- "We have travelled to many places, and stayed in many amazing luxury motels and boutique accommodation, but all pale in comparison to the amazing villa we stayed in at Clifftop at Hepburn!! You can sense the absolute passion the owners, Dave and Mani, have for their villas. Nothing is forgotten, and everything is considered. We stayed in the Paris villa this weekend, and the experience, from when I first spoke to David on the phone when booking, through to when we sadly had to leave, was just perfect. For our stay I added in the Lovebirds package and platter package. Each were amazing value and totally enhanced the experience. The floor to ceiling glass walls offering unparalleled panoramic views and was accompanied by a glass floor section (which Dave went to the effort of making a lovely heart shape out of red rose petals). The mood lighting was gorgeous and also adjustable whenever we desired. There was a beautiful log fire burning when we entered and a bottle of Moet on ice as well! To top it off lovely chocolates, strawberries and cherries were sitting there surrounded by rose petals as well. Talk about setting the scene for a beautiful romantic weekend!! The bath is the most extraordinary timber bath I have ever seen, and large enough for even me to fit in (I am 6'2)!! There is sparkling water, biscuits, noodles, chips, cereal and milk and nespresso coffee, so the only thing you need to leave your villa for is lunch and dinner! Having said that, the cheese platter was the most beautiful way to spend an evening in our luxury villa with a glass of wine!! There is even an instant camera to take some shots of your stay and a state of the art massage chair to unwind in!! I don't want to miss talking about the bed either, with such a soft pillow top, it was a dream sleep every night!! By far, this is the longest review I have ever done, and I still don't feel like I have done it justice. It was truly the most inspiring, romantic, luxurious stay we could have dreamed of, and we cant thank both Dave and Mani enough for their attention to detail, for truly caring about our experience in the villas, for their advice on dining locations, for their passion in presenting such a beautiful setting for our romantic getaway and for providing us with such an unforgettable weekend. There really is no other place that will measure up to Clifftop at Hepburn!!"

There was no daily room service since it was self contained. We stayed in the Vienna which only had a small kitchenette with very small fridge and no stovetop. One among a triplet of semi-detached weatherboard cottages in the centre of town. With one bathroom and one gorgeous bedroom suite, this property is ideal for a small, intimate getaway for two. Alternatively, all three cottages can be booked collectively for bigger groups.

Cosy yet luxurious, the cottage provides just about every amenity lodgers could need or want for their little holiday. A surprisingly spacious, open-plan living and dining area offers a well-equipped kitchenette, round table with bentwood chairs, plush couches, a TV and fireplace. The space
The Poolway Cottages overlook the Hepburn Regional Park giving them a wonderful ambience, outdoor spaces and walking tracks. Our cottage features 2 bedrooms both with en-suites, a private balcony, wood fireplace, and ducted heating, air-conditioning and full kitchen facilities.

The cottage is a 3-minute drive from Daylesford and walking distance to everything Hepburn Springs has to offer. A great place to "wind down" and relax, or enjoy a romantic getaway. A good chance to see Wallabies, Kangaroos, Echidnas, and Wombats if they choose to visit!

There is a central, open-plan kitchen, meals and lounge. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, cooktop, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, coffee machine (pod), fridge-freezer, along with cookware, utensils, crockery and cutlery.

Venture outside and explore the initial surroundings of the Cottage - the native bush, the creek and watch for the wildlife. Or simply relax on the deck, reading a book or listening to the birds.

Please note the space is not particularly set up for pets, please get in touch first if you wish to bring your pet on holiday with you.

Musk House is a tastefully decorated 1 bedroom cottage with an en-suite bathroom. The open planned living/dining/ kitchen area is spacious with views out to the garden. There is also a day bed in the sun room, perfect for an afternoon snooze or a relaxing read of a book or magazine.

The space
While the buzz of Daylesford is only a 7 minute drive away, here at Musk House is another world of peace and solitude. A stroll through the garden reveals a myriad of wonderful plants and a babbling creek that flows all year round. The day bed in the sunroom is a treasured spot for relaxing with a book or an afternoon siesta. Even from inside the cottage, by the warmth of the wood fire or the coolness of the air conditioner with a favourite CD playing, the garden still envelops you with its tranquil ambiance.
There is a full kitchen with everything you need to self cater. Tea, coffee & long life milk is supplied & there is a Nespresso coffee machine with a supply of pods for your stay. Cooking oil, salt and pepper can also be found in the pantry. There is a smart tv for your viewing pleasure.
In the bedroom you will find a queen size bed and an ensuite bathroom. Sorry but there is only a shower as we are on tank water out here in the country and filling a bath would be contradictory to good water management practices. I do hope you understand.
Musk House is also pet friendly so feel to have your fur baby accompany you on your country escape. I do ask that your well behaved pet is not left inside the house unsupervised. The courtyard garden accessed via the back door or the French doors from the sun room, is fully fenced as is the front garden entry area.
Pets are not permitted on the furniture or the bed. Please clean up after your dog in the garden.
Enjoy a body massage in Daylesford, but experience a massage of the soul at Musk House.

Other things to note
The property is just far enough away from town, making it just the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate but only a seven minute drive into Daylesford so you can sample all the treats of the region. These include a great selection of eateries, beer and wine bars, specialist shops and galleries. Take the mineral waters too at the famous and historic Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa or try various treatments at one of a selection of day spas. Musk House is a pet friendly property with a small secured garden area. Your pet is welcome to accompany you inside the cottage under your supervision. Please clean up after your pet and do not allow them on the furniture or bed.
DIRECTIONS TO MUSK House
600 Trentham/Daylesford Road, Musk.

1. Travel from Melbourne via the Calder Freeway and head towards
Woodend.
2. Take the Woodend exit and travel through the forest into
Woodend
3. The turnoff to Daylesford is just after the pedestrian crossing on
your left. It’s the Trentham Daylesford Rd.
4. Follow this road towards Trentham. You will go through the small
town of Tylden. Make sure you slow to 70km as the local police are
pretty vigilant.
5. The turn off to Daylesford is a further 10 min drive. Take this turn
off to the right (which avoids the town of Trentham but it does direct
you to the Trentham Falls and Daylesford)
6. Follow this road to Daylesford. You will pass through a couple of
small towns. The first is Lyonville. Next is Bullarto.
7. MUSK IS NEXT. Watch carefully as the sign is quite small and
easily missed. You will pass An Olive Grove on your left & a blue sign for Peppermint Springs.
8. Musk House is at the bottom of the decline, the second last house
on your left just before the bend at the guard rails. There is a metal sign on the fence & a gate across the driveway. I will leave the gate across driveway entrance open for your arrival.
9. If you pass the turn off to Dairy Flat Farm & Lodge then you have gone too far.
10. There is a lockbox containing the keys located just near the door. The code will be provided once your booking is confirmed. Please return the key to the key safe when you depart.
I hope these directions enable a smooth arrival at Musk House for your weekend of rest and relaxation.

POWER OUTAGES:
In the case of a power outage there are battery operated lanterns in the drawer to right of the fridge. There is also a torch on top of the fridge. The property will also be
without water as the cabin is serviced by tank water requiring an electric pump. There are some individual bottled water in the wooden cupboard located at the end of the kitchen. There is also a large 10 litre cask of fresh water for your use.
There is a butane portable gas stove located in this cupboard for your use just in case the outage is prolonged.
I will keep you up to date as Powercor advise me. Outages can be common during excessive rain or wind as the many trees in the area are susceptible to falling & bringing down powerlines. Hopefully you will not need to make use of the emergency items.

Guests park in 'guest parking' garage & walk down some 12 LANDSCAPED STEPS. Astley is not suitable for guests with a mobility disability. Also a keypad entry with no contactable access is available due to covid if requested. Although we do like to welcome & show our guests into the cottage when ETA is given.

Other things to note
Be sure to know there are some 12 steps down to the cottage which are wide & gradually descending. Maybe not suitable for anyone with a physical disability.

Tucked away in a beautiful garden sanctuary “The Art Retreat” is an intimate one bedroom hideaway for two, on a blue ribbon block a stone’s throw from the main street of Daylesford and all the delights it has to offer, but quiet and private as though deep in the country. In winter you’ll be toasty and warm in the Art Retreat – with underfloor and reverse cycle heating, cosy flanellette sheets, a winter weight quilt, top of the line electric blanket and thick warm coverlets, along with hot chocolate, and a range of teas and coffees. Snug as bugs in a rug.

Nestled in an incredible garden behind the owner’s art studio, this little gem is thoughtfully decorated and provides an ever-changing vista through the seasons. You can enjoy the garden view from the four-poster bed with its luxurious pillow-top premium bedding, sample a local wine in your own private courtyard, or relish a frothy hot chocolate in front of the ethanol fire while you watch the native birds gambol about in the beautiful old trees. The owners of this lovely little hideaway live on site but will happily leave you to yourselves or say hello if you pass by.

The Art Retreat is equipped with a coffee pod machine, toaster, microwave, and lovely selection of artisan teas in the charming kitchenette. Nip up to the Sunday markets for local jams or the Wombat Gardens Café to grab some beautiful sourdough bread from Dairy Flat Farm, or find some local ales, ciders, wines or spirits at an award winning local vineyard or distillery to enjoy while you’re here. Nestled at the end of a quiet street in town, Little Stanley is your own private and tranquil hideaway. Surrounded by a large garden and backing on to bushland, yet right in town, it’s the perfect spot to settle in and recharge. Relax with your morning coffee in the courtyard which is bathed in morning sunlight. There's an abundance of wildlife and walking trails nearby and a pleasant walk to the main street or the botanical gardens at the top of the street. We hope to see you soon.!

The space
Little Stanley is tucked away beside the main house. With its own entrance and private patio you’ll have it all to yourself.
Inside is spacious open plan with loads of natural light and views of the garden from every window. We have tried to ‘up cycle’ and create a warm space with a homey feel… (we do love a little hunting and gathering!)
It’s a casual space with room to relax.. watch TV in bed or just enjoy the views.There’s also a large selection of books, magazines and games for you so settle in…!
The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, sandwich maker, etc… and there’s a bbq right outside. We can help if there’s anything else you may need.
Private ensuite has a walk-in shower and toilet.. a well lit basin with a large mirror, so you can look your best!
There is also a loft upstairs which is a favourite hideaway spot to relax or if you need to do some work (really?!) there is a large workspace for you…

There is parking in our driveway right next to Little Stanley.
You can walk into town or it’s a two minute drive to the nearest coffee!

Pets are allowed, however owners must take responsibility for them as only the front courtyard is fully fenced.

Upon entering the cottage you will be enchanted by the charming blend of interiors combined with modern conveniences and above all else, comfort!

Aurora is a studio cottage with a private landscaped garden and gorgeous views over the surrounding forest. Situated in the most desirable part of Hepburn Springs at the high end of a lightly forested long and sloping 1-acre site (with two other small cottages on it) that backs onto and has direct access to the Hepburn Mineral Springs Reserve, the cottage provides a relaxed and peaceful getaway.

The space
The compact kitchenette contains all the essentials if you want to prepare your own meals, but the Daylesford/Hepburn Springs area has a well-deserved reputation for outstanding cafes and restaurants.

There is free WiFi and Netflix is included on the large TV.
