Location is perfect for exploring the area. Only 20 minutes to Balsam Lake Provincial Park to spend time on a beach. The Neighborhood:
Oriole Rd is a tight knit community of seasonal cottagers with an excellent patio restaurant across the street from our property and a marina directly next to the Kabins. This makes for the perfect setting for convenience to enjoy water sport and great food.

Fenelon Falls is a beautiful little town. It is home to lock 34 on the Trent-Severn Waterway between Sturgeon Lake and Cameron Lake.

There are many great restaurants, pubs, shops, a grocery store, Friday farmer’s market and a beautiful waterfront park. All this is within walking distance of The Kabins by the falls.

Getting Around:
We offer 1 parking space per booking. If driving around town isn’t your thing, the ATV trails are 1KM away as well there are boat slip rentals directly across the street.

Shiloh Cottages has five beautiful cottages for rent for your family vacation, from Mid May to mid October. We are located directly across the road from Byrnell Golf Club, on the 25 acre property of Shiloh Christian Centre, along the south shore of Cameron Lake in Fenelon Falls, Ontario. Our vacation cottages are in scenic Central Ontario, in the Kawartha Lakes. The Kawartha Lakes region is one of Ontario's most popular cottaging and vacation areas. Vacation cottages are available mid May to mid October.

We have five cottages available. The Oak (214020) sleeps up to 10 people in a four bedroom unit. The Pine Cottage (478996) was newly renovated in 2017. It sleeps up to seven people with a loft that sleeps three and two queen rooms on the main level. The Cedar Cottage (195058) is a four bedroom cottage that accommodates up to eight people. The Spruce Cottage (195059) is a three bedroom, which can service up to six people. The Birch Cottage (159060) accommodates four people in a two bedroom unit.

Cottage rates vary according to each cottage, and the month that you are booking, between mid May and mid October. You may check our rates on the page of the vacation cottage of your choice.
Our waterfront is a sand beach of 150 feet. The entrance is a shallow walk in, and somewhat stony for the first 10 to 15 feet. After that the lake bottom is sandy, and shallow. There are no deep drop offs to be concerned about for young or inexperienced swimmers. We now have boat docking available, but we do not rent boats. You are welcome to bring your own boat.

Byrnell Golf Club is directly across the road from the Shiloh Property. Book your tee-off time at Byrnell.
The town of Fenelon Falls has many quaint little shops and restaurants. Watching the boats go through the Trent-Severn lock system is a favourite pass time for many tourists. The Fenelon Museum on Oak Street offers Victorian Tea's on Wednesday afternoons through-out July and August,

This reservation has a Flexible cancellation policy - refunds will be issued up to 30 days prior to the check in date.
A 100% refund is provided for travellers cancelling at least 30 days before check-in. A 50% refund is provided for travellers cancelling from 14 to 29 days before check-in. No refunds are provided for travellers cancelling less than 14 days prior to check-in. CanadaStays Booking Fees are refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of placing your booking request.
Our house rules: primary renter must be 25 or older, no smoking, no parties or events, pets permitted.
We require a $250 security deposit which will be refunded at the end of your stay if everything is in order.
Security deposits will be used to cover damages, extra cleaning fees or late departures.
No smoking indoors. Cigarette receptacles are provided on deck and around campfires.
Check in time is 4 pm, check out 11 am, unless other times are prearranged.
Noise levels and campfires should be reduced by 11 pm.
Please be respectful of clients in our four other cottages, as well as the many privately owned cottages on our lake road.

Across the cottages road is a very private public beach with beautiful sandy gradual entrance.

Welcome to the Magic Box. This 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage on the Fenelon River feels private but is walkable to everything downtown Fenelon Falls has to offer, including restaurants, shops, Kawartha Dairy ice cream, Maryboro Lodge Museum, Garnet Graham Park, Lock 34 and the Fenelon Falls.

During the day watch the boats from a shaded gazebo above the river or at water level on your own dock. Swim in the river from the dock (use caution as there is a current from the waterfall upstream) or walk to Garnet Graham Park to run through the splash pad and swim in Cameron Lake.

Dine inside with the air conditioning after preparing a meal in the well equipped kitchen or take your food outside to the deck or beside the water at the gazebo. In the evening look at the stars from a hammock, sit around a campfire (depending on fire-restrictions), or stream a movie on the smart TV.

The main bedroom has a Queen bed and the second bedroom has a single bed with trundle enabling 2 to share the room, though it is a tight fit! There is also a double futon in the waterside cabana that folds down to a double bed, should you want to spread out during the summer months.

Accessibility: Both entrances to the cottage have several steps onto the deck. In addition the waterfront is along a low limestone cliff with a path down to the water. It is not ideal for renters with limited mobility.

I love my cottage because of the chandeliers, the gardens, and the snorkling on Gull River,.
Coboconk is 1.5-2hrs from Toronto. Kawartha Lakes is beautiful!! The cottage hosts art supplies, lifejackets, 2 canoes and 3 kayaks. 1 man's canoe, 1 ladies, and a child's. The cottage has 2 bedrooms. The 1st bedroom hosts a double bunkbed built by my Great Uncle William in 1955. The 2nd bedroom hosts a double bed. There is wifi, a new galley kitchen, new insulated roof, tv, porch, bbq, firpit, 2 docks, and 3/4 acre of Cedar trees. There is an indoor bathroom and also an outhouse. The fishing on Silver lake hosts Small Mouth Bass, Sunfish, Large Mouth Bass, Catfish, & Pike. There is lots of parking and town is 5klm away. The town of Coboconk hosts a Foodland, Hardware Store, Chip Truck, LCBO, a Marina, Buck & Up, and other local shopping. Water shoes are highly recommended, and snorkles and flippers are a must to bring! Fenelon Falls & Bobcaygeon are close and fun to explore!

This rustic, private, lakefront cottage (north shore of Lake Scugog) has 2 bedrooms (1 queen, 1 full/double), 2 bathrooms and a newly renovated large bright sunroom with sleeper sectional. You are sure to enjoy the lake view, large private dock, water facing deck with bbq, huge yard for games, bon fires and more. Located approximately 1.5 hours from Toronto, this cottage is the perfect place for couples or friends to escape the hustle and bustle, relax and unwind.
The space
Spectacular views. Nothing beats a morning coffee on the dock while the lake is still calm or a night around the campfire looking up are the stars.

Full private access to the property (excluding storage sheds).

2 kayaks (life jackets provided).

Cottage stocked with: linens (bedding provided for full bed and sleeper sectional), bath towels, cleaning supplies, garbage bags, toilet paper, paper towels, glassware, mugs, tableware, pots/pan, utensils, coffee, sugar, salt/pepper and a few other cooking/kitchen necessities. The kitchen is designed for light cooking only (there is NO hood fan). Please plan to utilize BBQ as much as possible.

Whispering Waters is a great little cottage on the eastern shores of Cameron Lake just minutes from downtown Fenelon Falls. This is a perfect property for a family looking to get away, while not breaking the bank. With beautiful westerly views across Cameron Lake and the best seat in the house for breathtaking sunsets this is the property for you.
On a quiet dead-end road, you will find Whispering Waters situated in a small enclave of properties close to the old ‘Victoria Rail Trail’ that also forms the main B103 snowmobile trail in the winter. With great access for hikers and snowmobilers alike, if you are taking a break from the lake then this is great to have so close.
There is a nice lawn and garden on the lake-side of the property with a small deck and landscaped waterfront. On the rear is a larger lawn with the outdoor dining and BBQ area for those cottage buffets.
Inside the property, the kitchen, dining and living rooms are in an open plan concept that wrap around the property. The 2 bedrooms on the lakeside have great views as you rise from your comfortable slumber. The Master has a double bed. The other bedroom has two single beds. This arrangement combined with a pull out futon in the living room makes this property very flexible for different group compositions.
Linens are included with the property and you will find everything to be new and comfortable. Waterfront There is a small grassy yard between the property and the waterfront. The waterfront is landscaped with giant flag stones and the wall has smaller rocks at its base. The main entry into the water is to the right-hand side where the grass leads down to 2 flagstone steps that step down into the water where there is hard-packed sand underfoot.

Trivia Cameron Lake, Ontario is one of the Kawartha Lakes and is a lake bordering the town of Fenelon Falls and is part of the Trent-Severn Waterway. The lake is some 6.7 kilometres long by 3.5 kilometres wide and is quite deep, reaching 15 metres in places. The lake occupies the area between locks 33 & 34 on the Trent-Severn Waterway.
Much of the side of the lake is taken up with housing and is a popular place to live. The town of Fenelon Falls is found between Sturgeon Lake and Cameron Lake. The lake is popular with boaters and fisherman. Fish found in the lake include, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, walleye (pickerel) and muskie (occasionally tiger muskellunge).
In the lake are found the Lakers Islands (aka Boyd and Rathbun Islands). Cameron Lake is not eutrophic because it has a high flushing rate which counteracts its high phosphorus loading. (Source - Wikipedia)

There are some terms that get overused and to be honest we think that "hidden gem" might be one of those terms when it comes to real estate and cottage rentals - but then again, sometimes it's exactly the right phrase to use. The Talbot River lazily flows between Canal Lake at Bolsover Ontario, just northeast of Beaverton, and Lake Simcoe. Quite frankly we were surprised to find such a delightful pair of cottages this close to the GTA. At just a little over an hour from the Don Valley/401 interchange, Talbot-by-the-Lake cottages are a perfect choice for an extended family that wants a pair of cottages side by side - perfect for sharing a cottage vacation but allowing each to have some space of their own.

Talbot-by-the-lake - Pineview has a kitchen, dining area, living room and 2 bedrooms and sleeps 5. It has a fire pit, smart TV, Wifi, and is air-conditioned.

While there will be occasional boats passing by, the island in that dominates the view also shields you from the traffic of the Trent-Severn Waterway - which by the way, is also accessible to you should you wish to bring a boat. Swimming from the docks is quite good - the gentle current of the river prevents any excessive weed build up. You may occasionally see some weed carried into the bay from nearby Canal Lake, but these are easily dealt with.

The local store just down the road has what you need for groceries and the basics. Also just on the other side of that island is the Western Trent Golf Club - a nice little 9-hole track for you to enjoy during your stay. Beaverton, Fenelon Falls and Orillia are all within a half hour's drive, each offering something unique to cottage country visitors.

While Pineview is wonderful for a small family, you may want to also rent the adjacent cottage, allowing for a larger family gathering with separate spaces.

Waterfront

The cottage is located on a deeper section of the Trent-Severn system just west of where the Talbot River flows into Canal Lake. It has good swimming for adults as well as shallow entry swimming for children, with a soft, silty bottom, and a few rocks. Some flat rocks have been placed to help with entry to the water. Off the dock the water is approximately 6' deep.

There are some terms that get overused and to be honest we think that "hidden gem" might be one of those terms when it comes to real estate and cottage rentals - but then again, sometimes it's exactly the right phrase to use. The Talbot River lazily flows between Canal Lake at Bolsover Ontario, just northeast of Beaverton, and Lake Simcoe. Quite frankly we were surprised to find such a delightful pair of cottages this close to the GTA. At just a little over an hour from the Don Valley/401 interchange, Talbot-by-the-Lake cottages are a perfect choice for an extended family that wants a pair of cottages side by side - perfect for sharing a cottage vacation but allowing each to have some space of their own.

Talbot-by-the-lake - Birchview has a kitchen, dining area, living room and 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4. It has a fire pit, smart TV, gas fireplace, Wifi, and is air-conditioned.

While there will be occasional boats passing by, the island in that dominates the view also shields you from the traffic of the Trent-Severn Waterway - which by the way, is also accessible to you should you wish to bring a boat. Swimming from the docks is quite good - the gentle current of the river prevents any excessive weed build up. You may occasionally see some weed carried into the bay from nearby Canal Lake, but these are easily dealt with.

The local store just down the road has what you need for groceries and the basics. Also just on the other side of that island is the Western Trent Golf Club - a nice little 9-hole track for you to enjoy during your stay. Beaverton, Fenelon Falls and Orillia are all within a half hour's drive, each offering something unique to cottage country visitors.

While Birchview is wonderful for a small family, you may want to also rent the adjacent cottage, allowing for a larger family gathering with separate spaces.

Waterfront

The cottage is located on a deeper section of the Trent-Severn system just west of where the Talbot River flows into Canal Lake. It has good swimming for adults as well as shallow entry swimming for children, with a soft, silty bottom, and a few rocks. Off the dock the water is approximately 6' deep.

Trivia

The nearby town of Beaverton was first settled in 1822. It was originally called Calder's Mills (after an early miller), then Mill Town and Milton until it was renamed Beaverton when the post office was opened in 1835. (Source - Wikipedia).

This beautiful vacation home is located on Chemong Lake, just 10- 15 minutes away from Peterborough and about 1.5 hours from Toronto. This all season, four bedroom cozy vacation home is ideal for those who are looking for a modern, very comfortable and well equipped 'home' on the lake, ideal for families (max 6 people).

The area around dock is not ideal for swimming due to weed build up.

It is a Fisherman's paradise with ample opportunity to catch smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, walleye, yellow perch, Carp, Muskellunge as well as a number of Panfish.

Go for a swim, catch fish right off the dock, canoe to the nearby marsh for some bird watching, take a nap in the huge screened-in porch, or visit the nine-hole golf course five minutes away. This cozy cottage is located in a small waterfront community. It sits on a large 1 acre fenced lot which makes it safe for young children and dogs. There is water access across the road for launching the water toys provided (canoe and kayaks).
Relax in the hammock that sits next to the fire pit, or have a BBQ on the large deck off the back of the house.
Come the evening on chilly nights, sit and watch a movie infront of the wood stove.

The space
Avery Point Road is one of the more unique roads in all of cottage country. Bisecting the east and west sides of Dalrymple Lake, it creates the unusual feature for its cottage residents in that they they have water on both the front and back of their cottages. In addition to providing the cottage has an unfettered view of sunrises and sunsets, it also means fewer exposures to neighbors. The local love this, and we think you will too.

Located partway along this road is where the Kawartha Lakes cottage rental aptly named Sunrise Sunset Retreat Cottage is located. When you enter the cottage, you are greeted by a large living room, in concert with an open concept dining area that confers privacy and ambience year-round. The main floor also holds 2 bedrooms and a 4-piece bathroom. At the rear of the cottage you’ll find the star attraction – a bright sunroom with windows all around and a view of the western’part of the lake (and sunset–). Downstairs, there is a third bedroom, a 3-piece bathroom, laundry, a delightful family room with a TV, and a games/sports room complete with pool table and dart board.

On the road side of the cottage you'll find the dock, along with two canoes and two kayaks - perfect for exploring the lake.

The cottage is well situated to enjoy the local area. Orillia, the consummate cottage town which many believe inspired Leacock’s “Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town”, lies just 20 minutes away and features all the usual city amenities along with a great selection of restaurants, museums and other attractions. Washago is also just 20 minutes away and makes a nice destination for a meal in a less crowded environment.

Most of all, this cottage is about relaxation. It’s great value, close to the GTA. Bring your bathing suit – leave your worries.

Gil-Mar Resort is a spacious property with multiple docks, a small beach, large pool, volleyball and shuffleboard court. Swimming off the dock is good as is fishing out in the lake. A bon fire pit is also available down by the lake.

We have 2 cottages for rent, the Spruce cottage is a 2bd/2bth and the Hemlock cottage (this listing) is a 3bd/1bth. Golf courses nearby and Bobcaygeon is great for shopping.

Gil-Mar was originally built in the 1930's. Has some great history and a great spot for sunsets over the lake! Please note the cottage is a house-keeping cottage. We provide dishes and toaster and oven, fridge and bbq. Please bring your own linen including beach towels (beds have a bed cover and pillows). No tvs,AC, wifi or phones are provided in the cottages. If the forecast is hot please consider bringing fans.
NOTE: tap water is non potable, please bring drinking water with you.

Bayview Retreat is a spacious, 2 level waterfront four-season 3 bedroom, 5 bed, 2 bath 1390sqft home on a peaceful bay setting with amazing views and wildlife! 200ft x 95ft property on the waterfront for year round fun, relaxation and local adventures.

Bayview has 2 full floors with lots of space for everyone, excellent Wifi (in and outside on property), open concept living/dining and kitchen with cathedral ceilings, 58 inch flat screen smart tv upstairs and 42 inch downstairs (bring your own Netflix/home cable provider account info to sign in/we do not include cable but have Amazon stick).

The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances, glassware, napkins, dishes, baking pans, serving platters etc so that you can enjoy large family style meals.

The upper level indoor dining table can seat 8 adults comfortably or 6 adults plus up to 2 children/ downstairs 3 in 1 table seats 8. Outdoor dining table seats 6. 2 sun Lounge chairs. Picnic table and 10 muskoka outdoor chairs for waterfront/firepit.

Our guests have commented that we’ve thought of everything (we actually stay in our home so it’s equipped as if you lived here too!).

There are a total of 3 bedrooms (2 upper, 1 lower) with comfy beds and luxurious linens and two full bathrooms. There are 5 beds including a daybed in the lower living room that pulls out to king bed. This way if there’s couples or parents with teens each can have their own sleeping space.

One bathroom with shower/tub with grab bars is on the upper level; other bathroom has walk in shower. New LG large stacked washer and dryer in upper floor bathroom.

The lower level features another spacious second living / games room with 3 in 1 pool, ping pong / dining games table, large sectional sofa, flat screen tv and modern electric fireplace.

On upper level, you will find a walkout to 325 sq foot deck/patio with gas bbq, and a 6 seater dining table set/sun umbrella and 2 loungers (in summer) with great views anytime of the year. Perfect for coffee, a glass of wine, reading a book, sunrise and bird watching.

Activities at the house: cards, games, books and outdoor activities (badminton frisbee, soccer ball, tournament ready horseshoe pits and horseshoes, 4 pairs snow shoes) as well as weights, jump rope and floor mat to get in a work out.

Expansive yard (200 x 95 ft) for lounging, fire pit with chairs and picnic table, plenty of space for pitching a tent for the kids and playing games/activities/sports for family members of all ages. Lots of wildlife - birds, chipmunks, squirrels, ducks, geese. You can pull up a trailer along side the house with small boat. Easy walk back and forth to the bay and waterfront. Also you can go for long walks along the bay shore.

Ideal for multigenerational family getaways. Something for everyone.

Spring/Fall/ Summer - Direct access to our own dock for fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing. We offer 2 kayaks, 1 canoe and safety gear/PFD for 6 adults/1 youth/1 child. Use at your own risk.

The deck, dock and bay is ideal for bird watching and small watercraft as it is an inner bay, weedy, shallow and calm. The water levels vary by season and unfortunately are not under our control.

The water is weedy not ideal for swimming however there are lovely local parks and beaches for swimming and playing within 10-20 min drive - ask for details.

Bring your own small motorized boat - boat launches just 10 min drive away. A trailer can be parked along the side of the property. Boat rentals are available in the area.

Fall activities include country drives to see the changing colours of the leaves, hiking trails, visiting small country towns, wineries and breweries. All within 20 min drive.

Winter activities include snow shoeing (we have 4 sets), sledding around the yard, skating (bring your own - we have shovels to clear the snow), cross country skiing, ice hockey/ice fishing (bring your own hut or tent) or simply walk around the bay along our neighborhood or on the lake (!) when frozen (we include two snow sleds for the kids or kids at heart!) - it’s a favourite activity of ours in the winter.

A few additional location tips - Bayview is located in a small enclave of cottages and homes on a quiet bay which is ideal for watching birds, ducks and geese and enjoying the waterfront, sitting by a campfire at the firepit, sitting on the dock.

The bay is great for kayaking, paddle boats, canoeing, boating, fishing / ice fishing, skating in winter- there are numerous beaches close by for swimming, picnicking. Please bring your own beach towels and gear.

Boat rentals also available in area through Kawartha Adventures and other vendors. Please inquire if you need help finding.

The space
The Rustic River Cottage is 700 sqft. Accommodates 1 to 7 guest comfortably. Interior has a beautiful rustic look with cedar walls and a perfect mix of modern touches. 60" TV with free amazon video and much more. Cottage is well maintained. Kitchen is stocked with dishes, pots, cups and coffee maker, and a water cooler. Large deck with a big backyard and a beautiful view of the river. There is two friendly dogs that may bark to say hello to you on the right side neighbours. There is a fence that is open at both ends. Dogs use an invisible fence collar technology and do not come over to our property. They get used to strangers fast and go quiet very quick. Backyard is semi private. Neighbours are rarely outside and are not too close to you. There is also a boat launch available 2 minutes down the road.

The space
Ideal for both summer and winter activities.

The cottage sleeps 8-10. 2 Queen size beds in 2 bedrooms, 4 twin beds in 2 other bedrooms respectively. 2 bedrooms are on the upper level and 2 are on the lower level as shown in the pictures. Couch/Floor mattresses are available for guest use. (Additional guest fee applies for more than 8 people). Maximum 10 guests allowed.

Light a fire in the fire pit or socialize on the deck. Stargaze in the evening.

In summer, you are also welcome to bring your own kayaks/canoes/inflatables as the cottage is located steps away (2 min walk) from the lake.

In Winter, Lake Scugog is great for ice fishing and winter activities like Snowmobiling/ATVs.

The Lake Scugog Valentia Sandbar beach is also 10 minutes drive.
