The leaves were just beginning to show the onset of fall with few hues of red and orange. We took many walks around the property enjoying the woods and lake. The resort was quiet but people hanging out at the beach or fisherman taking their boats early in the morning. The pool and spa were used a few times. It should open early. The location is admittedly remote, which is part of the point of booking a cabin or campsite in this area. There are a couple of restaurants, a grocery store, etc in Thorp, about 15 miles north. However we cooked most of our meals on the grills provided. The man-made lake/pond next to the cabin is small, but still fun (for a small raft for the kids or catch and release fishing off the pier). The resort is located between two lakes (Mead Lake, 5 miles away, and Rock Damn Lake, 10 miles) that have larger beaches and fishing areas. We went to both, and I would recommend Rock Damn."

- "We stayed in the Bear cabin which was very clean upon arrival and welcoming. The patio has a table and chairs outside which was very helpful as we forgot our camping chairs! Every interaction with the owners was very friendly and helpful. Grills look nice but could use a little TLC. Making sure they have a full tank and that they are working. Between two nearby we couldn't get them going. They had extra propane tanks but by the time we realized we were too hungry and cooked inside instead. One was empty, the other wouldn't stay lit. We saw chickens roaming nearby. Watched the sunset on the dock. A very peaceful place! "
