- "Very lovely and relaxing place. One mile from town. Stunning view of the river." - "A friend and I, along with my (2) small dogs, enjoyed a couple relaxing days at this lovely cottage. The home is very clean and well equipped. Great view of River and ships passing, both from the home, as well as while sitting in the beautiful yard, listening to the waterfall built into the rock wall! The big custom arch window, along with skylights t/o the home, bring in lots of sun light and allow you to enjoy the natural beauty of your surroundings even when you are inside. The (2) bedrooms are great, with (1) on the lower level and the 2nd on the 2nd floor, or what is considered the main living area with living room and kitchen. Each of these levels have a full BR, which is great. The loft area has sleeping space for (2) w/ small mattresses on the floor, so that space is best for kids. I think kids would love the space and it would add to their fun vacation. Rob was very welcoming to his property, which was appreciated because you are sharing a big open yard with his main home. He was eager for us to enjoy all the property had to offer, but he was not intrusive at all. Very nice host. A big plus is the option to use Rob's pool, which is unusual for a rental. If traveling with someone challenged by stairs, this might not be the best property as you have a full set of stairs to get to the main living area of the home (but great handrail), as well as a full set of stairs to get to the water if you wanted to access the River. Very nice accommodations and beautiful setting."

This one of a kind property is located directly on the Saint Lawrence River on the mainland just outside of Alexandria Bay, NY. One of the best fishing spots on the river, you can fish from the dock just meters of the main channel of one of the most beautiful water passages in the world. 200 feet of water line with direct access to swimming, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, boat dockage for boats 25 feet or less, jet ski dockage and just plain relaxing. This PET-FRIENDLY cottage is on one acre of land, and over 200 feet of water line. Two self- contained dog runs are located very close to the cottage. A post and rail fence contains the property. This summer cottage has been in our family since purchased in 1959. The cottage was built in 1967 out of cedar.`The kitchen has been totally renovated in the winter of 2015 with all new cabinetry, and appliances. Patio enclosure allows beautiful view of the waterline. The cottage sleeps 6 with 3 bedrooms one king one queen and two single bunk beds. a recliner sofa is great for extra little ones. one full bathroom . one- half bath. this is one of a kind property is perfect for families with children or fishermen, young adults or teenagers, elderly couples, or singles. two kayaks are available for use. The location of this property is directly on the most beautiful section of the river with views of Bolt Castle, Longvue Island, Wellsly Island, and the main channel.

Welcome to our large cottage with 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms on a quiet dead end street with dock space included at no additional cost. We have been renovating the cottage over the past 3 years with a new large screen TV, firepit, picnic table, new stove, renovated kitchen and bathroom and new dock.

All three bedrooms come with pillows, linens (queen size), and towels. The wrap around deck overlooks Carnegie Bay which provides quick and easy access to the St. Lawrence river and the shipping channels. Close proximity by boat to Alexandria Bay, Boldt Castle, Goose Bay, Chippewa Bay and Lake of the Isles. There is a 3 burner gas grill on the back of the deck which also provides ample room for small pets to roam. Two sliding glass doors provide access from the deck to the large living room with new ceiling fan and new HDTV. The living room has 2 couches, 2 chairs and 1 recliner as well as a wood burning fireplace.

The downstairs has 3 bedrooms with individual heaters for cool nights. Two bedrooms have sliding glass doors with a small downstairs porch. The home is also family friendly with a child gate at the top of the stairs and a pack-and-play included. This cottage is fully equipped for your stay with dishes, glassware, silverware, toaster, microwave, drip and Keurig coffee machines.

The home is situated with easy access to downtown Alexandria Bay, but on a dead end street providing needed quiet time and tranquility. The long driveway also provides ample room for multiple vehicles and boat/jet ski trailers. For boaters, Carnegie Bay Marina is just a 5 minute walk for easy launching.

Local activities most commonly enjoyed are visiting Alexandria bay for unique shopping, Uncle Sam boat tours, Alexandria Bay Municipal golf course located down the street, as well as boating and fishing.

Still, the hosts were responsive and the guy didn’t bother anyone. Just would have been nice to know ahead of time. The bunkhouse is small but quaint. Our friends didn’t complain. Really cute place to stay and a good deal for the price. Hosts were very nice and responded quickly when we had questions. If you book this just know it’s not a five star resort, and we didn’t expect that. It’s a nice, clean place in a very good location. We will likely come back!"

This is a fantastic place to relax and have fun. It has a spacious front lawn and plenty of trees for privacy. The cottage is in a beautiful area away from downtown but still close enough to reach by car in a few minutes.

Please be advised that wild behavior is not acceptable. That basically means three things: do not get too loud, do not exceed the guest limit, and do not disturb the neighbors. Adhering to these rules ensures a comfortable and respectful environment for everyone involved.

Please ensure that the cottage is left in a similar condition to how you found it upon arrival. We will take care of washing all used bed linens and blankets after your stay. Please place the used bed linens and blankets in a pile on or near each bed that was slept in. Used towels should be placed in the bathroom hamper. Clean any used dishes before you depart; leaving them in the drying rack is acceptable. Please dispose of all trash bags in the bins outside before leaving.

A photo of a government-issued ID for the guest making the booking must be provided to the host within 48 hours of the booking.

There is a security camera mounted on the shed that monitors the driveway..

Additional Info:

Regarding bedrooms and bathrooms: There are two bedrooms upstairs each with a queen bed. There is one bedroom downstairs with two twin beds. There is a full bathroom with a shower downstairs and a half bathroom upstairs.

Regarding dock space: the property is across the street from the River and does not have dock space. I would try contacting Carnegie Bay Marina in Alexandria Bay, NY to see their availability. There are BTW, also a few places in the village that rent Pontoon boats as well as kayaks..

Regarding the driveway: The driveway can accommodate 4-5 vehicles. Additionally, I have a large commercial lot at a Marine Store a few miles away on Rt 12, where you can park trailers and boats during your stay. There is no additional fee for this service.

No control over the weather, it was hot and humid, but the air conditioning made it tolerable. Comfortable Adirondack chairs and an umbrella to give shade, and a firepit for nights around the fire. The owner is nearby and a very nice gentleman, helpful in any way he could be. The gardens around the cottage are gorgeous and well cared for. Definitely an enjoyable, peaceful place to stay, with a view that is beautiful."

We invite you to come stay at our classic St.Lawrence River cottage. This private property includes a main cottage that sleeps 4 comfortably and has a large screened-in porch where you and your family can see Boldt Castle and watch the ships slide by. The cottage is a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath and includes a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room with a flat screen TV, DVD player, and Wifi internet access. Our guesthouse (sleeps 2) and is available for an additional charge if you need extra space. The docks are a great place to swim, fish and secure your boat during your stay. Make sure to take advantage of the great freshwater fishing in the area! We have caught multiple 14+ inch Bass right from our dock! Additionally, we are only approx 2 miles from downtown Alexandria Bay. This resort river village has restaurants, shops, bars, and scenic boat tour opportunities. The grocery store, drug store and gas stations are only 2 miles from the house as well. If you want to venture off of the property for the day we are only a few miles from the 1000 Islands Bridge that goes over to Canada (bring your passports for easy entry). You can also take a scenic boat tour of the Thousand Islands and visit Boldt Castle or Singer Castle to get a sense of the beautiful natural surroundings and rich history that exists in this part of the country. Golf and tennis are nearby and jet skis and kayaks are available in town to rent as well.
One thing is for sure, if you choose to stay at our cottage, you will create summer memories that will last forever. We know that you will love it as much as we do!!!

- "My wife and I were looking for some riverside seclusion, and could not have found a better place. The setting is perfect, right along the St Lawrence River with a fantastic view from the screened in porch or sitting on the rocks right at the shore. The home was a combination of rustic and quant, with a small cottage feel even though there is plenty of room. Everything you need is there, just add food and drink! Very quiet and peaceful as well. From this great base one can explore Alexandria Bay and Clifton, or take a short drive to Wellesley Island for hiking and a beach. Also close by is Canada, with great towns like Gananogue, Kingston (a real gem), and Brockville. Even Ottawa is a nice day trip. But dragging your self away from this great setting was not easy! We were very pleased, and would rent this property again. The owners were responsive and great in every way."

The village of Alexandria Bay is one mile away, where there is shopping and restaurants galore. Boldt Castle and Singer Castle can be toured via Uncle Sams Boat Tours. The Canadian border is a stone's throw away; bring your passport! Kingston, Ont., is only 30 minutes from the Thousand Islands Bridge.

Boldt Castle and Singer Castle are a boat ride away. The Adirondack mountains are two hours to the East, and the Eisenhower Locks are less than one hour away in Massena. Remember we are ten minutes from Canada, so bring your passport!

Ottawa and Kingston Ontario are within an hour and a half away, Watertown NY and the Salmon Run Mall are 30 minutes away, and Clayton and the Antique Boat Museum are 20 Minutes away.

With our location and six acres of private grounds we offer a level of peace, space, and privacy that you won’t find at a hotel. At the Ledges you have the best of both worlds, relaxation and convenience!

The Ledges is a dog friendly resort. We do require dogs to be kept on a leash at all times, be cleaned up after, and kept off all furniture. Owners must be responsible and make sure their dogs do not cause noise or disturbances to other guests. There is a $35 per night/per dog fee.

This listing is for the Heron Cottage. The Heron is a beautiful two-story loft style home. The bedroom is upstairs and has a queen size bed. From the bedroom you have views of the river out a picture window. It also looks down into the living area and the large stone fireplace. Downstairs there is a full size pull-out sofa with a memory foam mattress. There is a full kitchen with a refrigerator/freezer, farmhouse apron sink, range, dishwasher, coffee maker, tea kettle, and microwave. The bathroom is downstairs and has a river rock tiled floor. The shower is fully tiled and features a frameless glass door, rainshower head, and bench. There is a smart tv with Directv satellite television in the living area.

On the outdoor deck there is a grill and dining table with chairs to enjoy summer grilling. You also have your own outdoor firepit with Adirondack chairs, and firewood is provided free!

We have plenty of parking on site. If you are bringing your own boat we have trailer parking available. There is a free public boat launch less than a mile from us. We have six acres of landscaped grounds where you can walk, fish, ship-watch, and relax. We have a large in-ground pool area for our guests. We have easy access to everything in The Thousand Islands. There is a playground with a basketball court on our street. The public golf course is less than a mile from us. There is a neighborhood grocery store at the end of our street. You can hire a fishing guide that will pick you up in their boat right at our dock! We also have boat rentals available at The Ledges. Downtown Alexandria Bay is also easily walkable from The Ledges Resort for shopping, restaurants, boat tours, a public beach, and lots more!

If you have your own boat or rent one you can tie it up right in front of your living room! There is a deck all the way around the cottage on the lower level. The master bedroom has a balcony with a view of Boldt Caste. The deck is a great place to fish or just relax and enjoy the river.

Upstairs: The master bedroom has a queen size bed. The balcony has a spectacular view of the Boldt Castle and Sunken Rock Lighthouse. The second bedroom upstairs has two queen beds. The upstairs bathroom has a stand-up shower.

Downstairs: There is a large entryway. This leads to the downstairs bedroom, bathroom, and living room/kitchen. The downstairs bedroom has a double bed.
