THE SPACE

If you are going to stay in the mountains, be sure to do it in classic mountains style!
Dalpura blends modern conveniences with that classic cathedral timber ceiling mountains cottage character.

Be greeted with views of the stunning Kanimbla valley at the end of the road as you drive in, you feel as though you are really on top of the blue mountains and adventure awaits. And indeed you are, as Blackheath is the highest village in the mountains, sometimes getting snow in winter time. And the dark clear night air is fantastic for star gazing.

If you are lucky you might even find yourself face to face with a kanagroo or echidna in the main street or local field around dawn or dusk.

Dalpura is the perfect place for a romantic couples getaway, but is very popular with small families or two couples. The cottage comfortably hosts four people in two bedrooms. We recommend only four guests maximum as there is only dining and seating for four.

The gorgeous large main loft bedroom with queen sized bed has that classic wooden mountains cottage feel about it.
The 2nd bedroom downstairs has a King sized bed that can be split into and made up into two king singles upon request after booking.

The Grand Canyon, Govett's Leap, and the Rhododendron gardens are only a short drive away, as are many other classic Blackheath bushwalks and lookouts.
Blackheath is an ideal location to avoid the mainstream crowds at Katoomba, yet only a short drive to access many classic and stunning locations and activities.

The cottage is a short few minutes drive to the main street of Blackheath village, one of the last bastions of the classic Blue Mountains. The quaint shops, art galleries, and nice selection of cafe's and friendly laid back atmosphere will delight you. A strikingly different atmosphere to tourist focused Katoomba.

Blackheath is also a great base to visit Katoomba, Leura, Wentworth falls, and Mount Victoria. Jenolan Caves is only 1 hour away and can be done as a day trip.

Your hosts Nicole and Dave live in Sydney, so we won't be there to meet you. But we are only a phone call away should you have questions or need advice on local attractions. We are experienced mountaineers and can advise on the best walks and adventure activities to suit all levels.

Dalpura is situated in a quiet secluded street perched on the edge of the Kanimbla valley. It's secluded location has that real mountains feel to it.
The night sky above Blackheath with the Milky Way is just amazing.
Wildlife abounds, and kangaroos and echidna's have been known to wander the streets and the nearby oval at dawn and dusk.

There are five steps to get into the house, and the shower is over the bathtub.

The Thermostat Control Panel is hung on the corridor wall. Please open the cover. Simply push the button from Off position to On position (labelled in Red). Then you can adjust the temperature by pressing the + or - buttons.

Winter is the most popular season in the mountains. Many people love fireplace and firewood. We have prepared reasonable amount of firewood for you to enjoy during the winter months from June to August. Based on our experience, the amount of firewood should be sufficient to get you start for your stay. If you need more firewood, you can easily buy it from the nearby petrol station. To protect our environment, please consume firewood responsibly.

For Summer, we have split air-conditioning system in the lounge and all of our bedrooms. You may use remote control to adjust the temperature easily in the lounge and each room.- Standalone laundry room at the back of cottage with washing machine and dryers. Getting around Blackheath train station is only 10 minute walk from Mountain Cottage. There is a bus stop right in front of the cottage. It connects people from the cottage to Blackheath village and the train station. For people traveling by car, there is plenty of street parking without limits.When you are making a booking, please write down the total no of guests. -Three bedrooms (each with a built in wardrobe), the main bedroom has a king bed, the blue room, a bunk bed (top bed only suitable for a child) and the loft bedroom, a double bed. All beds are made prior arrival. There is a portable baby cot and chair.
-Two bathrooms: the main bathroom has an in ground double spa bath, a shower and toilet. The other, a shower and a toilet combined with laundry facilities (washing machine and dryer). One bath towel per person, one hand towel and one bath mat in each bathroom, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand liquid soap, toilet paper and hair dryer are provided.
