This waterfront cabin, originally built in the 1940s and lovingly updated, blends rustic charm with modern comforts. It accommodates up to 12 guests across 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The roomy living room features a custom stone wood-burning fireplace, while the kids’ loft area offers books, games, and an extra pull-out sleeper. Ensuring plenty of space for everyone!

Fishing from our dock is for anglers of all ages and skill levels, with opportunities to catch panfish, bass (limited), catfish/carp and northern pike.

Launch your own boat or rent one (Action Marine or H and M Outdoors) at Fischer County Park Boat Launch (small fee) and moor it at our home's large dock/pier. We recommend that boats have engine trim/tilt and biminis that lower to navigate our channel's viaduct and sometimes shallow water.

Lake Activities:
Browns Lake is a fully recreational 400 acre lake, perfect for swimming, year round fishing, and boating. Its clear waters are ideal for all water enthusiasts. Enjoy access to two beaches: a public beach at Fischer Park with a boat launch (less than a 5 minute drive—- $3 cash per person ages 6+) and a private community beach (a short walk away, free), featuring sand-bottom swimming, volleyball, and breathtaking sunsets.

Newly renovated inside , a quaint 1450 square feet that includes all the comforts of home. Featuring a full bath, new hot tub, stone stacked fireplace and much more. Bedrooms are bright and cozy , tastefully decorated with hand crafted log furniture and accessories, the master suite has a queen size bed and guest bedroom has full size. There are 2 sofa sleepers upstairs in the loft area. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave and all other kitchen tools needed for your stay. There is plenty of room on the deck to dine outside, or sit back for an evening cocktail. Sit back and watch a movie, play a game with the family, or read a book. We have stocked the house with family friendly movies, games, books and activities that our family enjoys together and we hope you will as well.

We feel it is the little things that matter when you are on vacation and we have tried to cover all the bases. Air conditioning, ceiling fans in the living room, wireless internet, linens for all beds and sofa sleepers, backyard garden and fire pit, large deck, hot tub, fully equipped kitchen including coffee, sugar, and most condiments/spices, bath towels, hair dryer... if you think you need it, we probably have it! In addition, the grocery store is located just 3 min away at the end of our street.

There is plenty to do in the area no matter your age, interests or time of the year. Delavan Lake is right across the street from the entrance to this wonderful location. It's truly the best of both worlds to be in your own space away from it all and yet close enough to the best this area has to offer! Read a book in the gazebo with hanging swings or on one of two covered porches. The outdoor space also includes a patio with a fire pit, grill, and seating along with a table to dine at. The inside includes two cozy gas fireplaces, a washer and dryer, fully stocked kitchen, reading balcony, and several great work spaces. Stay in and watch a movie by the fire. Make yourself at home!

Noise Levels : This is a residential neighborhood with neighbors that live lakeside year round. We request acceptable noise levels and to maintain the exterior of the home in a clean manner to maintain good neighbor relations so that we can continue to use our lakehouse as a short term rental.

We host a noise/cigarette smoke detection system on both floors. This system is utilized to make sure that neighbors will not be bothered in overnight hours while keeping the home free of unwanted odors.

Pets must be potty-trained and well mannered for duration of stay.

Boat ramp is about 500ft away at the beach area. Our pier can hold boats up to 23' but cost to use pier is $25.00 per night and boat insurance is required prior to stay.

These Scout cabins were originally built in the 1940s on the grounds of Camp Pottawatomie Hills. We've carefully brought them back to life in a way that retains their original character, but ensures you have a modern, comfortable lodging experience. The Highlands campsite has three air-conditioned cedar cabins with beds that sleep up to 10 adults. An additional 6-8 kids could comfortably sleep on camping pads on the cabin floor (not included) for a small fee. The Highlands includes a private fire pit, gas grill, two hammocks, and a sunshade. Inside the cabins, guests are provided with plush mattresses, air conditioning, electricity, a coffee maker and a refrigerator for the group. The Highlands is your perfect Wisconsin campsite with cabins for any friend or family getaway! The Highlands is located at Camp Kettlewood, a private 80 acre Historic Girl Scout Camp restored for getaways for families and friends. Accommodations:

This charming waterfront cabin, originally built in the 1940s and thoughtfully updated, combines rustic charm with modern amenities. Accommodating up to 12 guests across 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, it features a spacious living room with a custom stone wood-burning fireplace (decoration only, not for use) and a cozy kids’ loft with books, games, and an extra pull-out sleeper. The cabin’s original woodwork and warm interiors create a welcoming atmosphere.

The large dining room seats up to 12, and the fully equipped kitchen includes modern stainless steel appliances, an air fryer, toaster oven, and microwave.

Outside, enjoy grilling on the patio with ample seating and provided outdoor seating, dishes, as well as propane tanks.

For those needing to work, there are two dedicated workspaces, one in Bedroom 1 with an elegant desk and natural light, and another in Bedroom 4 with a built-in desk and window.

Outdoor features:

Wake up to the soft light of dawn filtering through the windows and step onto the patio for a stunning view of the channel and lake. Prepare to spend most of your time enjoying the great outdoors with a large patio equipped with a grill and ample seating, overlooking the serene channel.

Launch kayaks, paddle boards, a pedal boat, and a canoe from the private dock or enjoy a game of cornhole, giant Jenga, or Connect Four in the spacious yard. At night, gather around the fire pit by the water.

Fishing from our private dock offers a chance to catch panfish, bass (limited), catfish/carp and northern pike.


Lake Activities:
Browns Lake is a fully recreational 400 acre lake, perfect for swimming, year round fishing, and boating. Its clear waters are ideal for all water enthusiasts.

Enjoy access to two beaches: a public beach at Fischer Park with a boat launch (less than a 5 minute drive—- $3 cash per person ages 6+) and a private community beach (a short walk away, free), featuring sand-bottom swimming, volleyball, and breathtaking sunsets.

Launch your own boat at Fischer County Park Boat Launch (small fee) and moor it at our home's large dock/pier.

We recommend that boats have engine trim/tilt and biminis that lower to navigate our channel's viaduct and sometimes shallow water.

Come watch the FREE Aquaducks shows Thursdays at Fischer Park (Memorial Day through Labor Day).


Local Attractions:
Conveniently located minutes from downtown Burlington, explore local shops, restaurants, and cafes. On Thursdays in the summer, visit the Burlington Farmers Market for local produce and crafts.

Golfers can enjoy the nearby Browns Lake Golf Course. Nature lovers can explore local walking and biking trails, and families can visit the Burlington Community Aquatic Center, a fun outdoor waterpark.

In winter, enjoy ice fishing on Browns Lake, ice skating, or head nearby to Wilmot Ski Hill just 20 minutes away.

All areas are available except a few owner's closets and the basement utility room.

Guests may use the propane gas grill, water toys, firewood at their own risk.

Other things to note
-This is an older house that has been modernized as much as possible, though a few quirks remain. We've made many updates while trying to keep the charm of the original cabin's craftsmanship.

-The basement is not remodeled and currently houses the washer, dryer, and Peloton Bike.

-The backyard has an incline and stairs/steps.

-The fireplace is decoration only. We do not allow use of fireplace during your stay.

-Please note that the channel is not swimmable; it is intended for the use of water toys and boats only; however, you can access the lake and some great swimming with a quick kayak ride out of the channel.

-This property allows for a maximum of 12 guests. Violation of this rule may result in a fine.

-Person booking the property must be staying at the property the duration of the trip.

**Please note: Violating our house rules may result in a $500 fine.**

Seasonal Note
As with many lakefront or cabin-style homes, a few harmless bugs may occasionally make their way indoors—sometimes through plumbing or near drains, especially after rain or in humid weather. We have regular pest control and keep the home well-maintained to minimize this, but it’s a common part of staying close to nature!

By participating in swimming, hiking, or using kayaks or the Peloton bike, you acknowledge and accept that these activities involve inherent risks. You assume full responsibility for any bodily injury that may occur and agree to hold the owner harmless.

You are aware that swimming, hiking, and using kayaks can be particularly dangerous for children without proper supervision, for individuals with health risks, and for those who are pregnant, intoxicated, or under the influence of drugs or medication.

You agree to be fully responsible for any accidents that may occur. You understand and accept the risks outlined above and agree to assume all responsibility for yourself and any members of your party. You waive any claims against the owner for accidents or incidents arising from swimming, hiking, or using the kayaks.

The space
The Hideaway is situated on 8 acres of private Wisconsin countryside. The property is overflowing with both indoor and outdoor amenities. The home itself is split into 3 floors, with 3 of the bedrooms on the main floor. Also on the main floor is the fully-loaded game room, chef's kitchen, living room with gas fireplace, and updated laundry room. The lower level houses the in-home movie theater with a 72" LED TV, 14' fireplace, 8-person conference room with printer, 55" TV, and whiteboard, and another king-sized bedroom and bathroom. Finally, you will find two bedrooms upstairs with their own private bathroom and great views of the property throughout.

The cabin also features front and rear decks with multiple seating arrangements, an outdoor gas grill, and the huge boulder fire pit - all perfect for entertaining or for just enjoying the beautiful midwestern air. Sit back on the outdoor couches and watch the action on the full sized beach volleyball court and pickelball match down below. The game room has indoor shuffleboard, ping-pong, foosball, air hockey, and board games for you to enjoy. All of this is set on 8 beautiful acres of serene countryside filled with beautiful sites. And you can enjoy it all from the comfort of the outdoor furniture, the deluxe 10-jet hot tub, or roasting s'mores around the campfire! Also feel free to test out our brand new pickle ball court!
