The space
The cottage was built in 1859 and is Heritage SA and National Trust listed. It has been through many lives over a hundred and forty years, including tea rooms, a library, a mechanics institute, a sweet shop and a few others. Wild Olive Cottage was designed to provide an unforgettable stay for one couple.

Upstairs is a magnificent, Victorian antique, nickel and silver Queen-size bed with high-quality linen. The cozy combustion fireplace (with complimentary wood) is wonderful to sit around on cold nights and there are plenty of things to entertain yourself with - smart TV with Netflix (!), high-speed complimentary WI-FI, a DVD movie library, games, books & a smart speaker to play your favourite music. Within the cottage, there are some beautiful pieces of furniture and artwork, much from local artists.

An internal metal spiral staircase joins the two floors. Downstairs you will find a fully equipped kitchen, the benches are topped with local Mintaro slate and the cupboards are Blackwood. There is an under-bench oven, glass cooktop, microwave, toaster, capsule coffee machine & dishwasher. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for cooking your meals and is supplied with cooking necessities such as cooking oil, salt, pepper, and sugar.

Tickles Cottage was built in 1850 by the cornish miners and is adjacent to Peppertree Cottage in a beautiful Rural Setting.
Cottages can be booked together or separately. Only 2 km south of the historical township of Mintaro in the beautiful Clare Valley. Walking distance to Martindale
Hall and Mintaro Maze. Mintaro has the best country pub, Magpie and Stump for lunches and dinners.
Historical Burra is only half an hour away.
Clare Valley has excellent wineries and the Reisling trail to explore.

There are 3 generous bedrooms, 2 guest bedrooms with queen sized beds, and 2 single beds in the third bedroom, sleeping 6 comfortably (with trundles available on request for up to 8).

There is a large, recently renovated bathroom with heated floors for those cold country mornings, as well as shower over clawfoot tub.

The kitchen is fitted with a full size fridge, dishwasher, large oven and plenty of bench space with room to prepare pizzas for the Italian woodfire pizza oven in the garden.

There are multiple areas outside to enjoy food and wine from the local Clare Valley wineries, as well as a dining room adjacent to the kitchen.

The charming “Gilbert Valley Hotel” is a 1 minute walk away, with full restaurant and bar with affordable takeaway food and wine.

- "Process very easy. Accommodation suited our needs." - "I was hesitant to book due to the previous review. I did anyway and I was glad I did. It is a beautiful old building with character and a big history behind it. We stayed in the Scholar room which is tucked away at the back. The room was spacious and clean. My children LOVED swimming in the massive bath and although the hideaway has 2 other rooms we didnt hear or see anyone, we felt like we had the place to ourselves. I loved the garden with the tables and chairs. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again."

This special historic cottage is in the heart of charming Auburn - a 10 second walk to the neighbouring acclaimed restaurant, Terroir and the lovely pub, the Rising Sun. The cottage is quaint and elegant and features a king bed, neat kitchenette and unique ambience! Please note - this is newly listed & additional photos of the interior will be added soon!

The cottage is in the centre of the quiet but vibrant town of Auburn. Set back from the road under a shady loquat tree, guests will enjoy a characterful and pretty space of their own.

The bedroom has a comfortable solid timber bed with lovely bedlinen, a desk/chairs, wardrobe, portable heater and evaporative air conditioner.

Artwork adorns the walls, including a print by Escher and an Adelaide inspired painting by Felicity.

The kitchenette has a small fridge with freezer, a stove and ample cupboard space with crockery, French coffee press and cooking essentials.

The front room is soon to become a small gift shop but there will always be a private bedroom & exclusive guest side entrance. Felicity may use the kitchenette during shop opening hours (with sensitivity to guests' needs).

- "Felicitys was just perfect for what I needed. Clean, neat, quaint and cool (because the air conditioner had been put on prior to my arrival). And it was a 10 second walk from my party as well. So convenient! Thank you Felicity." - "This cute little cottage was in the best position for access to all Auburn had to offer. It was small and would suit a couple or a single person. Pros bedroom: the bed was so comfy and perfect to lounge back on to watch a movie. Cons bedroom: a cosy chair in the corner would be ideal, as a little reading chair or something other than the bed to comfortably sit on. It did have 2 wooden chairs in the room, but I wouldn't call those comfy. If the bed was a Queen, then there would be ample room for an armchair. Pros kitchen: fully functional! Could not fault the kitchen one bit. Pros bathroom: Clean and functional. What can I say? It's a bathroom. Small but I would expect that with the size of the cottage. Didn't mind it being off the kitchen. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my one-night stay and will definitely be back again!! Thank you Felicity for your hospitality (and to your Mum and Dad too!)."

Our original C1856 heritage listed stone carpenters residence has been converted into three character filled, rustic self contained row cottages, all with their own log fire and luxurious spa.

The old world charm of our secluded one bedroom couples spa retreat is the perfect romantic getaway for couples.

- "Lovely cosy place, kitchen, large bathroom with spa. Not far from local pub. Unusual especially when you fly in late on a Sunday. People usually leave milk, bread, cereal & eggs etc. Two burners didn’t work, hair dryer didn’t work, some lights didn’t work. Was definitely too expensive for what it was. Although we appreciated you changing our bookings as we had to cancel Xmas because of QLD Jesper cyclone. Only positive thing was the bed was very comfortable. Otherwise extremely disappointed."

The 1856 Mintaro Hideaway is a group of 3 heritage listed stone row cottages, all with their own private entries and facilities.

There is a shared guest courtyard with BBQ and outdoor settings under a large shady tree.

It is also the perfect place for small groups of families and friends to spend time together. Booking all 3 row cottages gives you exclusive use of the historic stone cottage and will sleep up to 11 people, with 5 bedrooms, 3 spa bathrooms and 3 living areas.

Unable to contact owner or maintenance man on either numbers given. Heater not working, control panel very grimy, freezer shelf badly in need of defrosting, outside back light not working, wood stove not working efficiently because of ashes from previous fires, and no pan or tools to clean it out with. Because heater not working, insufficient wood for wood fire. cobwebs in 2nd bedroom."

- "We had a great stay at this lovely home. The location is fantastic, and the property is beautifully styled and presented. Definitely recommend for anyone" - "When we returned to the property Saturday evening after spending the whole day outside in Clare, we figured out that there was no hot water. We haven't used hot water for the whole day until evening. Tried to contact the manager around 8.30 pm but there response from them until past midnight. Since there was no repones we had to abandon our holiday and head home as there was no way to take showers and children were needing to go to bed. Also dishwasher was not working and was switched off from the outlet. This meant the property manager knew that it was broken but chose not to inform the guests. Tried to contact the manager through text on a number given on the booklet but there was no response. After returning home we informed Stayz the sequence of events but they were very unhelpful and dismissive.I would definitely not recommend this property to any of my friends or colleagues. This is the worst experience we had compared to all the places we had stayed over the last 15 years."
