My husband and I were in town for one night for a concert and walked to Wings Event center. It’s about a mile but seem to work out well. This was book way in advance and I got a great in the price. While others live in the house along with a friendly golden/Sheltie dog, we do our best to respect your privacy and generally keep quiet. As this room is the farthest from the entrances of the house it is the quietest room.

Guests will have access the the full house including a washer/dryer in the basement. Note that one bathroom is being remodeled and therefore, for the time being, the shower in the basement is the only shower in the house. This is the perfect time to rent a nice space for a reasonable price while the bathroom remodeling is being completed. We will provide you with towels and bathroom amenities you may have forgotten.

Welcome to our classic 1950’s daylight walk out ranch style home with a Breezeway casual entrance in addition to a main front entrance.

You will be literally one block from WMU’s campus in a beautiful and quiet residential neighborhood where we have resided for over 10 years. You will be one block from a bus route stop that’s quite reliable. Several restaurants are also within walking distance. Ask us about our favorites :-)

Your room is the middle room of three on the top floor. It has two doors, two closets, two lamps and two windows. It has a table, easy chair, night table and dresser.

December 2020: your room now has locking doors now as part of our effort to keep upgrading.

Your room is steps away from a half-bath, overlooks a rolling hills backyard.

Spring 2021: Please note that we are excited about a decision to embark on a complete makeover to our main bathroom yet ask that you excuse the temporary inconvenience. During this time we have created a fully functional, tiled shower in our laundry room (also with locks as of Spring 2021) with fantastic water pressure. Yes, the cinder blocks that form the shower surround may look a little like funky army barracks, painted and waterproofed. We keep it clean, simple, bright and functional and you can still run a load of laundry while you shower without affecting the water pressure!! How’s that for hydraulic engineering :-)

Red bud is tucked away above the 2 car attached garage. It has an AC window unit so its very comfortable in the summer months. It is abit more private being on the second floor of the home. One full bath and two half baths are all shared with the 1 to 4 possible guests sharing the home. There are ten wooden built in dresser drawers to add more floor space. A large built in book shelve, a work desk and two closets. New wood plank flooring. Freshly painted. See house rules.

Red Bud guest has entire upper unit away from the other 3 bedrms. Keyless entry into home and bedroom. Guests have entire access to the whole house, except 4 private bdrms. All 4 bedrooms are single occupancy only.

- please keep kitchen clean at all times. It’s important to clean up your meal prep and wash dishes and put away after each meal so kitchen is ready and cleared for next guest to use.
Rinse all trash & recycling. Grease scrapped into trash rather than sink. No liquids in trash please!

-pantry contains numbered separate shelves for each guest. Use labeled, air tight totes for food items. Refrigerator should be divided in four separate spaces for each guests items.

- empty kitchen trash into outside bin every couple of days. Trash bins must be wheeled to street curb for pick up Tuesday evening for Wednesday pick up. Recycle bin goes to curb every other wk. Google search City of Portage recycling program for more info.
