Parkrun is next door at the main dam. Very close to all the restaurants and shops of Dullstroom . Easy walking . walked to the brewery and coffee shop . Has a TV with DSTV but honestly we did not need it. No WiFI but again that added to the peace and as a couple we could connect again without it. 4 rooms to choose from . Two main rooms have victorian baths , fire places for winter . Very comfortable. Doors open onto the dam . One room on the left very romantic in the way it has mirrors around the bath and the view of the dam . fire place , leave it up to you to imagine . The two other rooms have showers and heaters for the winter time. Daily serviced so no washing up or making of beds. true luxury here. Love to come back in winter time with the cold and mist and log fires on in the lounge and bedroom. We will be back. Thumbs up for us. "

- "OK ish to stay with dogs. However the road to get to the property is terrible terrible terrible. We slipped off the Provincial sand road due to mud. However the real challenge is to get to the farm house. Not fun at all especially when wet. We won't visit again because of challenges to get to the property. Real pity. " - "Wonderful setting I must say! And the venue was well laid out with its ponds, etc. The rooms were drab, dark, old and small - it felt very crammed with all the furniture in it. There was a small fridge in the room, which was great, but there was no bottled water in the room and we had been told not to drink the tap water. The bathroom especially, was very poor - it had cracked tiles in the shower and weak water pressure, no shelves for toiletries, and the cistern took forever to fill up. We were also very surprised that there were no tissues or disposal plastic bags for sanitary towels, in the bathroom. One other observation that was quite irritating, was that on a Friday night, their pub was closed when we went there for a nightcap at 21H15 - I mean that's really early on a weekend night."

This cosy cottage is located on a family farm alongside a working performing arts center. The cottage is light and airy with open plan living area with an open wood fireplace, with beautiful valley and mountain views. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, one with a shower and one with a bath. The cottage is equipped with all cooking, braai and eating utensils. As the cottage is off the grid and relies off solar power there is no microwave or toaster available, use of electrical appliances such a hair dryer or straightner is not possible.

'The Flufftail' is named after one of Dullstroom's most elusive birds. It is a charming stone cottage set against a hill. It has an elevated position with magnificent views over the trout dams and valley. It boasts Dullstroom's largest and most impressive fireplace and is serviced daily. The very spacious bedroom has a King size bed with pure cotton bedding together with antique wardrobe. The bedroom opens onto a large terrace with cast aluminium furniture and Jetmaster braai. The view of the valley with it's surrounding hills is uninterrupted. A kiddies loft bedroom to the side of the bedroom is accessed by a spiral staircase. It has two single beds and a cot. There is a good selection of children's videos and books.
The romantic old fashioned bathroom has a Victorian slipper bath. There are "his and her" bathrobes and luxury shampoo and soaps provided. There is a TV with private DSTV (hotel bouquet), DVD and video.
At ground level there is a fully fitted and equipped kitchen / dining room. The kitchen has a four plate electric hob with built-in under counter oven. There is an undercounter fridge and separate freezer. (Bar fridge sizes). The dining area seats four comfortably. The view also looks out onto the dams and valley. Please note that the kitchen area is separate from the bedroom area.
The lodge is serviced daily by our uniformed staff and there are laundry facilities if required.
Upgrade: We have put in another bar in the Flufftail loft balcony (which already has a gate) to improve safety.

Treetops Cottage is situated in the quaint village of Dullstroom, in Mpumalanga. It offers the best of both worlds being situated in the heart of the town yet offering great views of the surrounding area.

The farm is home to many wild animals, including Blesbok, Rhebok, Springbok, Duiker and Zebra, as well as a number of smaller animals. Dullstroom is a 2.5 hour drive from Johannesburg, and Kruger Park is an additional 2.5 hour drive to the East, and is elevated 2000m (6600ft) above sea level. As the cottage is managed, guests will be required to submit a credit card imprint in case of breakages and/or charges to the cottage, and will need to pay a gate fee of ZAR 190 per vehicle entering the farm.

Kinloch Lodge is situated 12km outside of Dullstroom en-route to Highland Gate Golf Estate, with 4 self-catering cottages & can host up to 18 guests at a time. Kinloch is located close enough to Dullstroom town that one can pop there for a delicious meal.

Kinloch has 6 dams which are fed from springs & stream & stock Rainbow Trout. The larger dam stocks Bass & is ideal for float tubes on a sunny day. During rainy months we do advise that our guest arrive in a 4x4 as the roads become quite muddy

The space
Dunbar is the perfect romantic Cottage at Kinloch. This cosy, open plan cottage is fully self-catering and has a private patio for the sunny days & a covered veranda with a Weber braai for when it rains.

In the cottage is a bar fridge with all amenities, gas heater - no fireplace. The bathroom has recently been renovated and has a big shower with a ball & claw bath.

Last Cast is a charming 4-sleeper unit at Blue Crane Farm Trout and Wildlife Estate.

It includes a main bedroom with a queen bed and ensuite bathroom (shower and bathtub) and a second bedroom with two single beds and ensuite bathroom (shower).

The open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area features an indoor fireplace, while the covered patio has a built-in braai and seating.

A beautiful stone boma for outdoor braais is situated in front of the unit.

The space
Blue Crane Farm - Trout and Wildlife Estate in Dullstroom is an exceptional destination for fly-fishing enthusiasts, featuring two meticulously maintained and well-stocked trout dams.

Our larger dam spans an impressive 9 hectares and includes several jetties to enhance your fly-fishing experience.

This charming venue boasts stunning natural scenery and is home to free-roaming wildlife, including species such as fallow deer, springbok, blesbok, zebra, hartebeest, and vaal rhebok.

The birdlife is remarkable, with several endangered species, including the Blue Crane and Crowned Cranes, regularly nesting on the farm.

The farm offers accommodation in eight well-appointed self-catering units, ranging from cozy 2-sleeper cottages to spacious 8-sleeper houses.

Blue Crane Farm can accommodate up to 44 guests in total, making it the ideal venue for both small and large group bookings.

Each unit provides privacy while remaining easily accessible, allowing you to visit family or friends in neighboring units.

All accommodations face the waterfront, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding grasslands.

The venue features stunning scenery and provides an opportunity to see free-roaming game species such as springbok, blesbok, zebra, hartebeest, and vaal rhebuck.

We invite all our guests to immerse themselves in nature by hiking on the farm. The farm's perimeter is approximately 6 km if you take a circular route, with several interconnected farm roads over the hills that are ideal for hiking, cycling, or jogging.

A stroll around the large dam covers a distance of about 1.5 km to 2 km. The difficulty level for all walks is easy, as all paths are well-maintained and require no climbing.

There are two dams on the farm where guests can enjoy fly fishing. Both dams are stocked with rainbow trout, while the larger 9-hectare dam also contains brown trout.

Please note that Blue Crane Farm is exclusively a fly fishing venue.

All fish must be caught and released; bass rods and equipment are strictly prohibited. We rely on the honesty of our guests.

If you would like to keep any fish you catch, there is a charge of R100 per fish.

Firewood is available for sale at R30 per bag.

The space
Centrally situated on the High5 Hiking Trails venue gives guests access to the diverse natural environment of fascinating sandstone rock formations, rolling highlands grassland, indigenous mountain side forests, valleys with waterfalls of which the streams originate on the property guaranteeing it perfectly pure and safe.

Plains game like wildebeest, zebra and mountain rehbuck roam about and klipspringer lives in the rocky outcrops around the lodge and hiking camps.

Scarce and localised bird species include narina trogon, knysna tauraco, blue-mantled crested fly catcher and a predominantly summer roosting colony of Cape vultures.

Four trout ponds right in front of the lodge add to visual, physical and psychological enjoyment.

An indoors sunroom overlooking the huge outdoor patio, braai area and trout ponds makes for lovely relaxing spaces.

The very well equipped kitchen, dining room and indoor braai all form one large entertainment space where everyone shares in the enjoyment.

The rooms are all en-suite, crispy clean, cozy and comfortable.

Since the opening of the lodge in late 2021 more than half of the guests have already returned for another visit and some have booked even their third stay.

This is where the soul reconnects with the breath of life.

The entire 12 bed lodge, which includes "The Stables" wing rooms, all hiking trails and trout ponds are available lodge guest.

A well stocked bass pond on the neighbouring property may be booked, too.

Access road:
Although normal sedan type vehicles do manage to get to lodge, high riding vehicles like SUVs or similar manage easier. 4WD is not needed, but advisable for the wetter rainy season.

An alternative parking and shuttle service is available for guests with low vehicles or no 4WD if needed. Please enquire about this service.

Loadshedding:
In case of loadshedding a UPS will keep the lights on for some time. Please provide for own alternative portable LED lights in case of extended loadshedding periods.

A gas stove and gas showers ensure that guests will always be able to cook and shower during power outages.

With a seperate Living area, the kids can prop themselves in front of the TV (Full DSTV with all sport channels) for some down time while parents enjoy a book in the cozy Sunroom.

By obtaining a Fishing License from the hotel or online, guests can enjoy exquisite Fly Fishing on the estate grounds at the various trout dams.

Need fishing gear? Head down to the hotel and rent rods, flies and a cart to move around in between the dams.

Apple Tree Cottage is situated in Thula Street and offers a 3-bedroom cottage for the exclusive use of our guests (maximum of 7 guests). Two of the bedrooms are downstairs and have queen beds (en-suite bathrooms), and one bedroom is situated on the mezzanine level with three twin beds and its own bathroom.
