The other guest were enamored with their accomodations and thought the place was just perfect for our weekend together. The deck was one of several favorite gathering places. The fire pit out back was an instant hit. Everything was beyond our expectations and the hosts were very responsive to any inquiry we had. We hope to stay again and look forward to it!"

- "This place is *everything*! It's located right on a gorgeous lake with a usable dock, floating raft, paddleboard, and hammock. The huge balcony is perfect on a summer evening. I rented this place for myself and 12 other friends/family for my 40th birthday weekend and with 9 bedrooms and dozens of beds, we all basically had our own rooms which was a major plus!! The house was clean and organized and had TONS of communal space for hanging out. It was beautiful, spacious, and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is also really big and perfect for cooking. We had an absolute blast staying at this place and I highly highly recommend it for anyone planning a fun weekend at the lake with a big group !"

- "The house was the cleanest one we have ever rented. Beds were comfortable. Lots of extra towels including beach towels. Loved the screened in deck although the weather was a bit cool and I did not bring enough warmer clothes. Used the washer and dryer with no issues. Would have used the 3 lovely deck areas more if weather had cooperated. Lol. Great fire pit and lots of wood. Really nice house. Welcome basket was a nice touch and much enjoyed. Thank you."

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful lakefront home.
Located on a small private lake, walk out to the water and dock.
Room for everyone!
Great Lake for swimming & boating, and fishing!
Bring your own boat - or enjoy our kayaks, row boat, or paddle board.
Awesome ice fishing lake as well.
Plenty of space for a family here!
-Main floor entry through the side door and you will walk into a beautiful wood home. Completely remodeled and really nicely decorated. It's cozy and open and so inviting.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with all the basic cooking utensils & dishes. Stainless steel appliances.
Cute full size bathroom. No tub but a nice sized shower.
There is a full size dining table that seats 6 with 4 chairs and a bench.
The back part of the main floor has the Master Bedroom. It's super quiet and cozy in there! It has a queen size bed and a TV with room to hang any items up you may need to.
-There is a beautiful circular steel staircase that takes you up to the 2nd story bedroom & deck.
Guests should know that the staircase is kind of on the smaller size and comes into the second story on an angled roof. Anyone tall, that has trouble with stairs, or small kids will likely not be comfortable with this.
-Upstairs is a bedroom that was a loft and is set up with a TV area, then there are 3 twin beds (one is a trundle bed), and a full size bed.
There is an Upper Deck on the back of the home that is off the upstairs area. It does have a railing but not across the steep stairs. There is a nice patio set with table and umbrella, a hammock, and a charcoal grill up there. We are still adding to it, so there will be string lights eventually. It is super quiet and the most private area of the property-also some of our friends & guests favorite spot!
-The outside property, the best part!
The house has a small front deck outside the sliders that overlook the lake. There is a small space for parking between a rock wall and the home.
The lake is directly across a small, very low traffic paved road.
Our dock is the aluminum one to the right of the telephone pole.
To the left of the dock is a nice sandy beach area perfect for swimming.
On the right of the dock you can tie the kayaks, or any boats you bring up to the dock. There is great fish cover over there as well.
The fire pit is right near the dock. Small amount of wood is provided by us.
-Toys
We provide 2 kayaks, a paddle board, and a row boat for all guests. We currently only have two adult life jackets.
There are random floats available as well.
Cornhole is available for guests use.
Please keep in mind prior to booking that fire wood is provided seasonally. Also, we do not do snow removal unless there is a large snowfall in which case we will have the small driveway plowed out. We do provide a snow shovel and salt for the steps if it is needed.
Also, our lake does get sprayed about three times a summer to keep weeds under control. When spray is done it is advised to not swim in the water for 24 hours.
The schedule for the 2022 summer is:
6/13
7/18
8/15
Home sits on a pretty small lot. Neighbors on the south side are very close. The back deck offers great privacy, but the fun is out front on the water!
Please see above regarding parking and snow removal.
Also, there is not a generator so if the weather takes out the power we do not have a backup option.
2-3 times a year in the summer the lake is sprayed for weed control, I will try and get the schedule in the spring and update the listing so any guests will be aware of it.
Centrally located between Hastings and Battle Creek, Laurabelle Lake House is located on Mill Lake, it is a small public lake (though no one knows it's public!) on the south end of Barry County.
This is in a very tight knit community of year-round, snow birds, and cottages.
It might be a smaller lake, but it's very clean and has an undeveloped end that has abundant wildlife.
Shallow around the shores, it drops off slowly in most places and is about 40ft deep in the middle which makes for awesome swimming & boating.
We have great fishing (crappie, bass, blue gill, sunfish, perch) along with turtles, water fowl (including cranes & herons) and our favorite - the loon! We have a mating pair on this lake!
The summer is the best, but the ice fishing here is top notch as well!
There is a small general store that has all the basics along with takeout subs & pizza a few miles from the home. Otherwise the next closest places for food are about a 10 minute drive. We do get grocery delivery services from Instacart & Shipt and we can get some food delivered through Grubhub and other such delivery options.
