At the end of the day I would not stay here again. However, it isnt because of the property itself. Rather, unless you like to golf or own a boat, there isnt anything meaningful to do here. You have to drive 1 to 1.5 hours away for anything fun, again, other than golf or boat on the lake. For being the Carribean of Michigan, my expectations were a lot higher and I ended up pretty disappointed. We did, however, enjoy the few things we were about to do... trail riding over an hour away and boat rental on Torch Lake about 25 minutes away. We will choose another location next time."

The space
You will be renting a cozy new room in the lower level (finished basement-clean, dry and bright)of our newly remodeled cabin home. A family residence. There are two separate bedrooms with comfort queen beds for rent (one has an additional twin pullout comfort floor mattress) in the space with a new tastefully designed full bath and beverage area. All is crisp and clean. We have a Keurig for your complimentary use. Complimentary shampoo and conditioner, bodywash in shower. A toaster and microwave. There is no stove top nor sink for washing
There is a sitting area, and each room has a T.V.

The washer and dryer are for private use only. You will encounter my family or myself now and then at the laundry. Take your provided towels into your room to hang on hangers in your closet to reuse, please, as you are able. Please do not use any cupboards, drawers etc. outside of your room. Please take off your shoes before entering bedrooms.
There is a boot tray. Please rinse out your shower after use with cup found in the shower. It was so much appreciated. As it is shared, shower with another guest, and although we try to clean in between, we can not always time that accordingly.

One more thing. When retiring for the evening, please turn off lights not in use and make sure the exterior door to the outside up the stairs is locked.

Located two blocks from a beautiful public beach on Grand Traverse Bay and in the heart of the downtown neighborhood, this is a well kept and comfortable room that has its own private bathroom. Also, we have a nice front porch for your pleasure.

The space
A cozy home in the center of town, it was built in the late 1800's. This room is located on the second floor next to a private bathroom. It's large window overlooks Washington Street and has a queen sized bed, lots of closet space and a table and 2 chairs. You have your own coffee and tea bar outside of your room.

Two blocks from the beach, we live in what we think is the best part of downtown Traverse City... walkable to everything! Located within 3 blocks of the library, downtown, bike rental, grocery, restaurants, bike rail to trail, and a city park with play structures for children.

More information

Our home is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families. Come and enjoy a comfortable place to relax. Our place is in the center of Traverse City but it feels like a little oasis from all of the summertime city activity. It is a great launching pad for activities that abound throughout the Traverse City area: Relax on the front porch . Use of the garage is available for bike storage.

Interaction with guests

We will be going about our regular business in the back of the house, and will be around should you need anything. We have done a lot of traveling and staying in guesthouses and are comfortable with sharing part of our home and giving our guests space. And we are also happy to connect and give tips on what to do. We occupy our own private section of the house.

Our location allows you to take easy day trips to area attractions: wine tasting, berry picking, lake hopping, boat rental, sail trips, and small town tours are some of the activities you can do during your stay. Surrounding towns include: Elk Rapids, Suttons Bay, Leland, Glen Arbor, Northport, Frankfort and Mackinac Island. A visit to the Sleeping Bear Sand Dune National Park is a 40 minute drive and a favorite attraction to locals and tourists alike. The Traverse City area has fabulous mountain and road biking and hiking as well. Also, we love the area and happy to share tips on fun things to do and places to go.

We coordinate guest access once we know their arrival time. Sometimes we are here to greet them and other times they can come in on their own.

During your stay
We will definitely be available to our guests if they need anything, but we are also out doing our own thing so communication often occurs via the AirBnB app or text. We like to meet our guests and say hello, but sometimes we don't cross paths much at all.
