At the end of the day I would not stay here again. However, it isnt because of the property itself. Rather, unless you like to golf or own a boat, there isnt anything meaningful to do here. You have to drive 1 to 1.5 hours away for anything fun, again, other than golf or boat on the lake. For being the Carribean of Michigan, my expectations were a lot higher and I ended up pretty disappointed. We did, however, enjoy the few things we were about to do... trail riding over an hour away and boat rental on Torch Lake about 25 minutes away. We will choose another location next time."

Located two blocks from a beautiful public beach on Grand Traverse Bay and in the heart of the downtown neighborhood, this is a well kept and comfortable room that has its own private bathroom. Also, we have a nice front porch for your pleasure.

The space
A cozy home in the center of town, it was built in the late 1800's. This room is located on the second floor next to a private bathroom. It's large window overlooks Washington Street and has a queen sized bed, lots of closet space and a table and 2 chairs. You have your own coffee and tea bar outside of your room.

Two blocks from the beach, we live in what we think is the best part of downtown Traverse City... walkable to everything! Located within 3 blocks of the library, downtown, bike rental, grocery, restaurants, bike rail to trail, and a city park with play structures for children.

More information

Our home is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families. Come and enjoy a comfortable place to relax. Our place is in the center of Traverse City but it feels like a little oasis from all of the summertime city activity. It is a great launching pad for activities that abound throughout the Traverse City area: Relax on the front porch . Use of the garage is available for bike storage.

Interaction with guests

We will be going about our regular business in the back of the house, and will be around should you need anything. We have done a lot of traveling and staying in guesthouses and are comfortable with sharing part of our home and giving our guests space. And we are also happy to connect and give tips on what to do. We occupy our own private section of the house.

Other things to note

Our location allows you to take easy day trips to area attractions: wine tasting, berry picking, lake hopping, boat rental, sail trips, and small town tours are some of the activities you can do during your stay. Surrounding towns include: Elk Rapids, Suttons Bay, Leland, Glen Arbor, Northport, Frankfort and Mackinac Island. A visit to the Sleeping Bear Sand Dune National Park is a 40 minute drive and a favorite attraction to locals and tourists alike. The Traverse City area has fabulous mountain and road biking and hiking as well. Also, we love the area and happy to share tips on fun things to do and places to go.

Guest access
We coordinate guest access once we know their arrival time. Sometimes we are here to greet them and other times they can come in on their own.

During your stay
We will definitely be available to our guests if they need anything, but we are also out doing our own thing so communication often occurs via the AirBnB app or text. We like to meet our guests and say hello, but sometimes we don't cross paths much at all.

Guests can walk in our very peaceful neighborhood or work out in the basement. We have an elliptical and a smith machine AND a swing !

They have access to the kitchen and have some herbal tea! Please request access ahead so we can social distance.

Guests can request access to laundry room next to the kitchen if they want to wash their dirty clothes.

This is a duplex with responsible year round tenants. This rental is located below one of the units, so you may hear the occasional footsteps or a dog bark when people come home. Everyone works during the day and is not into partying.
The neighbor to the right has a cat (they let outside) and the neighbors above you have a cat (indoor only) and one dog.

Guest access
the backyard and gazebo located behind the garage is open to guests. It is not fenced, so dogs should be on a leash.

People much taller than 6 feet may not be as comfortable since our ceilings are approximately 8 feet and in some areas where there is ductwork they are only 7 feet.

This is a fully furnished open floor plan efficiency located on 40 acres of farmland. There is a generator to assure power in case of a power outage. It is equipped with HD premium Dish,Wi Fi, and a full kitchen with all appliances & housewares. A well provides the water, and is a very good quality. The hot water is on demand. It is located next to a pond and fire pit. It is not suitable for children under twelve years of age and maximum occupancy is two.
