Venture just twenty minutes from the City of Adelaide into the beautiful Adelaide Hills and you can find the State Heritage listed Morialta Barns. The Barns were built around 1847 by John Baker, the second premier of South Australia, as part of his Morialta House Estate at Norton Summit. After falling into disrepair they have recently been undergoing restoration and conversion to bed and breakfast accommodation and we are now ready to welcome guests to the property.

The Barns are located on an eight acre property where they sit on the side of a picturesque valley overlooking the Fourth Creek as it winds its way down towards the Morialta Falls. Both the Heysen and Yurrebilla Trails pass through the property on their way either into the Morialta Conservation Park or across to Mount Lofty and beyond.

The Barns can accommodate up to eight guests in three separate buildings. The Well Room has accommodation for two guests; The Loft has accommodation for two guests; and The Bakery can accommodate up to four additional guests. Any group size from one to eight will be able to stay at The Barns, so if you are a smaller group you don’t need to book the entire property but if you have a larger group you can still enjoy your own space. All three buildings have direct access onto the private walled courtyard where you can relax and enjoy the rustic heritage surrounds and views across the valley. The Cottage on "Tintookie Vineyards" sits on a slope in the middle of a 17 ha property in an area called Blewitt Springs, in the heart of the McLaren Vale Wine district.
It is a small open plan house with lots of light and views from every window. The bedrooms are a reasonable size, one with a king size bed and the other with a queen and a king single bed. The main room is quite spacious with a kitchen, pantry, dining area and a TV/reading lounge area with a freestanding wood heater. It is in a very private and serene setting with wonderful views down the coast and as far as Rapid Heads. It is surrounded by trees, vineyards and bird song. There are lovely outdoor areas for eating or sitting and relaxing.
We would encourage guests to wander around the property, keeping in mind that it is a working vineyard.
We are 10 minutes from McLaren Vale and from great wineries, restaurants and coffee.

Blewitt Springs is about 45 minutes from the CBD but very rural.
If you are coming from the city, come up Flagstaff Hill Rd and through Clarendon. A shorter drive and way more picturesque.

Heysen Hideaway dates from the 1860’s and pre-dates the township of Summertown itself. It is the last of three cottages built to accommodate the market gardeners who produced fruit and vegetables for the expanding new city of Adelaide. Built from local materials, the walls are constructed of a combination of creek stones and mud. The window frames and ceilings in the old part of the cottage are original with a sympathetic extension being added to the rear of the cottage in the 1970’s. Whilst so much of the cottage is original, the rooms are light, bright, warm and quiet – the perfect location for a home away from home.

Venture just twenty minutes from the City of Adelaide into the beautiful Adelaide Hills and you can find the State Heritage listed Morialta Barns. The Barns were built around 1847 by John Baker, the second premier of South Australia, as part of his Morialta House Estate at Norton Summit. After falling into disrepair they have recently been undergoing restoration and conversion to bed and breakfast accommodation and we are now ready to welcome guests to the property.

The Barns are located on an eight acre property where they sit on the side of a picturesque valley overlooking the Fourth Creek as it winds its way down towards the Morialta Falls. Both the Heysen and Yurrebilla Trails pass through the property on their way either into the Morialta Conservation Park or across to Mount Lofty and beyond.

The Barns can accommodate up to eight guests in three separate buildings. The Well Room has accommodation for two guests; The Loft has accommodation for two guests; and The Bakery can accommodate up to four additional guests. Any group size from one to eight will be able to stay at The Barns, so if you are a smaller group you don’t need to book the entire property but if you have a larger group you can still enjoy your own space. All three buildings have direct access onto the private walled courtyard where you can relax and enjoy the rustic heritage surrounds and views across the valley. Perhaps with a glass of local wine and a game of petanque (boules) prior to dinner with friends in the courtyard, or maybe before a short stroll up the Heysen Trail to the Scenic Hotel for dinner with sunset views across the city to the coast.

The Loft is the top floor of what is probably the oldest of the barns with views across the valley and Fourth Creek to Morialta Conservation Park. A large ensuite includes luxury amenities, the slow combustion wood heater provides warmth and an open plan lounge and kitchenette allow you to be completely self-contained. Provisions for a full cooked breakfast are provided for your first morning. Stay for two or more nights and you will receive a complimentary bottle of wine from one of our local vineyards.

Venture just twenty minutes from the City of Adelaide into the beautiful Adelaide Hills and you can find the State Heritage listed Morialta Barns. The Barns were built around 1847 by John Baker, the second premier of South Australia, as part of his Morialta House Estate at Norton Summit. After falling into disrepair they have recently been undergoing restoration and conversion to bed and breakfast accommodation and we are now ready to welcome guests to the property.

The Barns are located on an eight acre property where they sit on the side of a picturesque valley overlooking the Fourth Creek as it winds its way down towards the Morialta Falls. Both the Heysen and Yurrebilla Trails pass through the property on their way either into the Morialta Conservation Park or across to Mount Lofty and beyond.

The Barns can accommodate up to eight guests in three separate buildings. The Well Room has accommodation for two guests; The Loft has accommodation for two guests; and The Bakery can accommodate up to four additional guests. Any group size from one to eight will be able to stay at The Barns, so if you are a smaller group you don’t need to book the entire property but if you have a larger group you can still enjoy your own space. All three buildings have direct access onto the private walled courtyard where you can relax and enjoy the rustic heritage surrounds and views across the valley. Perhaps with a glass of local wine and a game of petanque (boules) prior to dinner with friends in the courtyard, or maybe before a short stroll up the Heysen Trail to the Scenic Hotel for dinner with sunset views across the city to the coast.

The Bakery which sits on the edge of the courtyard enjoys views of the valley from the lounge and dining areas downstairs. Originally this building contained the properties kitchen and storeroom downstairs where the original baker’s oven is still in place. Upstairs, which was originally the farm workers accommodation, has now been converted into a bathroom with luxury amenities and two bedrooms (one with a queen bed the other with two singles). A slow combustion wood heater sits in the huge kitchen fireplace in what is now the lounge room. The kitchen/dining room allows you to be self-contained and the fridge will be stocked with provisions for a full breakfast for your first morning. Stay for two or more nights and you will receive a complimentary bottle of wine from one of our local vineyards.

If you’re visiting for one of Adelaide’s great festivals or events The Barns are only twenty minutes from the city; or if you need to take a break from the city you can enjoy the tranquillity of The Barns maybe using them as a base to explore other local towns and regions such as Stirling, Hahndorf or even the Barossa. - "Really nice place to stay, quiet and good views off the balcony. Very little noise as the property is set back from the road. Close to wineries- namely the "Cube" at D'Arenburg- Willunga Farmers market (every Saturday) and great historic pubs. Only 20-30 min drive to Victor Harbour as well. Host is very responsive to messages and provides great info of the Cottage and surrounding places to visit. Would definitlely recommend and stay here again. "

The charming cottage nestled to the rear of the property sleeping 6. Complemented by a large fully fenced yard with established gardens, birdlife and carparking.
There is plenty of outdoor space for kids and pets to play, while the three bedroom cottage is spacious and equipped to ensure you have everything you need to enjoy a relaxing holiday in this fantastic location.

The space
The Salty Dog Beach House has seaside décor throughout with stunning art pieces creating that homely and relaxing holiday vibe. Take a timeout in the spa bath or unwind in the lounge area with free Wi-Fi and Netflix available for guests. The open plan kitchen and dining area is well-equipped with everything to make holiday life easier…fridge/freezer, microwave, stove top with full-size oven, coffee machine, and dishwasher (no fighting over dishes on this holiday!). The cupboards are stocked with crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and all kitchen needs.
This spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom beach house sleeps 6 people – bedroom 1 has a king size bed with walk-in and tv, bedroom 2 has a king size bed with ensuite and sliding-door access to the private rear yard, and bedroom 3 has two single beds. For year-round comfort, there are individual split system air conditioners (heating and cooling) in the open plan kitchen / dining area as well as bedrooms one and two.
The beach house has plenty of space for off-street parking for multiple vehicles (or toys) and a single lockup garage. Quality Bed linen and towels are included and the beds will be freshly made for your arrival. Additional facilities to make your stay comfortable include a washing machine, iron, ironing board, kid’s high chair and portacot.
Being pet-friendly, your well-behaved pets are welcome inside and outside within the secure fully enclosed yard. We know they will love the space. There is a pet bathing station for your use.

FIRE PIT REGULATIONS
There is a fire put for comfort fires, however this is only allowed from Mid April to November, due to fire danger season in the Mt Lofty Ranges and is also subject to CFS Regulations and Total Fire Ban Days.

Wood supplied for a 2 nights stay, additional wood available to purchase from the owner at a cost of $50 per wheelbarrow load.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PADDOCKS & HORSES
Guests are not allowed to enter the paddocks at the property. Horses are often in these paddocks. Full supervision is required, as we wouldn't like anything unforeseen to happen.

RAINWATER / TANK WATER
Please be mindful of water usage, as this property is on rainwater only.

An ideally located 3 bedroom cottage. Close to free tram into the city, bus stop right out the front gate. Cool cafe (mister sunshine) is a short walk away. The awesome Wheatsheaf hotel is the local pub just up the street. You’ll be close to the entertainment centre, cbd, Adelaide oval and many of Adelaides highlights. Thebarton is a really cool suburb and George and Maria’s cottage is perfectly located to take advantage of all it has to offer.

We hope you enjoy our 1880's Mount Torrens renovated stone cottage.

An original and large self contained cottage that has 3 bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen, and plenty of room to relax in the living room overlooking a shiraz vineyard, rose garden, orchard and the rambling Angas Creek.

Conveniently located to many local wineries, the Barossa and Eden Valleys.

The Cottage is located on a working farm.

The property is a single level free standing dwelling with fenced side and front courtyards. There is 1 very small step up to the back door, once within the property there are no steps.

The original homestead circa 1860 began its life as the towns doctors' residence. Fast forward to present day and you will find a charming old cottage with a modern extension that has been thoughtfully designed, surrounded by a peaceful garden setting.
Conveniently located in the heart of McLaren Vale, we are only steps away from all that the region has to offer.
Make yourself home! Take a swim in the pool, cook a BBQ and enjoy a glass of wine under the 170 year old pepper tree.

The space
Cole-Brook New Cottage is the extension of the original historic homestead (Cole-Brook Cottage The Historic House, also available for bookings)
It has been thoughtfully designed and combines a modern touch against the classic features of the old property.

You will fall in love with the living room and its characteristic stone walls and the view out into the front garden and hills beyond. The room is setup for your relaxation with smart TV with Netflix.

The cottage includes a country style kitchenette, with a breakfast table, small bar fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, electric induction small cooker and electric frypan, kettle, toaster and microwave. Outside of the living room you will have access to a private deck with outdoor table and WeberQ.

The house includes 2 bedrooms, both with queen beds and one bathroom (the use of the second bedroom is available for booking of 3 or 4 people)
PLEASE, ADVISE IF YOU BOOK FOR 2 PEOPLE AND YOU NEED 2 BEDROOMS (no extra charges)

Outside the expansive gardens are a joy to behold with slate paths which meander through the front garden. At the rear of the cottage the in-ground solar heated pool is the place to be on a summer day.

The property includes the original homestead right next door, Cole-Brook Cottage Historic House, also available for bookings, so the pool may be shared with other guests from time to time.

2 bikes are available for your use along the Shiraz trail, located only 100m from our front door.
