- "We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Balsam Resort and plan to go back! Our room was on the second floor of the main (old) building and had a terrace with a beautiful view of the lake. The terrace faced away from all the cottages and was wonderfully quiet and private. The room was a little shabby but was clean and had a well-equipped kitchen with everything we needed for a long weekend stay. The beach was steps away with plenty of lounge chairs and picnic tables and lots of room to relax in the shade when the sun gets too hot. Our Canada Day long weekend visit included a performance by a live band (!) and a terrific fireworks display. I would totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway within 2 hours of the city - and no Hwy 400 traffic!"

- "The condo was clean and had everything you needed. However the didn't tell us that construction was going on. Very loud. Also the ad didn't say it was 4th floor, and it should have. The only parking spot was for parking is wheelchair so we had to park in visitors when available. Also I didn't like the fact that I had to make my own bed. A conforter over the mattress isn't enough. I paid enough money that my bed should have been completely made . The shower floor was very slippery, they need some kind of mat in the shower., or a saftey bar to grab onto."

Great apartment with two queen beds and two sofa beds with furnished kitchen and bathroom.6 people sleep easily and two parking space available near to the an hour drive from Toronto .nearby all amenities available .

- "Very nice place" - "Overpowering air freshener trying to cover cigarette smell. No banister on 8 step entrance. Damaged thermostats. Baseboard heater in bathroom has exposed wires. No towels and only one sheet on one bed. All furniture and linens looked like student dorm cast offs. Obviously units were meant for low income rentals. No response to email, had to phone contact # to get check in info. Response was a text. We had booked for 3 nights, only stayed 1. Unit is currently being advertised as a 3 bedroom, but only a 2 bedroom unit. Just because you put couches that someone could sleep on in the living room, doesn't make it a bedroom. Bedrooms should have doors! Can't believe VRBO books for slum landlords."

The host family live in the same property, but each unit is private with separate entrances. The livestock barn is about 300 feet away from the house, not visible from the house. Decent Internet for rural areas. 50 Mbps Internet download speed and 3 Mbps upload speed. The whole property runs electricity only with the state -of-the-art heating and cooling system, which significantly improves the comfort and safety and create no emission or fire danger.

Fenelon falls is a festive town, where special events are always celebrated. Fire works from the park blast into the sky on Canada Day, Labour Day and "Santa Day". the Fenelon Fair visits the town annually in July. If you have kids, you won't want to miss Santa Day. The entire town transforms into a magical Christmas town, where crafts, treats, snacks and face painting are provided from the local venders, hot apple cider, a petting zoo, pony rides and horse-drawn carriage rides are provided around town. Canada Day is a huge celebration as well, stop by the public beach for games and activities, Live music and treats.

The condo is dog friendly. Dogs must be on a leash at all times while on the property. Please pick up after your dog. A dog wash station is located on the ground floor to wash your furry friend.

We aim to be eco-friendly, and instead of polluting the earth with plastic single use water bottles, reusable water bottles are provided! Fill them with cold, fresh filtered water from the fridge. Bring them with you on your travels to the beach, on your hike and around town. Please return them and wash them in the dishwasher when finished. We like to promote sustainability.

A yoga mat is provided for your use. Please spray with mild cleaner (Vinegar&water spray- provided- under left sink in Master bathroom) and wipe with a paper towel after use. Thank-you!
