- "We were pleasantly surprised by the chalet, so confortable and clean. We fell like home.. We will recommand the place" - "Very well-maintained cottage with a lot of attention to detail and exactly as shown in the photos. The cottage had all the essential amenities, comfortable beds and a nice view of the lake. Everything was in working order, plenty of cups, dishes and cutlery, all very nice. Only thing missing was a wooden spoon, had to use chopsticks to make scrambled eggs to not scratch the frying pan. BBQ was conveniently located just outside the side door on a small porch. There is a decently sized fire pit with Muskoka like chairs to sit on, though the grass needed a cut as it was well overgrown. The outside of the cottage is still a work in progress, but there is plenty of space for activities, badminton, frisbee and the likes. There is also a wood picnic bench outside that is great for an outdoor meal during the day. Lake access is very rustic. Need to walk about 7 minutes from the cottage and then there is an unkept, downhill grassy laneway between two private properties that leads you to a small, rocky opening where you can get into the lake for a swim. Not ideal if you have kids with you. Need to ensure you are well stocked as there are no stores close by. The ferry is about a 12-to-15-minute drive from the cottage and to get to Picton is 40-45 minutes at best. Overall, it was a nice cottage getaway and an enjoyable change of pace for a few days from the hustle and bustle of the city. Would recommend Deirdre's cottage to all looking for a calm, quiet and relaxing place to unwind."

- "Perfect place for a family reunion. Lots of space for the kids to play!" - "Family of 12 from grandparents to a 5 month old baby had a great relaxing and restful stay. Recommendations for future guests: 1. If you are into fishing, bring live bates. In one morning, our 10 year old caught 22, beating grandpa's 21, all from their dock. 2. If you are into kayaks and canoes bring your own life jackets. The ones provided onsite are not in great shape. 3. Take a short ferry ride + 8km drive to Picton, for some great eatery, shopping and picking up supplies. 4. AC works great, good water pressure, enough hot water for everyone, amenities were all working and easily usable, host responds to your texts if you have any questions throughout the week. 5. Bring few extra bath towels if you have kids. They provided one bath towel per person (more or less) and it wasn't enough when the kids are covered in sun screen, bug spray, lake water, smores, etc. 6. We visited early August and yet surprisingly not many mosquitos/ bugs. You can actually enjoy the outdoors."

- "Chris is an exceptional host, displaying clear and prompt communication skills. The cottage is meticulously arranged, making it an ideal spot for family or friends' vacations. It comes fully equipped with all necessary amenities for a delightful week or weekend getaway. The WIFI is both fast and dependable, while the beds provide an incredibly comfortable rest. The kitchen is well-stocked with essentials, including a coffee maker, high-quality pots and pans, and a BBQ grill. The waterfront offers a gently sloping entry into the water, creating a safe and enjoyable environment for various activities. The water's warmth further enhances the experience. To make the most of your time, consider bringing along a paddleboard or kayak, as well as water shoes due to some rocky areas. Such equipment will undoubtedly add to the fun and excitement. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend this cottage without reservation. My anticipation for future visits is already high, given the outstanding experience I had during my stay. - "The cottage was a thoughtfully appointed, and lovingly cared-for space, stocked with everything you need, and with a gorgeous deck overlooking the lake. There was plenty to do, as the cottage was close to a walking loop, cycling routes through gorgeous countryside, and some of the best beaches in the province. And when lounging about, there was often an opportunity for a chat with the friendly neighbours. We had an adventure on the first day -- the fridge gave out in sweltering weather -- and Marty and Alex stored our food and went in search of a replacement fridge, which is no small feat in a pandemic. They got us sorted quickly and gifted us a bottle of wine for the inconvenience. We left well rested with good memories and kind thoughts for our gracious hosts. Thank you for a lovely stay, Marty and Alex!"

- "Off the start, Courtney was so quick to respond to any questions I had prior to booking. She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable with everything. Courtney and Chris were both very welcoming when we arrived. One of the first things we noticed was how clean the cottage was. It had everything we needed in terms of dishes and the bed was very comfortable. There are also fans in every room, which was great for me who hates being hot. It is located on Howe Island, which makes it a nice cottage getaway, but also close enough to Kingston and Gananoque for easy access to museums and restaurants. You do have to take a ferry to get to the island, but they run quite frequently so we never had issues. Unfortunately their boat wasn't working when we were there, so we couldn't take advantage of their offer to take us around. We were also there in May, so a little cold for us to take advantage of the nearby water for a swim. The dogs and cats that live there are very friendly and was a highlight for our 19 month old son. The cottage is on a property with the owners' home and a couple of other cottages. So, if you are looking for something very isolated and private, this wouldn't be it. However, Courtney and Chris are not intrusive at all, and we always enjoyed chatting with them when we saw them. If we ever needed anything, Courtney was very quick to bring it over. Their son would also build our fire every night, which was great! Overall we had a great experience and look forward to going back when we have a chance!"

The Blue Fox Cottage is located directly on the tranquil and majestic Graham Lake. Experience beautiful sunsets like you've never seen before, enjoy your morning coffee on the private dock, go canoeing, and relax in the hot tub or around the fireplace all year round!
With two bedrooms and a large pullout bed, central air conditioning, heating and an indoor fireplace, this 4-season, pet friendly cottage accommodates 6 people comfortably.
The Summer:
The most beautiful time of the year! Although not as quiet as the other seasons due to the surrounding campground - Nothing beats the warm weather, gorgeous sunsets, barbecuing, canoeing, fishing, sitting on the dock and relaxing in the hot tub.
Please note: The lake develops weeds and algae during the hot summer months, which creates undesirable swimming conditions. We always recommend beautiful beaches in the area for guests looking to swim!
The Fall:
September to November offers the best views of the Fall foliage. Spend the warm days on dock and cool nights in the hot tub or by our indoor fireplace.
The Winter:
The cottage is located on a shallow lake, which freezes over very early in the year. This is perfect for skating and ice fishing. Guests can also grab a warm blanket and cozy up by the indoor fireplace. The hot tub is available all year round!
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: This cottage is private property located within a quiet and quaint seasonal campground that is operational during the Summer months. If you are looking for complete seclusion, this is not the place for you.
Utilize the comfortable Adirondack chairs on the large private dock while viewing the gorgeous sunset. Relax in our cozy hot tub, around the outdoor fire pit or snuggle up by the indoor fireplace during the colder months!
All guests will have complimentary coffee, tea and welcome snacks all with access to books, board games, smart tv and the canoe.
- "I wanted to take my mom (and her dog) out of the city for a few days. This was a good choice. We picked up some groceries in Brockville (about 15 minutes away) and spent a couple of days here. The place is as described and I had some good communication with Eric who was always happy to help out. Single-floor cottage with a dock, coffee, a well-stocked kitchen, a hot tub, and even a washer-dryer. Mixed in with a campground, it wasn't very private, but nobody minded us."

- "This is a lovely rustic cottage but has all the perks you could want. Excellent view, great deck, well equipped kitchen. Comfy front room. Full bath (although the shower controls were a bit tricky). Bedrooms were as advertised and the loft space was well ventilated if the windows were open. Everyday we noticed the quiet. Lovely. On the downside, the deck could use some repair work, the dock was totally unusable and the trees could use a massive trim (they both block part of the excellent view and contribute to the mosquito problem we had each evening) Overall an excellent 2 weeks."

- "Idyllic gardens and property; and Howe Island is beautiful. The cottage (and amenities) is everything as described, and then some. The water was beautiful." - "First time to the Thousand Islands but have to say that there is a certain charm and beauty to Howe Island. Beautiful, clean and spacious property with a spectacular deck/dock. It was a working type vacation so nothing better than to sit on the dock and watch the ferry and the scenery and gorgeous sunsets while doing a bit of work. Wifi connection was good. Highlights were the breathtaking sunsets, seadooing around the islands and fires at night. Low lights (of which the owner has no control over) was the low water level which made launching the seadoo a challenge and the water was a chilly 64F. These are minor complaints but overall a great time at Morris’ cottage. The owner Morris was great in responding and very friendly and helpful. I would definitely love to go back next year."

The Fisherman's Cottage - cute, fresh, clean and bright with epic views of the lake and Kingston skyline. Good news! They have almost completed construction on the new ferry dock! We're back to a little more peace and quiet around here.
The Fisherman's Cottage is a sweet little waterfront cottage in the heart of Marysville, Wolfe Island, with easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and a short drive to the Island's landmark - Big Sandy Bay.
The cottage pays tribute to the slower pace of island life. After a day of swimming a Big Sandy Bay or biking, relax and enjoy the sunset on our sweet little front porch.
As you walk in, you'll find plenty of space to hang your coats and hats. Just off the foyer, is the dining room and kitchen.
The dining room has enough space to seat four comfortably. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a cuppa in the morning and some supper in the evening as you look off to the beautiful lakeside views.
You're welcome to cook a full meal while you are here. We have everything you need in our fully stocked kitchen.
In the living room, you'll find a very comfortable sofa and chairs for two. Views of the lake and boating life can be seen from our living room windows.
Up the stairs, you'll find two lofty bedrooms each finished with cotton sheets, two types of pillows to choose from (high and low), a feather duvet, and foam top mattresses. The Fisherman's Cottage really shows his charm here, like bunks in boat cabin, the ceilings are really low here - watch your head!
And of course, the porch over looking the lake and Kingston city skyline! Four Adirondack chairs with warm patio string lights - we wouldn't be surprised if you never left this spot.
Our dock is shared by our others on our property. Right now, we are getting ready to repair it, so if you are looking for good swimming, we recommend the public dock, or better yet, Big Sandy Bay.
We are very sorry the listing does not have a hot tub. this is an error in the system.
- "Amazing and relaxing stay, thank you Rebecca and Philip! So accommodating and thoughtful! 😀" - "Cozy little house right on the water with a covered porch and dock available for our use. Was within walking distance of the store and all restaurants. Very relaxing!" - "Cute clean cottage! Location will be very handy as new ferry dock is next door. But as ferry dock is next door, noise into early hours to be expected every 1/2 hour. For us this was a perfect getaway close to family in Kingston. If just wanting a quiet island stay, consider some location away from ferry dock."

- "Wow! Those were the first words out of our mouths when we arrived. Judy and her family had done such a wonderful job thinking of everything (from leaving notes and directions and a thoughtful cottage care package). The location is awesome. Nice and quiet and close to the small towns of Picton and Bath, but close enough to Napanee and Kingston. Being right on the water is amazing. Will definitely think about maybe bringing a boat next time to explore more. The cottage is cozy and lots of sleeping space. Kitchen and washroom facilities are what they need to be, clean and well stocked. The beds were super comfortable. Having AC was a bonus. Didn’t spend a lot of time inside as the property was well shaded and great to just sit outside and enjoy. In the evening the firepit was perfect for s’mores and conversation. Also lots of parking to accommodate the 4 cars we had. The bunky was a nice add on for some privacy along with more sleeping space. I can’t say enough about how well the place met our expectations. Definitely will be looking to stay here again in the future. Thanks again Judy and family. Almost don’t want to comment and review so we can keep this gem to ourselves. :)Dave"

- "We had a great stay at this cottage. It was very well equipped and a great location. The sunsets were amazing! We enjoyed sitting on the deck and then moving into the screened in porch when the bugs came out. Option of air conditioning inside. The swimming was good - you could either jump/dive in off the dock or wade in (water shoes recommended). There were a few reeds part way in but not bad and quite tolerable. We had a nice break and Napanee is not very far if you need anything."

Secluded, shared water access, kayaks on site and secluded in the woods, mesmerizing! Bask in the deck to breathe in sunsets of the Bay of Quinte and enjoy the peace that surrounds you. Recently renovated with all appliances and firepit to enjoy the best nature has to offer!
You will have access to the entire cottage all to yourselves!
Our cottage has many ways to connect with nature. If you follow the path that is located on the left side of the cottage (closest side to the driveway). This path will take you down through a little hill with rock steps. You will arrive at an area surrounded by bamboo plants and trees.
**PLEASE READ**
For water access, you can access it through a private path. Follow the easy path that is located on the left side of the cottage, driveway side. This path will take you down through a little hill with rock steps. Keep heading down the hill, you will arrive at a flat grassy area, feel free to use this area as part of your cottage experience. To continue the path to the water, continue past that area, head straight down till you reach a gravel driveway.
Once you reach the gravel portion, PLEASE keep in mind you are stepping into our legal access to the water and this property no longer belongs to us so please be polite when crossing. You have the right to access the water but only through the easement which is outlined with small red flags, the easement is left of the path. If you look over to your left, you will cross the gravel part into the outlined path, this path will guide you to the water, marked Unit A access. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL, when stepping onto the water area you must step down in a rocky unsettled area. We do not take any responsibility for any injury or misuse of this access, it's at your own risk. Water levels may reduce the beach area, maybe different than in the listing photos. However it's shallow when you step down from the rocky natural step path into the water. Please bring water shoes, its highly recommend.
Lastly, this is a secluded area, noise bylaws apply at all times near the shoreline. Be respectful and bring your garbage and any other contents back up to the cottage to help keep the environment clean.
The sunsets are the best!!

The space
We’ve just installed a new dock! You’re welcome to use it during your stay. Bring your water toys and boat. Just note, the dock is shared by other guests on our property.
Guest access
Your entrance is located on the side of the cottage...right as you drive up and park. There's enough room for two cars in our drive way.
Other things to note
Although the new dock is almost ready, the ferry is operation from the winter dock on Dawson's point. We're all looking forward to seeing the new ferry operate soon. Please refer to Wolfe Island Ferry Schedule for ferry times.
Fisherman's Cottage isn't as young as he used to be, but of course, this is part of his lure. For example, the porch is a little slanted, but with the laid back Adirondack chairs, you will level out.
Since we are so close to the water, you can expect to see wildlife. You'll also notice our neighbour's chickens next door. Welcome to the island life! Embrace her beauty and charm.

Move inside from the balcony, to the master bedroom which offers similar views of the bay and it’s own private 3-piece ensuite. There are two other smaller bedrooms on the main level, laundry, and a shared 3-piece bathroom as well. The living room/dining room kitchen/ is all open concept which also leads onto the back balcony.
On the lower level is a walkout basement, that leads to a stamped concrete veranda identical in size to the upper balcony. In the basement is an additional bedroom (with 2 double beds), a kitchenette (oven, mini fridge, microwave) and furnished rec room.
The property itself is roughly 5 acres of rolling topography which is mostly set 15-20 feet above the water. There is, however, water access on a grassy region of gradually sloped landscape, located to the northeast of the house. Please exercise caution when near the water, especially this time of year!

Property is very easy to find given the address. The driveway offers free parking for several vehicles - we’ve had 5-6 before with still room for more! You’ll likely need a car to access any amenities although, cycling is very common in the area in the warmer months. The nearest town is Napanee, approximately 20 minutes away where you can find grocery stores, restaurants, hardware stores, etc. Also located approximately 15 minutes from the Loyalist Parkway (Hwy 33) and Glenora Ferry (FREE!) which leads to Prince Edward County.
Municipal boat launches are located 5-10 mins in either direction along the main road (Cuthill Lane and Bayview Drive) as well as there being water access from the house aswell. Being local to the area, I can keep myself available for any questions that may arise throughout your stay!

The propane furnace is shut down for the summer season, May 15th- sept 15th, there are some space heaters located in the utility closet if there is some chilly nights in May or September. Due to the high winds for the fall and winter season the gazebo netting comes off October 1st. The water comes from the lake and we don’t suggest drinking it so bring some water jugs for drinking, however the water is double filtrated and equipped with a UV light and when periodically tested comes back 100% safe from the health unit. The water level is great this year which is controlled with lake Ontario’s level, it is 7 feet deep off the end of the dock, we have done our best to keep the weeds down around the dock for swimming, but with weeds comes great fishing off the dock.

Insects also may be present during the spring and summer.

Escape to the countryside, leaving behind the stress of everyday life at this gem of a property which is known as the ‘One-Eared Rabbit Retreat’. This charming two-bedroom cottage, is the perfect getaway for fishing enthusiasts. Hay Bay provides one of the best fishing spots in southeastern Ontario. Located near the community of Napanee and a forty minute drive to Prince Edward County. This wonderful little oasis will provide you with a comfortable and casual ambiance for your vacation.
The space
One-Eared Rabbit Retreat:
A small concrete garden ornament, in the shape of a rabbit, was found by the stairs leading down to the lake. Apparently, it had been placed there by the previous owner, and had weathered many years of being left out and exposed to the environment. It looked pretty bedraggled with paint chips coming off and it was missing one ear. Soon it became a sort of mascot for our property and we would jokingly refer to the cottage as the One-Eared Rabbit Retreat, and the name has stuck. If you come for a visit you will still see it sitting by the lake, stoically watching over the cottage.
The space is cozy and comfortable, with an eclectic mix of furniture. The living room has enough sitting for five, and has a large flat screen T.V. with satellite connection as well as a stereo sound system, for entertainment. The kitchen dining room has a vaulted ceiling and a large dining table, which seats six. The fully functioning kitchen comes with a microwave, a full-size refrigerator, and an electric stove. Other appliances include a drip style coffee maker, tea kettle, and toaster. All of the dishes, utensils, kitchen linens and cooking pots will be found in the cupboards and drawers. There is a sink faucet which supplies the cottage with filtered drinking water. In this room, you will also find a sofa bed, which can be used for extra guests. The linens for this double bed are kept in the closet between the 2 bedrooms. The two bedrooms provide sleeping quarters for four people. The main bedroom has a queen size bed with pillow top mattress and a four drawer dresser. In the second bedroom, there are two single beds, as well as a dresser. In the three-piece bathroom, you will find hand, wash, and bath towels (no beach towels), as well as soap and shampoo dispensers. There is also a hairdryer stored in the cabinet for your convenience.
The property comes with an expansive waterfront which includes a dock, boat launch, and fire pit; with each area providing incredible water views of Hay Bay. Relax and enjoy the scenery from one of a variety of seating arrangements, or curl-up on a lounge chair to read. If you want to cool off in the lake, be sure to bring beach towels. Water footwear is also recommended as the waterfront is rocky and it can be weedy.

You will have access to the property at the cottage, except for the boathouse. You may tie-up your boat along the dock, on the ramp side.
There is enough space to park a couple of vehicles at the cottage. If you are bringing your own boat, we have an on-site private boat launch ramp that you may use. Our launch ramp can accommodate a boat up to 17 feet. There is room to park the trailer after you launch. You should plan to bring your fuel with you, because there is no nearby marina.
Our home is located on the property (at the road), and we always respect our guest’s privacy to ensure that you have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. We offer no-contact check-in for your convenience using a keypad number that you will be provided with your reservation, but you are welcome to stop at the house or call if you have questions, and we will do our best to assist you.
Other things to note
Other things to note:
The water is obtained from the lake. It has been filtered and passes along a UV light before coming into the cottage. There is a tap in the kitchen from the reverse osmosis system, that is used for drinking water. If you have a particular palate or concerns, we recommend you bring bottled water.
There is a fire-pit that you may use. Unless the County is in a total fire ban, local municipal regulations allow for a campfire no sooner than 2 hours before sunset, and no later than 2 hours after sunrise. Firewood can be purchased. Fireworks are only permitted July 1.
If you plan to go fishing/ boating, please be mindful of the Provincial regulations, licenses and permits that you may need.
Safety:
We are on the lake. Water levels can change during the seasons.

We were recently featured in the Globe & Mail!
www.theglobeandmail (DOT) com/real-estate/toronto/article-a-1790s-loyalist-house-full-of-colour-and-quirky-decor/
About the house: this is the first Loyalist homestead in the area. It was built in the 1790s by Captain Dorland, namesake of the nearby town of Dorland. At the same time in history, the White House was constructed and Napoleon led the French Revolution. Captain Dorland operated the Glenora Ferry for a number of decades and petitioned to maintain ongoing public ferry access for the local community. For guests with mobility issues, note that the stairs are steeper than modern stairs and the landing is slightly narrow.
About the land: The land we are on is the traditional territory of the Anishnabek, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) and the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte First Nation. This territory is covered by the Williams and Upper Canada Treaties. We are grateful to be here as an uninvited guest upon these traditional territories. We are committed to getting to know local Indigenous communities and re-wilding/re-foresting the land with native species.

Located on the shore of Mallory Bay near Prince Edward County. Available to rent for short- and long-term stay.
The rustic cottage is a throwback to another era, with nostalgic decorating.
The space
Two screened in sunrooms. Large outdoor space for tents and lawn games.
Two bedrooms have a full+twin bed for 3 adults each
One bedroom has a full bed for 2 adults
- Before there was air-conditioning, a sleeping porch was the best thing that ever happened to summer. To inspire sweet dreams, add a classic metal bed topped with a cozy quilt to your screened porch, then mix in a bit of wicker, a pair of antique fishing poles and a rocker near the fire.
- Sit a Spell; the retro-styled glider table and bench is the spot for nature infused meals, in the sun filled summer, generating old-timey feelings and memories filled with smiles.
- Rainy days, the screened in porches offer a borderline romantic environment, to sit, read, enjoy company, all while being surrounded by the pitter patter of rain on the aged full tree leaves and water. Watch the distant ferry maneuver the waves, all while settled dry, reading from the multitude of books

This cottage is a wonderful slice of Thousand Islands heaven! Designed by my dad for our whole family to live in, it’s rustic, cozy, and very practical. Good for all seasons, it features radiant heating in each room and a wood burning stove for those cozy nippy nights. The best feature is the big bay window overlooking the waterfront for a perfect view of the magical sunsets! In the summer, you’ll have access to our big canoe. The house is very close to Big Sandy Bay (see Guidebook).
The space
This home features a spacious open concept kitchen/living room design with all other rooms feeding into it. Three good sized bedrooms, and a futon allow ample sleeping accommodations. Add to that a large laundry room with a bunk bed and you’ve got comfortable sleeping for 9 people! Plus you’ve got a kids size mattress within reach. A huge deck will allow for very comfortable family time. No one will feel too cramped. In the summer, you’ll want to bathe in the lake, so one bathroom isn’t an issue. The yard is enormous and we supply yard sports equipment, so you’ll never get bored! The place isn’t childproofed, but I was raised there, and although you do need to pay attention to your children, they will absolutely fall in love with the Island!
Guest access
You will have full access to the whole home and property, with the exception of the crawl space under the house. If you would like the yard furniture and games, or canoe equipment, there is a key hung over the stove to access the shed beside the house. The island can get windy, so we can’t leave things outside.
Other things to note
We’re on a shore well, and there’s a sulfur smell to the water that’s stronger during low water levels, so don’t worry about it. I grew up drinking the water, so it’s safe. A Brita pitcher is provided, but feel free to bring you’re own drinking water.

This a healthy and natural Lake environment. Depending on the time of year you may experience weeds in the water, waves if it’s windy, still water if it’s not windy, and best of all fish, swans and geese, and even the occasional otter. If you do choose to come and experience this awesome little corner of Ontario, just remember that the closer you get to nature, the closer it gets to you :)
Earwigs can be present in/outside due to humidity and heat conditions. We spray for removal, but you may still see some inside the cottage. They are not harmful /poisonous but you can use a spot chemical killer (onsite) if they bother you.
