. The main floor has a private bedroom with one queen size bed, and the upstairs is an open concept loft with two queen sizes beds. There is an air conditioning unit in both sleeping spaces so your sleeps can be as comfortable as possible!

Bathroom: There is one full bathroom on the main floor. We provide a set of bath towels for our guests. Like most rural properties, our cottage runs on a septic system and so we ask our guests to be mindful of this. There can be nothing aside from toilet paper put in the toilet. Anything else will damage the system.

Outdoors: We have a 6 piece dining set w/ umbrella and a propane bbq. The outdoor fire pit and Adirondack chairs are available on the patio for guests to enjoy. *Please note, use of the fire pit is conditional on weather conditions and municipal fire bans*. We provide guests with some complimentary firewood to get you started, and more can be purchased at the nearby supermarket.
We have a kayak and peddle boat for use on the water.
*May*: The outdoor patio set, bbq and water vessels are not available as we had a late winter and the snow has not fully melted outside.

Pets: If you do plan to bring a pet, please confirm what type and breed in your inquiry request. Pets are not permitted to be on the furniture, and must be kept on a leash while outside. We ask that pets are not allowed to use the main lawn as a washroom as it will damage the lawn.

Please follow the road signs once entering the cottage road and respect the speed limits posted (30 km/h going down the road and 10 km/h as you near the cottages) as there are young families with children who live on the lake.

Other things to note
There is a small cottage road in front of the property that separates the main house from the water/dock. It provides access to six cottages up the road and ends in a cul de sac.

Our entire outdoor patio space is brand new. We ask guests to help us keep it in new condition.

The space
This two storey updated cottage combines traditional core style along with modern upgrades. All four seasons provide a new relief from the bustle of the city; find an appreciation for the buds of spring, spend a week in the crystal clear water in the summer, watch the leaves turn from our expansive deck in the fall and lace up your skates and enjoy your own private skating rink before relaxing by the fire in the winter.

The main open plan kitchen/living/dining area is south facing with bright sun flooding the space, overlooking the beautiful clear water of Lac Bataille. Bright, brand new white quartz countertops bounce the light throughout the living space as natural materials accentuate the connection with nature. Lots of seating and wide surface spaces are perfect for playing games, setting out your charcuterie board or just putting your feet up. Put on a record, light some candles and enjoy the retro glow of neon signs, salt lamps and the wood burning fireplace.

BEDROOMS, BEDS, AND LINENS:
The primary bedroom features a vaulted ceiling, a king sized bed (to watch birds from) and wrap around windows providing you excellent views of our very own beach. The secondary bedroom also boasts lake views, a queen sized bed and a vaulted ceiling. Our third bedroom (also with vaulted ceiling), loving named the Toucan room features two solid bunk beds for a total of four (4) singles, the final space to sleep is our Queen sized pull out couch on the lower level (2). The Moss Rock is well equipped with fresh linens for each available bed (sheets, duvet, duvet cover, pillows, pillowcases). *Due to COVID, if you’re more comfortable bringing your own pillow, we recommend doing so. *

KITCHEN:
With stainless steel appliances and lots of storage this open plan, fully equipped kitchen will be a delight to cook in whilst being part of the action. You can keep your eye on the dock as you prep lunch before eating on the deck. The full-size kitchen includes everything you’ll need for cooking and food preparation. However, if you’re looking for something specific, please reach out and confirm if we have it. Overall you can expect the basics: dishes, cutlery, cooking utensils, aluminum foil, Tupperware, cooking oil, condiments, salt and pepper, coffee filters, coffee machine, microwave, fridge + freezer, filtered and drinkable lake water, stove, dishwasher & dishwasher tablets.

BATHROOMS:
The Moss Rock has two full bathrooms. We offer hand soap, along with all the necessary linens (bath mat, hand towels).

ENTERTAINMENT:
On the upper level you will find a frame tv, connected to Netflix, Crave, Apple Tv+ and Prime for watching movies. You will also find a large mirror ball and spotlight for those disco/karaoke evenings.
On the lower level, you'll find another cozy living space, complete with a wonderful, magical mural that adds to the vibe of the room. It’s equipped with a TV (with Firestick to stream Netflix, Prime, etc) vintage Nintendo games console for fun on rainy days or in the evenings, along with a retro X-Men & Streetfighter Arcade game for some nostalgic gaming. Guests can also enjoy a selection of board games and cards, as well as a snooker/pool table. Additionally, there are yoga mats and a small selection of gym weights available.

HOT TUB:
A large 6 seater hot tub is nestled perfectly half sunk on our deck for ease of access and at ideal height for staring out at the lake but still keeping privacy. With disco lights, whirlpool feature and waterfall, the Hot Tub is a hit with guests. Switch between hot tub and lake… beautiful.

BBQ:
Instructions for the BBQ can be found in our cottage manual. We strongly suggest you read them before usage. We provide you with two propane tanks that should last your entire stay with some to spare, if you run out and require more, we ask that you do this at your own expense.

WOOD FIRE:
We have an enclosed outdoor fire pit at the Moss Rock. This is the ONLY place where you may have a fire. Please be cautious and put out the fire before going to bed, with water. There is firewood under the carport. We will inform you if there is an active fire ban - if there is, there are NO fires permitted at all.

GAS FIRE:
We also have a gas firepit, located on the deck for our guests comfort.

WOOD STOVE:
There is a wood stove in the living room, if you wish to use it please read the directions in the cottage guide and watch our “how to” video. Using a wood stove requires attention to detail and there is a learning curve. The stove is supplemental heat on top of our baseboard heaters. Please let me know if you have questions about how to use it. Using this improperly may result in a fire.

THE LAKE:
We are lucky to be situated on Lac Bataille, it is an extremely clean and clear lake and we invite you to take care to keep it that way. We ask that you do not put any chemicals in the lake (i.e. soaps) and if you are bringing water crafts to assure that they are clean. Now let’s get to the fun part. Our cottage provides a shallow beach for those who prefer to wade in and a large dock for those who want to swim without touching the bottom. Our shallow, rocky bay is protected by a series of small islands, these prevent motor boats from whizzing through the bay and are perfect to swim to and explore. There are two (2) kayaks and (2) SUPs and one (1) two person Canoe for our guests to use. Please treat the waterline with respect, the less it is disturbed the more we can all appreciate the natural wildlife.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
Moss Rock is on a holding tank, due to this we try to reduce water use as much as possible. Please be mindful of how much water you use.

We are open to allowing dogs to vacation at the Moss Rock too, however this must be a conversation with us prior to booking. Light cleaning at check out required, no smoking inside.

We welcome families and friends who are looking to escape the city and enjoy some quality time together. This cottage is not suitable for parties. We are looking to rent to mature adults who are kind and respectful, tidy, and considerate. A cottage is a lot of work, and so we ask you to treat it gently so it can be enjoyed for many, many more years.

Other things to note

CELL PHONE RECEPTION:
Cell phone reception is not the strongest at the Moss Rock. The best service can be found in the primary bedroom (by the window). We have found that turning on wi-fi calling is the best way to make sure you don't miss a call.

INTERNET:
You are here to relax and unwind but we understand that you still need to check your emails and social media (don't forget to tag us @mossrockcottage) we are VERY happy to be able to offer Bell FIBE internet at Moss Rock which means you are able to stream, scroll, cast, upload, zoom and share as much as you like. Great if you want a "work vacation" (we know thats not a thing).

STAIRS:
There are a few sets of stairs both outside and inside the cottage. Negotiating stairs must not be an issue for you. Some paths are on uneven surfaces, please take care when walking on the Moss Rock.

HEATING:
There is baseboard heating in the cottage which keeps everything toasty warm in the fall season.

TOILETS:
Moss Rock is on a holding tank, due to this we try to reduce water use as much as possible.

There can be power outages in rural areas and we cannot control this. If the power goes out, there are no refunds if this affects your stay.

You are staying the country, be alert and stay safe when it comes to wildlife. You will encounter frogs, snakes, spiders, dragonflies, bugs, fish, porcupines, skunks, raccoons, chipmunks, and possibly bears. Mother nature comes first, please do not kill any wildlife.

Enjoy views from the hammock, covered patio or swing bed. Look out for visiting turtles, loons and otters!

We live on a quiet lake and guests to Chalet Kamanik, ourselves and our neighbours value the peace and quiet of the lake. We must stress that Chalet Kamanik is not “party-central” so may not be suitable for your needs. If you are looking for the peace and quiet that Chalet Kamanik affords, we would be delighted to welcome you and your guests.

Due to our guests’ and our own allergies and sensitivities, and for the sake of the myriad wildlife in the area, we do not allow pets under any circumstances, on or in the property .

This beautiful home offers everything you need. Eat breakfast on the balcony overlooking the lake, spend your day on the water, and enjoy the sunset on the deck, followed by some romantic time by a fire, either inside or out.

We are located approximately 15 minutes from Edelweiss ski and golf resort and 40 minutes from Ottawa.

Bell Mega fibe (1.5 G) internet will also make sure you're able to work remotely, if you are not too relaxed for that!

The space
This home offers heated floors in the sunroom and bathroom. The main area, composed of 2 bedrooms and a living and dining room, features original and authentic pine wood floors and ceilings. You can also benefit from an additional lounging room. The sunroom also acts as a bedroom with a pull-out couch. The spa is also available for you enjoyment and is located in the back balcony overlooking the lake.

The well-water is drinkable. There is a dishwasher, washer and dryer available to use.

Guest access
In the winter, we strongly recommend traveling with an all-wheel-drive vehicle and winter tires as the cottage is located at the bottom of a hill. All vehicles are appropriate in the summertime.

Please, ensure your vehicle(s) do not block the entrance to the neighbour's cottage.

Welcome to our waterfront cottage nestled in a quiet area of Wakefield on a 2 acre property. The two level 1,800sf cottage has been carefully designed to integrate with nature with large floor-to-ceiling windows throughout. Come relax and recharge in nature. Plenty of activities to do: swim from the dock, canoe/kayak, fish, bike, golf, ski, explore the Gatineau Park, the Nordik Spa, etc.

The cottage is riverfront and is a 10 min drive from the charming Wakefield Village.

The place was designed to integrate with nature. The main floor is a bright open concept space with floor-to-ceiling windows which overlook the river below. Keep the blinds up in the main bathroom and you'll enjoy the unique experience of showering/bathing in the forest! The concrete radiant flooring throughout the cottage is a delight to the feet...

There are 3 bedrooms (2 Kings, 1 Queen) and two full bathrooms.

There is also a level 2 (32 AMP) EV charger.

The kitchen is well-equipped for all your culinary needs. The large wrap around deck with BBQ is perfect for winding down. The private dock area provides direct access to the river and there is a kayak and life jackets for guest use.

It is the ideal setting to disconnect (there is no television on purpose), relax and recharge in nature.

Guest access
The main cottage has two levels both of which are for your use. The separate bunkhouse is also for you. Outside there are the upper balcony/deck and the deck areas adjacent to the cottage. Nearer the lake is another deck leading to the dock. There is also a diving board off the rock cliff near the bunkhouse.

Other things to note
There is an outdoor shower for your use of the rear deck area, near where the BBQ is located. So refreshing in the summer time. Being out on a point, this really is a very secluded spot. with the lake visible all around.
